Archer (animated spy/sex comedy)
Sterling Archer (codename: Duchess) is a Secret Agent working for ISIS, a spy agency headed by his domineering mother. He works with his ex-girlfriend, her clingy new boyfriend, and an array of slightly sexually peculiar co-workers. Sexcapades galore! Fans of "Frisky Dingo", "Arrested Development" and possibly "Dr. Katz" should check it out.
“Like getting shipped to Iraq.”
In fact, the newly built barracks in Iraq had left many soldiers longing for home due to a reputation for real shoddy construction. Just pure crap.
> edit: apparently the superman magnet on the refrigerator and the action figure on the shelf count. Lame.
And even then, the magnet and the action figure didn't show up until a season or two in. This site even regards blue red or yellow clothes as a reference.
I just got back from a teaching assignment with my company that had me go to Oman, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai) then finally back to the US, which took about a month.
The whole time, I tried to use Hotspot Shield to watch Hulu, but the internet in the hotels that I stayed at in these countries was too slow to use in conjunction with the VPN, so I started using other internet sites like surfthechannel, sidereel, etc.
After a while of trying to do that with the super slow internet in the hotels, I just gave up, and went back to reading, waiting for when I came back to the US to get caught up again.
Get back, watch the three episodes of season 2 in a row, and realize that season 4 had not posted. That was when I finally saw that message.
Within 45 secs, I was watching the season 4 episode using surfthechannel.
Then, I noticed how an episode of warehouse 13 that I wanted to watch had expired yet, I was able to watch it on surfthechannel.
From that point I realized that there is really zero advantage for paying for Hulu plus versus the free account if shows are going to expire and not be available to me anyway, and the back library of shows are actually disappearing (Dollhouse no longer available for prime).
That is why it is cancelled. The SGU set it in motion.
Here's the full email on wikileaks. It's nice to see that the passive aggressive "Thanks!" signoff is used even at the highest levels of email chains.

Private therapy sessions should be private. This article is well written, but kinda long, but an important read No one should be scared to get help, to confide to a counselor and want to not act upon these thoughts. Stephen Collins confided to someone in the medical industry because he wanted to get help and all everyone heard was he is a pedophile and evil, never mind he wants to get help.
Just for fun let's do the math.
Total population of the world is 7.6 Billion
http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/
Net worth of the world in 2017 was 280 trillion USD according to Credit Suisse(they do. leave out 2.8 billion people in that). Couldn't find a more recent study.
https://www.credit-suisse.com/corporate/en/research/research-institute/global-wealth-report.html
So that's around 36,842 USD per person. Very roughly.

Here is what was said; sorry if it is imperfect...I'm typing this while listening to the video at work and trying to be clandestine about it:
"But before we start the show, there's a little matter I want to clear up. There was a little incident last week on the show: Sinead O'Connor tore up a picture of the pope, and I thought that was wrong. So I asked somebody to paste it back together..."
He shows the audience the fixed picture.
"There."
The audience applauds and cheers.
" I think thats a lot better, thank you. Okay, case closed. I mean, why should I let it bother me, right? It wasn't my show, it was Tim Robbins's show. But I'll tell you one thing, she was very lucky it wasn't my show...because if it was MY show, I would have gave her such a smack."
He says this as he makes a face-smacking gesture. The audience laughs and cheers and applauds.
"I would have grabbed her by her..."
Here, he gestures towards the top of the head, implying "hair."
"...her eyebrows. I would have..." and then he makes another lazy smacking gesture before ending it all saying that she's just a kid and why is he making himself so crazy and the pope has probably forgiven her already.
If I recall correctly, they purchased a fleet of the latest top of the line RED cameras to shoot the films with.
Edit: Found it. 30 RED EPIC cameras, shit.
There is a great book about this. The Power of Habit. I recommend it for someone that is trying to understand why you can’t stop doing dumb shit you know is bad for you.
I'm curious how people get arrested in adult theaters. Isn't that why people go to adult theaters, to commit 'lewd' acts? Isn't it assumed that is the reason why you're there? Maybe I'm missing something.

I think it was Mel, though there was an article a few years back about how he was in a coma. Non-responsive for some time, though when his son began addressing Bugs, he responded AS Bugs a few times. Soon after he woke from his coma, some attributed to his "awakening" the personas he kept in his subconscious.

Poor reporting, that website was made for Breaking Bad at least 2-3 years before it ended (or more) and Better call Saul was announced.

YES.
Read this book a long time ago. ‘Touched by Fire - Manic Depressant Illness and the artistic temperament’
It’s a modern day analysis of history’s great artists, musicians, politicians, generals, etc. You can be guaranteed of one thing: the geniuses: the icons, the stars that shine through in each generation...they all had mental issues.
It also asks the question how much does their mental state affect their art. If Van Gogh had been medicated, he would never have painted. If Tchaikovsky had trained intervention he may not have written all that music, but he also might not have committed suicide.
https://www.amazon.com/Touched-Fire-Manic-Depressive-Artistic-Temperament/dp/068483183X/ref=nodl_
I chose to leave my ex of many years because he was undiagnosed, unmedicated personality disorder that experienced psychotic breaks and he never once sought help. In the midst of his episodes his reality was not our reality. It got so bad I feared for my safety. I completely understand Kim’s position (literally never thought I would say that)
>Developed by Joel Surnow, the conservative co-creator of 24, along with production companies Asylum Entertainment and Muse Entertainment and writer Stephen Kronish, the project drew fire from the political left and some Kennedy historians. Even before cameras rolled, a front-page New York Times story last February included a sharp attack from former John F. Kennedy adviser Theodore Sorenson, who called an early version of the script “vindictive” and “malicious.”
I think this is the real reason they don't want to be associated with that miniseries, it looks like a hit job on the Kenedys.
> I actually read that link and it doesnt really do much to explain except calling people racist for assuming the characters are white.
That's because there's no actual research into an actual phenomenon, there; just an assertion that we see big-eyed, white-skinned cartoon characters as being white because racism.
There are also people who argue about whether or not Bjork is Asian.
All I know is that I was a horrible racist for questioning why Heimdahl wasn't Northern European in Thor.
You are incredibly thick. I'm not speculating when I say "goodbye" comes from "God be with you". It's the truth: http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=good-bye
Using "thank god" or "goodbye" do not endorse Christianity anymore than using "Achilles' heel" endorses Greek mythology or using "Ojala" (means 'I hope', comes from "Oh allah") in Spanish endorses Islam.
"Thank god" isn't disrespectful to the people actually responsible for your good fortune because using it isn't actually thanking god. That's why atheists use it all the time. It's a goddamn idiom.
Similarly, using the lords name in vain ("oh my god", "god damn", etc.) when you're angry doesn't endorse Christianity.
The interesting thing is that it is being (has been?) shot in 48 fps in full 3D. Here is an interesting article about it by Peter Jackson. Of course, this will only be an amazing experience if the theater can actually show the film in 48 fps...
edit: again, i accidentally a word.
He does have an abrasive personality. His rudeness depends on the situation though. Running a real kitchen he can be satan. Shows like hell's kitchen/kitchen nightmares I believe he milks the douche attitude a bit but that is his character for the show that american viewers like to see. Watch a show like The F word and you'll see he is a lot different though and I think more enjoyable.
And please if you don't get it through cable/broadcast, please don't torrent it, pay $3 for it HD on Amazon, or watch the SD on Hulu for free.
> Your $25 an hour doesn't factor in the 200 mile drive back home OR 400 miles worth of gas.
Did you even read my post? I'll put it here for you again:
>* 400 miles round trip at 70MPH is 5.7 hours total. * The fare was $200, assuming Uber takes 25% that's $150 for the driver. That averages out to just over $25/hour take home for the driver.
This trip netted the driver a take-home wage that's at or above the high end for Uber drivers in that area. An unusual day at work maybe, but "that poor schmuck" wasn't exactly fucked over either.
EDIT: Turns out I was comparing the take-home pay of this trip to that of the average Uber driver in Los Angeles, which is wrong. This took place in the Charlotte, NC area--where $25+ an hour is even more awesome for a driver. It seems to be about double what a driver would normally expect.
Have you not heard this theory before?
A leading LAPD detective thinks so also, he also believed LAPD officers where involved as they worked for Suge Knight, and when he started to investigate his own officers, they removed him from the case. This was just a minor part of what today is known as the "rampart scandal".
Here is a documentary about both murder investigations by an English guy from Channel 4, he even uncovers the shooters hired by Suge Knight. Surprise surprise, LAPD Officers.
Shockingly good documentary, appears to be going nowhere then everything comes together. Even the head gang officer who you meet in this documentary, who drives the film maker around and you can't help but respect him. He tells us in the documentary that Suge isn't a gangster and it's all just myth and rumor. You believe him. Then it turns out this guy, who's job it is to catch people like Suge, his own family is employeed by Suge and his son is Suges second in command.
The documentary is a roller coaster like that.
Shame he left out [Live At Pompeii](http://hotfile.com/dl/134763092/8e12fd3/Live_At_Pompeii_(DVD\).7z.html). that probably deserves a rating of 11.
edit: A link to a flac rip of the dvd seems to have appeared in my comment, how did that get there.

How about when she claimed to have helped catch a Japanese spy during WWII when she was hearing morse code in her fillings?
>All of a sudden, my mouth started jumping. It wasn't music this time, it was Morse code. It started softly, and then de-de-de-de-de-de. As soon as it started fading, I stopped the car and then started backing up until it was coming in full strength. DE-DE-DE-DE-DE-DE DE-DE-DE-DE! I tell you, I got the hell out of there real quick. The next day I told the MGM Security Office about it, and they called the FBI or something, and sure enough, they found an underground Japanese radio station. It was somebody's gardener, but sure enough, they were spies.
Mythbusters did an episode on it, I think it came up busted.
That's because it's blogspam. Original source. There's also this Gizmodo post where I think I originally saw parts of that story (same pilot), but of course gawker's new hashbangs ruin trying to find it on reddit.
Brian Shul is a great writer and tells amazing and fascinating stories. It is a travesty that blog doesn't give him any credit.
If you have Firefox, IMDb Preview solved this problem for me. Hovering over IMDb links gives you a little box that tells you the name of the movie. It's also supposed to tell you the genre and cast, but IMDb changed their site and broke that bit of the extension, which is now no longer maintained, sadly. Title and year still work though! I did find a fixed .xpi file somewhere, but I can't remember where.
EDIT: Also for Chome here.
The Hispanic culture in Central and South America is less than supportive of women. In regards to the middle- to upper-class families in small towns, their function is primarily to serve their husbands (who frequently have many mistresses, some of whom they live with, most of whom bear them children) and bear and raise children. Adultery is commonly accepted for the man, as it is considered "macho" to possess and care for as many women as possible, but women who cheat are indecent. Purity is strongly valued, which ties into the strong Catholic culture, which has the weird dichotomy of (and I'm paraphrasing here) believing in Catholic strictures but not frequently actually following any of them.
That said, the situation is improving and womens' rights groups are popping up all over. The dynamic is starting to change, but slowly--and particularly in poor or war-ravaged countries like El Salvador, that kind of change comes slowly when it's a solid social structure they can hold onto after the rest of their lives have been destroyed.
Sources: hispanic family in the US; visits to family in El Salvador; first-hand accounts; study of the language, art, history, and culture. My mother's actually writing a play about it, oddly enough. Check out the second and third paragraphs of this page (100) of The Latino family and the politics of transformation By David T. Abalos. There's also an article on the New Latina blog. More sources are available via research.
Thanks for that. I wasn't aware there was such a huge loss of information from doing that. Ack.
Tangentially related: I remember hearing a while back that My Name Is Earl did a sight gag for its HD viewers. Kinda funny.
Well they kinda are. The three movies are actually a Swedish TV series (and significantly longer in that format). You can watch it on Netflix.
If I remember correctly there was some weirdness with the releases: the first one was planned as a theatrical movie with the second two being intended as direct-to-TV that they later changed their minds on, which is probably why the production takes such an obvious hit in the sequels.
As pointed out - there is no (full) HBO or Showtime content without a cable subscription. The Showtime channel on Roku is a sample channel that's a tease. The HBO channel is HBOGo, which requires an existing HBO account with a cable company (no legal way around that).
As far as saying, "It's ok, because I use Netflix" - that's an OK attitude as long as you're not devoted to HBO content from the last handful of years. Netflix and HBO are competing (their words) - so no Boardwalk Empire or Game of Thrones anytime soon for Netflix steaming users.
I don't pay for cable, but I do go to a friend's house to watch the HBO shows - it's hard to find better or more captivating programming and I absolutely loved the Ice & Fire book series...
> anyhoo, isn't this an /r/politics item?
I dunno. I haven't been here long enough to know where this subreddit draws the line. [edit: added>>] The sidebar guidance says the scope is "news and discussion of the entertainment industry" and this falls into that category.
I will say I do like that this one is relatively free of SOPA discussion. If it were up to me, I'd send all of the SOPA griping in every subreddit to somewhere I don't read! But of course, that log-rolling is fomented by one of the founders of the site.
It’s a really great interview, at one point they show clips from one of her earliest roles in film. It’s a little scandalous as it’s just shot after shot of girls wearing little in black and white and they all guess which one is her.
She is super sharp in the interview and I think it clearly shows the kind of assertiveness that got her so far.
I highly suggest watching it here.
Regal operates one of these in Knoxville too. Bigger screen, but definitely NOT a traditional IMAX screen.
Kind of relevant to my interests and it's a nice list, but I don't like the writing. Why do they have to be so... snarky (or something)? I hate that style of writing.
Had totally forgotten about Oldboy. The ending almost borked my brain.
And then there was this (NSFW). Real twins? How is that even possible, if incest is illegal? (As it is in the US, I think).
Luck on HBO is what I'm really looking forward to.
Here's an article with tons of reviews for the pilots that have been released so far.
I missed the 70's but do remember the 90's! This movie was released to video in '94 but seeped well into 1995 and even '96 for popularity. It didn't hurt either that both of the sound tracks released where really great! The second one being even better then the first!
I always wondered how you pronounce Szekely, so I found this page where if you click on the little arrow you can hear a Hungarian male pronounce it. And the reason why he chose CK as his stage name is revealed.
Recently John W. Campbell’s estate was liquidated and they found a full version of “Who Goes There?” which includes something like 40 additional pages. It was released under its original title “Frozen Hell” I ordered on amazon the other day Frozen Hell
How is a clip an "ad" for the show? It's not a snippet of a clip, it's the whole segment.
Also, I'm pretty sure Hulu doesn't show an ad. I just watched and all it did was say the clip was brought to me by boystown, then it started.
I understand that not everyone here has English as a native language, so let me explain.
The statement, "I signed a contract which I was not allowed to read", would imply that I didn't get to read the contract at any time. Under the law in both the United States and Israel, that wouldn't in fact be a binding contract at all, and would be completely unenforceable.
The statement, "I signed a contract which I was not allowed to read in advance" has a different meaning. "In advance" is a phrase which in English means "ahead of time" - in other words, I didn't get to read the contract, ahead of time, before the moment it was given to me to sign, although I could read it then.
This, while deeply unethical, does result in an enforceable contract.
Is this clear now?

Not available in my country either, but VPNs are getting good and relatively inexpensive.
Yes, they are compressed, no, they are not compressed to absolute shit. Broadcast HD has a higher bitrate than cable, Fios or sattelite.

Do me a favour and watch this TED talk on the making of Benjamin Button. An incredible amount of work went into it, and it shows (3 Oscars, dozens of other awards).
Fair point. The app's intended for live events in general (debates, movie premieres, etc.) - TV's just the easiest thing for me to organize a group of people around right now. Though, some Twitter supporters would lead you to believe live TV is making a comeback.

Mr. Show is an extremely influential HBO sketch comedy show from the late 90s. It was created by David Cross (Arrested Development, Todd Margaret, and dozens of other ventures) and Bob Odenkirk (the guy who brought you Tim & Eric, frequent guest on Breaking Bad, director of some amazing comedies). Mr. Show set itself apart from other sketch comedies by creating narrative links between sketches, with each sketch loosely conforming to an over-arching theme for the episode. This convention made for some incredibly memorable characters and ostentatiously silly moments in television.
It stands as one of the most highly-praised, universally beloved sketch comedies in the history of television, and much of its staff (both on camera and off) are now high-profile comedians, writers, and producers. Guys like Paul F. Tompkins, Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Sarah Silverman, Jack Black, Tom Kenny (the voice of SpongeBob), Mary Lynn Rajskub, Scott Aukerman, and Dino Stamatopoulos all worked on Mr. Show. It was lightning in a bottle.
Ctrl + f 'Sherlock', so glad I wasn't disappointed. It's brilliant on its own but especially so for fans of the books. In a way it's similar to the RDJ Sherlock, in that it's fast-paced and action packed.
For those with a fear of stuffiness: it won't bore you, really. Watch it.
luckily my girlfriend is a doctor and she recommends, across the board, with rare medical exemption, a plant-based diet.
if you’re ordering one item at a time, you need to plan your shopping and ordering better. i, too, have had to make ends meet on very little and have nearly missed making rent more times than i’m happy to admit. just a small amount of planning makes all the difference.
i appreciate your stance on amazon, but, unfortunately, paying around businesses with shitty labor practices isn’t something that most people can afford to do. (it’s hard to tell which is the cause and which is the effect.)
put a watch on this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CEIECZ0/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_glc_fabc_ATL7Fb9V52WCM. i’ve gotten plenty of these twenty-four packs for $6 each.
Hotspot Shield. It's a proxy program that makes it look like you're located in the US. Then you can go watch clips on Also, you can watch Hulu and listen to Pandora Radio.
The Chromecast does work this way, but there is no reason the Chromecast can't point back at the phone as its server. The Chrome browser can cast a local browser tab to a Chromecast, and an Android device can cast its local screen. Also, BubbleUPnP can act as a server for local media to allow a Chromecast to stream audio, video, or pictures from a phone.
I'm not sure if a Chromecast can work at all without internet, but if there is internet (and maybe if there isn't), it should be technically possible for it to stream the bulk video data from the phone's storage, if Netflix wanted to implement that.
For those still unsure what this is really about, do yourself a favor: https://www.amazon.com/The-Witcher-Saga-8-book-series/dp/B07FK8KY54 , then watch the show again, and cringe. Not saying everything in books was good, but they really missed the mark by not following source material closely.
That's not good.
Michael Rosen (Childrens author) was hospitalized with Covid fairly early in the pandemic, and he kept a diary.
In it he wrote:

"A doctor is standing by my bed
asking me if i would sign a piece of paper
Which would allow them to put me to sleep and pump air into my lungs.
Will I wake up?
There's a 50:50 chance
if I say no? I say
Zero
And I sign"

That stuck with me through the pandemic as just how bad it could be, even before the numbers of deaths started mounting. Scared the shit out of me.
> I dont think its for a quick paycheck. Remember he grew up with the way his mother was treated. He saw how that went down.
You're right; It's for an extremely long-term and drawn-out paycheck!

>He grew up in an extremely stuffy and stern lifestyle that did not and does not fit in with midern times.
Believe it or not, lots of normal people grow up in stuffy and stern households--even in "modern times"--but most people generally see it as bad form to shiv their family members.
Okay, well I guess this entire book about Jews creating Hollywood is just bullshit, and all the scholarly articles about immigrant Jews creating and maintaining (aka running) Hollywood through the early years through the Golden age are nonsensical, in part because Walt Disney was also there, being not Jewish
Just for reference, Apparently the cost of a telegram in the continental US is 15.95. Here is the ratio of the cost of a telegram today per byte and the cost of DSL per byte. Fuck dude, I think Ray Kurzweil just got me.
Exactly, and that's not really the "basic" biological urge to reproduce. There's a lot more social engineering in those reasons. But also, people don't stop to think about how pregnancy and/or parenthood can affect their mental health.
It's all good and well when we fantasize about it but when you get that post-partum depression, or when you realise life is never going to be the same...things start become more real.
Do what's best for your well-being but talk about it with others, especially people who have regretted parenthood. There's a lot of stigma, especially for mothers regretting motherhood but this book is really good:

Where did you take economics? That is a categorically false statement that is easily disproven. Any expert economist worth their salt would say you are wrong.
Innovation, literally all by itself proves you wrong.
Seven Deadly Economic Sins, a book by James R. Ottr’s on, a professor of business ethics with a PhD in economics, literally explains how wealth is positive sum IN HIS FIRST CHAPTER!
Do you need me to just start citing source after source after source? Because I can. Saying wealth is zero sum is a communist lie.
Wealth is like the gym. You go to the gym, you work out, you get swoll, but just because you are getting swoll doesn’t mean the guy next to you also going to they gym and working out gets weak. You aren’t stealing other gym members’ muscle fibers. You also aren’t stealing muscle fibers from people not going to the gym.
To add money into the situation, your gym membership is giving you muscles because you take advantage of the value the membership you paid for provides you. If you chose to have a membership and you just buy protein powder from the gym and never work out, you not getting muscles is on YOU. If you don’t feel like you are getting value either you don’t understand the product, or stop giving them money. Quit blaming the world for your bad spending habits.
Are there bad businessmen out there? Sure, but there are also good businessmen. Rich ≠ bad.

Nah, chattel slavery was a particularly horrific version of slavery. Accounting for Slavery is a good book if you’re actually curious about the sheer dehumanizations of it all.
Cold bloodedly tracking suicides as a KPI or making notes on the best way to display an escaped slave’s mutilated body to deter further escapes was super fucked up.
Not to mention the whole ethnocide thing - the double think between people trumpeting how important their confederate heritage is to them while also arguing that preventing slaves from passing on their languages and customs through violence wasn’t a big deal hurts my head.
Funnily enough, Firefox just tells you the best add-ons to install when you go to to "Add-on manager"
I recently switched from Brave (too much (read: any) Crypto bullshit and I wanted to get away from Google a tad) and the recommendations were:
uBlock
Ghostery
HTTPS everywhere
PrivacyBadger
NoScript
Bitwarden
Decentraleyes
LeechBlock
AdGuard
Privacy Possum
The only not-security-related add-ons they recommended were
Dark Reader
Tomato Clock (productivity)
Search by Image (reverse image search)
YouTube HD (anti-productivity)
Web Archive
Video Background Play Fix
Google Search Fixer
So you can't really miss all the great add-ons.
Never fear. We know how Tolkien felt on this issues... he was very vocal in his opinions & wrote many letters making his views clear.
His son Christopher once went to South Africa under apartheid during WWII & was shocked at the poverty & misery of POC & the indigenous people there.
He wrote his father, to which Tolkien replied:
"As for what you say or hint of 'local' conditions: I knew of them. I don't think they have much changed (even for the worse). I used to hear them discussed by my mother; and have ever since taken a special interest in that part of the world. The treatment of colour nearly always horrifies anyone going out from Britain & not only in South Africa." (Letter, April 19, 1944).
So he wasn't into racist, colorist apartheid at all.
He was also vocal in rejection of white supremacy & anti-Semitism. His German publisher before the war once dared wrote him to ask if he was "Aryan." Tolkien fired back (while slamming their abuse of the word Aryan): "I am not of Aryan extraction: that is Indo-Iranian... But if I am to understand that you are enquiring whether I am of Jewish origin, I can only reply that I regret that I appear to have no ancestors of that gifted people." (Letter, July 29, 1938)
Tolkien was raised & lived in a racist, imperialist & colonialist UK. He was not perfect; he was human. However for a person of his time, he was extremely progressive.
He was also an environmentalist & was against nuclear weapons from their very invention.

Go to Grand Saline next time your passing through.
It used to be called a "sundowner Town" Which used to mean, "if you are black or otherwise dont belong, dont let the sun go down on you in Grand Saline"
That paranoia and cruelty still live on today.
Yea, Texas will be alright to you as long as you keep movin' on and spending money.
Southerners are kind and affable people. To the "right" people. We have great food and most of us wont let you be broken down on the road too long.
We will talk your ear off - but we also listen well. Most will try to do the right thing - most of the time.
It's not until skin color, religion or politics come up that you see the paint cant quite cover up all the hate. And then you find the hypocrisy, the quiet hate and ideals that are 150 years too old and then the quaint bullshit wears off an you will find the preacher will fuck you just as fast as any car dealership.
Take a drive through Whitehouse Texas. It's a strip of about 7 miles or so but I bet you, you'll be stopped three times comin through.
There is a reason Tyler has so many big signs up for Bail Bondsman, Lawyers and funeral homes.

We are talking about ancestry here. If that were relevant, then Fidel being born in Cuba would be enough. But it isn't. His mother's ancestry was 100% from the Canary Islands.
"Ángel took a wife in 1911, María Luisa Argota Reyes, with whom he had five children before separating. He then began a relationship with Lina Ruz González (1903–1963), a household servant of Canarian descent who was twenty-seven years his junior"
Complain about Wikipedia all you want, but the sources are there. For this particular bit it references the following biography:
https://www.amazon.com/Fidel-Biography-Peter-G-Bourne/dp/0396085180
Again, and if I have to repeat this over and over again, Fidel is from almost entirely Spanish ancestry with no Latino ancestry. The fact that his mother was born in Cuba is as irrelevant as Fidel being born there. His mother is of Canary Island ancestry and looks European as well.
I used to live in L.A., and often went to the New Beverly Cinema. Clu was there EVERY night. I remember having a great conversation with him one evening while in line waiting to see Flash Gordon. God, he loved movies. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend the documentary "Out of Print" by Julia Marchese. There's a wonderful interview with him about his life, the passing of his wife, whom he adored, and his love of cinema.
My best to his family and friends.
Look at his shop.
It is literally health supplements and branded apocalypse doom shelter type shit.
Easiest grift ever. Health supplements have always had a huge margin because it can be fucken almonds or "sex dust" or fucken ants.
And it has like 1800% profit margins.
If you want to see a 'Republican Dad' novel that could be turned into either 'Republican Dad blockbuster action movie' or 'TV miniseries' with Chris Pratt as the star, check out right-wing blowhard Ben Shapiro's attempt at becoming the new Tom Clancy, 'True Allegiance'. It's like 'The Room' or 'Plan 9 From Outer Space' of novels. A link to its Amazon page is below and be sure to use the 'Look Inside' feature to get a sampling of Shapiro's purple prose:

This just helps put America's obsession with "celebrities" on full display. We rarely care enough to get the names of those not famous unless it was somehow entertaining, and this could be for better, or worse.
I'm really sorry she was shoved to the ground. I'm really sorry that America continues to show why it is a country with deep-rooted problems that no one wants to really delve into because we're too busy amusing ourselves to death.
many also use it to cure the pain that is loneliness, especially in the 'Bowling Alone' society that is contemporary American.
Knowing that you'll get to see people who care about you multiple times per week (Sunday morning services, post-church-service lunches, Wednesday night Bible study, Saturday social activity / volunteering, weekend retreats, mission trips) does bring a lot of comfort to people who don't otherwise have a strong social network.
Stop Walking on Eggshells is a very good book for people who have been in romantic relationships with BPD people. https://www.amazon.com/Stop-Walking-Eggshells-Borderline-Personality/dp/1572246901 I just realized a lot of what I posted was from my own experience with my mother, but if you look through some of those links and forums you'll see information and support about people who are in romantic relationships as well as family ones. Hugs to you. You are not alone.
A speaker that small would sound like crap.
But, if you really want a tiny speaker, you can pair your watch with one of these
Nice quote. It reminds me of why violence has declined for thousands of years.

Wow, that was…something. Tiny illegible gray letters: “If.” Big black red letters: “I DID IT.” Written by O.J. Simpson. Officially authorized version by The Ron Goldman Foundation for Justice. What the literal f.
It has been available there before he was even nominated. They updated the description for the nomination and haven't even bothered to update it with the fact that he won. I don't think there's any conspiracy or whatever going on here. I think he's actually quite smart in how he distributes his work, for sure, regardless of the fact that his kind of a shit person in at least a couple of aspects.
The audio was available too, even with a verified purchase review from September 2021: https://www.amazon.com/Sincerely-Louis-CK-Explicit-C-K/dp/B097J3CZSZ (nominations were announced in late November 2021)

The above link with Amazon's 'Look Inside' feature will give one a sampling of Penn's purple prose. There's also a sequel titled 'Bob Honey Sings Jimmy-Crack-Corn'. While his literary experiments did get some positive blurbs from authors like Salman Rushdie, the overall critical reaction was like the Golden Raspberry Award equivalent of a Pultizer Prize.
It depends what you're looking for it your entertainment. Personally, WWZ is absolutely one of my favorite books of the past decade. Do I think zombies are a reasonable scientific possibility? Absolutely not. But in the context of the book and the "rules" of the universe the author created every event and detail are internally consistent within the established framework. I expected a lot from Ridley Scott for Prometheus, especially his attention to detail that he demonstrated in his past movies. But when obviously wrong statements are made that are easily fact-checked it takes me right out of the fantasy.
>you argue that if they make shows available to purchase on line, that would deter piracy. I would not drop one red cent to watch 2 and 1/2 men, yet I want it on the television.
Good to know that you don't like two and a half men. What that has to do with my point?
>If we were to go to an on line purchase of things, production studios would not make as much money, as they would lose the syndication and ad revenue.
Why would they lose syndication and ad revenue?
>Once again, if I own capital, why should I take a gamble on something that I won't make much money on? I would rather invest in something that earns me more money, eh?
A gamble? Netflix profits, Hulu profits
>There is art for arts sake, of course. But even the greats artists of the past had patronage. The great renaissance artists were all basically funded by the di Medici family.
Huh? What that has to do with anything?
>But, I argue that if production studios had to rely on piece meal sales, they would only produce things that appealed to the masses as to have access to the general market. Sure, there will be neiche studios, but not many people will be willing to pay 20 bucks an episode for a fantasy tv show... Thus the people would pirate it... And then... No more production.
Wait, they don't already work like that? Just look at Syfy.
Bro, you can literally export your Spotify Playlist to YouTube music. No need to remake them. And, for me, YouTube music has obscure shit that I can't get on Spotify.
As an aside, if anyone wants to cancel their Spotify account, you can visit: https://www.spotify.com/us/account/cancel
The cancel process includes a feedback form where you can let them know you're canceling because of Joe Rogan.
