This is a ton of bullshit. I wear p100 masks regularly and while yes, they're not as comfortable as not wearing a mask and just breathing normally, I do strenuous work while wearing one with barely any impedence.

N95 masks will filter out 95% of particulates in the air, but are not very effective against oil based vapors. P100 masks will filter out 99.some odd% of particles and are fairly effective against oil based vapors, so are actually MORE restrictive to airflow, but again it's barely worth mentioning it's been so insignificant.

Also, while a proper fit is crucial, you can also make sure you don't have facial hair or clothing obstructing the seal of the mask and use a generous slather of Vaseline around the seal to help create a better seal.

Surgical masks are best suited for those who are already infected as it will help prevent the airborne spread of the virus when coughing or sneezing.

Not sure whether you have seen this, but thanks to serological surveys the CDC estimates the number of infected and recovered individuals some 10X than reported. This could be due to asymptomatic spread (and recovery), as well as previous exposure to the four coronaviruses that cause the 'common cold' (although there are >100 strains of rhinovirus for example that also cause the cold).

Also recent work looking at T-cell mediated immunity, where various percentages of non-exposed individuals to SARS-CoV-2 had reactivity to the virus. 30% to 60% of these individuals.

Thus with 10M cases in the US at present, could a full 1/3 already be somewhat resistant? It could be the case.

The case for vaccination nonetheless is still strong. Heck there may be individuals who will get a second vaccine just to add extra protection, a bit of a 'boost' to whatever existing immunity there is.

Just because some 5 individuals (or could be a little higher) out of what 53M cases worldwide means literally 1 in a million get reinfected; just because you recover and have antibodies is not an airtight guarantee of not getting infected a second time.
