This is weird. It seems like it's a flat version of the DVD box art where that Jack on the left should be on the spine of the box set dvd.

I made this as soon as they sold out by drawing over their tiny preview jpeg using illustrator. Should be able to take to a printer for a 18"x24" poster.
You may be interested in Chronologically LOST, a re-edited version where all events are portrayed in order. The first 10 or so episodes are especially great, though admittedly I haven't finished it myself.
EDIT: If you enjoyed Lost, check out "Booth at the End". It's short, mysterious, and awesome.
The original one was taken down by the user so I reuploaded it and that was taken down by a copyright claim from the Paley Center.
Here's the link to what I think is the only place it's still available.
Dude...
For big-ish purchases like this, and I'm assuming you're purchasing from amazon, look at camelcamelcamel.com. They track Amazon's price history. The price is relatively high right now. Give it a few days, and keep an eye on that page. I have no doubt that it'll sink soon, on black Friday next month at the latest.
Take this to your favourite printer and ask for an 18"x24" print of it.

It's worth noting that the writers' inspiration for the 8 rabbit comes from Stephen King's book "On Writing", where he talks about the idea of communicating ideas through words by asking the reader to imagine a rabbit with the number "8" printed on its back.
If you haven't read On Writing, you should absolutely check it out. It's a fantastic read even if you aren't interested in writing.
Well, you ended up posting in the community for the tv show Lost, so we can't be too helpful, but I won't leave you hanging. If you click on the blue link, it will take you to a site that should help you get started. If that isn't helpful, use the search words Reddit For Beginners. After that, it's trial and error, and asking for help. One thing I highly recommend is installing Reddit Enhancement Suite (RES It's a browser extension that makes browsing reddit a lot easier and has features that allow you to customize your account a bit.
Wayback Machine to the rescue...at least you can see the site captured throughout time, and even browse through the forum topics a little. I only clicked a couple threads and it didn't have them saved, but maybe there are some out there.
> A lot of writers make things up.
Well, all writers make stuff up. That's kind of what writing is. Stories don't just happen. I kind of surprised how many people don't seem to think about that (I'm not saying you don't, I actually completly agree with you, I'm just adding on).
I'm guessing the writers of Lost did more a little more planning compared to Steven King. I've read On Writing as well (highly recommend it, Lost even put an Easter egg reference to it once) and it seems like King's sort of very organic way of making stories is pretty rare, and really couldn't work for a TV show where you don't know how long (or short) it will go on for. I think I remember hearing some interview recently where they said their main strategy was coming up with the very major things they wanted to happen, then trying to find some way to get to those points. This seems to be one of the most normal ways of writing, it can sometimes lead to contrivances and change things from the way you want them to be, but in general it's one of the best way to weave together a story.
Yes, but you'd probably have to buy it used through Amazon or eBay. Just search on those websites. I own this one, but it's currently absurdly priced, because I'm assuming it's out of print and can only be bought used now.
It did.
There's also a blu-ray version.
You're welcome:
The Booth at the End. It's about a man who makes deals with people. It takes place entirely in a diner. Five twenty-two minute episodes. It's amazing.
The Lost Room. One of the only Sci Fi original series worth watching.
When the finale aired, I admit I felt a little let down by the lack of answers. The funny thing is that I knew there were going to be no real answers to explain everything as soon as I watched this TED talk with J. J. Abrams.
After I let the true message sink in, I rewatched it the next day. Man, it got dusty real quick in my room. I've watched the series twice since, and also Chronologically Lost. As you stated, it only serves to make the whole thing more poignant.
Not at all. LOST is a great show, but trying to "solve" its mysteries is senseless as it's just a bunch of weird stuff thrown together without the writers themselves having any solution to most of it.
Yes I did. But, like many other people, ultimately I feel cheated because the mysteries we were trying to solve were nothing more than empty "Mystery-Boxes".
Here's the man himself to explain it for you:
http://www.ted.com/talks/j_j_abrams_mystery_box.html
If I would have seen this video before I started watching Lost, I wouldn't have bothered to watch it at all.
This PBS documentary on ancient Rome mentions it here.
This study of one region puts child mortality before the age of six at 60%.
It's hard sometimes for modern people to realize how many children died in infancy and childhood in past societies.
I really think you should give "The Booth at the End" a shot.
It's only 5 episodes, and in it's first season, but all I could think about is how much this has the possibility to be just as good as Lost
The Gamespot review sums it up pretty well.
It's basically a generic pokemon with almost no story, but racing the monsters can be pretty fun. The breeding is easy and there are tons of random attributes to create an endless number of custom monsters. Not a brilliant game by any means, but a good time waster.
We're both huge fans of Daniel Faraday. So, I located and bought the same type of journal that he carries. ($30 from B&N.com) Then I found all the pictures of pages I could, and recreated them myself in that journal. Then, I wrote a three page letter to Jeremy Davies, stuck it all in an envelope, with an extra postage paid envelope, and mailed it off to him to be autographed and sent back.
I found a fanmail address for him online, found the phone number of the place, and called them and made sure that was where to send an autograph request. They said yes. That was a year ago, and I've never heard back about it. I did call them again once, about 7 months after I mailed it off, and told the guy who answered my situation, and asked "Is there anyone I could talk to to find out if I might get that?" and he sorta chuckled and said "Absolutely no one." And hung up on me.
So, I imagine I'll never be getting that back. And, I wasted the 30 bucks for the journal, the month of painstakingly recreating pages, and the 14 dollars worth of postage. With nothing to show for it. And also made the mistake of telling my friend "Wait till you get this present, it's gonna be the greatest thing ever."
:(
*Edit: I've told this story a couple times on the [/r/lost](/r/lost) board. I always hope someone who reads it will have some sort of connection to help me make it happen. So, sorry if you've read this before.
>Do you really think any of that (I assume you're talking about "the light") was written at that time? I think you're giving way too much credit. I think the "light" stuff was a dog-ate-my-homework storyline to hastily come up with an ending, after throwing crap at the walls for so long.
Yes/no. Remember that TED talk that J.J. Abrams gave a few years back? The original idea was to never outright explain what the island was all about. However, as the show was clearly a hit, they had to leave the doors open to allow more plot opportunities. When interest in the mythology of the show had reached a fevered pitch, I think Darlton had to make a compromise. The light represents the contents of the box, much like the light in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. Across the Sea (I'm sure you hated that episode, yes?) does only one thing in my mind - it tells the viewer that no matter how far back you want to go, we don't have any better answer than this. But, in a way, it holds true to the original vision of the show that J.J. was espousing in that TED talk.
So, no I don't think they thought about "the light" until much much later, but yes, I think they always had doors open in the plot to allow for such happenings to occur. These kind of events feel like they were in the DNA of the show from the get go. Does that make me sound less crazy?
Just wanted to say thanks for the heads-up on the TD discussion. It is reminiscent of the online discussion and speculation that I enjoyed when watching LOST.
I am usually not a fan of shows about serial killers so I did not tune in to TD until episode 4. I heard the online uproar, like ten thousand tv geeks suddenly experiencing the little death. Apparently TD had hit the awesome switch.
With all that hype I was not blown away by what happened in ep 4, but in catching up I did recognize something special going on here and definitely got hooked by the story and characters.
With only 2 episodes left I am not going to wade through previous posts, but I did track down a couple of podcasts to rehash and see what I may have missed. I am listening to Detect This! right now and it's pretty good. I am also going to check out True Detective Podcast
So I'm catching up. I went deep down the rabbit hole that was LOST and recognize some people going nuts like that for TD now too. Good times. :)
Great score, OP! You can pick up a generic clapperboard from Amazon for $21, the clapper part easily slides off and you can use it on top of this to make it complete.
I guess it's the university background (I have an MA in Film and Media Studies), so I am just much used to that. It's also a comment to Reetae, that there's still a lot of LOST-related litterature that would be valuable. The author Pearson Moore wrote big and though-provoking analysis on the show: Here are the books on Amazon, or Reading Lost that was written by several professors.
However, it's still a good point you are making. Someone else made that suggestion to me about turning the paper into a script. I am not done with the last two parts, so when they are both finished, I think I might turn it into an audio book and edit them into videos.
It’s not from the show but rather about the show:

O sorry I forgot I made this post LOL. I got the poster from HERE
Thanks for the upboats =)
I'd check out S. by Doug Dorst. It's more of an experience than a book, but it's essentially broken down into two parts:
The physical book, Ship Of Theseus, is about a man who wakes up without any memories and is (forcibly) taken in as part of a ship's crew.
Inside the book, you'll find the annotations and inserts of two college students who have passed the book between one another to communicate, trying to discover the truth behind the book and its author.
J.J. Abrams got the idea for this project after finding a book at LAX with a note inside.
During Season One, when I was a freshman in high school, I borrowed Watership Down from my school library and attempted to read it because it was on LOST. Didn't get too far in.
I had already read Of Mice and Men in sophomore year before it was mentioned by Ben and Sawyer.
I bought <em>Bad Twin</em> and tried to read it, but never finished it either.
Past that, I haven't read any books from LOST.
There was, but it was a fancy collector's edition set that was really expensive to begin with and now even more expensive since it was limited edition and no longer being made. There's no basic complete series set in the U.S. like from the U.K., but even that is expensive too.
I got it on Amazon. Been looking at it for years but price too steep IMO. Happened to look again a few days ago and it was 40% off.

I loved it when I was a kid, and years ago it was on Netflix so it's fresh in my mind. I just Googled it and found it available on Amazon for like 90$ which is crazy to me.. but I guess not too surprising. I also found a streaming service that you can watch it.. maybe record it that way? I saw some episodes on YouTube a little while ago too, but I'm not sure if the full series is available and the quality wasn't the greatest

I have never met anyone else that even knows the show!
You probably saw this on the front page (of /r/lost), but just in case you didn't I'll go ahead and throw it out there. The Booth at the End is the only thing that came close to recreating the intrigue of Lost for me. It's a short first season, but once you start you won't want to stop. And as a bonus, you actually get quite a bit of resolution at the end of the season.
The creators specifically said the island is not purgatory http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Purgatory_(debunked_theory). (It's purgatory in the sideways flash of course in the last season but the events of earlier seasons take place on the real island, not the island-like purgatory.)
That scientific theory seems to have some of your own interpretation in it. Doesn't really make any sense and just leaves more questions. Who are "they" and what is the light? You're saying it's just a normal piece of land with light? Why and how does the light cause all the strange things to happen?
There's a lot of detail about the Swan station, but I don't see what its purpose was when Desmond was there. For electromagnetic experiments there's no need to type numbers into a computer.
You are right that Lostpedia has a solid explanation for the pregnancies, not sure how I missed that.
Nope :) choking is correct. http://www.dictionary.com/browse/choking
1. to stop the breath of by squeezing or obstructing the windpipe; strangle; stifle. 2. to stop by or as if by strangling or stifling: The sudden wind choked his words.
Thanks! Just incase anyone was having trouble with the original link in that thread (looks like it was removed) the one that someone linked in the comments works https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxstNYBGuoHMbWJqQURQN3d4Ylk/preview?pli=1
> I wonder if they really knew Hurley would end up being the protector...
Apparently they did, in the break between Seasons 1 & 2. That would explain volumes in 2x04, as well as a lot of Hugo's Season 3 story.

huzzah, i have found it! not sure if this was the one you were looking for, but i found it at http://www.zedge.net/ringtones/0-6-1-swan+hatch/
the site looks messy and like it might trick you into paying at first, but i assure you it works. if not i can just upload my mp3-converted-to-m4r version
I'm also using Nordvpn and they have bunch of tutorials in their official site. Choose your device here and there's written all the steps you have to do, it's actually really simple.
Download Hola. Here is the website. You can change the country you are viewing from, should work on Netflix.
EDIT: it has been brought to my attention that Hola is bad, so disregard this comment as I will be uninstalling as well.
It's easier to think of the FSW as a very-far-in-the-future flash-forward. It takes place after everyone has died. Think of it as a very long epilogue that got edited/mixed in with the main timeline.
The main point of the FSW is that everyone in it has to "wake up" to the reality that they have already died, and has to recover their memories of that physical life.
Opinions differ, but to me the FSW has a very grafted-on feel. Most of it doesn't impact the main story; you can see this if you watch Season 6 chronologically, without the FSW. (Here; scroll down for the links.)
It’s called Lost and Philosophy. Very interesting book, it’s talking about scenes from Lost and likening it to philosophy. An intellectual read actually. I’m bad at explaining but my wife got it for me from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Lost-Philosophy-Island-Has-Reasons/dp/1405163151
I hear you! I've watched it every year for about a decade and the emotional exhaustion and withdrawal is real. I've chosen to delay my annual viewing this year for that very reason. I found some value in reading this: Ultimate Lost and Philosophy: Think Together, Die Alone https://www.amazon.com/dp/0470632291/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_23H5AFXSB2CM7NJ3N91X
Yeah free probably won’t work. I have used expressVPN and NordVPN. Those have both worked for me. You tubers usually have sponsors for them where you can get a discount code.
I’m not a hacker but I’m a software developer. Seeding is when someone has the file on their computer and is keeping it there for it to be a source for others to download. The more seeds the faster it will download.
Since 0 people are the source, it cannot download because there is no source.
Sayid didn't make the detailed map of the Island; Rousseau did. This reinforces my view that Rousseau was either French military or a military contractor.
There are a fair number of easily-available US Army field manuals on map reading & land navigation, as well as topographic map construction, using simple tools like a hand protractor and a magnetic-north compass. This could have been part of Sayid's military training / background.

Not a podcast, but awhile back Alan Sepinwall wrote a great (from what I remember) essay on the way LOST impacted television. Not sure if you can find it online, but it's in his book The Revolution Was Televised
I just went to Amazon, typed in "Lost complete series" and got this as the first result: Here
It wasn't any harder. And it's also region 2 (Europe).
Hi guys, I would recommend a great solar lights seller on Amazon I have bought and used for years since It is time to get new beautiful solar lights for your yard. The seller is also a 15 years solar lighting manufacturer.
Here is a beautiful Solar post lights on Amazon I like best:
Each region will have different licenses, contracts and rights. Essentially regionlock exists to squeeze every last penny out of your IP. I got so tired of that shit, i started using a VPN to unlock different regions. ExpessVPN and NordVPN work like a charm.
Actually it came out during season 2, so it wasn’t about the entirety of the show. But that honest to god, was the name.
LOST - The Game https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EULZDC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_XRAIBb5MG2WCV
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the rules were set up by Mother before either of the boys had "powers," and that those rules were binding upon both of them until death. To make it more of a puzzlement, the rules set up by Mother definitely didn't end with her death - although the rules Jacob set up seemed to end with his. Hmmm.
I go back and forth on MiB healing people. My personal view is that the Island directly healed Sayid, despite the Temple pool waters being "corrupted."
If we follow the theme that MiB is basically a force of destruction, I can see him being able to cause harm. We know he can tear down trees, rip people out of airplane cockpits and toss them around. It should be very easy for him to (say) just compress somebody's spinal cord in precisely the right way to cause partial or even complete paralysis, then let go when the person (:cough:Locke:cough:) does what MiB wants. It doesn't violate the "rule" about killing candidates; it just causes a practical nervous breakdown in someone who thinks the Island healed them. In short, it causes doubt: and we see how disturbed Locke can get when his doubts get the better of him.
[Edited to add: That speculation also explains why MiB could cause Hurley to hallucinate "Dave." The late neurologist Oliver Sacks wrote a fascinating book on non-schizophrenic hallucinations. Many are caused by stimulation of various brain centers as a result of tumors, strokes, sensory deprivation etc; and a lot of those are highly extended and intricate, and can go on for days.]
As far as Ben's cancer, my personal view is that he's not living in line with "what the Island wants." Rose says the same thing about Jack's appendicitis - that people get better on the Island, not sick.
I've never read any Gene Wolfe; maybe I'll give it a try.
One I'm working on right now is The Speech of the Grail. It's a non-fiction commentary on Wolfram von Eschenbach's Parzifal (best read with Parzifal alongside.) It goes into great depth as to what Parzifal has to go through to eventually become the Grail King. I am finding it supports my own thoughts about what makes Hurley a Grail King as well.
BluRay sets are used, but there's a new DVD set. https://www.amazon.de/Lost-Complete-Collection-DVD-Import/dp/B0036EH3WU/ref=sr_1_7?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1511965263&sr=1-7&keywords=lost+collection

"Set in the near future, Oasis tells the story of priest Peter Leigh, who is called to a remote planet where a mysterious multinational company is building the first permanent off-Earth human colony. The planet, Oasis, is humanity’s last chance to escape from Earth’s impending collapse, but it quickly becomes apparent that it may not be as hospitable to humanity as it seems."
More like hand-decorated! The crate was purchased too.
I guess there were these. I have the third book Signs of Life but haven't read it yet. The back cover reads:
Nick Hadley did some terrible things. The famed artist, sculptor, and professor was once the toast of the art world, but a scandal turned his life upside down. Nick needed a place to lay low for a while. In boarding Oceanic Flight 815, he got just that.
Now one of many survivors of a plane crash, Nick has all the time in the world to reflect on his bad choices. The island life even seems to instill in him newfound artistic inspiration.
But Nick's new drawings take on a sinister quality. He begins having dreams...horribly vivid dreams. And then come the voices...and feelings of guilt and pain. Is the island trying to tell him something...or is his past finally catching up with him?
I had a blog back in the day where we discussed each episode in separate recap posts. It gained traction near the end of season 3 and just kept growing. Lots of good discussions. I'll still respond to comments with my unspoilery thoughts as well. Several binge watchers still visit and comment from time to time.
Site: www.lostaddictsblog.com
Links to each individual recap: http://www.tvaddictsblog.com/p/lost-addicts.html
Actually, some of the posts in it were included in a LOST e-book Compilation. It's a collection of lots of material from lots of the popular LOST bloggers at the time. Not saying I was one of them, just honored I was included! It contains in-depth discussions of LOST as a whole and on an episode to episode basis. It's massive and I wouldn't recommend trying to read the entire thing. But it would be a great companion through your journey with interactive links to get where you need to get in the book. I have a discount linked on my site, but I wouldn't blame you for going with the Kindle version.
Enjoy the show! It's quite a ride.
A good springboard for each episode is the Finding Lost books. She goes into detail for all the literacy references on the show, actor and writer bios, what the hype was like each season and even stuff like how the Writers Strike impacted Season 4. It's really in-depth and she goe episode by episode so no fear of spoilers. Seasons 1 & 2 share the first book so you can just start there. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1550227432/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687502&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=1550228781&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1Q2XEJ83MBNGW47255JJ
I don't know videos but a fabulous book series by Nikki Stafford "Finding Lost" is great. She goes episode by episode dissecting the themes and character motivations, tons of backstory on how the show came to be and what it was like in the fandom between seasons, actor bios, behind the scenes info like the "feud" in S5 about Charlotte's birth year, she reads the books the show references and gives summaries of them and how they tie into the show.
5 books, S1 and S2 are together in one.

I don't mean to piggy back on your post but I was considering getting the discs as well, mainly for the extra content but also just to have physical copies.
I did a bit of reading on the 'all-in-one' box set (with the extra trinkets and such) and people said that the packaging and condition of the discs is questionable. A lot of people said the packaging sucks. It's about $180ish on Amazon for the blu-ray version. But if you buy each season individually it's closer to $200+; however, people said each season is then properly packaged and I believe you still get all the bonus footage but no 'trinkets'; which I really don't care about.
Basically wondering if anyone has purchased this and got it in good condition: http://www.amazon.com/Lost-The-Complete-Collection-Blu-ray/dp/B0036EH3WK/ref=tmm_blu_title_0
There's a song from Canadian band Moneen called Don't Ever Tell Locke What He Can't Do I enjoy them relating to Q: The Serpent God.
I'm not sure heroin always leads to "killer tunes". When John Frusciante was lost in his extreme heroin phase, he wrote this album. Some people think it's brilliant, but I think it's utter shite.
Lost Encyclopedia (http://www.amazon.com/Lost-Encyclopedia-Tara-Bennett/dp/0756665949) My ex got it for me after I rewatched the entire series with her last year. One of the best gifts ever, besides the Faraday bobble-head doll :)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunshine:_Music_from_the_Motion_Picture
That track isn't on the soundtrack for either of the films named "Sunshine."
Like if there is a deluxe box set that comes with things beyond what the regular box set would come with. Sometimes it's like a shirt, or case to put it all in, things like that.
EDIT: Example....
It's from this book, page 21. I noticed it myself a few days ago
>the only fun in mysteries is figuring out the answer or thinking about the answer before finding out definitively what it was.
Not for me. I enjoy the little things that keep me wondering. I think they answered a lot of the right questions, and left a lot of the right ones open.
Then again, my favorite book doesn't have nearly as many answers as Lost does.
How does literary criticism work with films and TV shows today? I'm trying to understand if intentional fallacy is still applicable with a new set of criteria beyond Wimsatt and Beardsley's set. For example, how would you define these critiques of <em>Fight Club</em> or the upcoming Blackwell philosophy book about <em>Lost</em>? I'm not understanding the issue with the idea of cultural byproduct; is the world too interconnected now to use the idea? Sorry for the bucketload of questions, I'm genuinely curious!
I had a textbook in college called If It's Purple, Someone's Gonna Die.
I'm gonna go on a huge limb and say that a bunch of characters are going to die this season.
