So, full disclosure, I don't manage the iOS Xbox App beta invites or process, but I did find this: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=v4j5cvGGr0GRqy180BHbRy-wRtSK6PNEpsAQWl0jmWlUQzZIWFhHOUZRUDdWTFdDMlpXWjNDSlJKWS4u
It's worth a shot to sign up, but quite frankly I don't know if they're taking invitations anymore, as the Apple beta program does enforce population limits. This form was last updated a year ago.
As for your feature request -- because the Xbox App (beta) is offered on the Apple store, I don't realistically see how we can fulfill that for users directly. Apple does their beta program quite differently than other marketplaces do. It works for them, and we adhere to their requirements as we do in other marketplaces too. Remember, you can always file your feedback through the console, and there are categories for app and mobile.
For those looking for an alternative, I found a tool called XMeters. It does everything I need and is very customisable and very performance efficient. It currently has a CPU, RAM, storage, and network meter. I spoke to the developer and they're busy adding on a GPU meter as well. It's free if anyone wants to check it out!
Yeah this is not completely true. I just tried it when I saw this post. I connected with NordVPN turned on and it worked for me. It worked better without it on for sure, but it it didn't prevent me from connecting.
It’s been years since I’ve done it, but I do recall OTG only working one way. Like, I’d I used it in one direction it didn’t work, but it would work the other way around. Easiest solution might be using a usb-c to usb-c cable and a usb-c to micro adapter. An example: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Convert-Connector-Support-Compatible/dp/B07GH5KJH2
The PowerA Nano Controller is smaller. Too bad it‘s wired: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B7P3D7FG/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=1KUIBCPUL6UOX&keywords=power%2Ba%2Bnano%2Bxbox%2Bcontroller&qid=1670872348&sprefix=power%2Ba%2Bnano%2Caps%2C197&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1
Jfc, this is the worst place for tech support.
For anyone that just said "Plug your WiFi (cord) in" or something to that affect, please go run head first straight into a wall. You deserved that.
The "Wi" in Wi-Fi literally means Wireless. Wtf is a wireless cord??
OP, This is an Ethernet cable. It's 100 feet long, and it's Cat 7 (I'll explain that in a bit). I keep a few of these around for emergencies, like when your WiFi isn't working. I suggest you buy one and do the same to finish your update. If you're a kid living at home, ask mom/dad to please get this and that it's only temporary, you can even return it once you're done and everything is working. If you have a job or a source of income, just buy it.
You can plug this in the back of your Xbox and all the way to the back off you router, 100 feet should be more than enough length for most situations. It's Cat7, which means it has shielding that works to prevent interference or cross talk for the best speed possible speed at long distances; even though your router or Xbox may not support Cat7, it's backwards compatible with Cat 6a, Cat6, Cat 5e, etc. Simply put, this will work and be faster than any WiFi out there.
that sounds like a PSU failure or a bad cable somewhere. There are videos on youtube here showing you how to service your xbox one x and make sure it has proper thermal conductivity as well as how to upgrade your hard drive to SSD and clean your Xbox.
If the solutions in the video do not fix your Xbox, one or more of the components in your console could potentially have reached its EOL. At this point your console is also probably out of warranty but to my knowledge you might be able to find the parts you need on the web.
Good luck and Take Care!
If you haven't already done so, trying from another app version may help. I believe both the Google Play store and the Samsung Galaxy store have a beta version in addition to the standard version.
From the Google Play store, as an example: Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass (Beta). I don't have the links to the Galaxy store versions, but I'm sure you can find them by searching.
Thanks for the reply! I appreciate any input with this issue. Another question I have in response would be asking about mono chat headsets like this one:
Platronics Rig H100HX https://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-Gaming-Headset-100HX-Range/dp/B075DK78FW
Would any mono chat headset cause the same result, switching speaker settings to stereo?
Currently, you can no longer buy 12 months of Gold for $60 from the Microsoft website; they removed this option back in mid-late 2020.
The OP is requesting that option to come back because it is more convenient than trying to buy physical cards. But it's not like you can't buy it digitally anywhere else like, say, [Amazon] for cheaper.(https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Live-Gold-Membership-Digital/dp/B002VBWIP6/). 🤷♂️
You might be aware of this, but they actually released the Bedrock server on the Minecraft.net website, you just have to host it on your PC. It's not "custom" per say, but it is a start in that direction.
I would like to be able to participiate in something like foldingathome.org with my xbox device when i`m not playing.
Microsoft is even mentioned as contributor in this project, but there is no way as far as i know to be contributor with my xbox device.
I hope there is a way to introduce their windows or linux client to xbox system as optional package or something like that.

I was having the invalid format with streaming movies and games, have not had it happen since I got this cable Saturday.
Been using it for years, you get 2 packs with this one, mine came with 3 but i dont see it. But its great, you just plug and switch instantly and its cheap and reliable
I'd like to recommend this one:
ElecGear Lithium ion Battery Pack for Xbox Wireless Controller, 2x 1200mAh Li-ion Rechargeable Battery for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One Video Game Controller with 2x Play and Charge USB Cable https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B089241QWP/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_82WHXZ53SP5H8CYTR20V?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I used one by Oivo before that needed to be put in a dock to charge, but this one can be charged in the controller, just like a PlayStation controller. The battery charge has been great for me, never had an issue though some reviews have said they had issues. Been able to play for hours without an issue, but if it gets low just plug in a USB-C cable and keep going. They fit with the usual controller battery covers
Only downside was that they came with a couple of cables that seemed great in design - able to do both micro usb and usb-c - but I found they got worryingly hot to the touch. I chucked away those, but the batteries have been awesome.
I’d rather recommend you get this charge kit for your controllers instead. If my controller is dead, I just place it on the charge stand and swap to my 2nd controller that I leave charged.
>It's way more expensive like that. Just alone the 15$ 1month game pass is worth 50RON(romanian money) wich is like an american would spend 50$ for 1 month of benefits.
It's actually cheaper since $15 is the equivalent of about 65 RON. So may just change your region - if you have no active Game Pass subscription, may add up to 36 months of Gold via codes and upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate for $1. That's the cheapest way to get Game Pass.

Getting a UPS is essential if you have unreliable power. The one linked above is nice and has some great features, but it might be overkill imo. The power is shaky where I live too, and this is the UPS I use for my consoles:

Streaming apps are completely unavailable. This has been going on for the last 8 months. It's still not fixed. It also on't report the problem because it won't even go to the app report page.

The app gets stuck on the start screen, which is the Xbox logo.

The only way to fix this is to turn on your phone in airplane mode. The only way to fix this is to turn on the phone in airplane mode. All Taiwanese users have this problem. I don't understand at all the reason why it's still not fixed after 8 months.

When playing through Xcloud, the connection to servers goes directly to ip.
When the Xhome broadcast starts, the connection through the Teredo tunnel begins.
Tell me why it is not possible to start a broadcast with a connection directly to your xbox, why do I need to connect through the tunnel? If you can open the correct port on your home network, then maybe you don't need to connect through the tunnel?

Hey All,
Not sure if anyone else saw the news, but this was announced today.

Fast.com is a network speed test offered through Netflix which makes it relatively unfair network test since it testing your speed relative to Netflix servers. Netflix accounts for over 12% of all internet traffic across the whole world. That is a massive amount of data for any company to handle. To offset this Netflix typically offers a localized storage option with almost all ISPs to help reduce issues with loading videos. With their massive revenue stream and global demand they've been able to put services almost everywhere, meaning that this test is relatively ideal conditions.
By contrast the Xbox test is a test for your connection to Microsoft's servers and is realistic to the performance you will actually see with their services. Fast.com is good for Netflix, but not necessarily much more. Internet speed tests on the whole can be easily skewed, but you're more likely to see ping fluctuate than upload speed like this.
You taken the recommended steps so far of checking your DNS but you may need to experiment more to find which one is best for your connection. I recommend GRC's DNS Benchmarking tool to find which DNS Nameserver is actually best for your internet connection.
Not yet, the focus on xcloud is for mobile usage.
It's possible the Bluestacks Android engine could run the xcloud app but probably wont work, Bluestacks runs Android games on windows.

Your information is out of date. There is an app for windows and mac that allows you to connect your phone and run dex on your pc/laptop screen using your mouse and keyboard. https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/apps/samsung-dex/
Did a search on Australian Amazon for you This is similar to the VAX01202
You might try clearing the app cache and storage from the Android app settings or giving the Xbox Game Pass (Beta) app a try. If you continue to have trouble, please do file feedback from the settings.
Unfortunately the no-dongle direct connection kind of Xbox wireless headsets are prone to wifi interference. Especially if you're playing near your wireless router or in a busy wifi environment (like an apartment).
Lucid Sound acknowledges this and their newer headsets come with a dongle and use different channel than your wifi, like this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087DT2XXB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_QB96ZNFB06NT7KTE5PKQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I know you're probably not, but please tell me that's on satellite. It's BS to have that on a hardwired, cable connection). My household is 1,500 TB a month normally.
Check out NordVPN. I use it on my phone to bypass Verizon's tethering limit. Some routers (like Asus) can connect to OpenVPN servers so your entire household's internet hours through it. Could probably allow you to download whatever games you want without restriction.

he reason it does it is because its not a constantly powered port. Use a powered USB 3.0 hub, one that comes with a power adapter. I stopped having connection issues when I added devices (headphones and my other two hard drives) to my xbox series x and xbox one x. I got one off amazon, it also had individual power\off switches for each port. Here is the one I got Amazon.com: Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Lit Power Switches, Includes 5V/2.5A Power Adapter (HB-UMP3): Computers & Accessories
This on is lower than the one I had but has good reviews too. I kind of like it more cause of the kind of power adapter it comes with, fits better in my surge protector. Comes with an extra charging port though (for charging phone or controllers

OK, here is an idea; Being able to sync your phone (iPhone or Android) to your Xbox Console, so that when gaming you could see notifications from your device. I know there are external appliances i.e. a Notification Desk Light, however I feel it would be super beneficial for gamers to see a notification on screen.
It would have to be similar to Xbox notifications (Achievements, Friends, Messages) But it would show a Logo, maybe even the application icon, and say like "Message from ____," or "Snapchat from ____," or "Receiving a call from ____." I don't know if this is a feature already, and from what I have found it is not, but I feel it would be a VERY useful tool to gamers. Obviously there would have to be certain things such as being able to filter which notifications come through, and maybe even more customization of the notification itself. It would also be super cool if, saying you had a Mic or headset on, you could answer phone calls VIA your console if your phone was connected. I feel Bluetooth would be the easiest method, however Xbox could profit off of it too if they added like a Cell Phone Dock/Charging Base that connected via USB to the console. Obviously there is some play around the idea and it is just a base idea, but once again, could be VERY useful.
Thanks for taking the time to read my idea and letting me post such a long reply, it has been nice to test out and type on my new keyboard lol ☺☺
I bought this monitor because it looked like a good deal: 2021 AUZAI 27 Inch 2K 1ms 165Hz/144Hz Computer Monitor, WQHD 2560x1440p Frameless Screen, Support G-SYNC & FreeSync, Eye Care HDMI Display for Xbox PS4/5, Height/Pivot/Tilt Adjustable
I like it so far but I can only get 1080p at 120hz OR 1440p at 60hz on Xbox Series X. Does anyone have this monitor? I bought it specifically for 1440p at 120hz+ but can't get it to do both.
Purely false. I tried to access the app from Sweden, no problem. Both the regular and the beta versions are listed.
Could it be that your device is too old and therefore not supported? Try opening the following link in your browser, preferrably in incognito mode so you are not logged in:
In the same boat
Console: XBox Series X (On the latest release update, I backed out of Beta ring at the moment)
TV: LG 49UB8500-UA (updated to the latest firmware)

TV does not turn off when console turns off
Volume up and down doesn't work from console (I've a PDP remote which is officially licensed from Xbox https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GOK34SO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
I've tried resetting, restarting, full shutdown, unplugging (TV and console), different HDMI ports, different HDMI cables and nothing seems to work.
Any help is definitely appreciated.
I'm having a similar issue withy my Sony x900h (TV) and Sony HTZ9f (Soundbar). As long as my xbox is connected when the TV turns on, all sorts of CEC and ARC issues occur. It doesn't matter if CEC is enabled on the Series X or not, nor does it matter if it's plugged into the TV or soundbar.
I'm going to order this dongle and see if it helps. I suppose another option would be to bend pin13 on the HDMI cable, but I don't want to ruin the cable.
It does only come with two on the back and one on the front but I use a USB extender that gives me extra sockets.
The beauty of this extender is that if your Xbox doesn't allow you to turn off the hard drive for whatever reason (I can't explain why yours doesn't work, it's strange for sure) you have switches to turn it off for each individual USB switch.
Edit* yes, my console is set to instant on.
Edit 2* changed the link because for some reason it was redirecting to a deep fat fryer haha
I was researching a bunch if you also have this problem, it might work for you

The Project xCloud (Preview) for cloud gaming in Mexico is actually available in the Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) app rather than the Xbox Game Pass app. You can learn more in Getting Started and you can download the correct app here: Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) app on your Android device from Google Play.
I have tried using multiple inputs on both the receiver (Game, Video 1, Video 2, etc) and the LG tv (HDMI 1,2 (arc),3, and 4) and the problem still remains. I have tried using the specific input (video 2) that I use for the my Apple TV 4k for the Xbox.
I usually use 7.1 uncompressed audio output on the Xbox and Dolby surround sound field setting on my Sony receiver. I tried different audio outputs (5.1 uncompressed, dolby, dts, and atmos bitstream) on the Xbox and different sound field setting on the receiver ( 2 CH/Multi:Direct, 2 Channel Stereo, Front surround, Neural:X. None of the changes to either the receiver sound field settings or the Xbox audio outputs settings made any difference.
On my Apple TV, I use the Auto setting (Apple TV automatically uses the best audio format, including Dolby Atmos when available) and have no problems with watching/listening to content formatted in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
Is it worth investing in a new HDMI cable even though Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos both work simultaneously on my Apple TV 4k with the Amazon Basics HDMI cable? Any recommendations for HDMI cables that are guaranteed to work with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos? Also why would the Amazon Basics HDMI cable work for Apple tv and not the Xbox?
I'll link the Amazon Basics Cable below if you want to take a look at its specifications.

It sure if they’re able to offer this but sure I guess
FYI: Just plug the controller into the USB port on the Xbox one and it’ll never shut off.
If you don’t have a long enough cable I found some on Amazon that work fine Link: USB 3.0 Extension Cable 2m/6.5ft... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072M721QD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I actually fixed the issue by swapping my Amazon basics hdmi cable for the Belkin hdmi cable. Here’s a link to it on amazon,
Let me know if this fixes your problem like mine.
It's only available at Amazon within the next 2 weeks, I've been waiting for it to pop up on Microsoft Store so I could redeem Reward points for gift cards. Moga Mobile Gaming Clip for Xbox Wireless Controllers (Xbox One) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B081C7TLVS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_cr74Db2GPDCDZ
Nope you can download the app here : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.xboxone.smartglass.beta&hl=en
You have to download the Xbox beta app. Then when It is finished downloading open the app and on the top right you will find a Xbox symbol click on that and it will say something "remote something". Then you should be able to console stream. (BTW you might have to connect your Xbox to your phone again)

Here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.xboxone.smartglass.beta&hl=en
I play through the streaming app, not the game pass. Link:

The vpn must be connected in a supported country before opening the streaming app. Please UP my comment to go up.
Thanks
What I find funny is, they allow you to change your gamer pic through onedrive but not backgrounds. lol
You can still access file explorer when changing your gamer pic but can't use it to change your background. Maybe they're just moving the option to OneDrive.
You can use your phone (DLNAServer app android) or turning on media share on your pc, which is how I've done it since forever.
It's the Xbox Game Streaming app, you can stream your Xbox console to your phone or you can stream games from the cloud (Project xCloud). You need a device with Android 6.0+ and Bluetooth 4.0+.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.xcloud
You can register for Project xCloud here: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-game-streaming/project-xcloud/register
please merge these two apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gamepass
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gamepass.beta
the OG app contains the original microsoft rewards quests, the beta includes the new game pass style apps (at least for my account). also please release an awards app on the Windows store. now that Xbox is supposed to be one unified brand/ecosystem, it's about time we get access to the same rewards structure as console gamers
I assume you're trying to use Project x cloud? to stream? If so click this link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.xcloud&hl=en_US
download that..and you'll know if you're in when you sign in with your Xbox account pretty self explanatory after that.
I see a lot of people saying to download the APK on the fire TV but that can be a bit of a pain in the ass. I've always found just downloading apps from the play store and then using the apps to fire app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.koni.appstofiretv&hl=en) to be much easier.
*requires having an android phone and allowing debugging mode on your fire tv
Use SecurityKISS VPN and choose a US or UK server. After Streaming app connect, pull down notification bar and disconnect VPN. In this way you will remain connected. Dont switch app and dont minimize. It will refresh itself and it will disconnect you. I used that way until Microsoft made available in my region.
Can you clear this app for me? Specifically the Play Store won't allow it to appear in searches directly on this Hisense TV:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087F72TGB/
When I go to the web version of the store, it states that it's not compatible, but it more than meets the Android version and input requirements.
I've copied the APK directly to the TV and have installed it and it works fine. The main issues are that it won't auto update and that it installs as a system app, so it's a bit of a pain to launch it each time. Otherwise, I haven't experienced any crashes. It runs and works very well on this tv.
Worth every penny. I recommend looking at my review on Amazon so I don't have to retype it here.
TL:DR, even when (if?) Microsoft fixes 4K capture, I wouldn't have regretted buying it for the major increase in quality and not needing to use a Windows-formatted drive (I have a Mac, and getting my external drive to NTFS was a pain, and I had no way to format it once it inevitably filled up). Last I checked MicroCenter still had them in stock at MSRP.
I've always been pretty happy with stereo surround when wearing headphones, and I'm a bit wary of investing in audio tech after buying the hype of soundcards and EAX back in the 2000s, especially since codecs and standards were changing rapidly back then.
That said, I'm always open to new things. Can you tell me what I'm missing out on compared to, say, my PC360 or ATH-M50 headsets? Granted, they're a bit old at this point, so they may be due for replacement regardless. I'm just timid when it comes to marketing hype around virtual audio processing.
This might already be in the works. I preordered the LucidSound LS15X Wireless Gaming Ear Buds because they [at the time] were going to be the first truly wireless audio solution to directly pair with the Xbox. Sadly, they had to switch to a USB dongle: >Xbox Dongle
>To lower the weight of the product we are shifting to an Xbox Dongle solution vs the direct connect Xbox Wireless approach. However the headset will still be 100% wireless.
What this suggests to me is possible USB audio support.
That said, I would love if I could just plug in a BT 4.0+ adapter and pair any audio (or mouse, or KB) with my Xbox using universal drivers. It's kind of sad that my Xbox 360 had a better wireless headset experience than my X1X has.
On the LG make sure you just use HDMI 1, and enable the deep colour option. You must have done that already as it's the only way to get HDR from an external source.
I used to use Atmos with my XB1, but the XB1 implementation of Atmos isn't the best, and is buggy as hell, so stick with 7.1 uncompressed for the best stable sound.
Reading the reviews for the Amazon Basics cables there were people complaining about the quality control, how some cables were fine, yet some had HDCP / handshake issues. I was definitely seeing issues with mine, but only with the XB1X. If I used the same cable with PS4 Pro, even in 4K, it was ok.
Out of ideas, I bit the bullet and just bought a more expensive cable from Amazon;
(It wasn't that exact item, but the same brand & cable. Mine was a multi pack version which is no longer on sale.)
All I can say is that it fixed my issues. I use the XB1X HDMI lead that it came with to go from my XB1X to my AVR, and then the XO cable I linked to go from my AVR to my LG C7.
My Amazon Basics cables link my Switch and PS4 Pro to my AVR without any issues.
Rather than buy a new HDMI do you know someone who could loan you an official MS HDMI lead to replace the Amazon Basics one from the AVR to your LG?
This is what I use it works perfectly.

I purchased a Belkin Ultra HD High Speed HDMI Cable from Amazon yesterday. It's the cable that Apple recommends for their Apple TV 4k so its guaranteed to be able to play Dolby Vision content. It should arrive by tomorrow. I am going to use that cable as the one that connects the receiver to the tv.
