The game is called Rogue Blast Galaxia: Roguelite Survivor and it was inspired by some of my favourite space games such as FTL, Everspace and Freelancer.
You might like Ziggurat, a Heretic-like FPS game, and Our Darker Purpose, which is similar to Binding of Isaac.
I've never played Heavy Bullets, so I can't help with that one. Tower of Guns is almost more of a bullet-hell than an FPS sometimes, but definitely took some inspiration from the classic FPSes like Doom and Unreal Tournament, and it has a really cool mechanical theme to a lot of its visuals. Strafe feels very much like they were trying to 'clone' the gameplay of the classic Quake games (which were some of my favorite games, growing up), and while it's not quite as good as those, I think it's fun.
If you're up for another suggestion and don't mind a more classic swords-and-sorcery setting, Barony is pretty awesome. It has both melee stuff and ranged stuff (wands that blast spells, etc), and feels a lot like the old Hexen and Heretic games (though its visual style seems to take inspiration from newer 'voxel' stuff like Minecraft).
List from the video:
I really like Desktop Dungeons. It is probably the lightest a game can get while still being very true to a classic roguelike experience. You can play the free version here http://www.desktopdungeons.net/media/
I tried to use a lot of what I learned from it while creating my own roguelike-lilke, in special it comes to mind having the screen and game world be much smaller than normal roguelikes (which can be hundred of screens long if you consider different dungeon levels and such). r/javelinrl
I guess you could say r/doomrl is a bit like that as well.
I wonder if I could sell you on a good ol' rogue*like*.
Brogue is a wonderful roguelike. Each run in Brogue is very different and you really feel like you are developing a build each time because you don't upgrade your character but only the random items you find. Its free and a really wonderful game!
Don't be put off by the ascii graphics, they look gorgeous in full screen and there is full mouse control with tooltips and everything. It's a modern game, just with a retro aesthetic.
Caves is an Indie, Pixel Art, Turn based RogueLike by 36dev, that lets you tunnel through the Procedurally Generated Lvls in search of Gold, Upgrade Gems, and Loot! Yes!
Gameplay wise, think turnbased Minecraft, but even more RPG and 2D! YES! The Pixel Graphics look Great, and don't think for one moment this is just another simple mobile clicker. Caves has Depth! As you might suspect from the name. Put in your own 5 skill points when you Lvl, no auto lvls ups here! Player choice! Yes! Find Awesome Loot, including swords, axes, and bows, as well as Revolvers, Bombs, and Dynamite! Boom! Plus unidentified potions and scrolls! Could be great, could be awesome, but test em with caution!
Dive into Science Fantasy Fun with Caves! Magic and Tech! Techno Magic?! Maybe!
Focus on Melee, Ranged, or Luck, or whatever combination you want.
Will you go ranged and rock a revolver? Blasting your foes as you dance away?
Or go old school medievel on em and bash em down? Maybe both?
Plus, Caves offers all sorts of Difficulty options. Stronger monsters, More champions, Hunger clock, or not!
Your game, Your rules!
As a Rogue Like, when you die, you lose your inventory, but you do retain found gold and upgrade gems, as well as schematics you can use to craft more permanant upgrades at your base.
Meta Progression is in the form of this retained gold, the green upgrade gems that unlock new special abilities, like a Teleport, improved Super Speed, Invisibility, and the found crafting options.
Watch me play? And see if these caves call to you?

I’m working on a deck building RPG, with multiclassing and roguelite modes of play for android. Spellsword Cards: Demontide
Hey fellow roguelite players, I would like to show you my new game. It's a platformer with roguelite elements and shooting stuff. There are 40 different items that give you new abilities and 15 different weapons that are affected by these items. I received a lot of positive feedback after posting my first game here- Sacrificial Path. I would love to know what you think about Rundone Heroes.
edit: Google Play Link
Neo Scavenger just released on android, though the UI takes a mite getting used to and its downright punishing for newcomers.. doesn't really fit the normal phone screen, so more for tablets. The demo covers a large portion of the game but doesn't allow saving :/
Pathos may be too much of a classic roguelike, but has the slickest UI made for phones since Pixel Dungeon, whilst still retaining all the complexities of a regular roguelike. Completely free I think
Rereading the post.. nothing carries through from session to session for both my suggestions though :V

I changed android version to free. Sorry for buying this incomplete game with paid.. I have a list of ordering id's of paid people for me(2 US people and 1 Hungary people) and I planning give my next game for free(after complete) if email me with ordering id of this game.
Hey there, I recently released my game Roguescape on itch.io, and I thought that you guys might appreciate it! I'll be happy to take any questions that you have about the game, and I'll respond to any feedback/ideas you have for the game.
>A small, rogue-like dungeon crawler game, inspired by the level generation mechanics of Spelunky. With added platforming elements, an easy-to-use inventory system, and purchasable items, Roguescape offers many levels of gameplay for you to learn as you explore the procedurally-generated dungeon. Talisman will enhance your talents, and the wide variety of enemies will keep you on your toes.
>
>Complete the level objective to progress to the next stage of the dungeon as you strive to get a high score.
>
>BE WARNED
>
>Player health and mana transfer between levels, so make sure to save your mana for when you need it!
Happy Holidays!
Looks fun. The name also reminds of Doug Dug, an excellent little game, not widely known.
Btw as an Android user... are any of these weekly recs available for Android?
Hoplite is a great roguelite for android
Shattered Pixel Dungeon is also really good, but it's more of a traditional roguelike.
Finally, I actually just recently launched my own roguelite called M.Duck - it is a paid app though. It's a roguelite gallery shooter about a duck that knows magic (also available on iOS)
We proudly present our very first game...

Thanks heaps!
mostly yeah.
I've been practicing my pixel art, and wanted to start increasing my itch.io presence, it also taught me how to use godots auto tiler. so it was a perfect situation, it doesn't have all the other cool tiles like items etc but lmk if you do use it. =)
This game is fantastic. I played it 12 hours straight saturday. I cannot stop, for some reason. The replayability of Mana Spark is stratospheric.
Download the demo here http://gamejolt.com/games/mana-spark/146969
Come try out the game here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SPFGrey.Momentum
Momentum is a game I've been working on in my free time for the past year. It's inspired by many games, but I wanted to capture the feeling of blocking and parrying in Dark Souls, as well as the strategic, synergy building gameplay you find in many roguelites, all playable with one hand!
Gameplay is both turn based and real time. Each turn, you pick an attack, which determines the turn order. On your turn, you execute your attack, and you can chain additional attacks if you time it right. On the enemies turn, you block/parry in real time, by tapping the screen whenever an enemy is about to hit you.
Looking forward to hearing your feedback! There's a lot more content I have planned, so stick around :)
Also shoutout to the closed beta testers who submitted those gifs above!
Rogue-like dungeon crawler, Hades, is ringing in the new year with a Major Update brimming with surprises that should perk you right up as you battle out of hell! Available on Steam and Epic Store.
For anyone interested in the game but doesn't have an Android device (like me), you can get the full game for $7 on itch.io, as well as a demo. I haven't tried it out yet as my computer is fried at the moment but it looks very interesting.
I do understand the concerns of making the game turn-based instead of real-time, but making combat strategic based on the tile grid in the brawler style is something I really want to try making, just to see how it plays out. It's not too different from the standard hack'n'slash approach in some rogueli*es, the way I envision things currently.
The way my game loop is set up, I can adjust it from hanging at waiting for player input before cycling through the current list of entities that need to act (while still rendering animations if needed) to letting the player pass on input without halting the entity queue's updates. At that point, I'd tune the "energy" system, which allows for entities to move at different rates within the queue to adjust for the change to "real time", so hopefully I can implement both as modes in the final product if they are both fun to play (or make a decision and cut the other code branch)
And yes, I definitely appreciate the input. I'm a little hesitant to put too much code down at this point; a little bit of analysis paralysis because I'm still learning OOP practices (quick background: self-taught in writing code in a small handful of OOP and scripting languages, now taking classes to learn more of the design and architecture side of software) I've got a little bit of the structure set up for game stats and handling objects (rooms, entities, I've got a "random distribution system" library I pieced together based on the code from here in Java, my language of choice at the moment) but I haven't gotten too in depth yet because I keep playing around with the structure of my code -- I don't want to get stuck into writing sloppy code in the future just because I didn't think things out before I started.
I've bought their Make a Bundle twice before with no problem. It's only a dollar, but I think there's like a $0.30 fee for using Paypal. Still much cheaper than GMG. As the site says, their Make a Bundle is exclusively licensed keys directly from the publishers. There's nothing to worry about.
GMG is just as shady anyways. Check out this scam GMG has going: https://www.greenmangaming.com/loot-boxes/ $0.69 for a random game! Amazing deal, right? Except it's almost exclusively $0.03 games bought from even shadier Russian key sites.
If you're missing a bunch of games from the HRK Make a Bundle, buy one of the larger packs. Many of the games are pretty well rated, though be careful because some have been bundled before for a lot cheaper.
you can play pixel dungeon on a computer for free http://pixeldungeon.watabou.ru/ and decide to buy it on mobile if you like it
it's one of my favorite roguelikes; just know that it's a proper roguelike and not a roguelite
I've done something similar in my game, it's for Android, you learn new active/passive abilities by using certain weapon types: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.KJGames.Doomdepths

A few things:
The player moves from room to room in order to find the door to the next floor. There are different rooms like kitchens, arsenals, bedrooms, chapels, shops, dungeons (contains respawning enemies). Rooms are connected with doors to the left and/or right. Ladders connecting up and down and there are other kinds of connections. Locked doors (need key or switch), trapholes (one-way down) and skills to move to another room or even make new paths. Many rooms are random and decided on a spin-wheel. The player can pick his desired room to give it a higher chance to be picked or used cards to for certain rooms which allow getting the room guaranteed. There are tools and weapons and gear and useful loot...
Yep, it's up for debate whether they are rogue*likes* or rogue*lites, but they're definitely in the same circle either way. And speaking of which, there's a new <em>Shiren</em> game coming out in English later this year (albeit for the mostly-defunct *Vita)...
Edit: I didn't realize this thread was almost a month old, so sorry about that, but my input still stands... :P
If you like platforming roguelites, Meganoid (2017) is pretty fun. There's also Tallowmere.
How about Sigma-finite Dungeon? It is the game I made which is available on android playstore. although it has no save feature(and need some polishing) and lack of contents, I think you'll like it if you are final fantasy tactics fan. https://youtu.be/tdHZjT4dVQE
