Not actually attributed to Doug Ford... It's a country music song by Brett Kissel, based on a book title written by Robert Schuller in 1984 of all things..

He's using the term "bankrupt" in the symbolic sense rather than legal sense. Regardless, it's still an exaggeration and not in the least of ways true.
One of the argued signs of fascism is that the "the enemy is both strong and weak." In this sense, Ontario is both "open for business" and yet "bankrupt" at the same time.
(I'm not saying Ford is a fascist here, just pointing out the particular strategem being used.)
Assuming this isn't just shitposting:

B) If this is your breaking point, you got bigger issues than spilled milk.
Have a look at Eco's 14 common features of fascism. You may or may not be surprised to see that a lot of neo-conservative populist political strategy involves some or all of these ideas.

I grew up about an hour and a half south of Tobermory, and in March? Most likely you're looking at some residual snow on the ground, but not a lot of new snow falling. It'll be cold, but usually hovering around the 0 mark (32 degrees in your freedom units) on average, and around 5 degrees plus or minus that.
You're definitely in for some cold nights though, and the weather probably won't be entirely pleasant. Likely a mix of snow, freezing rain and plain old rain that freezes later.
That being said, it's also not unheard of for it to be like 15 degrees and sunny. https://www.accuweather.com/en/ca/bruce-peninsula/n0h/march-weather/49434_pc
That was this year. You can see that between the 5th of March to the 11th the temperature ranged from -17 degrees to 15 degrees. Which is basically "really fucking cold" to "quite pleasant."

If the suggestion will cause your family financial distress, please don't worry about buying one.
If you do want to buy one, a Chromebook in the $200-$300 range is great for what students will need to do in class. Amazon, Staples, or Best Buy (etc) sometimes have good sales, though I know high demand right now may limit the available deals.
One other suggestion I can make is that if your or someone you know has an old, discarded laptop laying around - maybe a friend or family member has upgraded to something better because their old laptop was getting too slow - you can reimage the older device with this: https://www.neverware.com/freedownload#intro-text
I've done it with devices up to 10 years old and it works wonders. It's obviously not going to be a high-powered solution, but for simple web browsing, Google docs, and the like, it will do great... which is 99% of what students need to do.
I've been using Mullvad for a while now, it's been quite good. Plenty of server options and no speed issues that I've noticed.

North Burlington near the village of Lowville. On the River and Ruin trail (part of the Bruce trail) is an abandoned farm house in the middle of the forest.

Enter off Brittania road and hike in. It is a beautiful walk. A little difficult to find the house though, which is part of the fun.
Agree. "Microsoft office specialist" would be laughable to read on a resume these days. MS office knowledge is implied.
If your partner has the resources and time to do so and absolutely wants to upgrade her job skills, then feel free, but as u/sync-centre says, they can achieve the same thing by spending a couple hours each night with office and youtube videos.
They can even use https://www.openoffice.org/ if you don't have a registered version at home.
Hey buddy. Im not the guy to talk to about THC levels and all that. But the prerolls are kinda expensive. In my experience, mentioning the reasoning behind conservative positions seems to be enough to get dismissed as right-wing, which I find particularly frustrating. This sub can paint cons (and others) with such a broad brush sometimes. I'd love to have reasonable discussions of their issues on this sub, but that void seems to have been filled with snark. We already ran a poll (just a small one mind you, but still 508 votes) on this sub leading up to the election and the Liberals come in first, followed by the NDP. That's fine, but that's a clear indication that the conversation on this sub is removed from the public's narrative. I fully expect downvotes for saying this, based on past experience, but I think it should still be said.
Link for non-Android users. I went to the apple app store to see if it was as bad but it has a 5 star rating with 2 reviews. I wonder if the reviews are more heavily moderated there?
Mind you, One UI is for Samsung phones only and can be notably different than stock android or older versions or different "Files" apps.
For example, I'm on a Sony phone running Android 9 and the "Files" app there doesn't have anything of the sort.
However, the free TotalCommander app I have does have this option to add a link to a file on your home screen. (Press-hold on a file, then there's a "Create link on desktop" menu pick.)
So people's mileage may vary greatly.
I, most certainly, have seen--and extensively videoed--established cormorant colonies, including the one on Middle Island where the cull is taking place. No, they're not wastelands. They're just ecologically different so they don't align with some people's uninformed 'garden-like' notion of what an ecological system ought to look like.
I also know the activists mentioned in the article have visited the Middle Island every year since the culling began. They're very knowledgeable, and their concerns are echoed by leading researchers like Linda Wires.
"In a critique of the science, management, and ethics underlying the double-crested cormorant’s treatment today, Linda Wires exposes “management” as a euphemism for persecution and shows that the current strategies of aggressive predator control are outdated and unsupported by science." [Source]
This reminds me of the experiment with children and delaying gratification. Rather than accepting the pain of closing, Ontario (via their elected government) chose to avoid the costs of closing. But, that means there isn't two candies at the end, which Quebec or PEI were rewarded with. What I find especially sad is that even if many (most?) citizens exerted stronger self-discipline (going beyond the minimum demanded by law), the actions of the rest still harmed the general population. Alberta (and from comments below, Manitoba) might be the case study for this: a population, by demanding personal rights and ignoring restrictions, causes serious detriment to the rest. Is Canada a civilization or an anarchy?
This is nonsense, the comment to which you are responding was standing neither for nor against civil society. While police culture may exist in a skewed form, as their vocation places them in contact with the worse parts of the human expirence, that does not make it toxic, and you really should have qualified that statement, rather than leaving it standing alone.
I don't believe u/pachydermusrex has a problem with proper levels of oversight on police conduct. I believe u/Kill_Frosty was speaking out of their ass, and u/pachydermusrex called them out on it.
I would suggest you might not know what you are talking about.
Edit - For the sake of reference, I am going to use this definition for civil society.
>Contemporary definitions for civil society noun - the aggregate of non-governmental organizations and institutions that manifest interests and will of citizens; individuals and organizations in a society which are independent of the government.
And that's a pretty low "average" as well - according to this article the average income for an Ontarian is about $48K.
I'm not saying that it undermines your point at all - I think it highlights the fact that you're being generous in your presentation. It's $8k less than the bottom end of earnings, not the average.
So if I understand you correctly, when I input my personal details for OHIP/ID address change I will input my info to an Amazon web server in the US and it forwards the inputted data (securely) to a server in Ontario?
If the above is correct it's not much better since Ontarians' personal data will be routinely sent through the US, subject to their intercept rules, which effectively hands it over to them.
NordVPN, IPVanish, Private Internet Access are all good choices, so pick one that fits your budget.
As for torrenting, ISPs here don't disconnect users for torrenting like they can in the US. If you are sharing a copyrighted file and one of the copyright orgs (RIAA, MPA) sees your IP in the swarm, they can send a notice to your ISP who is legally obligated to forward that notice to you. They are not required to pass on personal info to the copyright org unless served with a valid court order.

Are you suggesting that there's something inherent in the China that results in lower quality steel production? Maybe that as a race, they're incapable of replicating modern steel-making techniques? Perhaps there's a geographic issue - something about the Chinese water or environment that results in inferior steel?
Most steel from China is lower quality, because most steel everywhere is lower quality. There is a market for lower quality steel, and as the Chinese developed their steel industry, they successfully captured that market first, putting most of the lower quality providers internationally out of business. You can definitely get high quality steel from China, and lots of people do.
At this point it's a numbers game. The largest steel companies in the world are all in China, and many of them purchase more raw steel than all Canadian steel manufacturers put together. They can tap into economies of scale and buying power than other steel manufacturers couldn't dream of, and even if all else were equal, they would still be able to offer the best prices in the world. (All else is not equal, their labour rates are lower, they have invested way more in automation and modern production techniques and they get subsidized electricity, lowering their costs.)
In regards to your quest for 316, no one was willing to guarantee composition? Even the ISO certified shops? Seems strange. When was this?

not my opinion, (the link between inequality and events like brexit.) it’s widely accepted by political scientist and backed by research. Here is an excellent and well researched book explaining the phenomenon https://www.amazon.ca/National-Populism-Against-Liberal-Democracy/dp/0241312000/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=national+populism&qid=1628076044&sprefix=national+pop&sr=8-1 Absolutely racism is also a factor and we are definitely starting to see that as it relates to the housing crisis here in Canada (lots of talk of foreign investors laundering money etc). It’s all connected. I highly recommend you read the book linked above. This is all backed by research (inequality and its impact on democracy etc). There are people who study this stuff for a living. I’m not just spewing my opinions. I read academic research about the topic.
I know some people that do the walk to a place and then back, so they bag it, put it to the side of the sidewalk then pick it up on the way back. Still odd. Now I just have one of these bad boys and just hang the poopbag off the belt loop at the back.

I drive a vehicle with windows in the city too, albeit a smaller one than yours, admittedly. I started putting up those windshield reflectors (the ones you usually use in the summer), and then I hang up my coat and sweater jacket to block off the back windows to give me enough privacy to do my business. Doesn't cover all the windows, but I feel like it does the job.
Depending on the size of your vehicle, would it be possible to buy a cheap small tent or those collapsible camping shower tents to use in the aisles? Or something like that.

But never-mind that. You say technological unemployment is a concern of yours. I am curious to hear your thoughts on how we contend with the increasing speed of workers being displaced by technology. Clearly you are patently opposed to any manner of wealth redistribution, despite the fact that eight people own more wealth than 3.6 billion, so I'm deeply curious to hear what you feel should be done with the displaced, destitute, and unemployable millions.

Has no one mentioned the fact that there are FAR MORE elderly and retirees right now than people under 30 in Canada who can vote? The median age of Canadians is increasing, and the birth rate in Canada is decreasing. The median age has increased since 1950 from early 30’s to now over 40.
Even if literally all the young people voted, the average age of a Canadian is now >40 years old. The generations aren’t balanced, so why should the youth vote be expected to win anything by itself? I’m hoping that somewhere out there are 40+ year olds who still have an attitude other than “fuck the poor, why can’t they just not be poor like I did”, but I’m losing hope.

Which is in USD...convert it to CAD and it's not 99 cents any more.
Varies widely though. In Chicago area it's $4.15 USD a gallon which works out about $1.20 CAD a litre.
Also note in your example you chose Michigan...which is reasonable enough given it's right on the border. Should note that the minimum wage in Michigan is $7.40 USD which isn't even $8 CAD. In Ontario it's $11. If I was a lower earner I'd likely be finding gas cheaper on the Canadian side of the border.
The Canadian price tracks the price of a barrel of crude fairly well. In the last few years it's been rather precise. You can view here and then just add "Canada average" and check the crude price box in "Chart Settings" just below the graph.

I've heard good things about the book The $100 Startup. Without collateral and a really strong business plan it's really hard to get a loan these days.
A little bit of a stretch but not that much. It's not like we haven't been automating jobs for the past 200 years. I see it as an event that effectively encourages companies to review options for automation.

The Cambridge Dictionary definition of socialism seems to disagree with you:
”the set of beliefs that states that all people are equal and should share equally in a country's money, or the political systems based on these beliefs”
If you work harder than me and make more money, and then the government redistributes enough of your money to me that we now have equal money, how am I not leeching off you? What if I’m just bad at my job? What if I picked a job that is less valuable than yours? What if I slack off a lot? Under which of these scenarios am I not leeching?
How is acknowledging how the economy works “licking the boots of corporatists”? Does that even sound like a realistic description of reality?
Does “relative impoverishment” compared to billionaires matter if I get to benefit from knowledge and calculation becoming cheaper? If my net worth is growing 5% a year in real terms, what does it matter if someone else’s grows 50% or 500%? Why is having equal money a worthy goal?
How exactly did rich people in Canada make poor people poor?
How is subjugating your individual rights to collectivism “standing up for yourself”?
How does any of this “lift up your neighbors”?
How do you know whether I know what I’m taking about? How do you know how widely read I am, my business experience, or what I’ve witnessed visiting communist and socialist countries?
Lol steep incline definitely messes stuff up. Then my next suggestion would be to get a shovel like this this allows you to glide over the gravel without digging in. I used this for a few gravel driveways I had. It makes it very difficult to "shovel" it off the driveway after you push it to the side though
lol the fact is I used to use this shovel because the 48" blade really helped with my speed, but the fiberglass shaft wasn't strong enough when it came to lifting the snow off the driveway, and I would be replacing the shaft every season.
When I saw Canadian Tire had the same idea but with this great ergonomic shaft and D handle, I fit my 48" blade on and it was great.
Check SmartTube app, I have it on my fire stick, it is a custom Youtube client which does not display ads and the interface is as close as possible to the official app. Also it comes with SponsorBlock which skips self promotions and ads that re done in the video itself like promoting NordVPN etc. You have to sideload the app however it is not in the store, there are guides how to do it.
Everyone who cares about stopping this shit needs to read On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder.
