Yuumi is a very mechanically intensive champion and has a high skill cap.

I want more patches like the Gul'dan patch, where they touched nearly every hero and touched up their talents in slight ways. It keeps the game feeling fresh without overbearing changes.
Not nearly every talent tree needs a full rework. Small number changes can make a huge difference, too.
>We removed Qiyana's ability to jungle back when she was a dominant mid/jungle flex pick in Pro. Her standings in mid have gone down since then, so we're cautiously optimistic about reintroducing her to the jungle.
Remember the time when bots would dodge skill shots, retreat when they were in-danger, rotate properly and even gank; Blizzard was proud of that, even made a blog post regarding it?

Patch notes have all the info you need :)
Seriously, how does Hearthstone consistently have the worst patch notes? Just take a look at Overwatch o Heroes of the Storm, which have so much detail in their patch notes. HotS even rewrites their patch notes when they change other things between the PTR and live.
Meanwhile Hearthstone patch notes consistently don't put crucial information, or don't explain why changes were made.
Edit: I mean, just LOOK at today's HotS patch notes. https://heroesofthestorm.com/en-us/blog/21791354/heroes-of-the-storm-patch-notes-june-6-2018-2018-6-6/

To be fair though the art they're replacing is even more trash in most cases. Literally just screenshots of the old models drawn over with some photoshop thrown in.
The artwork isn't bad-bad , it just lacks Riot's art direction which makes it stand out like a sore thumb since it doesn't share the same style as the rest of the artwork.
You know what happens when you have no art direction whatsoever? HoN happens. Seriously, they can't even keep the style consistent between splash art of the same hero.
A month ago, you enabled Kharazim's Radiant Dash to dash to "all allied units", because he couldn't dash to some specific stuff like allied creep, toxic nests, medivac, rip tire, wisp, etc etc.
Is it intended for abilities that can target enemy summons, to be able to target all of the enemy summons? Because some, like Illidan's Dive, still have a lot of summons that they cannot target, like Creep Tumors, while other abilities like Kerrigan's Ravage can target anything with a healthbar

So my complaints are on how the ticket was advertised. The ticket was said to be obtainable from Chest or from pre-registering.
Directly from the news post, "No matter what methods you choose, finding a Golden Ticket will be a rare, special occurrence, so if you succeed, count yourself lucky and congratulations!"
By saying the Golden Ticket is available from Pre-registering, daily chest, and holiday-themed boxes, you're saying the Golden Ticket is a rare item ONLY from these in-game items. The item was advertised incorrectly and everyone who has spent money trying to get the ticket in the weeks past are out of luck.

>We’ve continued to monitor both the use rates and power levels of runes across the system and we think there are some good, targeted changes we can make to the system. Most obviously, we feel the Inspiration tree’s identity has been fairly unclear, and we’d like to broaden its keystone use cases. During Preseason you can expect:
>
>- Reworked Inspiration keystones
>
>- Secondary rune balance adjustments
Can confirm, it was horribly communicated.
It was tricky enough to figure out that the following happened:
Such stuff would’ve been perfect to refresh in the Heroic Deal forumposts, so that it’s not close to guesswork figuring it out.
Either way, sources for the above:
https://heroesofthestorm.com/en-us/game/events/echoes-of-alterac/
> Orphea's bundle is the first to force 3 mounts into the only bundle with her only skin.
You're wrong. Deckard had the exact same thing with his Wastewalker skin, and the Road Chariot - and potentially others as well. Deckard is the only one I remember, though.
Either way, the important thing is this: The Launch-bundles all change to Skin Packs a while after the Hero is released (~~pretty sure it's~~ 2 weeks, when the Hero drop from 15k to 10k Gold), removing both the Hero and potential Mounts from it. It's nothing new, at all.
The mounts aren't bundle-exclusive either, so you don't have to buy the bundle to get the new mounts - unless, of course, you'd want to buy them with Gems.
EDIT: Confirmed it's 2 weeks, as mentioned in the post made when Gem Only launch-skins were introduced with Alexstrasza, a year ago (2017-11-14). Heroic Bundle for the first two weeks, then converted to a Skin Pack.
> For example, this means that once the upcoming Alexstrasza Heroic Bundle is removed during the week of November 27, a “Dark Queen” Alexstrasza Skin Pack will enter the Collection. That Skin Pack will then remain available for purchase using gems indefinitely.
>These lush and deceptively peaceful gardens have grown over time, covering the once molten realm known as Dragon Spire. Beneath this verdant paradise, the ancient power of the dragons was sealed away... and their descendants have neither forgotten nor forgiven the trespasses of those who wronged them.
https://heroesofthestorm.com/en-us/battlegrounds/dragon-shire/
The existing lore states that the dragons are an ancient race, not humans cursed into dragon form, but rather ancient dragons bound into stone form.
Should we take this as a retcon, and disregard the previous lore, or is there some detail I've missed here? Is the race of dragons and their ancient power still cannon, and just this man happens to be cursed into a dragon as well?
edit: from fan's theorizing, it seems like Raena's husband always was and simply is a dragon. The curse is his stoneform, not the fact that he's a dragon. This would mean that she married a dragon! If so, I approve of this dragonkin romance ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

> "Monster" isn't one of the categories because that's more about aesthetic than anatomy. Aatrox and Renekton are examples of monstrous humanoids, whereas Yuumi is an example of a non-monstrous creature.

I think we should also plug the PC port that has an alpha build available for download right now. Aside from the expected early alpha bugs and hitches, it's the exact same game but with a bigger screen and (arguably) better controls. It even uses the same account, so I got to hop right back in with all the heroes I had unlocked years ago on my phone.

Didn't they say earlier that 10 Placement Games were becoming the exception rather than the rule? I was under the impression that, if you've been somewhat active in Ranked recently, you only need to play one placement game that yanks your Rank closer to your MMR in case they diverged towards the end of the previous season.
Edit: Found the source:
> Placement matches were primarily intended as a way for us to gain more information about your skill level in the absence of previous match history. However, the more games you play during a season, the less necessary it becomes to reassess you at the start of the next. Going forward, those who play enough ranked games during the current season will only need to complete as little as one placement match when the next season begins. After completing your placement, you will be placed based on your MMR at the end of the previous season.
About 3 months ago during their small wave of bans:
https://www.smitegame.com/news/developer-update-recent-actions-on-player-reports

> So, today, @HiRezTh3B4r0n was supposed to come on the stream to talk about how Smite is failing and what steps hirez is taking to remedy that.
>Instead, he gave me a lame excuse then blocked me.
>Then Hirez suspended me from Smite for 3 days for "match griefing."
>#StopBuyingGems
Edit: To be honest, the white knight replies to his tweet are almost worse.
>Players will no longer enter an infinite rejoin loop if both Cores are destroyed simultaneously, and victory will be assigned to one team at random.
Your response would be perfect if you weren't so contradicted by the advertising for the event. Hirez's website says that players will compete for a 1,000,000 prize pool, when in fact they will compete for a fraction of that. So you are trying to have it both ways: you want to get people excited about SWC by saying players are competing for 1,000,000, and you want to save money on tournament prize pools. It's fine if you have a logic for choosing the latter option, just don't try to have both of those mutually-exclusive things by being deceptive in your advertising of the event.

To be clear on the shop changes (if you only read the title), you are still restricted to 3 upgrade slots per ability etc, however you don't need to choose what they will be before the map starts.
Here's a picture for reference:
http://i.imgur.com/BMELOFx.png
Bonus: Here's a more visual preview of some of up coming content (more be announced apparently):
I'm a little confused regarding the future availability of the Bob Ross items. I assumed based on how it was advertised that it was Limited, but in-game the Sylvanus skin is Exclusive, but the other items (Loading Frame, Loading Screen and Jump Stamp) are Limited. However, on the website all 4 items are labeled as Exclusive. If the bundle is Limited time only (and the Sylvanus skin will come back in chests in the future), there's no date indicated anywhere as to when the bundle expires. If someone from HiRez could provide some clarity it would be appreciated.
Her damage is my biggest concern. I like the general focus of her kit, but she's basically a non-entity in combat right now when it comes to damage. 236 DPS for her AAs at Lvl 20 places her somewhat in the middle of the pack for Warriors, but her abilities do little-to-no damage themselves, which is bad considering they each have a windup time. It's a shame too because she's got a really cool kit overall, and if she could output more threat on her own then I could easily see her in the main tank role.
Also, while a minor point, one thing I think you may have overlooked is that Aegis of Light has potential as a tool for protecting fleeing allies, or for pulling back to defend the back line from dive. You're right that it makes little sense as an engage since the tank should be first in the fray, but it may work fairly well as an anti-dive tool. Someone like Genji jumps on your back line, you jump back into your team and give them all armor in the process. Similarly, Gift of the Naaru would make a decent burst heal on a back line target that got dived on by the enemy team. Admittedly it's maybe not the best use of such a thing because it's still antithetical to the sort of play style you want from your main tank, but it's a possible explanation for what they were thinking there.
But yeah, I was on board with the idea of her kit, but she just doesn't generate enough of a threat IMO.
EDIT: And sure enough....orange text to buff her damage. Though possibly not enough.
Edit: Megathread here
> My guess is that the calibration system just doesn't really have a standard of measurement to identify 7k+ players, as there's so few of them they don't want to completely mess up the MMR distribution by mistakenly putting people at extremely high MMRs.
In order to fit the old to the new MMR you have to compress the current MMR values. The new system has 7 tiers of 1000 rating each. The maximum rating you can get through calibration should be 6999.
Of course you can get more rating beyond 6999, but not through calibration.
I remember in HoN there was also a rank compression between seasons at one point. I googled and found this on one their season 5 update page:
> Compression
>Another bump in the road that we ran into during Season 4 was the magnitude of the rank compression that was applied between seasons. We noticed that the compression hit players harder than we had intended.
Sky Temple
>Developer Comment: We love the gameplay around bushes, but feel some maps--and in particular certain lane transitions--have too many bushes for players to negotiate. We are starting to cull some bushes starting with Sky Temple. While this change is small, we are happy with its impact on the map in our internal testing and want to see how this impacts the game as we look to make similar adjustments.

I think Aphelios had a lot of issues and to isolate any single one is unfair.
Yes, his ult was an issue, and his one shot potential was by far the most problematic part of his kit on release. There was also the issue of his infinite range on Calibrum + Crescendum turret.
Despite that, there were plenty of things that people complained about even after the Infernum ratio was nerfed that weren't ratio based, but instead clarity based. A big one at the time was the need to read what Aphelios did as a champ to play against him, i.e. learning the various parts of his kits and spells he could change between at will. Another was the lack of clarity on what his secondary weapon was, when nearly every ability would synergize with it.
In short, I think that being overtuned was a problem, but not the only one; visual clarity changes were something that Aphelios needed, and Riot said as much in the 10.4 patch notes when they showed his secondary weapon and adjusted his ult's visibility.
> Aphelios is the galaxy brain marksman whose kit has a billion things you have to learn, but he's stressing out opponents who can't understand what he's doing and seems to be lacking adequate counter play at higher ranked games. Better clarity will lead to a drop in Aphelios' performance since opponents will more frequently make correct decisions, but we also threw some raw nerfs with a focus on making sure opponents have successful ways to catch him and beat him up.

There was a lot of talk about the rework to QM mentioned from Blizzcon. The roles are intended to shuffle around, teams are guaranteed to have a tank, healer, ranged damage, and roles that are in hot demand will receive bonus XP for their player level.
Call of the Nexus (to my understanding) is these changes. However, I could be wrong. CotN could be limited to only the bonus XP, which isn't as exciting. I was hoping someone could confirm this.
Edit: I went for another look. Bad news. It's only the XP bonus according to the PTR notes.
There's still hope that forced composition is here too, but I have my doubts.

You can see the previous update, and a history of the past few updates here. In my opinion, the latest patch was rather underwhelming in new content/features but I guess that shows how much effort they put into all of their other updates.
Ronimo also has plans to release a new map, new character, and a level editor! Although I doubt that they will stop there.
The support for this game has been really good.
Yeah, starting with Alexstrasza, all the skins that release with a hero will be gem only. We've seen junglers have a bit more control over games, in large part due to their increased purchasing power early game turning into combatstats, which then accelerates their experience and gold growth. We’repulling back on their experience and income a bit to compensate. As aresult of these changes, we’re holding off on nerfing some borderline OP jungle champions until we see how these changes shake out.
There are some op junglers what do we do?
A) Nerf those junglers
B) Nerf whole jungle exp to nerf those OP champs
they opted for B so i guess that OP junglers become OK junglers and OK junglers becomes USELESS junglers xD
(ok they also say that in general junglers get more exp than other lanes but if there are two problems why they solve only one?)

I actually don’t think the bar system is working properly either.
Medivh has an 8/10 scale on the complexity and he’s considered Very Hard, so is Abathur at a 9/10. So 8+ seems to be “Very Hard” Heroes. Or so you’d think. But yet Illidan 8/10, same as Medivh, and is a Medium difficult hero.
Kel’Thuzad is a 7/10 and is a “Hard” hero. So 7 and less you’d think are Hard heroes. But the other Kt, Kael’thas, a great hero overall, but way easier to play than Kel’Thuzad is also 7/10. Sure he’s also considered a “Hard” Hero in HotS but he’s much easier to play.
So in “bar metrics”, unless they change Whitemane’s complexity down, is a “very hard hero” same as Medivh. 8/10.

Right now the leaderboards is just a lifetime rating for each player. While this is decent for ranking each player against everyone else, it makes for a pretty boring progression, and it makes maintaining your rank just a grind that discourages diversification instead of fun. We could use an overhaul that allows us to have seasons and season resets again.
Was a limited edition skin in 2015, patch 1.13 and an Ice only (1499 I believe) purchase for 40 (or so) days only.
https://www.vainglorygame.com/news/reim-update-1-13-notes-winter-chills/
The only of the original limited edition skins I spend money on and now have. (Oh and then there is that funny, garish Rona limited edition skin which everybody got for playing one game per day a month long or something like that - funnily enough just a little while later the first number of “active players” was released 😉 )
They then brought back recoloured limited edition skins as “special edition” releases, to monetise the designs.
Actually, they wanted to bring back the original colours initially, which resulted in one of the biggest community shitstorm ever, as the LE skins were advertised as “limited time only and never again”.
Sure, I will correct you. I am not citing accounts. I am citing active community, which Hi-Rez has said to be around 3 million. If I were citing accounts, I would have said 20 million, not 3 million, because Hi-Rez has surpassed 20 million accounts and is well past 3 million (remember the 20 million celebration?):
https://www.smitegame.com/20-million-player-celebration/
Hi-Rez has claimed on various employee's Linked In accounts and through other outlets that Smite's active audience is about 3 million people:
HotS was also my first moba and learnt relatively quickly. And yes, it is very friendly compared to LoL or Dota2.
I think learning what every hero could do was the toughest part. Knowing which talents to pick was also rather difficult for me, but just followed some guides on the internet. Once you get enough experience from the game you can start making your own builds or copying them from good players.
My advice: tell your team you're a new player and that you're willing to learn. Ask them what you should be doing, where to be on the map, etc. This way you will learn much faster and with time you'll start making the right decisions on your own. If they're toxic, just mute them or the chat and report them. Also, if you have another friend that plays HotS he can help you a lot. Try to make friends in game, and play with them in a party. This way you'll get bonux XP with heroes (which will give you faster gold to buy heroes or other stuff) while they can also teach you the basics of the game.
And finally, if you want to jump into HotS, you should do this first. This way you get two heroes and a Stimpack (it boosts both XP and gold earned after every game).
Sorta.
What they specifically cited was not Yuumi in comparison to other supports, but in comparison to the following champions:
Akali
Qiyana
Neeko
Nunu & Willump
Mordekaiser
Of these champions, Yuumi's Delta (more specifically, winrate per # of games) was comparable to Akali, or Qiyana, as opposed to Neeko (Starts higher winrate, peaks sooner), Nunu (Peaks faster), or Mordekaiser (Starts higher, peaks higher sooner).
Unfortunately, they never actually compared her to another support champion, just 2 assassins, a mage, a tank, and a bruiser.
The same article said that Yuumi is difficult because "The things many players have associated with playing League well aren’t being tested on her—like positioning and moment-to-moment dodging—but new things are," and listed the following examples:
Identifying when it’s safe to hop out and use her passive in chaotic teamfights
Identifying who you should attach to because you can’t support more than one person at a time.
Weaving Q around targets that aren’t who you’re trying to hit (which is, quote "a more simple but still unique skill test."
Managing vision control while being the slowest and squishiest champion in the game.
Which are... frankly weird conclusions to draw, when the arguments focus on there being a tradeoff for being invulnerable, and suggest that the following are unique to Yuumi:
Know when to auto without dying
Knowing who's carrying you hardest

"2017 is going to be huge! We have a ton of Big Things (tm) in development for 2017. We're not talking about that yet, but we expect 2017 is going to be the biggest year for Awesomenauts yet!"
From the patchnotes
>NEW Rejoin improvement -When rejoining a match the player will be forced to play with the same naut, loadout, bought items and amount of Solar. Plus a small Solar bonus depending on how long it took to get back in the game.

Meh.
Heroes I'd rather see new skins for: Baptiste, Ozo, Ringo, Glaive, Flicker, Baron, Idris, and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SEMC, finish the Dynasties Blackfeather series (and yes, the original announcement does refer to it as a series).
Worse yet, on the website for the current weekend event, it calls the Old Wa skin "Limited." The skin is exclusive, limited, and normal all the the same time lol
Rich has secured GM No. 1 in Asia last week and he has recently reached 20K points with just 124 wins and I can't really think of anyone who has a winrate (76.5%) close to his.
His high-risk plays really thrives when paired up with trustworthy teammates, but I think his success has to do with something more than that. If you ask me, Korean HL is full of randomness and ~~craps~~ just like any other region.
Yuumi is a very mechanically intensive champion and has a high skill cap.

forgot to check out and post this.
The new event site looks fantastic :)
For comparison to last year's: https://heroesofthestorm.com/en-us/game/events/lunar-festival-2018/
We actually got more stuff this year. I'm actually surprised.
It's part of the MM changes they have been working on. How soon it will be until it is live is hard to say though.
> Non-Participation and Intentionally Dying
> Going AFK during a match, leaving matches early, and dying intentionally are all behaviors that harm the game and compromise a match. We’ve been working on ways to address these behaviors while limiting the negative impact they have on others. As part of this endeavor, we’re deep into development of a loss forgiveness feature, which will mitigate ranked point deductions for players who lose a game due another’s failure to participate. The leaver will be penalized for the loss and repeated offenses will result in harsher penalties. The system will initially only forgive losses caused by leavers, but we plan to expand it to include AFK players and intentional dying in the future.
The armored versions get added next week when Alterac launches, you can find pictures here: http://www.wowhead.com/news=284753/heroes-of-the-storm-echoes-of-alterac-event-yrel-and-alterac-valley
They are also mentioned in the patch notes: https://heroesofthestorm.com/en-us/blog/21849060/heroes-of-the-storm-patch-notes-june-12-2018-2018-6-12/
The following new Mounts will enter the Nexus during the week of June 19:
These, I assume, will be buy-able with shards.

Her curve is similar to Akali and Qiyana.
She's however like that for different reasons than those two, which is playstyle(And I suppose some other things, but mostly playstyle).
This is being fixed in the beta. Essentially, a person who leaves a game and rejoins will be forced to pick the same character and loadout. Full explanation can be found here: http://www.awesomenauts.com/Vault/
Just copy all of Wretched Hag's (hon qop port) abilities: http://www.heroesofnewerth.com/heroes/view/104#hero.
The current level of shadow strike effect as default on her ulti. Better attack animation too.
Currently my only success with qop has been in the offlane with shadow strike at lvl 2/3 and constantly spamming it to get some proper harass going. I don't bother with her ulti till lvl11 though.
Edit: ty to /u/Eikill below
Edit 2: another thing, I believe dota2 applies DoT spells per second as opposed to HoN's constant application. Is this common for all dot abilities? Part of the reason Hag is so much stronger is slow and disables are much stronger in HoN.
For those who are intersted in the sketch of the current season again:

This is a perfectly valid question and one that has been asked before and I didn't really have a good answer.
Thanks to you I literally just discovered that the rules of the event under which the original creator submitted Janitor Leoric grant Blizzard license to do whatever they want with it.
From the event page (https://heroesofthestorm.com/zh-tw/blog/20131414/):
(Google Translate): "Given that Blizzard has provided you with the opportunity to participate in the player's painting project, you hereby grant Blizzard and event organizers a non-exclusive, global, royalty-free, permanent license for commercial or other development and utilization. The artwork submitted by you to Blizzard and the artwork/illustration created by Blizzard Property. These developments and uses are for commercial purposes, can be contained in all media, in whole or in part, whether or not the character or form is distorted, including but It is not limited to its website, but it can also be used for internal, commercial and advertising purposes."
It would seem that Blizzard already has all the license they need to create and profit from Janitor Leoric.
Here is a link to the changes they are making to the ranked system in the coming season: https://heroesofthestorm.com/en-us/blog/21771817/ranked-play-enhancements-coming-with-2018-season-3-2018-5-11/

> These Gods will be unlocked for all players starting in Update 5.8.
> Kukulkan
> Nemesis
> Bellona
> Ares
> Artemis
HoN has a 1 lane map too, but i think it's far superior to LoL's as it actually has a jungle and interesting routes aorund it which are more similar to the actual map.
I would love a similar dota map
> Blizzard didn't tell us this when it was implemented.
It was just there in patchnotes. There are a lot of problem because people can't just sit and read carefully.
> Diamond, Master, and Grand Master Hero League players who have placed in the current season but haven’t completed any games in a while will be considered “inactive”.
Don't know how long "for ages" is for you.
Also note the general Stealth changes in patch notes from 2017-12-12. It's no longer an "eye exam" to see who can spot the shimmer. Stealth is more visible but still untargetable unless you hit the stealth hero with a skillshot.
The most noteworthy things are that her stun was cut in half (release: 1.5s, current: 0.75s) but now has a 2.0s blind afterward while her silence is actually longer (release: 2.0s, current: 2.25s).
Also, being in "deep shadows" (Vanished for 3s or more) all her from stealth abilities have 5 range and teleport her behind the target (the way the old [[Death From Above]] used to work).
She was more powerful in non-draft modes (and arguably still is, though not to the degree of Cho'Gall) because half of dealing with a niche hero is counter-drafting them.
If you can silence or stun key opponents (a blinded Tracer is useless, and a silenced Diablo can't throw people around) without getting yourself killed you can have an impact. But in order to do that you're also tied up by cooldowns on Vanish, the ability in question, and possibly the 3s "deep shadows" rule (if you want the 5 range teleport).
Balance patches are always the 2nd Wednesday after a Hero release, so it should be tomorrow.
Not sure about Tracer deal. If there is, it probably involves a shop update which happens later today in the afternoon (at least for NA to my knowledge).
Ranked changes are coming as indicated in these patch notes: https://heroesofthestorm.com/en-us/blog/21771817/ranked-play-enhancements-coming-with-2018-season-3-2018-5-11/
Here is the source, the assasin item kinda sounds ridiculous

> We knew that Graves would be a great fit in the Space Pirate trait, but we didn’t have a skin that fit the thematic. We did, however have the vintage Jailbreak Graves model which we were able to make adjustments in order to bring him to life as the final member of the Space Pirate crew.
It was just the old model with some tweaks.
Funny post, but I’m seeing a lot of comments that mistakenly think the lore explanation for Golden Aegis is magic. If we look at Jarvan IV’s page on the LoL website, the description of his ability, Golden Aegis, makes no reference to magic.
“Jarvan IV calls upon the ancient kings of Demacia to shield him from harm and slow surrounding enemies.”
Side note, I think it’s neat how they translated those effects into LoR :)
Anyway, it seems clear that the source of power for this card is ancestral spirits, not magic.
Hey! We put together a page for new players to help you get started and feel less overwhelmed:
