I’d agree that many of the books published by Llewelyn are really basic and samey. Some are even damaging. However I don’t agree that all or even most of the books from them can discounted out of hand. They do have some foundational works in their library of publications (The Grimoire of Lady Sheba for example ). As the poster above said, I think it’s all about approaching what you read (whatever the source) with skepticism. A few red flags I use are:
Does the text indicate Ancient Europeans had access to Zea (American corn), pumpkins or other plants not available until after the Columbian Exchange?
Does it say that Wicca is an unbroken tradition handed down through secret covens since pre-Christian times? This isn’t always reason for me to toss the book, older books often fall into this trap because this was the commonly held understanding when they were written. For me this one depends on the publication date.
Is the book too positive? As in all nature is loving. Yeah parasitoid wasps exist... all nature is not loving in the conventional sense.
Am I being sold something?
The Satanic Temple practices unbaptism. Considering that they're atheists (whom I deeply respect and 'officially' joined to financial support their cause to champion freedom of religion), you may want to use some of their rituals in your own.
There isn't a hard and fast witchcraft rites spell that I've seen. I believe Cunningham's book on Wicca has a really nice one that I've read (and you can alter).
Sorry to tell you that you won’t find that here. Things are cherry picked in witchcraft too without regard. PM me, intersectionality hasn’t been a thing I’ve seen but wish was acknowledged.

How about a children's classic - Wizardology! https://www.amazon.com/Wizardology-Book-Secrets-Merlin-Ologies/dp/0763628956
This is a beautiful book with tons of neat details. If you can get a new copy, it would include little extra items like the 'phoenix' feather and dragon pendant. I see this book a lot at secondhand shops, well-loved and with all the extras missing.
This book is mostly just for fun. But at the same time a lot of the 'spells and potions' have basis in real magick traditions.
Kitchen Witchcraft is my specialty! I use a lot of herbs, both in spellwork and in cooking in general. Sprinkling a little rosemary on your food to invoke protection, for example. A great way to start is to look up some of the magical properties of some of your favorite foods/herbs, and when cooking with them just focus your intentions on those properties. Getting a magical encyclopedia like this one is a great investment. I'm not Wiccan, but the book I linked has some great general information in it.
Kitchen Witchcraft is all about turning the mundane into the magical. You can imbue magic into every day tasks like cleaning, cooking, and doing laundry. No elaborate rituals, no complex spells, just natural magic done every single day. It's wonderful.
Maybe some are. It could be argued that many (most?) successful people employ certain types of thinking that could be viewed, from another angle, as "magic". For instance, the stuff presented in Think and Grow Rich. Manifestation, will control, etc. Maybe they aren't aware of what they're doing, or the other names it goes by. Maybe they are.
For many, the craft is a highly spiritual practice. After you've had a few mystical experiences, you tend to view "mundane" reality in a different light. Things that might seem important before, such as owning a lot of material objects, can seem less so after. A more balanced (or even somewhat ascetic) lifestyle is not uncommon for people who have had these experiences, even if they don't call themselves witches.
To answer your other questions, if theories like quantum immortality or a fractal consciousness are accurate, you may be living forever anyway. And there have been plenty of people who have changed their looks, life situations, financial situations, etc. using magic. I just don't think most desire drastic changes, perhaps because they already see such value in their current experience.
I found this book at a bookstore and I've been doing the spells inside for things like gun violence and reproductive rights. It's an awesome little book and I highly recommend it!

Who knows whether she is insane or psychic or both. I suspect this is the book she is talking about, that's the most popular grimoire attributed to St Cyprian. But witches do cry. We're just like regular people... We cry, we bleed, we suckle the devil from our witch's teat.
This is always what I recommend for magical training. This is SPECIFICALLY magic training. The author leaves it up to the individual to customize it for their own personal religious/spiritual traditions, should you want to.
If you are not looking to become a hermetic magician I would say ignore his ethics comments, but other than those, the practical sections of this book are a perfect guide. It’s entirely results based.
Initiation into Hermetics is the best training manual available to the public I have ever seen. There is nothing better than Initiation into Hermetics for basic legit magical training imo.
Remember training is a full time job (or at least should be worked as a part time job, obviously more training is better than less)
It’s very very hard training, but it’s all legit. If you do it right, you’ll come out of the other side a true witch.
But remember unless you dedicate yourself to your training, all you’ve bought is a paperweight.
Don’t skip steps even if you believe you are already beyond them. Don’t move on before you have mastered each step. It will take a few years to complete if you work this book seriously and daily
I don't know that site in particular, but it's design reminds me of all the old geocities witchcraft sites from back in the day.
Browsing this DMOZ archive is really nostalgic.
For witchcraft: read, practice, journal. The best time to start your BoS is now because it will help you internalize your knowledge and experiences. It will give you a record of your progress over the years. :)
For natural medicine: there are schools that teach practitioners. You can also learn how to use herbs and such in home remedy type ways. Thousands of volumes detailing this sort of thing are published, such as The Doctors Book of Home Remedies: Quick Fixes, Clever Techniques, and Uncommon Cures to Get You Feeling Better Fast .
I have this Very Big Sketchbook as my Book. I hot glued in scrapbook paper from michaels, those are like .87 cents. And I print off all my work (spells pictures rituals) because I’m not sitting here writing everything down when I’ve already made my documents look nice.
I like this method because I can tear the paper out and the scrapbook background may be damaged a little, but I can always glue something back over it and tada like new. Also, I’m the only one whose ever gonna see it so I do what I want.
Edit: I LOVED watching charmed and always wanted a Book as thick as theirs so I really love this sketchbook and it was only $27.
Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs is a great resource for the many, many uses of herbs and other plants in magickal rituals.
Edit: Also, a ttrpg with accurate herbalism mechanics sounds cool as hell, I'd love to play it when it's complete!
I have not, but I did come across a relevant book recently. It's called "A Guidebook for Priests and Priestesses of Shetaut Neter and the Organization of the Modern Neterian Temple." Here's the link.
The forward has a section on Khepri and the Creation Myth, but I imagine the sections on choosing a tutelary divinity and the disciplines and rituals of followers would be particularly relevant.
Anyone who feels called to do so :) I'm also a Filipina who feels called to practice magic, I recommend researching the Babaylan, the 'witches' of pre-colonial times in the Philippines.
This is a great book to familiarize yourself with the Babaylan spirit: https://www.amazon.com/Babaylan-Indigenous-Leny-Mendoza-Strobel/dp/1492247901/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_14_t_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=4W2GJXQ36HKFPSZPKWCP (Amazon is terrible but I can't find any other place that sells the book...) Or just doing research on the internet can turn up some really good free resources.

The Babaylans were the first that the colonists killed and fed to the crocodiles as she was/is the pillar of the community. I believe those of us (pilipinx) who feel a calling to magic are being reached by the Babaylan spirit :)
While a movie or show didn't teach me anything in particular, when I first saw The Craft in 96 it made a friend and I realize there was a belief system other then Christianity. That day we started scouring the primitive search engines of the time.
We stumbled upon this site and that site, eventually found a web ring, clicked through it devouring each page of text in awful colour combinations or white text on black background.
Equipped with terms we went on Amazon and found names of books to look for. We checked my library and the one in his town (friend from tae kwan do), we checked bookstores at malls. We got anything we could and devoured it. He 12 and I 11. Now in our 30's, while states separate us, we both still practice our own variations of pagan beliefs and continue to explore all those out there.
Hell, Aaron even made a tabletop roleplaying game that uses tarot for character generation https://www.amazon.com/Fatecrafter-Aaron-Haltom/dp/1545351023/
So I'd say that I indirectly learned all of my magick from The Craft.
However, if you will be anywhere between the Congo in the West, Perm, Russia in the North, or the India/Bangladesh boarder in the East, then you will get to see complete totality for sometime.

Typically speaking, you find a reflective surface (mirror, crystal ball, puddle, oil, etc.), allow your gaze to relax, and see where it takes you.
Most scryers tend to like black mirrors as you don't really want to focus on yourself or things around you, but still need the reflective surface.
Some people hear things, some people see images or concepts, others see actual things playing out before them. Depends on the person, their abilities, their mindset, and probably your ancestors. :)
I tend to light some incense and candles and sit down and disconnect from myself while gazing with a very relaxed gaze (like, not even focusing). For me, I tend to see images, words, or numbers come to me through this process. But there have been times where I have reached a meditative/trance like state and I have experienced something like out of body.
This book is a nice starter for anyone who is interested in scrying and it's history: The Art of Black Mirror Scrying

Those could all be linked if there are other things going on in your life such as stress, depression, eating disorders, chemical or hormonal imbalances. I'd follow the advice of the other posters and see a professional just to see if there are any physical causes.
There's also no shame in low libido and sexual desire ebbs and flows with everything else around us. It could be the the seasonal change affecting you (or maybe something like a pandemic or upcoming election). In terms of witchcraft, this might be a fun read. It's only $3 too.
I found this on amino by a person named Aynir. I'm a type of person that hate having to go to another page to read something so I copied and pasted it here. Here is the link to the original posters page if I messed up somewhere or if you want to give credit to the original poster.
you might want to get in touch with Wendy Joubert, author of a little grimoire called "Sea Witch" . The book isn't available on Amazon Kindle anymore, but in the ebook she mentions she'd love to correspondence with others...
Not to add to the pointless debate that's ensued, "rosary" is a word associated with a specific religion. The term "prayer beads" is more commonly used in regards to all and non-Christian religions. It's an umbrella term, the rosary is one type of prayer beads. Just like the mala (used in Hindu & Buddhist practices) is another type. There is no universal format, each style of prayer beads differs from one religion/culture to the next. Personally, I think it is better not to use the term "rosary" as it is most closely associated with Catholicism/Christianity and Neopaganism already has enough borrowed baggage due to Christianity's general influence on society. "Prayer beads" conveys what the object is and without confusion or debate.
If you're not adhering to a tradition, then the number and layout of prayer beads would be whatever is significant to you. A couple of books that could help you get some ideas are "Mindful Beads" by Alice Peck and "Pagan Prayer Beads" by John Michael Greer & Clare Vaughn. A search on any bookseller site, Amazon or otherwise, will likely produce several other titles.
Another idea is to buy a set like this National Geographic rock set. For only $25. I bought one for myself for my 27th birthday and I loved it! It's supposed to be for little kids, but whatever, rocks is rocks. Mine had a great assortment of both tumbled and rough stones, unbroken geodes, some small fossils and sharks teeth. Even some little chunks of meteorite! I've had it for a month, and I dump it out ever so often and sort through them trying to identify everything. So far some of my favorites are small desert roses, a gram sized hunk of both raw rose quartz and aquamarine, some beautiful tumbles tigers eye and some sort of red agate, and the golf ball sized geode filled with clear quartz. Highly recommend. I will probably buy more honestly.
z-lib.org is full of books. I highly suggest buying the physical books you enjoy to support the authors when you can afford/are able to, but until then this is an amazing resource.
Runes for Beginners is the book that I see everywhere. I can’t attest to its quality because I learned a different way, but it’s all the rage in the local new age shops.
Mostly afterward.

For future reference, super glue is not great for adhering to glass. Also, it's good to apply some sort of sealant to the cork, so it doesn't absorb the liquid in the bottle and either release the moisture out of the bottle, or dissolve. I like to brush on an even coat of this stuff (link to a glue on amazon) but any glue that can adhere to both woods and glass/ceramic will work. You'll often find such glues in jewelry making sections of stores near the glass beads, wires, etc.
Learning to concentrate/focus is very important to making the mind chatter shut down... Most will say to do that by meditation. However there are many ways to meditate. You can do it while vacuuming, which was I did when I was in my 20s and had a cleaning business. You can do it while walking, sweeping, gardening or while commuting via public transit. Count your breaths and when your mind wanders come back to your breathe. That's 'unguided', unfocused meditation. Another way is to memorize a short phrase (aka mantra). It should be short, positive statement, easy to memorize and descriptive of a deep value or goal. For example, "I am getting better at concentrating."; "I love myself, I trust myself, I am beautiful."; " I am more connected to my deepest self." You get the idea. Another way to meditate is to use a Major Arcana Tarot card. Rider-Waite-Smith is best because of the colors and the vibrations they trigger.
Additionally, you might try seeing if unfocused meditation is easier while listening with headphones to Binaural Beats/Brain Entrainment for concentration...I think you'd want Alpha waves (meditation) Gamma wave sounds (concentration and attention) ... So YouTube is not good for binaural beats due to the compression used for the sound files. I use an app on my android mobile device: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ihunda.android.binauralbeat There are also websites where you can go to try it out. I find the pure sound without space music works best, but check some out yourself. Also try listening to Tibetan Bells (YouTube templesounds channel is really good) might be helpful.
If you're looking for reading, this website has a crap ton of free books.
To echo the person above, I started my witchcraft journey on Tumblr (my blog if you're interested ;) ) Start your own blog. Save things that you think are important. MAKE SURE TO BOOKMARK, or you'll never find anything ever again lol
A lot of folk magic is just everyday stuff that laypeople can do. You don't have to be a practiced magic practitioner to bury an alder horse in the foundation of your barn.

Also, if you have amazon prime then you can use the prime reading or pay 99p for 3 months to access kindle unlimited which is like a digital library.
You can also sign up for a free trial with audible, download an audio book and cancel the subscription (you still get to keep the book)
Actually, 23andMe has a new self-building family tree. Also, they don't share data with their research partners that isn't de-identified (stripped of identifying information) and aggregated (merged together with other results so that individual data isn't discernible), and participating in research is optional and voluntary.

AncestryDNA appears to follow a similar data sharing policy.
Fairy tales have a lot of knowledge of spirits laced in them. It was probably how the knowledge of old beliefs was spread amongst women and children back in the day. There's information on where to go to cross, the woods to use, little rituals, who you'll meet and most important of all: how to act once your there.
Usually, I sing nonsense songs honestly. They just come and go. Or I'll sing some variation of the "I will go into a hare" song. If you google it, you'll find the little chant floating around.
I guess I'm just advising care with flying ointment because too much of it can sort of mess a person up. I found an interview with this fantastic witch, Juniper, where she talks about that actually. Worth a listen if you have some time.
I second cooking/baking with lavender!! These lavender vanilla scones are to die for. They’re just as calming to eat as they are to make.
Not the OP but I got mine on amazon just now. I bought a cheapy
But it was like less than $2 with tax, free shipping too. (Im broke, so cheap is up my alley right now)

This deck is 10 bucks. This Rider Waite is $12. I know some people get all particular about a deck that "matches their energy" but I am fairly confident that forging a connection with physical cards will be easier than with an app. If $10 is hard to come by (these are hard times) I'd pick it up for you, but that would require giving a stranger your address, which, admittedly, I myself would generally advise against.
No problem! If you have the ability to purchase books, you could check our Moon Magic by Aurora Kane (note that there is another book called Moon Magic by Diane Ahlquist - I haven’t read that one and can’t speak to it).
But Kane’s book is a good introduction to Moon Magic. It is fairly high level but goes over the phases as well as introducing other topics like incorporating crystals, tarot astrology etc.
It would be a good place to start to see what areas you might want to dive into more deeply.
Here is the Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/Moon-Magic-Handbook-Mystical-Energies/dp/1577151879/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=aurora+kane&qid=1627141263&sr=8-6
It doesn’t need to be artsy. It needs to be functional. If your problem is that you can’t find anythin after the fact, that’s a very legitimate concern. Here is how I have dealt with that:
Number the pages.
Give everything a title or at least write some key words at the top (basically, tag your entries).
Make an index and/or table of contents on a separate piece(s) of paper that you can fold up and tuck in the front or back of the book.
When you move onto your next volume (ie when the notebook you’re using right now is full) you might consider applying that ahead of time, like leaving x number of pages blank at the beginning to gradually fill in with a table of contents.
If you’re a digitally inclined person despite wanting a physical Book of Shadows, these notebooks may be of interest to you. If you have neat enough printing it even will let you use word search later on the digitised version.
I would suggest meditating on the deck in its proper order? The deck tells it's own story and meditating on it would help you travel the deck yourself?
This is one of my favorite decks. I think this would be a great deck to do this with!
You're welcome. I hope it helps. :)
Here is my complete list of recommended starter books:
Starter Books In this order:
The Spiral Dance, by StarHawk.
Scott Cunningham anything, but firstly his Wicca: The Solitary Practioner, and the Earth, Air, Fire & Water books.
Encyclopedia of Spirits
The Witches Bible
Green Witch, Series by Ann Moura
RavenWolfs, To Ride a Silver Broomstick, Stir a Magic Cauldron, and Light a Sacred Flame. Also her Solitary book is like an encyclopedia of witchcraft (reads more towards teens but I find it useful).
Conways, By Oak, Ash and Thorn. This is Celtic Shamanism
Shamanism is also something cool to consider
Runes I suggest Freya Aswyn's, Feminine Mysteries.
Egyptian: Circle of Isis
Yeah, I am old. 39 years old, it was the most popular witchcraft book in the day!
Have you seen the Psychic Witch? It's full of meditations.
You could possibly use candles like these

They have no real flame or scent but they can change colors so you can use them for anything you need (:
Hey there, I totally feel you! I was there myself, wanting to get a yoni egg kit but questioning why in the fork the pricing was so high. But all the points raised here are very valid. You really want to use a stone that is non-porous and non-toxic and that was not treated with any dye or chemicals when polished. I winded up purchasing nephrite jade from Polar Jade. My man is the one that pushed to get them from Polar Jade because he researched the crap out of companies that would be thorough in providing quality and certified gem stones that are safe to use, and that's what came up! He is so much more concerned for my lady parts' well-being then I am, I wonder why...? ;P
At first I was questioning the purchase, thinking why would I pay so much, specially for a stone that doesn't look as stunning as Tiger eye or Sun stone (Nephrite jade is actually very dark green, almost black, it's nothing like the jade you see in movies) but now that I have them and use them regularly, I really don't regret paying the price for the certification that comes with the eggs. Plus they are a Canadian company, and I believe the Jade they use is also from Canada. Here is an Amazon link
Hope this helps!
If you want something that you can actually cook with, but looks more witchy, there's this product on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AFLP06S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_6mEfzbJQS1VN4 (sorry, I'm on mobile and I forget the markdown code to make the link nice)
I don't have it cuz I'm poor af, but it's something I found that I totally want for that sort of thing. I'd use it as a scrying bowl in addition to a cauldron. It's a black dolsot. A dolsot is a large bowl-shaped Korean serving dish. Typically, you cook in it, and then take it to the table for everyone to eat from.
Edit: This probably won't work out for you if you want to use it over an open fire. It has no cauldron style handle. But I think it would work pretty well just to burn stuff in, or make potions on a stove, and it does look black enough to scry with. I had found it initially when looking for a scrying bowl, can you tell? lol
It really is! It's a great way to know the basics and it's quite cheap! Also the cover is really pretty ;) here's the amazon link
A birth chart is your astrological chart that goes beyond the sun sign. Works better if you know at what time you were born. here's a website that can generate it for you. It also explains what each signs mean :)
You're welcome!! I'm really happy if I could help you get some tools so you can easily get started! :D
Hey, not sure if it's what you're looking for but AstroMatrix sounds like AstroFuture. You can put different peoples info in there and see their charts.
i don't think it's the one you're referring to since it doesn't have the word spell in the title (also, i only saw the cover in a couple pictures online, so idk about the text or length), but from the description it sounds like this one
You use molds. I get them off Amazon. But I also used to make baby food for my daughter and the baby bullet food silicone containers are awesome for small candles. I also like soy wax for spell candles that I want to burn all the way down since it burns quicker. Same with using the baby food container to make it since it is much smaller.
This is the mold I recommend Check this out at Amazon.com Mann Lake "Cylinder" Candle Mold, 3-Inch by 3-Inch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NAQA81C/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_IzIgFbTZSYS49
The baby food containers are something like this Check this out at Amazon.com Baby Food Freezer Trays & Reusable Food Pouches | Baby Food Storage Pouch Perfect for Serving Homemade Healthy Smoothies & Purees | Easy Clean & Saves Money | Baby Food Containers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KY112YT/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_EBIgFbKFRJPF0
Most witches appreciate a good crystal. Clear quartz is pretty versatile, and selenite, rose quartz, and amethyst are also good beginner choices (Etsy has plenty of affordable options). Also found an amazon link to a pretty cute looking set of crystal chips here
Candles are pretty great too—pillars, tapers, even tealights can be really useful. White is multipurpose and probably the easiest to find literally anywhere, but any colour is great.
I like to think our ancestors didn't drop a cool grand on a fancy wand so why should I? It's about finding the magical in the mundane. If you find a rock on the ground for your altar or a twig on the forest floor to use in your practice. I worry there's too much emphasis on materialism and consumerism in witching these days.
As for books, there's a ton of resources at your local library if you have access to one. If you don't, the Brooklyn Public Library has a program where you can pay $50 per year for access to their entire eBook collection without having to be a resident of NYC. Also check out Project Gutenberg for tons of free books.
Of course, we should support our artists and craftspeople but there's so much of this world that we can imbue with purpose without having to spend money. Good luck!
I only know of resources in English, and not many at that. You're more likely to find good material in Portuguese. That being said, I have two things off the top of my head that might pique your interest:
Check out what other things these authors have written too, and see if they might be of interest to you.
Also,
>I can find tons of stuff regarding occult and witchy things relating to Jewish origins
What have you found? It's been hard for me to find genuine resources sometimes.
You might want to look into hot foot powder, which I think you can make with regular kitchen spices. This site seems to be cited a lot, and a quick look through Tumblr brought up these recipes.
You might look into those as a starting point and build from there.
You also might wanna look at using a poppet in sympathetic magic to bind her negative energy to herself?
Here's what I would throw together for that intention, feel free to build on or revise where inspired to do so; DIY is often strongly recommended for spellwork so this is just to give some ideas.
Mnemosyne is the entity I would involve in this, being the mother of muses in Greek myth, with dominion over memory and loose associations with time, she fits the bill pretty precisely.
So invocation shoutouts (literal or metaphorical) to Mnemosyne while drawing an enneagram as a working centerpiece large enough for a candle, which would be pink in color (or white as an all-purpose color).
Glass-contained candle is ideal. Have a mirror included in the altar/workspace setup if practical, add rose and/or clear quartz as able.
Break up some cinnamon sticks (not powdered form) and dried rose petals (which would be either red, also pink, or both, depending on what's available). Add to candle, let burn all the way down as safely as possible. Although cinnamon scented candles are a thing and would be thematically appropriate, typically being an artificial scent, I wouldn't recommend it over actual cinnamon.
Using colors red, pink, yellow, and white, weave a short cord while focusing on the specific memories and times to be reflected on, any verbal aids reinforcing these specifics may be chanted at this time.
Completed cord may be either tied around candle, worn as DIY jewelry, or tied off to a tree (encourages growth and continues to feed the spell). If at any time the spell needs to be undone for whatever reason, just undo the cord while focusing on neutralizing the energy.
If you want to take lunar phase into consideration for this, waxing moon would be recommended.
If you are looking for a small-sized download, you can try Jarte. It's a simple word processor that is missing some features in the free version, but it's worth a try if you want to keep your files private.
Hi, I have already posted this link on reddit, but here you go: https://www.scribd.com/doc/261643751/Liber-Azag-The-Book-of-Sigils
This book contains information about servitor creation (and many other things) in 4 different paradigms.
I actually did just post about my witchcraft-focused podcast! :) It's for my patreon(.com/mansin) and the main body of them will be for beginners and then it will go on toward more advanced techniques of witchcraft.
But yeah, that's one option. If you don't want to follow my Patreon, I will be crossposting the podcasts on my tumblr as well (trueriptide).
EDIT; Copied and pasted the post, since I guess it was removed..
Hey guys, I figured you all may be interested! I have a podcast getting set up here! It's primarily for my Patreon, which I will release further basics/advanced witchcraft/spellwork podcasts and youtube videos.
I more than welcome any suggestions re: rewards and ideas for videos and podcasts.
Thank you for looking!
Take any evil eye protection talisman wherever you go and do an egg cleanse (like DueWafer5781 posted - this one is with interpretation) is what I'd do for now.
This is indeed helpful. She's been reaching out since I was about 13 or so, and now 11 years later, I am more equipped with opening up to mediumship, the craft in general, etc.
It's kind of interesting too that, with mediumship, I am generally comfortable with touch as my most familiar form of contact/communication, and as I was thinking about her, I felt a gentle touch on the upper back like a caring mother (that which I am not really getting in my own familial life at the moment). Upon coming out of the bathroom that same night, thinking of her, I turned off the faucet, started to exit, and it turned on again.
I bought a book recently too that I think will help me connect a bit more, which should be here tomorrow: https://www.amazon.com/Lunessence-Devotional-Selene-Bibliotheca-Alexandrina/dp/1523449128
I have read a lot of good reviews of it.
I'd like to add Jason Miller's Elements of Spellcrafting for further exploration. It's not a hard and fast recommendation, as I personally tend to be a little more skeptical about Miller's work, but it's useful and informative enough that I don't feel the need to add any caveat emptor to it. And I'm pretty positive it's on zLibrary, although I only mention that for purely informational purposes.
Start with the more common one. If it clicks with you stick with that? If you want another suggestion you could check out Runelore by Edred Thorsson. Its a very in depth historical look at the runes.
I fully believe in fairy's. But I haven't really heard of leprechauns exhibiting that behavior of stealing? Is it common for them to steal items? Brownies are well known for it but they are also well known helping out too. If it is a nice fairy you might able to petition it to help you with magic!
My gut though, says it's a child. I could be wrong, I am no expert. Your brother leaving the door open could have actually happened, or a metaphor that he mentally opened the door for her to come in? Or she followed him home.
I'd love to hear back if you figure it out. I am so fascinating the spirit world. My favorite book is the Encyclopedia of Spirits. You might want to check it out? Or check out some books on Fairy magic?
This is the only real book I have it. I have been trying to find a better one.
I highly recommend the book the Encyclopedia Spirits, it has every deity and how to honor them in it.
I am as white and Irish mix as they come, and I have been drawn to Egyptian deities. I have kind of struggled with this (being white) , but finally, just embraced that I had multiple past lives there. So don't discount your feelings. :)
I use the Goddess Oracle often, and Pele and Sekhmet both come up for me a lot! I have had some great meditations with Pele. :)
I also love these dvds: https://www.amazon.com/Island-Dance-Fitness-Workout-Beginners/dp/B0002ILKC2/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Hula+dance&qid=1624553218&sr=8-3
The reason any form of divination works is because there's a common method of communication between you (point A) and whatever is at the other end (point B). Looking over photos of the cards, this deck seems to be extremely intuitive - the meanings are written right on the cards. In all honesty, even guidebooks that come with Tarot decks can vary slightly about how they describe or discuss the cards, each author imparting their own biases. With a deck like this, with one-word descriptions, each reader is left to intuit the meanings that come naturally to them. I've owned a similar deck with text on the cards and I don't think the guidebook explained each card, just vaguely went over spreads. Now, if you were using cards to communicate back and forth with another living person, this wouldn't work out super well... however if you're asking questions and getting answers from some source which can know how it needs to communicate with you, I imagine it'll work out.
For example, I have a text-less oracle deck called Soulcards 2, which is pure imagery with no defined meanings, however they can communicate perfectly well to me. The difference between something like this and Tarot is that it feels less clinical, less exact, and different readers will intuit different meanings - which is fine! The only reason everyone needs to be speaking the same language is if you intend to constantly be asking others for a second opinion on a reading (which I don't personally advise doing).
I found the one they have on amazon : https://www.amazon.com/Nemesis-Now-Wiccan-Pentagram-Tealight/dp/B01LXYQQO0 not the exact same design but similar
I also listen to the Portal app when I sleep. It has a bunch of high-quality recordings of different nature sounds that can help drown out noise.
Bone throwing/casting is another thing you can check out. It doesn't have to be just bones, it can be shells, acorns, and other found objects. This book might help you if you are interested in learning more: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0971961271
that's awesome dude, keep it up !
ah yes, the pain of being a beginner witch when youre young n broke. since there's really not that much information on spells try doing 'connect-the-dot research' (-i made that up so if you look it up and find nothing, that's why) basically go to things like tiktok, Tumblr, Pinterest, wattpad, or even wiccan and witchcraft apps:
Wiccan and Witchcraft Spells
Wiccan & Witchcraft Spells
and start out by trying to find the same spell on each of those, so look up 'luck spell' on each of those apps for example and see the common ingredients and methods used throughout, then you can either use Google or those same apps to find the meaning being the ingredients used so if green candle wax was used, search for what it means in witchcraft, then it'll most likely lead to colour magick for example, or maybe it used bay leaves- look up what that means, herb magick, etc. etc. basically just sit down and deep dive into spell research and try to get the type of understanding where if you saw a new spell, you'd automatically be able to predict what it contains based on what you've learnt about other spells- connect the dots kinda thing.
I would definitely start with stepping up your skin care game! I recommend getting a cleanser, sunscreen and moisturizer at the very least. Since you have acne you most likely have oily skin type. I use this face wash and love it! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QQMDXMV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_7TJGVYQ02958JQ203G8Q?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Now for moisturizers I use Dermalogica active moist. But that is a little pricey. You can look around for something good for oily skin. It's also super important to use sunscreen because sun exposure makes your acne worse.
Hi! Have you picked up any books on Witchcraft? If not there's a great recommended reading thread that recently happened here: https://www.reddit.com/r/witchcraft/comments/lirafs/what_are_the_best_books_on_witchcraft_that_are/gn50sy8?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3
For your psychic abilities IMO the best thing to do is learn how to ground and center first, then learn how to shield, or protect your aura from unwanted intrusion. When my 3rd eye opened strongly it was hard to live a normal life because I could feel people walking down the path next to my house and being able to feel someone at that range was somewhat disorienting. There's a good book, Managing Your Psychic Abilities here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1844097005/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_VPPKKKP86KXHMWASAPT2
Magia Magia is a book that might fit the bill! It have not read it, but it was recommended by a group in Texas.
Amazon - actually a tiny bit cheaper 😉
Brajttt 64PCS Cork Stoppers Glass Bottles, DIY Decoration Tiny Glass Jars Favors,Mini Vials Cork,10ml Storage Container for Art Crafts,Small Glass Jars for Wedding Party Supplies https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SHKBMDC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_kgi.Fb8B7TT4A?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I'd say it's decent knowledge because they do base some of their info on the Kabballah, which has been proven to work. The book I suggested also uses info from the Kabballah. I think you're good either way. Angels are easy to contact if you are sincere, if not, then you'll be left on "read". Although, I am going to recommend this book anyway, because it has pretty cool spells I haven't seen anywhere else: https://www.amazon.com/Archangels-Magick-Rituals-Prosperity-Divination-ebook/dp/B078T8MWPY/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1608080162&sr=8-1
It has archangel divination, which will tell you the most likely future that will happen if your life follows it's current path and what could happen if you use magic to change that. Although, unlike tarot cards, they Will flat out tell you if you are holding yourself back and why. Tarot cards be like: your past is holding you back.
Angels be like: that kid punched you in 5th grade and that's why you're childfree.
Ooo ooh oh oh I have a perfect recommendation!!! https://www.amazon.com/Paganism-Beginners-Complete-Nature-Based-Spirituality/dp/1646117050
This is 100% the book I wish existed when I start
The author also has excellent classes and a warding book. 15/10
I'm only about halfway through it, but consider "Ritualcraft" by Amber K. https://www.amazon.com/RitualCraft-Creating-Rites-Transformation-Celebration/dp/1567180094 It's from a Wiccan perspective, but it is about what makes good, or bad ritual, and not all the examples are Wiccan.
In addition to a good reference book, as suggested, I recently picked up The Crystal Witch by Leanna Greenaway & Shawn Robbins, and it's amazing! Beautifully illustrated, with all sorts of info on crystals, energy & spellwork. It's stunningly gorgeous too. It comes & goes on Amazon, but worth getting your hands on.
The Crystal Witch: The Magickal Way to Calm and Heal the Body, Mind and Spirit
broom closet witch here too 🙌🏻 these are pretty cool they have timers built in.

One of my favorite books is this one.
A little, advanced perhaps for beginners some might think, I would say t really.
https://www.amazon.com/Nocturnal-Witchcraft-Magick-After-Dark/dp/0738701661
You should check out the book Encyclopedia of Spirits: The Ultimate Guide to the Magic of Fairies, Genies, Demons, Ghosts, Gods & Goddesses by Judika Illes. Here is a link to it on Amazon
Just scrolling through Amazon, I found this that may be helpful to you.
Sure! She came from Amazon. It was the nicest looking one I could find that didn't get real male gaze-y. According to the reviews, her sword is brittle and can snap if it falls over so I actually used double stick tape to attach her to that shelf and she's been fine.
In the UK you can but unscented candles in any hardware store or supermarket, Amazon also sells many different sorts. This, for instance, is 72 soy candles for $22.
Really hard to go wrong with Scott Cunningham: https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Incense-Llewellyns-Practical-Magick/dp/0875421288. There is also an assortment of pre-made incenses on Amazon as well as materials for making. I have always enjoyed the pre-made incenses from Escential Essences.
Someone I used to follow for witchy stuff back when I was on Tumblr published a book in 2017
Grovedaughter Witchery: Practical Spellcraft by Bree NicGarran
Not a lot of reviews on Amazon, but all of them seem to be 5 stars
I use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrustonapps.mymoonphase
You can set it so it notifies you for a new moon, first quarter moon, full moon, last quarter moon, supermoon, solstice, or equinox. It also tells you which sign the moon is in, moonrise and moonset, and what the cloud coverage should be like. I'm not sure if it's available on Apple devices though, so you might have to look somewhere else if that's what you use
Alright, so 'calm' is good for its free 7 day intro which helps trainnyou to clear your mind and keep that longer and longer. I think it has a daily freebie for longer ones, but the intro is good enough.
'Headspace' Has similar stuff with the intro days, but as its more mental health focused it has some useful guided meditations for grounding.
And finally, 'Lets Meditate' which I bothered to link has a random assortment of begginner to intermediate guided meditations, which I've personally found quite powerful.
Meditation is a bit of a muscle, so doing the guided helps build that up. I find when seeking answers that a grounding meditation that roots me into the world, and opens me up to the universe usually does the trick.
This book had been recommended to me. I haven't read it yet, but her other books are pretty direct forward after you pass the history section.

Intuitive Witchcraft by Astrea Taylor is FANTASTIC! If you want a book with the message "your witchcraft is valid" this is THE book!
https://www.amazon.com/Intuitive-Witchcraft-Intuition-Elevate-Craft/dp/0738761850
The Path: Psychomancy by Astora Diam teaches basic magick techniques from the perspective of the psychological model. I think it's good to be familiar with as many different models of reality and magick as possible, and the psychological model/psychomancy is a pretty distinctive model. https://www.amazon.com/Path-Psychomancy-Astora-Diam-ebook/dp/B08F2YD1GM
this is a link to round dish soap haha
Hello! I too recently started learning about tea leaf reading (or tasseography; isn't that word just neat?) and this book is what I ran into first. It's available for free for kindle, and I really liked it, so I recommend it!
It keeps changing through years. Like your practice, the travel altar will evolve! I recently added the missing Pentacle from the video (!) and changed the small athame for this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ASANCX4/
First, keep it simple. Take what you already own, and buy what you are missing from a dollar store. With time, you will want to 'upgrade' to fancier stuff! :)
After consulting my doctor and getting and MRI and cat scan, which I recommend you do, we realized it’s side affects from my medication that is causing my migraines. So I got a bottle of Headache Relief Oil to use. Works great. I also make sure I drink plenty of water and if it gets really bad and a strong coffee doesn’t work, then I take 200mg of ibuprofen just to take the edge off.
I've never heard of that, I guess I just haven't come across them. Haha I really really enjoyed this sabbat book series https://www.amazon.com/dp/0738742163/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_QhFfFb6BKXE8N they have a book for each sabbat and It has everything from the history of the sabbat (which is one of my favorite parts of learning) to traditions to alter decor to simple spells and activities. I also just find people on youtube and pinterest. I really enjoy Molly Robert's, the white witch parlour and Hearthwitch. The last two I'm pretty sure show different alter set ups. hope that helps.

It’s a type of origami I taught my kids how to do it when we made an escape room last spring in school. One of them brought this: https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/Odd-Dot/dp/1250235960.
They used to to make secret messages.
