Ebook reader, CBR and Manga/Comic streaming apps would all be awesome. As for Netflix, if it isn't possible maybe a port of Popcorn Time? Source code can be downloaded here: https://popcorn-time.to/source.html
Get an 8bitdo wireless adapter! I actually just picked one up for other games and I have been using my ps4 controller on the switch. Sadly I think your biggest problem will be that let’s go doesn’t support pro controllers and only uses the buttons to throw the ball in handheld mode.
Here it is on amazon though i have seen it around other places!
Edit: If anyone ends up buying a set, make sure to use smile.amazon.com and not just Amazon.com
That way a small portion of the sale gets donated to the charity of your choice. Personally, I chose The Electronic Frontier Foundation.
in case anyone doesn't know it exists there's already a gamecube style pro controller for the switch on amazon

not trying to one up or anything I just know people who would want to see it will be on this post
>I just wanted the dongle.
Precisely me too. If they crack it open to benefit open source cfw, fantastic! If not, oh well! I bought it just for the convenience of the dongle. And having options is always nice. And now I have my 256gb sd card coming so I'm all set.
Edit: This is the Sandisk Micro SD Card I ordered off Amazon. My personal preference is Sandisk, I've tried Samsung Evo cards (bought in store) but on every occasion within 2 months they corrupted from mild usage. But this'll do the job nicely.
Besides what OP said, I just upload it to the Switch from my phone using FTP (I use FTPD Snap! on the Switch as well as AndFTP on my Android). Just delete the old hbmenu .nro file before uploading the new one, and you're good.
Thank you for creating something for the Switch Hacking community, always much appreciated. Nice work!
I would recommend publishing it on GitHub, though. You can offer a download of the finished/compiled binary there, the community can contribute and easily check the source code. I just wanted to check your source code but couldn‘t because I‘m on mobile.
Also, GitHub doesn‘t delete your file(s) - those shared file hosters like MediaFire do after a certain time if you‘re not subscribed there. Not sure if MediaFire does that, but most others do.
Question: Is the logic to rename the saves complicated? Because if not, I think that you‘d easily be able to write the same program with Electron which automatically makes it cross platform. If you‘ve never heard of Electron, you might be surprised to hear that you may have been using Electron apps already: Github‘s and Microsoft‘s code editors Atom and Visual Studio Code as well as the Discord desktop client are all written in Electron!
Anyway, I‘m not meaning to offend you or anything, just offering my thoughts and ideas - I know it‘s just small program, but at least for me, trying out new things is fun! :-)
slickdeals comes up w/ $62.80 USD
In Australia we've been getting samsung evo plus 256gb microsds for $83-90+ AUD regularly (definitely bought one for $83 AUD if i date it back exchange rate to mid june ~62 USD or 59USD currently)
The new models are apparently exploitable using Deja Vu since they are firmware version 4.x.x.
Personally, I would buy when you arrive. Keep an eye on this website for Switch deals. The community here are like hounds for deals.
If you have a US address or PO box established you could technically buy right now. Here is a deal on eBay where you can buy a grey Nintendo Switch for $255, free shipping FedEX (within USA) at the moment. Use code "Primo119" to lower price to $255. The included case seems ok but the screen protector looks like shit.
Because such cables are much rarer and might not meet regulation like USB-C cables do. USB Type-C cables have been notorious for not following the standards, notably not using a 56kOhm pull-up resistor. As such, the cable can cause power surges, frying some USB ports... Or worse, depending on the device.
Furthermore, the Switch in itself is not USB Type-C compliant.
So if you mix a cord that will likely not be compliant with a device that isn't compliant, you're risking a bunch.
I had a USB Type-C cable that didn't have that resistor. Plugged my phone into a school laptop to charge and got rapid notifications saying the bridge was having multiple surges. Unplugged immediately, they acted a little wonky for a while probably because Windows 10 protected them, but no permanent damage.
Just... You're way better off using a known-good USB Type-C cable and an OTG adapter. Ask a friend with a USB Type-C Android device to check a cable for you with CheckR
Windows games will sometimes have an ico in their root folder, but usually they will be inside of the main exe and can be extracted using something like Resource Hacker.
The placement and format of icons in roms will vary from system to system.
> A cross platform tool could be built with Electronjs.
I have experience with Elecron and React - was considering taking the orgniser code and seeing if I can adapt it to make a cross-platform build. Seeing as other people are interested I might actually go ahead and look into it! :) Anyone else interested in helping out?
I'll do you one better, find that clause for any of these VPNS:
NordVPN
ProtonVPN
ExpressVPN
PrivateInternetAccess
Mullvad
You're also welcome to find examples of them ruining their reputation and business to pass a copyright claim onto their users or giving their users data up over copyright info.
Seriously, CHANGE YOUR VPN.
For me It was listed for $63 and the Samsung U3 of the same size for 73$ . I would say the extra 10 bucks are a good option considering the tests of Skullator
I hacked my Switch using this tutorial (sorry it's in Spanish) and I let it run out of battery. I used tegra to inject the payload and Hekate to set it all up. I installed my games with Awoo Installer. I read that if you turn the Switch off completely or, in this case, it runs out of battery, you have to hack it again. My question is: Is there a way I can restore my previous games installed? Some of them are inside the SD card and some of them in the Switch internal memory. I would at least like to maintain my saved games. Thanks in advance.
Are you unable to get another Nintendo branded charging cable? Or is the goal primarily to get a USB C cable to connect to other things? If the latter, despite what you may think, you’re almost guaranteed to not brick your device with a basic cable. The only real reason you might is if you go out of your way to buy the cheapest possible cable, or one from a Dollar Tree or Dollar General.
Now if it must be something “good” you could go with a name brand cable like Anker, or see about buying a cable for a Samsung phone. The only thing is these are overpriced, and they aren’t really “good”. They just aren’t bad.
You should be fine with most choices so long as they aren’t insanely or unreasonably cheap. If you’re still worried and need someone to give you an EXACT item, then I can safely say I’ve used these to connect my switch to the PC and inject payloads. This is also a tiny cable I bought ages ago for a different reason. These are both fairly cheap and some random knockoff Chinese brand. That should at least help to reassure you that it’s really not that likely to damage a switch from something like this.
I've had really good luck running the MelonDS homebrew from atmosphere. I don't know if it's faster than running a ds emulator off android, but I suspect the preferable option changes on a game-by-game basis.
Please help me with the Yuzu Quickstart Guide:
https://yuzu-emu.org/help/quickstart/
I've followed the instructions and can't pass step 2h. The screen doesn't flash blue and tegrarcmgui freezes up and doesn't deliver the payload.
What could be the problem? All I can think of is a bad cable (I've already checked if my switch is compatible, it is) But if its a bad cable then how does Tegra detect RCM?
I can't find any answers so I'm hoping someone else had the same problem. Thank you.
When I use hekate to dump pretty much anything on my SD card which is seated in a SD card reader in my computer, hekate will say "failed to dump to SD card". I don't know what I should do now, my serial number is in the recommended area BUT my firmware version is 7.0.1. Is this an issue with hekate or the firmware version? I'm trying to get the files out for Yuzu and I'm using this guide https://yuzu-emu.org/help/quickstart/ .
Hello,
I'm new to the subreddit and was hoping for some advice before I make a potential mistake with my rare FW 1.0.0.
I followed this guide to backup the NAND: https://yuzu-emu.org/help/quickstart/
I understand that my FW version is rare and most guides I see recommend selling it rather then upgrading it.
I bought Super Smash Bros and I'm content only playing it offline but I'm worried it will force a firmware update if I try to play it. I'm wondering if there is any downside to using ChoiDujourNX to upgrade to a firmware that can run Super Smash Bros Ultimate and downgrading later back to 1.0.0.
I'm interested in using this Switch for emulators as well if I'm allowed to say so, not sure how relevant this is to my firmware version choice.
Thank you in advance!
Try running it on the PC using Ren'Py 7.3.5. Download the Ren'Py 7.3.5 SDK here: https://www.renpy.org/release/7.3.5
Make a new folder, then copy the following files and folders from the SDK into that folder: renpy.app
, renpy.exe
, renpy.py
, renpy.sh
, lib
, and renpy
.
After you have done that, go to the folder that contains your game, and copy the folder game
to the new folder.
Now, run renpy.app
, renpy.exe
, or renpy.sh
, depending on your platform. If there are any errors, fix them until the game works.
Use a virtual machine to run Linux, should still work and you won't have to mess with your partitions.

If you're in the business of making a generic downloader, would be great to add support for link premiumizers like Real Debrid, they are commonly used as alternatives for buying premium for every file hoster. I use it for downloading megaupload links as it increases the download speeds and you don't get the limits.
Thanks! Does this alternate version do anything for ya?

This one skips over a couple folders with known-finickiness.
Players on CFW can play together, aswell on a banned console. This essentially makes your Nintendo Switch and Internet think the people you are connecting with are all on the same network (Lan Play).
There are versions of this program for Linux, windows 32bit and windows 64bit.
To play with your friends, you and your friends should run lan-play client connecting to the same Server on your PC, and set static IP on your Switch. Your PC and Switch must be connected to the same router.
WINDOWS CLIENT
Download and install WinPcap from https://www.winpcap.org/install/default.htm
Download the latest lan-play.exe from the github link in title
Run lan-play.exe with paramter --relay-server-addr. For example: lan-play.exe --relay-server-addr example.com:11451
After that, you may see the list like below:
Select the interface which is in the same LAN whith your Switch.
SWITCH Make sure lan-play client is running.
Go to your Switch settings page, set the IP address to static. The IP address can be any from 10.13.0.1 to 10.13.255.254, excepting 10.13.37.1. But don't use the same IP address with your friend.
IP Address 10.13.?.? Subnet Mask 255.255.0.0 Gateway 10.13.37.1
SOCKS5 Proxy
lan-play --socks5-server-addr example.com:1080
Data sent to the relay server does not pass through the proxy.
The things they've "created" are hacky and they had to wait for others to do 90% of the work for them before "creating" them.
Reminder that they're so incompetent that this happened.
Would someone mind helping me set up Retroarch - I just can't get it running
Here are some pictures and an explanation of how i've got my SD card set up and the errors I'm getting: https://www.notion.so/Switch-Help-d0b40f56be904e39901c411f8de57cbf
I'm not very technically minded so i've probably got something set up wrong or i'm not using Retroarch correctly. I have to admit I find all of this stuff very confusing. I've managed to get SX OS 2.7 running, Updated my Firmware to 8.0.1 with ChoiDujourNX, all games installed and running but I just can't get my head around Retroarch/Emulation.
I've followed a couple of guides but didn't really understand them. That being said I've got the files placed on the SD card where I believe its meant to be but launching a ROM simply doesn't work. I've tried a number of different games but the console either has an error/freezes or kicks me back the SX OS menu with a message about no roms found. The link containing pictures should properly explain the problem.
Thank you for all your help
Bout to take the plunge but wondering if I should:
get a cheap jig in 2 days from Amazon
order the Atmosphere Injector (looks like Aliexpress is the go-to safe bet?) and wait a month from China
Is the main advantage with the injector that you don't need to hook it up to your computer everytime you need to boot into RCM?
Also, I'm on an early gen console (XAW1003) and 6.2.0, and I've seen some guides. Seems like I shouldn't have any issues right away...
...But one thing I remember about hacking the wii was that updates were packaged with big games (mario, etc...) and it could be a pain playing the newer games with a hacked console. Is this currently an issue with the switch? Have people had to wait for ReinX or what-have-you to catch up in order to play, say, Smash?
Thanks!
Protip for SDs:
Phone app support would be great! You probably already know about JoyCon Droid https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rdapps.gamepad&hl=en so it should be possible.
I don't think basstop is to blame for this. I bought the clear purple one and replaced my switch and joycons and had the ZL circuit button break in the same way as well. I ordered a broken joy con off ebay to replace it and it broke the exact same way. So I ended up buying a 3rd party made one which worked fine but I think nintendo is to blame here not Basstop. Link to 3rd party replacement: https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Button-Ribbon-Nintendo-Controller/dp/B078RQNTG6/
PureVPN maybe another one to check out. I bought lifetime access for £50 through XDA's market place about a year ago.
I have to contact support every 5 years to tell them to renew it, but it's free. Seems to be pretty good performance wise, and if you need it they offer a DDoS protection thing as an extra for something like £5 a month (especially good in games like GTA Online where modders can see your IP using certain menus).
Have you purchased a usb c to sd/micro sd reader and confirm it's working? Was thinking of grabbing this.
or
If this is a problem I wonder if this would be an easy fix: "Black USB 3.0 Female to Dual USB Male Extra Power Data Y Extension Cable for 2.5" Mobile Hard Disk CableCC" from amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZUE6PVE/ref=sxbs_sxwds-stppvp_3?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=d45777d6-4c64-4117-8332-1659db52e64f&pd_rd_wg=rIr3D&pf_rd_r=7W089EDDDY6P6R5HK1KD&pf_rd_s=desktop-sx-bottom-slot&pf_rd_t=301&pd_rd_i=B00ZUE6PVE&pd_rd_w=iwlmM&pf_rd_i=y+cable&pd_rd_r=df8512f0-62f1-498a-a9da-cbd7f2965c45&ie=UTF8&qid=1539789822&sr=3
> OTG
Do you think something like this would work? Replied to the wrong comment before rofl
The specific one I got isn't listed anymore. I think they might've replaced it with a newer model. This one looks identical though and it's the same price I paid for mine. I don't think it matters if it's an Xbox One or One S controller: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZFPJLQ
That probably will work. I just happened to have the OTG cable already. I'm looking into maybe combining these 2 things (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079N9PTFT/?coliid=I2DKIGASVZNDJB&colid=NTHSI7X0N5V0&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072BKWQGX/?coliid=I207QSGVC6NTTG&colid=NTHSI7X0N5V0&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it ) to make it really like a dongle, but I'm probably not going to spend any more money on this thing. It works now and fits in my switch case
Instead of getting a USB (microB male to A female) OTG cable + a USB A to C cable (or a similar combination), can't we just get any microB to C cable such as this (short!) one or there's such a thing as some specifics for OTG applying to the cables themselves?
Instead you can mod your existing one and just change the case to a small case like the one pictured.
BASSTOP Portable Nintendo Switch Dock Replacement Case ( Only the case, you have to DIY with the circuit board chip from the original dock ) (Red) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073S667M6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_numoBbB3STGPX
I was looking into a short micro-to-c cable like this. I'm not too familiar with them though, would the "host" side being the USB-C end cause me issues? Makes it sound like data only flows one way, and it would be the wrong way for his application, correct?
I bought this cable from amazon and had no issues injecting a payload on my Switch using that cable (and tin foil for the pins)
> micro USB to USB female(B)
Buy it from amazon here.
sorry to bother you but would it be possible to use this and if so how would I wire it. https://www.amazon.com/Cylewet-Plastic-Battery-Storage-Arduino/dp/B01MZ52HVP/ref=sr_1_12?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1530055309&sr=1-12&keywords=battery+holder
Apparently there are 30 colors from them but not all are clear
is the dongle anything more than a usb-c thumb drive? any chance in grabbing something like this and using it for Atmosphere once it's released? granted it's not much cheaper (unless you go with the 32gb) and will require some configuration, but it does have the added convenience of a usb 3.0 connector as well as the ability to be used as a normal everyday thumb drive.
forgive me if i'm way off. i'm more of a tutorial follower than having any real knowledge about this kind of stuff.
Do you think this will work? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N4NBHPM
According to the description, this was released on 3 Mars 2017, and from Nintendo's website the firmware version at that date was 2.0.0
