And no, I bought 48Gbps rated cables. Manufacturers just use the "HDMI 2.1" moniker to simplify it for people. Cables are built and measured to a bandwidth spec. If a cable can support full bandwidth for HDMI 2.1 sources, they will be labeled "Ultra Certified Cables".
I think you are confused, 3.5mm is not digital, it is an analog signal. Anyway to can get a digital to analog converter for around $15, that gives you a headphone jack.
The price/value ratio is pretty great, plus its got FALD and VERY VERY good input lag. There are certainly "better" sets for more money (LG OLED, Samsung 8/9 series QLED, Sony X9xxE or X9xxF series), but I'd say you can't go wrong at this price point.

The other great time is during clearance to be replaced by the next model. For LG and Samsung, that's usually in April-May.

They are not the only ones in the Ultra High Speed game. They actually weren't even the first to be fully certified to be a proper Ultra High Speed Cable, Zeskit was.

FWIW, you can buy the 65E8 here for $2249 shipped. That'll bring the OLED closer to the Q8 in price. Not sure if you've looked up differences between the LG displays (B8 v C8 v E8 v W8) but they all have very similar displays with subtle differences in the TVs themselves. So if you like the C8 you'll probably like the E8.
If you're a smart user, you shouldn't have to worry about burn-in. Just don't leave a static picture sitting on the TV for days at a time. The only downside I see with it is daytime viewing. The E8 is slightly dimmer for SDR content than the C8, and the same brightness for HDR content. Assuming you don't have large windows across or 90' to your TV (or that you have decent drapes), you should be fine.
If it were me, I'd rather risk the daytime viewing (and slight chance of burn-in) over a guarantee of not having Dolby Vision. Also if you take a look at some Q8/Q9 reviews and user feedback, you'll notice that Samsung's FALD algorithm actually crushes details in dark scenes. There's a good review by HDTVTest of the Q9FN that compares it's local dimming side-by-side to a Sony and half of the details are missing in one of the scenes.
Some panels are better than others , just buy one and if you have a problem return it for a different one , just remember to not go explicitly looking for flaws and you'll be fine

Not sure what the 950H is like I haven't done enough home work on it but like the other guy said the bloom on the x900f can be significant. I have it. Been using an Amazon Basics mount for almost 2 years. Have had zero issues with bending, or any issues at all honestly. Its as rock solid as the day I bought it. I just picked up this vizio M50-d1 from Jet.com. with promo code drop20 it comes to $571.89 if you pay with debit and do no returns. Its a bit over your price range but ive done a ton of research over that last day or so and this seems to be the best bang for the buck atm, also you get a cool android tablet to chrome-cast from and configure your TVs setting, its basically a remote. Here is a great breakdown of the TV from RTINGS, a 3rd party TV reviewer. The M series from vizio seems to be one of the best rated budget 4k HDR tvs. Can't wait for it to arrive
If they watch cable tv news for 8 hours day or play lots of game, I would feel safer with the x900F. It's especially not needed, if they rarely watch movies or streaming HDR content.
The 2018 C8 has less burn-in than C7 and 2017 models, due to a larger red-subpixel. A larger subpixel means longer life. It's the safest bet. Forget about overpriced 2017 C7 models.

You're right that it's a 10/100 port, and wifi is faster (by almost 4x!). That was a surprise to me when I tried it the other day!
That said, I don't think my issues were a problem with throughput. Fast.com put the ethernet port at 80+mbs which should be more than enough to load a Disney+ landing page and if it was a limitation in throughput, I wouldn't think rebooting would solve it.
Anyway, it's mostly moot as I've cut over to an AppleTV for streaming. It doesn't have any trouble streaming or loading apps. Although ARC is still busted and the TV forgets its settings with some frequency.
If I had to do it over, I'd wait to see how the Sony's X95J performs.

The stand is fairly cheap but when pressed against the desk, it’s completely firm. I strongly suggest it for Dirt Rally and WRC. The G29 version of the wheel supports PlayStation however.

Yeah - completely understand... all in all what matters is how you feel it looks, but if you are gunning for HDR, there are definitely good alternatives but keeping it under 1K might be difficult.
Rtings.com makes a good case for the Samsung KU6300 - it outperforms the LG UH7700. The KU6300 is going for $999 for the 65" model on Amazon.
If you size down to a 55", then the KS8000 becomes the obvious choice (the prices hover around $900 - $1200 depending on where you look).

Is the 200$ price difference worth it for the 6 series over the 5 series? What is the difference between the R615 and R617? I'm looking to be "Wowed" by the improvement in HDR content over my current Sony TV which will be migrating to the bedroom.
From what I've been reading from others, TCL quality control is much improved during the second half of the year and I already have Amazon prime so unless anyone knows of a cheaper price elsewhere (Black Friday or Cyber Monday) I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the TV linked above.

I had the same issue, found the little notch on the horizontal board in no time.
I'm a bit leery about recommending hisense this year only because I've heard so many common complaints among buyers, especially the reddish ghosting. I would do some research in the hisense reddit if you are considering going down that road.
Aside from that, tcl, vizio, and hisense are probably still your best bet. I would shoot for a 2020 TCL 6 series if you arent scared off by your current set (i understand if you are). Regardless of which you pick, i wouldnt worry much about input lag for 4k gaming because all of them are pretty low. And if you want a tv but it has too few ports, just buy an hdmi switcher. I'll link the one I have below. It has the bandwidth for 4k@60 and passes through HDR just fine.

From what I've seen the 19 8 series had some black crush, that was supposedly fixed in a software update. That said, the 2020 6 is a second gen mini-led set, and from what I've been reading they've tuned the black crush issue in this model.
I'm kind of in the same boat. Going to wait and see what the majority of users/reviewers have to say.
FWIW, you can nab a 65" 950H on Amazon Warehouse (Like New) for around 1600. This may be the best of the three options. If I needed something today, I'd go for this.
I haven’t seen it drop lower than $1299, no, but if you’re willing to give amazon warehouse deals a chance they’ve got the 65” X900E for $1275, I personally bought my 900E from them and it arrived brand new, the box had just been removed. Plus their customer support is the best.
I would 100% buy a 65” 900E over a 55” 900F.

For UHD 4K, you want a 'high speed' HDMI cable.

Thanks for everyone's responses! I've successfully eliminated the TCL, but now the LG B2 OLED has been suggested to me. Hearing lots of "OLED is better than QLED" comments, and seeing as we don't usually watch TV during the day, ambient light shouldn't be an issue. Am I getting the LG now?

Sorry for the long delay. I used a kit like this this to run it through the wall. Hardest part was dragging the HDMI cables through the wall but it wasn’t that difficult. I straightened out a hanger and used that to pull the cables through.
