Here you go man! I found this through the official Quake.com home page.
Here's the fullsize: Image Link
The Super Nailgun fills the same role as Quake 3's Plasmagun, it just looks different and has a different name. The damage output also isn't low, it penetrates armor and does damage to health instead.
QC has one of the most retarded zoom sensitivity implementations in the history of FPS gaming. A rework was promised after December 2018, but alas nothing as of yet.
Hey everyone, I wanted to say thanks for all the support you've given me with these champion themes! What's the remaining theme you want to hear most? Let me know!
I think we may be getting a railgun-like reload for the Tribolt as has been suggested many times before, I think originally by Toxjq.
In reference to the Tribolt reload over the weekend Sync said "I already know what I want to do, just may take some time and convincing. /me shrugs." https://discordapp.com/channels/133980319010258944/266383788110643211/465640339491913729
So more changes are coming, might be a few patches although. :(
Considering this graph: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/qlncc0cpoj I think it would be interesting to have a paradigm where LG and TB occupy the same range, but LG has higher DPS where as TB has higher burst damage.
Valve took wine and several other projects (most notably dxvk). Bundled them together, modified to improve controller support and full-screen support and integrated inside Steam. They called this bundle Proton and released as open source.
In result, ~58% on Windows-only Steam titles now work on Linux :)
[edit] Officialy, only 27 titles were tested and whitelisted by Valve so far - but anyone can opt-in and check what works and what doesn't. /r/linux_gaming/ compiled this compatibility report - and that's where 58% comes from.
I hope this is allowed, as a PSA : I found out you can buy the 3 current issues in kindle format on amazon, each one for less/around 1$. You can then read it with the (free!) kindle app for PC. I think they are really worth it if you're interested in the lore.
This year is "QuakeCon the year of DOOM" as it says on the logo this year.

At E3 what Marty Stratton said was "We will be going all out at QUAKECON this summer, we're adding a whole host of panels and activities dedicated to DOOM, which we call DOOMCON" showed he DOOMCon image, and then within 5 secons the full QUAKECon logo was put back up on the screen again.
Next year there was already this announced for Quake Champions - "World Championship at QuakeCon 2020—the 25th year of QuakeCon!" (source)
Game Optimization (ongoing) -- Summer 2018.
Also, 'Enhanced Game Optimization' is slated for winter.
It is a priority for the devs, but there are different devs working on different aspects of the project. It might not be possible for id/Saber to divert their asset-creation or game design team members to work on engine optimization. Not every tool is suited for every job, is what I mean, and just because other progress is being made does not mean that this area is not a priority.
Parameters:
Pre-March -- 263 ups base, 0.8 friction, 3100 upss accel
March -- 255 ups base, 1.5 friction, 3000 upss accel
April PTS -- 263 ups base, 1.2 friction, 3100 upss accel
Quake 4 -- 160 ups base, 0.8 friction, 3200 upss accel
Running & CJ (QL) -- 320 ups base, 6.0 friction, 3200 upss accel, 100 ups minimum friction speed
Strafejumping (QL) -- 320 ups base, 0.0 friction, 320 upss accel
Here's the specific artwork for anyone who doesn't remember/wants to see it again, courtesy of the artist's deviantArt page. The modelers for Q:C seriously did a bang-up job recreating it; Visor's standard Q:C skin is a great remake of the Q3A original as well, arguably the closest to the old appearance (green skin aside) out of the returning cast so far (Ranger, Visor, Slash, Anarki, Sorlag, and Doomguy).
That's incorrect. What you described was the Overwatch system. What Quake Live had was a completely arbitrary formula choosing an arbitrary camera angle and deciding the ratio between the arbitrary angles to be a "1" scaling and applying that when you zoom. You adjust that scaling, meaning that if you want to set explicitly what sens you want to use, you had to re-construct the incorrect and convoluted math in order to calculate which number is required to yield the number you wanted.
Here's an illustration of what it would look like if QC implemented QL's system:
Ignore the downvotes lol, i honestly can’t get the shaders right in QL and there’s no gore... like what...
I play quake3 arena with the spearmint engine, Link: https://clover.moe/spearmint/
This is a new engine that really makes the game look great and sharp. Plus it runs in split screen, so frag your friends if nobody’s online. I love it. Gore too.
If nobody’s around Check out the tier666 mod. Link: https://www.moddb.com/mods/tier666
This makes the bots seem very nearly like real players, they’ll jump, strafe quickly left / right, lead with the rockets and find more paths in the levels. Shits fun. And for beginning it’s honestly more inviting than playing against veterans and you get better too.
Once you beat the single player lvlworld.com has tons of amazing maps and is still really active. The top maps all have bot support too which seems to be a priority (which is amazing). A lot of the newer maps have advanced level details and better textures that look amazing on the higher resolutions spearmint allows so definitely check some out.
Also the most popular mods section on moddb is filled with upgraded textures/graphics mods so go crazy with it if that’s your thing lol.
Quake 3 is on steam and GOG but if you get it on GOG it comes with team arena which honestly I enjoyed playing ctf and more in vanilla Q3 but it’s still fun.
If you grab it I’ll throw down some frags with you.
Edit: not—bot
You will be refunded with shards, not favor. 300 shards for each champion. (At least it worked for me this way when I bought Champ pack in July).
Also if you're already planning to buy the Pack, I would recommend to do this before Sep 4 - cause after that the price will rise: https://quake.bethesda.net/en/news/2EZEoTwy20C8g4MiCOUekC.
https://quake.bethesda.net/en/news/6158PL52qQCmQGA2U2y2GC
Here's the road map. Patches ususally come in 6 week cycles. Next patch might hit soon tho, because they had to delay stuff for QuakeCon.
Did I need to list every mod?
https://www.moddb.com/games/quake/mods
Heres a bunch, we're talking about the base games and where they went. Qc won't be moddable so by default its at the bottom of the list. Tuning numbers and the slowest map trickle is as far as we get.
>I'll leave a positive review as soon as they fix netcode, improve performance, add bots, add way more maps, implement rolling servers, put in a server browser, add CTF, make a decent tutorial, fix the scoreboard, and get better servers.
>This game needs a ton of work. I don't think it deserves a positive review right now.
It sounds like you were expecting a feature-complete product, which is strange considering the giant warning message at the top of the Steam Store page:
> Early Access Game
>Get instant access and start playing; get involved with this game as it develops.
>Note: This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development.
and the list of content to expect:
>What is the current state of the Early Access version?
>“Quake Champions has had an extensive ‘Closed Beta’ period that included an incredible amount of changes, fixes, and improvements, as well as the introduction of key new features along the way. Early Access represents a solid chunk of the game, with more to be added over the course of Early Access, WITH WORK-IN-PROGRESS PERFORMANCE, BOTH GRAPHICAL AND IN TERMS OF NETWORKING. We will launch Early Access with tons of content, including 11 UNIQUE CHAMPIONS; four distinct play modes that include DEATHMATCH, TEAM DEATHMATCH, DUEL, and SACRIFICE; as well as 8 ARENAS, including maps designed specifically for Duel and versions of maps dedicated to Sacrifice mode. Early Access will also introduce our first group of purchasable items and significant customization options for players and their Champions. In short, it’s a lot of great Quake content, with even more to come during Early Access.”
I think this still applies...

You won't ever have a perfect match in feel when you zoom in, but if you go for a value that is close to 100% arclength normalization for your zoom FOV on this graph thingy it'll feel pretty good.

Thanks to /u/everythinglbeok.
> Please release a Linux version so I don't have to boot into Windows anymore.
Have you tried how it runs on your Linux? If not, it should be easy to install and try out using Lutris (direct link to QC page). I guess you should also make sure that you have DXVK enabled.
If you haven't heard, they released their roadmap for the remainder of the year. I'm having a blast, but the only thing I'd personally ask for is Orbb (performance and QoL improvements as well of course)
The extra discount sale probably ends on the 18th too.
There's no time limit, it's a buy once have forever thing like any other game on Steam :) It's effectively 'buying the game' as opposed to playing the Free2Play.
While the game is still Early Access it gets you the Gladiator skin too, which is EA exclusive, it's a reimage of his Quake 1 look.
The only way to one-up that is today they announced a GameStop-exclusive Collector's Edition! with a 12" Scalebearer model.
BJ's story actually ties in to the often forgotten Wolfenstein game from 2009.
Description from the official site: > William Joseph “BJ” Blazkowicz had a glowing track record as the Office of Secret Actions’ (OSA) top agent. As part of this joint American-British agency, he helped thwart numerous German Regime techno-occult initiatives during World War II, including that of the Regime high officer Deathshead and his doomsday weapon. Deathshead planned to harness the power of the Black Sun Dimension to power his ultimate weapon, but was single-handedly stopped by BJ, who entered this strange alternate plane of reality to destroy the apparatus that would be the doomsday device’s power source. > > During his mission, an explosion knocked BJ unconscious and rendered him comatose for 14 years while the battle continued to rage on in the world around him. When he finally awoke, he found that the world had moved on without him. The Regime had conquered the globe and was quashing any rebellions as quickly as they could form. BJ swore to assemble a Resistance force to wipe out the Regime, ending their reign of tyranny once and for all.
ZeRo4 hasn't been at the top of his game for years now and practices in a scene that's arguably currently dead compared to if he lived in the EU - His prime was 16 years ago.
It's also been announced that atleast one of the ways to qualify for Duel at Quakecon this year will be through an open BYOC tournament:
https://quake.bethesda.net/en/news/ILGSrDUT0iE0Qu6kcQKYE
> QUAKECON BYOC OPEN QUALIFIER > > Bethesda will be hosting the first major eSports tournament for Quake Champions at this year’s QuakeCon in Dallas. We’ll reveal more details about the tournament at E3. > > While we’re not ready to talk in detail, we are announcing that one of the ways players can qualify for the Duel portion of the tournament is by competing in an open qualifier that will be held in the Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) area of QuakeCon, August 24-27, in Dallas, TX. Competitors who want a shot at competing versus the best in the world should make sure they secure their BYOC seat when they go on sale April 13 via the Quakecon web site.
The key difference is the actual distance covered. If you mentally extrapolate the respective curves, if the heavy and mediums all move up to the same speed, the lights are clearly much faster.
Yeah, this isn't something new or information that was kept private. This was announced alongside the March update both on the Bethesda website and on the official Quake Twitter account.
"Our world-class competitors will once again get the chance to prove their skill in the new year-long 2019-2020 season, which kicks off with a Duel tournament at QuakeCon 2019 and leads up to a World Championship at QuakeCon 2020—the 25th year of QuakeCon!"
No further details yet but we know that we're getting a year-long season of Quake tournaments starting with Quakecon 2019 and concluding with a "World Championship" at Quakecon 2020. I personally like the idea of having a longer off-season without games leading up to a full year of Quake so I think we're in for something great.
Yea, it is a good idea.
They also had esports bundle in the August 2018 update which was talked about in the Developers Live Stream in late July 2018.
"Esports Bundle (August 2018)
Our players have asked us, “How can we help support Quake esports?” Well for a limited time you can with the upcoming Esports Showdown bundle! This bundle is the best value we’ve offered, with the new Quake 4 “Redeemer” Gauntlet, 7-day XP boost, 2 Reliquaries, and 200 Platinum. This is also the first bundle that you can purchase multiple times, and know that you’re helping to grow the Quake Champions tournament scene! Look forward to it in the store."

deaths were removed intentionally the previous patch(march) not in April.
edit: for those who still doubt this check the UI section in march patch notes
>I tried making the zoom sens the same as hipfire , but it felt way too high even though it was the same cm/360 so I put it back to default
If you make the normal sensitivity and zoom sensitivity the same you won't achieve what're expecting to achieve. You need to calculate these values because the sensitivity needs to be adjusted in relation to FOV. Use the calculator: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/l4igdvmlfb
My settings:
My FOV is 120, zoom FOV is 80 and my base sensitivity is 1.6 then zoom sensitivity should be 0.86.
Crude curve fit for analyzing friction
The current Crouch base speed on Live is 272ups (0.85*320), the value of 263 came from the time when her base speed is 310ups.
Very interesting. It is likely due to the perturbation from unnormalized vector addition. Because I don't know the internal physics tickrate, I cannot precisely calculate the perturbation effect, what you are seeing here is effectively the result if the physics is running at infinite FPS. However, with your result I can try to estimate it.
Or maybe u/SyncError can just tell us what the internal physics tickrate is.
EDIT: tickrate at 62.5Hz (timestep of 16ms) gives max achievable crouchslide of 852 ups. Link
They have the official Dev Live Stream Summary at the Bethesda Website. Not sure what you are asking and so forth, but maybe you didn't know?
https://quake.bethesda.net/en/arenas/2sbszwBx9CsCuwYiWM8owa
The map's page was available since yesterday, I don't know why the images have the weird 1728 x 972 size, seems like as if they've been resized by 10% in MSPaint.
Those screenshots were captured in-game on 8K (7680x4320) with Nvidia DSR and some slight "hacking". I don't think more is possible on my FullHD monitor... moreover, NVidia changed something in their drivers, and my little "hack" for having resolutions higher than 4K is not working anymore.
Maybe someone can extract the models from in-game files and view them + render them in a 3D software, you have to ask, because I don't know about those things.
Also, have you heard of Let's Enhance...? It's been quite popular recently. You can upscale files of maximum 2500px 4 times (to 10000px) with their deep learning algorithms. But only 5 free images per a free account.
https://letsenhance.io/
if someone else is wondering of this crazy keybindings, he is using Kinesis advantage2 LF Keyboard

71%. That's awful on Steam. People don't buy those games, unless they are super popular already. Look at your own game library and tell me if you have another game with that score.
Also, don't you remember how the game was bashed by the media in May, when it went open beta? For example, https://kotaku.com/quake-champions-beta-is-a-bloody-disaster-1795225874
Yup FOV is FOV zoomed or unzoomed, you might have to type in values manually on the left if the sliders won't go to what you want.
Zoom sensitivity is a mixed bag, I don't think it matches QL due to everythingllbeok's tests, he made this to try help people match the feel when zoomed/unzoomed on different settings which may help you though https://www.desmos.com/calculator/n9axi4m2n6
Syncerror took a poll recently asking about making changes to zoomsens though so it might change in the next build or two.
What do you mean? Competitive play was being tested in the OW BETA. Blizzard very much planned to have a competitive mode in OW.
They removed it from launch because they wanted to work on it more.
Go and download Overwolf, it will allow you to layer a chat window inside the game and you wont need to alt+tab at all.
You can also run in fullscreen so you are not losing any performance, also game capture is more effecient and wont cause as severe of a fps loss as with window/screen capture.
ioquake3 source would be a better start. (or maybe CNQ3)
Actually… I'm almost sure it's possible to do all these abilities things as a Q3A mod and it will play great and even look okay if a modernized engine like ioquake3 is used.
And there was already a Q3A mod which did something very similar, but without hitbox differences (not sure)
If I remember correctly it's this one https://www.moddb.com/mods/superheroes-arena/downloads
QC has been 100% stable in Linux for several months, using Lutris. The only 'new' thing is that now you can play the game using SteamPlay again.
But basically because since tha last update QC is using a different netcode library. And I don't think it's gonna last because some people is complaining about it.

Not the best place to get relevant info
https://quake.bethesda.net/ru/news/2rMpgQt55CTxFdwWf6ee88 : "Reduced heavy weight passive damage from 320/25, 400/50, 500/75 to 400/25, 500/50."
Correct. It was stated in March it is Quakecon 2019 to Quakecon 2020.
From that announcement:
"We’ve witnessed some of the most exhilarating moments in esports across our Quake Champions tournaments, and we’re just getting started! Our world-class competitors will once again get the chance to prove their skill in the new year-long 2019-2020 season, which kicks off with a Duel tournament at QuakeCon 2019 and leads up to a World Championship at QuakeCon 2020—the 25th year of QuakeCon!
There’s much more news to come about how we’re restructuring our esports season this year, and we’re excited to share it with you soon!"

The last developer diary specifically noted a reduction in desynchronisation, there have been several notable changes to player collisions over patches that players have noticed that have also proved it was still being worked on too. It is basically a non trivial problem that is going to take a lot of time and experimentation to improve.
I don't work on the team, I don't get to see what's being done or what's planned, all I know is that it's not being ignored.
The Dreamlands (or Dream Cycle) is a concept taken from H.P. Lovecraft. The official Quake Champions website says the following: "Warriors from all over the waking world have been trapped in the Dreamlands, where they must battle it out for eternity in Quake Champions". QC features both real Lovecraft deities like Azathoth and Shub-Niggurath and adds several new ones like Volkerh, Goroth, Cthalha and Ithagnal.
In the future you'll be able to buy Champs with in game currency, not real money. You also have a random chance at unlocking them by opening the different loot boxes, though this is pretty rare.
Here's a link to more info straight from the devs
"Going forward, we plan to do away with spending Favor on Champion rentals, replacing them with a roster of free Champions that rotates on a regular basis. Sweetening the deal, we plan to offer players the option to purchase Champions using Favor in addition to Platinum. Yes, that means you can now get your hands on the latest Champions like Keel and Strogg just by playing!"
It is listed in the march patch notes my dude. please know what you are talking about before making such statements.
>Death column has been removed from Unranked modes
listed under UI. end of discussion
>To oversimplify just for your sake, you can think of CPMA as being the more "cleaned up" code that intentionally simulate the same effect as what was inadvertently done in QW.
And like I said, just like you can simplify implementation for CPMA. You can simplify whole thing to the point where it's adjustable with just two cvars.
There is no magic algorithm that makes the movement behave differently from one another. The difference in behavior can be explained by the different values inputed into maxairspeed or airacceleration alone.
Seeing is believing, so here's a video demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgWqaDqkBD0
Experiencing it yourself is more believing, so you can download Xonotic and experiment with these physics presets yourself:
> exec physicsQ.cfg
> exec physicsQ3.cfg
You can toggle between the two air control sets by playing with just these two cvars. Keep in mind though, these physics presents only focus on air/ground movement. Things like double jumps, wallskimming, overbounces and such don't work.
Also, air movement and ground movement are separate. If you want to experiment with circle jumps and stuff, then you have to play with these cvars:
This kind of crash used to happen a fair bit with a few different engines, in some cases overclocking seemed to make it more frequent, sometimes game issues were found and updates caused them to happen far less frequently. Sometimes the system recovers after a very long time and the game closes, but the best tip I found many years ago was simply to have Super F4 on autostart as it makes recovering from such crashes trivial.
Here is the chat, so far:
Inamdar: Hi, my name is Inamdar. How may I help you?
Inamdar: Hello Jay,
Drummerboy860: Hello
Drummerboy860: A recent giveaway by Nvidia for a new railgun skin in the game Quake Champions was just announced
Drummerboy860: I downloaded and installed GeForce Experience, but am unable to locate the new railgun skin
Drummerboy860: Hello?
Inamdar: Sorry for the delay in response, please give me a moment let me check.
Drummerboy860: No problem. Thank you.
Inamdar: Thank you for your patience. Please let me know did you recived any email for that?
Drummerboy860: No
Inamdar: So how did you know you have received the promotion for your account?
Drummerboy860: I saw the recent facebook post on the Quake facebook page. It states that GeForce Experience users will receive the new skin. I downloaded and installed GeForce Experience but am unsure of how to claim the skin
Inamdar: Thank you for your patience. We don't have any such promotion as of now. If the promotion was announced by NVIDIA then it will be there in our website.
Drummerboy860: It is on the website
Drummerboy860: Here's the link: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/geforce-experience/giveaways/
Drummerboy860: Nvidia calls it the "Pulsar Railgun skin" on the United States region website
Inamdar: Ok. However the giveaways is provided to the random users not for all, if you're eligible then you will receive an email.
Drummerboy860: Oh. It's not available to all GeForce Experience users?
Inamdar: Yes.
Honestly, I really can't stress this enough, reading Masters of Doom encapsulates the birth of id up to Daikatana (covering The Ultimate Doom and DOOM II into QUAKE 1) can describe it way better than I can.
The general gist is: Romero was a jock, Carmack was a nerd, Romero wanted to go big, Carmack wanted to go realistic, Carmack is a coding WIZARD, Romero is a slacker, Carmack is kinda an autist, Romero is kinda a douchebag (up till Daikatana kicked him in the balls).
It's a pretty good read, and heck, I don't like reading purely text books and I read it when I was very young.
There were huds like these in QL: http://qlhud.lifeisabug.com/files/screenshots/zeroql_pbjLG9.jpg
There was also a smartphone app to practice it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jones.code&hl=en_US
But this is kinda weird that one would need it in this game...
10+30=40 Obvious?
20+30=50 Same...
30+30=60 -> :00 on timer
40 + 30 just think that it's 20 up to 60 and then 10 more.
50 + 30 is 10 up to 60 which leaves 20 more.
Only those two last ones would maybe be new to your brain so that is 2(!) things to remember. You should just bash this into your head tbh, should take less time than creating your set up there. :p
I found it was my multimonitor setup, too. I mitigate it by using a tool called Monitor Profile Switcher to quickly switch to a single monitor setup before I launch the game.
Link to download here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/monitorswitcher/
Rage was in developement for a few years before Zenimax bought id. Its not a bethesda game, its an id game. The reason RAGE "servers" are still up is because it allows for selfhosted p2p gameplay, exactly what the youtube video I linked about Lawbreakers discusses.
i dont know yamagi, but i know theres this modern port https://www.moddb.com/mods/quake-2-xp
and fyi, original quake 2 still works on modern pc's
you just need to change your resolution settings in the console. wide and high res arent in the original list but you can make them work manualy.
set r_mode "-1"
set r_customwidth "1920"
set r_customheight "1080"
set cl_widescreen_fov "0"
set fov "90"
substitute your screen resolution and fov preference in the above commands
While the calculator linked in the OP is fine, there is a very slight error in the Optional QL converter -- I forgot to multiply the QL arclength coefficient by QL zoom sens. This doesn't affect the results of the calculator in any way, just a small correction for the optional module.
Here's the corrected calculator:
Use this instead.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Mouse-Rate-Checker.shtml
Do circular motions within the window and tell me if it is or isn't stable at 1000Hz, my latest 4 mice have all been stable at 1000Hz with minimal variation when checking for stability +-50Hz.
Obviosuly a mouse is only going to poll for every dot you move, so you have to move it at 1000 dots per second for it to poll at 1000Hz.
It looks like you're struggling a little with mouse control. Might want to make sure you're using the flat mouse accel profile in libinput (might not be applicable for you) and switch over to lower overall sensitivity, plus maybe a little mouse accel in game.
Otherwise, try not to jump onto people with rail out in the open -- you'll generally get out-DPS'd pretty hard by good players. So maybe try use rockets more, but slow down your aim with them so you're not aiming so short, and so you're thinking about where they are likely to go/dodge to, and can aim accordingly.
Oops, good catch, correcting now.
Edit: nvm the typo is in the Desmos, if I correct it will be a new link which I can’t change.
The correct colour codes should be as follows:
Red is crouchslide
Green is circlejump
Blue is bunny hop
Orange Is strafejump
Here's one with the typos fixed:
You're the reason I did :)
I was actually working more on this one, but it's not done yet. I think the formulas are more clean here. I still need to calculate what your effective health is. But this one will allow you to factor in a weapon switch.
For example, vs rail if you have 60 health, the wasted armor threshold is 31. At 31 armor, it will only just allow you survive 1 rail shot and die to 2, but any more armor than this and you will still die to 2 rail shots. But if you factor in that your opponent could switch to LG after the first rail, which is more realistic, then having more than 31 armor could still help you survive more LG shots. With the graph above, it comes out to 94 armor instead. So 60/94 means that if you have 60 health and your opponent rails you once and then switches to LG to finish you off, 94 armor is the max armor that would contribute to your survivability.
Switch = -1 means don't switch, so it will just use the main weapon; switch = 0 means switch immediately, so it will just use the finisher weapon. Switch > 0 means it will fire that many main weapon shots, then switch to the finisher weapon.
You can also set the weapon profiles directly on this one, or you can use 0 and then set a custom weapon damage and ROF value instead. You can also change 'qtype' to 1 in the 'Quake Variables' folder to see what it looks like in other Quake games (Quake 1 to Quake Live).
No, you made two mistakes:
QC scales by vertical FOV, not 16:9 FOV. First convert the hipfire and zoom FOVs to vertical using the sidebar (79 -> 49.753293, 103 -> 70.5328), giving you 0.70539 zoom scalar.
Overwatch has a much lower zoom FOV. If you use the same zoom sens then it will feel way too fast. Take 0.70539 and find the scalar above focal length scaling ( tan39.5deg/tan51.5deg = 0.6557) which gives a coefficient of 1.075773988 times of focal length scale. You have two choices in adapting it to OW: 1) just apply the coefficient and apply to OW's focal length ratio directly (0.3794 * 1.075773988 = 0.408152384 = ~41%), or 2) interpolate the coefficient through focal lengths to achieve the same gain rate, in which case it's(1+(1.075773988-1)*(1-0.3794)/(1-0.6557))*0.3794 = 0.431224045235 = ~43% scope sens.
Give both 41 and 43 a try, see which one you likes better.
EDIT: here's some calculations: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/lrej8kgxi4
I'd check if he have enough RAM/Swap because otherwise the computer will crash like he describes. I good way to check it out is with MangoHUD.
The crash happens sooner with higher graphics settings because high quality textures require more RAM/VRAM.
Oh it works great, I recorded a couple of videos recently. If you install it using Lutris, you don't really need to do anything else.
In my case everything is working except the actual gameplay. It crashes before the match start. But the menus work at 60fps+. This is promising.
This likely just apply to people who run their hardware at max when playing the game.
You can monitor your performance with something like MSI Afterburner and RTTS to see how both your RAM, GPU and CPU are being utilized.
If you are close to maxing out your CPU utilization, or running at max RAM when playing, it might be a good idea to close several other applications.
You might also be interested in Quetoo. Rather than a remaster, this one's actually more like a remake. There's couple changes such as the inclusion of Q3-like plasma gun, has an LG and they made movement bit more forgiving (and faster) than in the original game. You don't need original Quake 2 to run this, very simple install.
i have not watched ql esports in a while, i'm really surprised about how the quality of the stream and the official website/information improved. didnt expect them to still put in a lot of work at the current popularity.
the links in the youtube description mention "character bios", do they work? can't actually open them on their site. https://quake.bethesda.net/en/esports?utm_source=Bethesda&utm_medium=referral
would be great to get some info about maxter, dont know anything about him

"While the Quake Pro League will showcase the current best players in the world, hungry challengers will have their chance to unseat the pros in the Quake Challengers! Weekly online competitions in parallel to the Quake Pro League are open to all players in NA, SA, EU, and CIS. The top four highest-ranked Challengers (2 from NA/SA and 2 from EU/CIS) in a stage will also be flown to offline events! ..."

I assume this will be on FaceIt.
Correct.
It was announced in March (Duel, year long, etc etc)
From that announcement:
"We’ve witnessed some of the most exhilarating moments in esports across our Quake Champions tournaments, and we’re just getting started! Our world-class competitors will once again get the chance to prove their skill in the new year-long 2019-2020 season, which kicks off with a Duel tournament at QuakeCon 2019 and leads up to a World Championship at QuakeCon 2020—the 25th year of QuakeCon!
There’s much more news to come about how we’re restructuring our esports season this year, and we’re excited to share it with you soon!"

Will see if this all still holds true.....

I don't have to prove something that should be known by you, something that is stated in the official news feed of the game. You are saying they are not working on the performance issues and that they don't care. They have stated they are working on it. You are the one talking out of your ass without proving squat. Did you just get a thought and state a dumb thing without checking around whether it was true or if there was anything supporting your statement? And you are asking ME to show proof of my statement? Hypocrite.
They are doing SOMETHING to make the performance better, which means they are either making improvements to existing code or rewriting. I am not making it up, it's reasonable thinking, given that they are working on performance, which they have stated they are.
It did help, it was worse previously. It's still bad, but it has been worse.
Didn't say they had been at it for a year.
Well, you see how many champs, maps and gamemodes there are in the game right now. Now add the info you can get from the official roadmap that the devs provided (https://quake.bethesda.net/en/news/6158PL52qQCmQGA2U2y2GC). We already had the summer patch. Oh, and today during the community stream the devs said that the fall update(s) will have 4, not 2 gamemodes and that one of the new maps is the longest yard.
Oh, I see. That was a patch when they fixed a bug with stuttering when you move. I found it out few days before the patch and was going to post a detailed review with plots and videos but after that patch it became irrelevant. Before that patch you had severe drops every time you press/release a movement key. (you can find a line in the patch notes which says "Fixed issues with champions jitter while moving" https://quake.bethesda.net/en/news/5neso2wc6sYIIyMkwY0ikA . I guess they mean actually the same thing)
The mesh plan was dropped in favour of multiple shapes around the body/head/limbs that they can adjust, it's been that way since the January 25th update:
You can use this https://github.com/randyrants/sharpkeys
SharpKeys is a utility that manages a Registry key that allows Windows to remap one key to any other key.
We still need the details of the rest of your system to actually try and help really.
CPU-Z is free, pretty much an industry standard app now, and will tell you your full CPU name, and on the memory tab it would be useful to be told how much ram you have, the DRAM Frequency and the "Channel #" setting at the top.
GPU Driver version? (right click the desktop, pull up the nvidia control pannel, and then get the version from help -> system information.
Motherboard, Operating system, any extra cards you have plugged in would be useful to just to save time asking later if there's nothing immediately obviously wrong.
(isn't it great when you're auto downvoted just for trying to help people)
I just figured out that apparently the issue #2 had to be released on the 4th of october. I don't know why it is already available on the Google Play Store.
Anyway, i searched for the comic on Amazon.com but apparently listings only address to Kindle versions (or to the pre-order for the paperback, released on the 6th of february)
Then there's this
or this
Both are not shipped by Amazon, but i can't find anything else, sorry.
I'll bite one last time.
>Nah man, I get your point and it's not completely invalid
Just know that the reasons I gave you are the exact same reasons anyone with any experience in modding and any actual technical know how will tell you.
>it isn't really feasible for a lot of users at this point in time
That's a very noble reason you give and certainly valid but it's also very separate from the demands for modding ability right now. There will be no mods or maps made in a relevant time frame. If they want to release an SDK for that express purpose I think that's great but just realize that it in no way satisfies the actual demands for modding right now.
>But then, modding was never a thing for a lot of users. Even in the most modded games (think Elder Scrolls) only a small fraction of the user base actually uses mods You're making an extremely apples to oranges comparison. The accessibility and amount of people who make mods for games like Skyrim are several orders of magnitude greater than the amount of people who will ever be able to make mods for id Tech. Think about how long Rage has been out. Carmack released a mod toolkit for it. Look how many mods it has. Literally no real mods. id Tech 5 is or was some pretty impressive stuff. Surely you'd think after 8 years we'd have some great mod come of it just from the engine alone? Nope.
>So, yes, "nobody would do that" is statistically true, but it's true for any game that can be modded, with or without studio support.
No. It's a world of difference.
I was blown away by what the creators of Arcane Dimensions managed to achieve. Or Quake 1.5.
Sure I love DOOM 2016 much more, but it doesn't make those less impressive.
The Ranger is full when you open it, it's the preview that was clipped.
For any future prints you're trying to do of anything, I found them just via google images, when you hit the tools button you can set a size to seek for :)
Zoom sensitivity in relation to "normal" sensitivity is pretty fucked up in QC, maybe this will help you (it saved me a great deal of frustration): https://www.desmos.com/calculator/jmmdepjbz6
/u/everythingllbeok made this, btw.
Unkind. KYnerd here.
I think he is saying you can still embed it while making it a text post. Most people even have RES which allows them to expand out stuff like SoundCloud and such. You should check out /r/podcasts and also submit there and maybe use their format.
I like the format they use and use it for the Full Tech Podcast which also talks about quake sometimes.
It seems that "only" the gameservers run on AWS now as the gameclient still has lots of connections to Azure IPs, which means that the backend/matchmaking/etc. is still on Azure.
Gameserver/netcode performance wise I am very sure that Azure or AWS does not make a difference.
In terms of coverage/server locations Azure would be better as they are working on datacenters in Southafrica to go online soon, where AWS has nothing in the works.
https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/global-infrastructure/ https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/regions/
It would be wise to use both AWS and Azure as well as throw in some bare metal servers in locations that these do not cover (yet)
You can get the entry pack for 4.99:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/611500/Quake_Champions/
I hate to be rude but if ya'll can't afford 4.99 each my advice would to rethink your priorities...
This "update" put me off QC for a while. I dont want to play Quake-Fortnight.
Just got myself Quake 1 The Offering from GOG and installing Quake Epsilon Build v2.54 to get the hd look and will play that for a while.
Hopefully Bethesda and ID will revert this crap as it looks like QC is bleeding players and they dont have that many to begin with.
Keep in mind that there is a TON of WIP stuff in this PTS patch, and this was made very clear by the devs with breadcrumbs left everywhere. It's quite likely that they released this patch much earlier than typical in order to quell community unrest, giving a favour of an "early look" at what's coming.
I would be extremely surprised if they didn't fix this by the end of this PTS cycle and make it a straight multiplier or explicit sensitivity along with adding toggle zoom; it would take a special kind of incompetence not to do so.
I just hope they don't screw it up by over-zealously shoving another prescriptive attempt at incorrectly scaling sensitivity by angles.

I believe scope fov was locked to 79 before this update.
100% arclength is what you want, not a matched hipfire sensitivity unless you want 1:1 distance, which makes no sense with a zoomed fov.
Everything is preference though when it comes to game setup / sensitivity values and in-game feel. There is no "CORRECT" setting, especially because you cannot match sensitivity per unit distance across different FoV values.
buy from green man gaming and give out the keys.

bethesda keys thou, but anyone using f2p version on steam can login and redeem the keys using the bethesda id and continue using the game on steam.
First, pro strats on thermal paste, I like to draw a smile face. 😀
Secondly, If you want a lot of the characters you listed off, check out Quake Champions: Doom Edition. https://www.moddb.com/mods/quake-champions-doom-edition
Finally, while I wouldn't expect and of those third party characters to make it into the game, whether you like it or not I do believe we'll be seeing a cast of Bethesda characters. I can imagine next years E3 adding Dragonborne to the game, making him/her free for a week, and including a Fus Roh Dah Arcade Mode where everybody is Dragonborne with only access to the ability and perhaps the gauntlet too. Would bring in a lot of players.
This wasn't anti-cheat related though. While many made a big fuss about anti-cheat 'doing it again', it was just an unimplemented Windows system call:

Would you ever consider reviewing cheaper mice which are probably knock offs? For example a lot of these mice seem to reuse various parts from other mice but are probably questionable quality:

This one seems eerily similar body to some other mice:

Maybe there is a diamond in the rough for only $10-20 there.

If you don't understand what power is, here is a foolproof explanation of what it is
EDIT: small typo in screenshot: the black annotation should say specific power not specific strafejump power, this has been corrected in the above link. Also the dotted power curves arbitrarily ends at the intersection with the strafejump specific power for visual clarity, in actuality it should continue to extend downwards.
> I'd have to do each individual fov for it to be accurate.
Yes, you can use this calculator to illustrate that.
Just upload your screenshot and resize it to 1920x1080 if it's 16:9, then move the points around to match your lines to identifiable features.
You can find some servers here: https://www.gametracker.com/search/etqw/ When you select the servers, you can look at the historical data for the last 30 days to see how many people have been on and when. Sometimes a clan that runs a server will have very specific times that they play.
You can probably do this for many of the near dead games you play.
The servers are still up...it's the browser that's currently broken. You can find servers to join by looking at this link: https://www.gametracker.com/search/ql/US/
Hey guys, I want to thank you all for all the support you've been giving me with the Champion Theme album I'm doing! Which champion theme do you want to hear the most out of the remaining? Let me know here:
I realize that, but I live in Houston and its just drizzling.
Looking at the radar I don't think Dallas has even seen the storm yet.
