For transparency, OP works for a recruiting firm out of Omaha and is specifically targeting the Des Moines market. You can find more information here:

I wish he would have said that outright instead of me spending 15 seconds researching (I could have gotten coffee, dangit!). Don't think there are any bad intentions, but I love transparency on phishing questions like these.
But to answer your question since I would assume you're trying to IMPROVE on the mistakes of your peers, there's nothing more annoying than 10 million LinkedIn messages asking me to move from my current career. Even after telling people that I'm perfectly content in my position/company, I've received repeated follow-ups.
So yes, don't do that.
I used Fi across the state on multiple RAGBRAIs, in addition to living in the metro. From my experience on RAGBRAI, the combination of Sprint, T-Mo, and US Cellular can beat out Verizon or AT&T any day. My biggest recommendation for anybody using Fi, however, is to download one of the third-party apps that allow you to manually switch network at will. Personally, I used Signal Spy, but there are other similar apps to choose from. Every so often, it seems my Nexus 6 would struggle to select the best network, and it's nice to have the option to force it to change instead of waiting. For instance, my N6 would regularly insist on trying to use T-Mobile at my work, where coverage was spotty at best. I'd force it over to Sprint and be all set for the day. As time went on, I feel like I didn't have to manually switch as often.
I currently am on Cricket, because I often stream EPL matches on mobile, and that shit gets expensive on Fi, as its pricing model rewards light data users. A 2-hr football match could wind up costing $20 to stream on Fi.
I did switch back to Fi temporarily during a trip to Europe last spring, and it was really convenient to use my same phone number to send texts and use data at the same $10/GB rate as I did in the States. And since I don't really talk on the phone anyway, the expensive international minutes were of no concern.
Got an update through Nextdoor that she was found. nextdoor link saying the dog was found
Did you see the groupon? It's worth every cent if you use the groupon, imho. https://www.groupon.com/deals/blank-park-zoo-2-14
I feel it's quicker to get in when you have a groupon, too, compared to those buying their tickets at the door.
I’m sure there’s a similar app for Android but a great app to find locations for food plus a listing of events.
Go read The Gang They Couldn't Catch. It's about a actual group of criminals from Des Moines who got to the FBI's most wanted list pulling for creating new ways to rob banks and eventually pulling off the largest bank robbery in history at that time (early 80's).
Anyway (spoilers ahead) while they were under indictment they had backchannels through the prison system and fed details to another inmate at an entirely different prison in another state who confessed that he did the job so that he could get transported for trial so he could attempt to escape custody in transit.
Basically inmates say lots of things for a variety of reasons that you are just not privy to.

After using zero water and Brita, I switched to this.
Just be careful that you find ways to get the minerals into your body that all these filters remove.
Hmmm, Amazon reviewer on 12/2 wasn’t very favorable, indicating it is very light on recipies.

Part of the review:
>You might think from the title this book is chock full of recipes from some of they city's great, late restaurants. You'd be wrong. There is a formula for Younker's rarebit sauce which has circulated widely for years. A few salad dressing offerings, a soup course from Babe's and, again not hard to find with scant searching, a steak de burgo.
I mean for day to day financial advice I would check out http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/ it has a different philosophy than most (which you can take or leave) but some of the advice is really good. For investing I would read "A Random Walk Down Wall Street". Or anything by John C Bogle Also, the guy who wrote the Rich Dad Poor Dad books filed for bankruptcy in 2012... so... YMMV
I use Scanner Radio for Android. You can custom set a different number of listeners that triggers an alert for different channels or just for channels within a certain distance of you. I really like it.
Mayhem Collectibles in Clive is a comic book, board game, miniatures type of place with an attached gaming room. Jay's CD and hobby as already mentioned is similar. Hobby Haven in Urbandale is more like models, trains, giant old wargames and RC stuff. Meetup.com has some board game groups and stuff in the DM area. Old School pinball and arcades in Grimes is fun.
~~Appts are available in Des Moines right now~~. If you miss this round, try setting up a scraper with visualping.io, its not super straightforward but I had it checking every 15 minutes since 8AM and just got a notification spots were open. Bonus its the J&J one-shot.
A couple years back, my daughter wanted to try astrophotography, so I used one of the dark sky mapping sites to locate a spot that was within an hour's drive and found this spot NW of Menlo. It was good but not great. Humidity makes a big difference, so this is not the best time of year.
Good luck! I expect to see pictures if that's your goal.
Also, for anyone interested in local recommendations like this, I recommend using the Nextdoor app or going to nextdoor.com. It's like social networking but with your neighbors in your neighborhood. Some "neighborhoods" are just a block or two. Some neighborhoods are actual Des Moines neighborhoods. Anyway, if you click on "Recommendations" on the left-hand side of the website, you'll see recommendations from your neighbors on everything from who to go to for cabinet repair work to who to go to for tree removal. You can send messages to anyone in your neighborhood, or include people in surrounding neighborhoods. People will also post their garage sales and stuff on there. It's great.
Why buy catnip when you can buy the seeds easy? It takes very little to grow, it's essentially a weed. All you really need is a solo cup full of dirt with a hole poked in the bottom (or a nicer planter if you're into the aesthetics). You can get the seeds on Amazon or similar. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XRN3KG6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_5dybCbJF4EF54
You could probably also check around garden centers, but they don't normally have seeds this time of year. Some pet stores also carry the live plants already started.
Amazon (link). Or just get like 7 sets of dice for $10. I believe Mayhem have the same, or very similar, dice for a similar price. If you want to go even cheaper, I'm sure you can get them direct from China via AliExpress or DX.
I bought mine on Amazon. They are what I remember from when I was a kid.

Lol your response confirms you definitely haven't read Legendary Children. You're probably thinking of something else, or just getting confused because it's got "Children" in the title. Normally I'd suggest swinging by Plain Talk Books, Storyhouse, or Beaverdale Books to see if they have it -- you know, support local -- but if I recall correctly, that's yet another thing you hate so here's the Amazon link.
Anyways, I fell for your trap again and I kept feeding you. Good on you, bad on me, haha. But I'm done now. Unless you want the names of a couple good therapists I know that are far more professional than that inappropriate doctor experience you had.
He really loves the Temptations brand creamy purée treats like this one
> You are correct that I assumed you don't support states rights except when it is convenient, since you didn't explicitly say one way or the other. I freely admit that.
> So I gave you the chance to prove my assumptions wrong by asking you to explain your position. You chose not to, so I asked you a simple question in another attempt to clarify your position: Do you support overturning Roe so abortion can go to the states?
It's interesting that you freely admit to making such flawed assumptions and, rather than seek to prove them out, attempt to again invert burden of proof.
It's not on me to support your claims.
My position is already clear.
> It's a simple yes or no so we can have a discussion of your positions, rather than my assumptions about your positions.
We're already having the discussion.
> That's because you never clearly explain them, even when given the opportunity. Seems like you'd rather try to gotcha people in a broken record loop of pedantic debate nitpicking. If you just cry bad faith enough you never have to defend your views.
That's... laughably hypocritical coming from the person trying to put words in my mouth.
You can avoid callouts of bad-faith participation by not participation in bad faith e.g. repeat intentional conflation, putting words in someone's mouth, inverting burden of proof, derailing the conversation from the topic to the "nitpick" you perpetuate.
> Sure. Didn't think that I needed to explain how babies are made to you, but this resource might be a good start.
Your claim wasn't regarding how babies are made but rather reproduction being the reason to have sex.
It's a simple yes or no so we can have a discussion of your positions, rather than my assumptions about your positions.
>you seem to entirely misunderstand my views
That's because you never clearly explain them, even when given the opportunity. Seems like you'd rather try to gotcha people in a broken record loop of pedantic debate nitpicking. If you just cry bad faith enough you never have to defend your views.
If you don't want to discuss, that is fine, but let me know so we can both move on.
>Burden of proof is on you.
Sure. Didn't think that I needed to explain how babies are made to you, but this resource might be a good start.
No surprise there. Never fully trust anyone, ever, making any claims, anywhere, about the quality or condition of drinking water (or anything else for that matter). How many municipalities on Earth will say: Our water that we sell for a profit, is really bad (or just slightly bad) for your health.
Always, in all things, take it upon yourself to do all that you can, to protect your own health. Of one brand or another, I've had a tap water filter on my kitchen faucet since the 80's. Everywhere I live! Bottled drinking water is still a product made by someone else. Do they use good filters? Or even any filters? {I use distilled bottled water for equipment.}
in a kayak, i wear these for shoes. I've bought 4 pairs now and they are a bonus that they look fine outside of boating too.

The first statement is subjective, so more power to you. But on the second, dramatic license aside, you're more or less wrong.
I wouldn't be concerned. Most places don't offer a pension anymore; even our military got their pensions cut. Big companies often go in waves of massive hiring when they are busy. I work for Wells Fargo and IT is definitely 50% contractors if not more. If you are in tech, contracting is becoming more of the norm. I am a app system developer and everything is being moved to our India team or contractors. I started as a contractor myself. The sad part is as a contractor, you are usually the first to go when there are cuts. However, working in the company gives you great connections to people which eventually got me hired full time after I got let go in my contracting position. If you are interested in working full time in the company, be sure to mention it to your boss or your co-workers. I've helped hire and re-hire numerous contractors. We often bring back the same people over and over. They tend to switch between a few companies. And, if you are in IT, look at some of the meetup.com tech groups in the Des Moines area. You will meet a ton of people and have a lot of job opportunities. PS - I worked for Principle and didn't really like it but that's just me.
That's interesting. Comparing Google maps to the mine map, it looks like the old entrance was right where an elementary school sits now, and that an air shaft was just to the South.
I've been wondering if this grate to the Southwest of MLK & Hickman has anything to do with the old Madison Coal Co. mine (no. 47 on the mine map). The land around it has obviously been altered and it is a very large grate.
I will be on WHO Radio tonight at 6:05pm/18:05 to go into detail about what I have learned from citizens of Des Moines to date. Tune in on your radio or listen to the stream. https://www.iheart.com/live/1040-who-925/ Early voting has begun at the county auditors, election day is November 5th, in addition voters can request a absentee ballot anytime between now and October 25.
Not true.
"This is considered important and effective because it is expected that most of the droplets indeed fall down and reach the floor and/or evaporate before having traveled a distance of 1.5 m. However, this social distance has been defined for persons that are standing still. It does not take into account the aerodynamic effects introduced by person movement, such as walking fast, running and cycling."
Edit: adding the quotation.
Color me surprised that you called sources that you don't agree with "propaganda". It's a pretty typical response from the left when they don't have an actual argument against the information presented. I'd like to know specifically what information you disagree with that was presented in those articles so we can discuss it. No one on the left, right, or middle of the political aisle gains anything when only one side wants to actually discuss issues.
As far as saying that George Soros is free to do whatever he wants with his money, that is incorrect. He is funding groups whose intent is to remove President Trump from office, even though he legitimately won the election by having more electoral college votes. In fact, in doing so, he is committing sedition.
What is sedition? Sedition is the "incitement of resistance to or insurrection against lawful authority." source Here is another source
In regards to holding our representatives accountable, I'm all for it! What is it specifically that you are holding David Young accountable to?
>Frankly, the argument that anyone who disagrees with Trumpublicans must be getting paid
No one is making the argument that anyone who disagrees with President Trump is getting paid. The argument is that many of these "organic" protests are not organic and are being funded by people with more nefarious motives than they let on.
I taught project management at Simpson. It's something that you can pretty much completely master in one semester if you dedicate yourself to it. This book was what I used for my textbook. People will tell you to study the PMBOK, but honestly that thing is just worthless in my opinion. You should be familiar with it, but you shouldn't study from it unless you're a glutton for punishment.
All that said, as others have said, you really should get some training on Agile methodologies. Project Management has fallen out of favor in IT, though it is still used in other industries. I think it's difficult to really understand Agile and SAFe though without having first exposed yourself to traditional project management (Agile was a reaction against project management). It's very common for former project managers to pivot to scrum master roles in Agile.
Ah, gotcha. Pardon my ignorance, but is the bridge a necessary part of the trail? The map I was looking at didn't seem to cross the river.
I saw this on nextdoor. Here's a screenshot if this link to the actual post doesn't work.
Looks like it's posted through LinkedIn
Texas Roadhouse in Johnston is having an Easter special a lot of my coworkers were excited about: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=2fjAeTPwcUSCaMSa59-hshNPq9-jbD9IgH3h5k0s3KtUNDZNR1BKNzFGMDEySU1EQVBRQVNSSUk0Wi4u
Link is from their Facebook page as I imagine it looks a bit fishy.
...sigh... I'm not an idiot... the answer was researched.
Check out this link (https://tinyurl.com/dsmcrimemap) It's a crime map of Des Moines.
Now, draw rectangle (trapezoid... parallelogram, whatever) exactly as I described: from Merle Hay to Norwoodville to Easter Lake to the airport. The rectangle encapsulates most of the areas people looking for houses should avoid.
I also said:
>There are exceptions of course. There are some nice older homes that are well maintained and still inside the square (like the Beaverdale area and some of the nice homes south of Grand)
So "That's not the truth at all whatsoever" is a complete exaggeration. It's basically the ENTIRE truth, from 10,000 feet, given as a succinct answer for someone who's unfamiliar with the area... stay out of the a rectangle between those four areas, and you'll probably be fine. Go inside that rectangle, and you'd better know what you're doing.
Somewhat of a tangent, but I've been making my itineraries in Sheets using this and it's been pretty sweet. https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/travel_mapper/412821700766
Might help your planning.
You wouldn't bother with something that you cover your windshield and mirrors with?
There are a number of places in town that can give you some basic lessons. The first question is whether or not you already have a guitar.
You’d be fine with going to The Guitar Center and talking with them. They have some teachers. As does Reimans, Ye Old Guitar Shoppe (I think they still do), etc.
But the easiest, simplest, and funnest way is to use RockSmith. Here’s an Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/Rocksmith-2014-Remastered-PC-Standard-Mac/dp/B01KVVSRPW
You’d need an Xbox, ps4 or pc to run it. And your guitar ideally needs a pickup, so any “electric” guitar would work. It basically uses the guitar (or bass) as the controller and teaches you from the very beginning “literally how to put a strap on the guitar” all the way through mastery. There are thousands of songs you can learn, lessons, jams, you name it. Learning is so much easier if you can play with others and this quickly replicates that. Watch some of the YouTube videos on it and you’ll see what I mean.
I’ve played guitar for more than 35 years, used to teach. These days I just get people in RockSmith and away they go. It truly is that great of a program.
Whole Foods or waterfront. But truthfully “sushi grade” is subjective. We make sushi from this salmon & its wonderful. Also wonderful cooked. https://smile.amazon.com/365-Everyday-Value-Atlantic-Fillets/dp/B07NRCDJNX/

Hopefully this link works, I don’t post often. If you look at the comparison modems and routers there is one for $69 but that is just s modem. You would need a separate router with it. I have actually purchased two of these. One for my place and one for my mother in law. It’s a quality modem router combo. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0764HVN5J/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_EAQ8YM5ET9T72J58W3KP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
My favorite are the American flags with Trump plastered all over them. Because kneeling during the National Anthem is disrespectful to the flag, but this fucking bullshit is totally ok.
No good option around metro, I’ve been resorting to Amazon for Japanese food.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LTJDNRI
Or, you can try Gohan Market in Torrance, CA. Shipping is not cheap but they have good selection and ships fairly quick via UPS.
I'd recommend getting a small, cheap air compressor instead that you can keep in your vehicle. They are under $20, and will be there every time you need it. You can pull over on the side of the road and top off your tires, do it at home, or in a parking lot. I guarantee you won't regret the purchase. You can get something local for about $15 if you'd prefer.
If you prefer to stick with gas stations, I'm afraid I haven't found any around here that are really reliable (which is why I found my own solution).
Hey 👋 I'm on the Aisles Online team at Hy-Vee. We are working on making this experience better and clearing up the confusion between per pound / each. It's slowly being rolled out across the web, but our new Aisles Online mobile app has this experience already. I'd recommend downloading it and giving it a shot!
I have an old set of Radio Shack bunny ears, similar to this - (note this is an example! Please do not pay $130 for a pair; there's nothing special about the antenna and it should be a tenth that price) https://www.amazon.com/RadioShack-Indoor-Antenna-15-246-Radio/dp/B0050LST84
Everything but ABC comes in pretty well. Note that these work best when the two poles of the "ears" are at roughly a 90-degree angle. Try pointing one pole North (a lot of the stations broadcast from Ankeny) and one pole roughly East - or mess around to see if anything improves.
Note the problem could be your TV. I have a decade-old Samsung that seems to have degraded over time and doesn't get very good reception. A newer TV in the same location using the same antenna got much, much better service. Maybe you could borrow a TV from a friend, or look for an old DTV converter box at a thrift store just as an experiment?
This one, which I believe is on the cheaper end at $88 (it was like $50 when I got it). Probably some improved options still around the same price or less someone can hopefully weigh in on.
In looking at my Amazon purchase history I see and now remember I also bought a separate modem, since apparently (at least at the time) the dual router/modems tended to have some issues. I pasted that link below ($63 now, $30 when I bought it).
Sorry for saying I had a dual modem/router earlier since I definitely had that at one point years ago before I got these but never had to mess with them since so I completely forgot.

“Security”. A bunch of geriatrics walking around in a uniform. They have never made me feel safe. Best solution is to be aware of your surroundings and trust your instincts. If you feel uncomfortable around a person or group, trust that instinct. The Gift of Fear is an excellent read
windows that face east is a decent start. The TV towers are all near Alleman, which is due NNE from Waukee. This is what I have mounted in my attic pointed towards the towers and they all come in great! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P20CD62/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I paired it with a tablo for DVR functionality.
TP Link DOCSIS 3.0 I have this modem and it works well with Mediacom. Any Docsis 3.0 modem will work, but this is a great value. It will pay for itself within a year. I think Mediacom charges a $10 monthly modem rental fee.
I've been considering one of the new version of the Netgear C1000. My only issue is that Netgears management suite has been abysmal in the past even if the performance was good.
https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-CM1000-DOCSIS-Ultra-High-download/dp/B01I5TJGSE
New ones are like 32 dollars on amazon.
There are also knock off and cheap controllers for like 12-20ish.
Technically, wouldn't it be more like there in half the time?
>also, how are your skillz?
scratches head Well... ah... I went to your website and it notes not to contact if:
>* You're afraid of the Internet.
I am. Also, you add:
>You don't have a laptop
Well, the ones I have now are crap. The one is slower than Congress decided on what to get for lunch, and the other freezes a lot (even when it's warm out). I mean, if you want to get me this laptop here then I am pretty sure I can overcome my Internet fear thing.
