It will be, likely alpha or beta release soonish™. See the section titled: Arm support? Ohh ARM support! on the most recent blog post. It links to the twitch clip with a little more info
Answer of Shadow:
Thank you for your message!
Unfortunately at this time it is not possible to have raytracing option on your Shadow.
We will announce more details about hardware upgrades later this year. This includes upgrades to the Shadow base offer, as well as hardware you will be able to power-up with via your customer account.
As of May 20, 2021, we are sad to say that the Shadow Ultra and Infinite have been shelved as we focus on our new offering "Shadow".
If you have any other questions, feel free to go to this link: https://shadow.tech/blog/teamshadow/introducing-our-new-offer. You may find more answers here.
Thank you for your understanding and please let us know if you have any other questions.
Kind regards
Mysterio
Yes, you are charged before activation on a preorder basis... That's how preorders work.. You are told the estimated activation time before you pay anything. You are not charged anymore until 1 month after activation. For the money problem that is for your own judgment, but Shadow promises to deliver upgrades free of charge over the lifetime of the service. For the rest, you are free to read the ToS of Shadow. And if it doesn't make sense for you, you are free to move on from this service and not bother with it, nobody is holding you here.
Or just go to https://ninite.com/ and select your favourite browser, steam and other tools you like. Maybe playnite to have all your games in a single launcher (still need to have a the game launchers installed :( ) I like to use that when I am using a controller
> If your getting constant lag and irregular res ect 9/10 its something your doing wrong. I have a 36mb local connection and Im on ethernet and I get no lag or no blurryness.
Can we please stop replying to people having issues with "It works for me, so it's obviously a problem on your end." Yes, it might be a problem with their connection or PC, but it might also be a problem with the specific Shadow datacenter that they connect to (I remember there were several people connecting to the California datacenter who were all having the same or similar issues at one point while everyone else was fine) or it might be some programming error that makes Shadow work fine on your PC configuration but not theirs. It's fine to let people know that you aren't having an issue so they can use that information to help rule out what's going wrong, but to say that means it must be their fault is just rude and insulting.
> If your using Wifi and no ethernet, shadow on website even tell you that its not recommended using wifi and you will not get the best service possible so that's not on them.
That's not even true. From the website:
> For a great streaming experience with Shadow, all you need is a stable internet connection and a device capable of playing HD videos.
>Shadow works with all types of connections, from Fiber to DSL and even 4G LTE.
> Wired connections through Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi routers provides the best experience.

Use the internet speed test on Shadow's website. Choose your state and start the test. The location of the data center will show right underneath the graph.
Total BS: You are literally downgrading US-based shadow ultra folks now to boost because you are shutting down US-based data centers as a part of your "reorganization"... in complete contradiction to your news post "Your Shadow subscription will remain fully functional, as usual. There are no impacts on the service." Source: https://shadow.tech/blog/news/a-new-beginning-in-sight-for-shadow
Your product is apparently nothing but snake oil now. I wouldn't count on retaining any good reputation with moves like this. Time to go back to building our own PC's since we clearly can't trust cloud service providers to provide their service...
I'll agree that the sub doesn't necessarily reflect Shadow's entire userbase, but it's the only indicator that we have to go on.
Numerous people have already pointed out how you could buy a 3060 laptop that would give you an RTX GPU with performance on par with a 1080 that has no raytracing, plus a WAAAAAYYYY better CPU, plus it's local and you don't need to be concerned with connection issues, queue times, or bugs, and all for the same price or better that you get with Shadow.
Literally you can get the CPU that Shadow gives you access to for $149 + free shipping right now on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-E5-2678-SR20Z-12-Core-Processor/dp/B08ML78C82
And keep in mind that Shadow is giving you only 1/3 of that CPU, so 4 cores, not all 12 like you would get if you actually owned it. In 5 months your base subscription price will have paid off a CPU that you and 2 others share whenever you're connected lmfao. Talk about being a sucker
Just use "Autohotkey" on your Shadow.
- Install Autohotkey.
- Create a new text document, such as "tilde.ahk".
- Use the context here: https://autohotkey.com/docs/misc/Remap.htm
- Example:
> Numpad0::`
Save the file and just double click it. It will be a tray icon from now on and will rebind Numpad0 to ` key.
> Distance from what
Distance from the shadow datacentres. The closet shadow datacentre would be the Paris, France datacentre for you. Go here, select France and run a speedtest. https://shadow.tech/en-gb/requirements/internet-speed-test
You want the ping to be no more than 30 for an ideal experience.
https://shadow.tech/terms-of-use
>Blade shall inform the User if it wishes to change the price of the Services, by giving a reasonable period of notice before the date the change takes effect. In the case of price increases, Users will therefore be required to agree to the new price conditions if they intend to continue their subscription contract after the date the new conditions take effect. They can do so via the pop-up containing a description of the new conditions and which appears the first time the User connects after Blade has adopted the new price conditions, if applicable, or through any other means Blade chose to inform the User. If the User has not agreed to the new price conditions by the date they take effect, Blade may, at its sole discretion, (a) cancel the subscription at the end of the current Subscription Period on the date the new conditions take effect, (b) keep on providing the Services at the same price, or (c) transition the User subscription to the plan which is most similar to the User then-current subscription.
Realistically they'll likely give people the option to cancel if on the one year plan.
If they don't then in the USA you could dispute it with your credit card company and almost certainly win.
Likely worst case you could change the payment information to a prepaid card with $5 on it.
Absolute worst case call your credit card company and report your card stolen and they should change the number to where recurring transactions won't go through.

There you go
Actually, experience from turkey might be bad, friend of mine is german with family in turkey and uses his shadow when he visits them. He doesn't recommend tho, the delay can be awful.
Always remember data center for germany isn't actually in germany but in amsterdam (usually) which is even further away.
You can test your connection to the shadow servers here: https://shadow.tech/requirements/internet-speed-test/
Also I believe the only rally supported VR is the Quest and Quest 2.
Yes, you can, just signup for Privacy.com and link your bank (or card) and create a card, then go to the signup page for shadow and create a new account with a random Chicago address (lookup random address generator) and use your Privacy card with the same zip code as the random address and it will work. That is how I got my Dallas and Chicago accounts but live in SC.
Sadly he‘s right, it‘s in there:
Paragraph „Servers“
> The User further acknowledge and agrees that, to ensure optimal allocation of its IT resources, Shadow® uses a remote computer > automatic shut down and/or standby mechanism. In this respect, given that the User is warned in advance before Shadow® is shut down > or put on standby, Blade shall not be held liable for the resulting loss of data.
Also should be mentioned the Paragraph „Code of Conduct“: > The User is also prohibited from misusing the Services, or helping a third party to do so. In particular, but without limiting the foregoing, when using the Services, the User is prohibited from: ... > hampering or attempting to hamper, in any way whatsoever, the proper functioning of the Services, and in particular, disabling, altering, infringing or circumventing, or attempting to disable, alter, or circumvent, in any form whatsoever, any device or feature of the Services, in particular any security or authentication feature, access restriction, storage limit, or any standby or shut down mechanism, or providing Blade with false or inaccurate information, or accessing, modifying or using non-public areas of the Services or common areas of the Services which you are asked not to access; ...

okay "Real gamer" Lmao
So you have an amazing IPS, amazing router and all the settings are set right and still getting lag? Unless you are accessing Shadow from the moon you should be buzzing with your setup.
Now if you tell me you are also located close to a Shadow data center and still getting lag then I'd leave it to the rest of the community to help you uncover this great mystery. Jesus!
Shadow works for me and many others, writing an angry reddit post won't help you much but this might https://shadow.tech/int/faq
Update 1: I am seriously beginning to doubt the qualifications of the helpdesk.
I report a problem where on the shadow the CPU hits 100% and locks up completely regularly, and the questions i get are about my internet connection, and the advice to try their beta app to connect...

Am i using the same shadow.tech as everyone else? Because this service and the support come across as not so very good....
Alright,
Iirc you need the driver on Shadow and the other app on your local PC Hamachi on both ofc and setup a network (assuming you know how to get that working) and just join, now you should see Shadow in the spacedesk program on your local PC, just click it (check and mess with settings first) and done. Surprisingly easy, it ain't the most smoothest or best solution, but it is the best we can get as of now, hope it works for you!
Haha ;)
It's a free VPN system. It's actually really impressive and largely configures itself, but there's no sleek UI and it has a lot of options for network administrators. It can look intimidating but the basic usage (which is what you need) is simple.
I've actually added my other devices to it, up to 100 devices are free. This allows me to share files / and connect to my machines wherever I am.
I've not used VirtualHere so I'm not 100% sure how that part works.
Literally you can buy Shadow's 7-year-old obsolete CPU for $149 + free shipping right now on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-E5-2678-SR20Z-12-Core-Processor/dp/B08ML78C82
And you would get all 12 cores if you did, instead of just the 1/3 slice of 4 you get with Boost. In 5 months of just the base subscription (assuming you play like 2 modern games and don't need extra storage 😂) you will have paid off the entire CPU for Shadow on your own. Never mind the other 2 subscribers you've been sharing the other 2/3 of the CPU with. What a deal!
Congrats on the new rig! You've made the right choice. Happy gaming!
That's not what was said at all, you simply twisted it that way. You were trying to make the argument that Shadow was worth it because you can't afford to drop $1000+ on a PC, and my point was that just because you can't afford to drop that amount of money in 1 go does not mean that Shadow is worth the price for what you're getting. Your argument is like saying you can't afford a $60,000 Mercedes whose market value is $60,000, so instead you went and bought a Toyota Corolla for $10,000 when it's worth only $5,000. Just because you couldn't afford the $60,000 car that's actually worth $60,000 fair market value does not mean you didn't get ripped off paying $5,000 over fair market value for the cheaper option. Get my drift? Shadow with the price change may still be the more "financially feasible" option up front, but it's a lesser value than you would get vs just buying a modern comparable PC outright. Simply put, Shadow is no longer worth it, so if you buy into it then you're getting ripped off just plain and simple. The CPU is $149 and available on Amazon right now with free shipping ffs: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-E5-2678-SR20Z-12-Core-Processor/dp/B08ML78C82
How are you going to argue that Shadow is worth it when it gives you access to ONLY 1/3 of a 7-year-old CPU that costs $149? Lmao at least for $149 you can get all 12 cores to yourself. For $30/month base price you get only 4 cores and the other 8 cores get shared with 2 other users. In 5 months you will have paid off the CPU for them on your own, never mind the other 2 guys you're sharing the CPU with. What a joke
Compared to Shadow's 7-year old $149 ripoff CPU it is, 100%: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-E5-2678-SR20Z-12-Core-Processor/dp/B08ML78C82
Also if you actually bought it for the $149 on Amazon you would get all 12 cores. Shadow only gives you 1/3 of it, so 4 cores. The other 8 cores are shared with 2 other users. In 5 months you will have paid off the cost of the entire CPU on your own, never mind the other 2 users 😂
Nice ! For your cable solution, I might suggest a type c dock with a longer 90° cable. I got myself this one for on the go:
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B081YGDBG7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_JQG614EJ3H7SR8FZ91M1
You could replace the cable on this one with something that fits your needs.
Also you might want to consider getting an dedicated audio interface and then you have a one cable setup :D
Yes, it’s true. It actually helps, sometimes even on the same country you are - United Kingdom -> United Kingdom. Usually, the best providers to work with is NordVPN, ExpressVPN or the one you are using SurfShark.

Why are we introducing a new offer?
Over the years, we thrived in many ways - but being at the forefront of this computing revolution also comes with its unknowns and challenges.
We found ourselves financially exposed with an unsustainable business model. Large operating costs and investments were not well aligned to our price point, inevitably dragging the company down to a cash strapped halt.
With the risk of Shadow ceasing to exist, hubiC’s takeover of Blade breathed a new life into the company. This new chapter gives us the privilege to start on new, sturdy financial grounds, so we can continue to provide you with the best damn cloud computing service out there.
But in order to do so, and ensure you can use Shadow for years to come, we are introducing a new offer, with an adjusted price plan, that will pave the way for Shadow to reach profitability.
With this new change, you can expect Shadow to progress and evolve much faster. This is our commitment to a healthy, long term future that will accelerate all sides of our business.
https://shadow.tech/en-gb/blog/teamshadow/shadow-is-evolving
No way to tell if a cheaper plan will be available in the future, but we would be talking a few years away if anything.
https://shadow.tech/en-gb/blog/teamshadow/shadow-is-evolving
Hubic did, the owner of that is CEO of OVH. The terms aren't with OVH though.

"The future of Shadow is centralized around our new base offer, called Shadow. You will be able to power up its performance and purchase add-ons (like additional storage) within your customer account.

Due to the current company situation new orders have been estimated a few months longer than usual. However, it's just an estimation.. It could be a lot shorter, depending on what happens in the coming months.

Activation times depend on region. Other regions have shorter waiting times, while others are experiencing higher demand and/or less supply which increases the waiting time.
Update as of 15th April as follows:
The beginning of a new chapter is in sight - with just about two weeks (yes, really two weeks) to go.

[WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW]
Earlier this week, the two companies bidding to take over Shadow presented their cases to the French administrative judge. The court will now review all available materials and make its final decision on April 30, 2021.

The good great news:
both companies submitted very strong bids, and we can safely say both bidders are committed to continue and grow the business.

Once the buyer has been chosen, we will work with them closely to announce our joint vision of the future of Shadow, and will get cracking on making the service the best damn thing you’ve ever experienced.

It’s been a long and hard road, but regardless of the outcome, it’s made one thing clearer than ever:
We are grateful to have a community as magnificent as you, and couldn’t be more fortunate to enter this next chapter with you by our side.
Due to the current company situation new orders are to be a significantly longer wait than they were before, this wait time is indicated before ordering.. However, it's just an estimation.. It could be a lot shorter, depending on what happens in the coming months.

What kind of network is it? There isn’t any chance one iPad is connecting at 2.4 and the other is connecting at 5, is there? Are you able to replicate a connection difference if you use Shadow’s test (do you see a ping or loss or other difference here: https://shadow.tech/requirements/internet-speed-test/ )?
That's literraly write in the Terms of use. That's prohibited.
https://shadow.tech/terms-of-use
But if you are EU and especially in France ( go leboncoin) if you are USA I'm pretty sur you can find one on craiglist or some other webiste.
You can technically order from an unsupported country if you use an address from one of the official countries. Currently, Chicago or Texas have the fastest activations (end of next month).
The yearly plan is charged monthy, but you are locked in. Monthy plan is more expensive, but you can leave whenever.
You say lag is not a concern, but considering how far away you are from any of the servers, especially in the US, the lag will most likely make it impossible to even use the web. You could try looking into the new servers in Korea as those are probably closer and would give you better results than the US ones. Here's a link to test your connection: https://shadow.tech/requirements
I don't know about using a VPN on the client, but I know you can't install one on Shadow.
Bandwidth usually just refers to the download speed of your internet as upload speed is mainly irrelevant for Shadow (unless you plan to use a webcam or something).
Here's a link to test your connection to Shadow: https://shadow.tech/requirements/internet-speed-test/
What it most likely looks like.
Hi!!!! This was such a major problem for me! I had the same problem as you! I solved this using Privacy! https://privacy.com/join/UBPTJ
There you are if you have any questions DM me I'd be happy to help!
Parsec.app ftw, been using it to game when out of the house for the past few months (while my shadow was on preorder)
Works very good, full benefit of RDP minus the downsides for gaming (mostly)
Keep in mind that hungary is not a by shadow supported country. You can try changing your country settings of your google account / icloud/apple account. There are also free VPN clients available if you need that. I believe ProtonVPN has a 14 days trial.. that's the only "free" service I know.
As you have presumed, these are two completely separate things. Long story short, with NordVPN it is actually you who violates the EULA, not them, since they just provide the service. I think I haven't made it clear when I was explaining the Shadow issue though, sorry. Basically when you use your Shadow PC, what you're doing is actually watching a video streamed to you from the server and separately uploading commands you send with your mouse and keyboard. So, you watching Netflix via Shadow would equal you watching it on somebody's stream on Twitch. To fight redistribution of their property, Netflix basically renders your screen black when you try to share your screen while watching (you can test it locally, just make a zoom call and try sharing the Netflix screen, it happens for the most people). Shadow in turn detects this measure from Netflix and just notifies you about that.
Thanks for the useful information. So, what about NordVPN not being unable to work for streaming Netflix off of like most other VPNs, allowing me to watch Netflix from any country. My question is, if that's against the Netflix EULA, then Shadow shouldn't be in any more trouble than NordVPN (/almost/, as in the precedent NordVPN had Netflix set, making it apparent that Netflix won't do anything). Or are those two separate things (as in, two different legal issues with NordVPN not breaking any EULA regulations, which I honestly don't know if NordVPN is)?
Anyway, as someone else said I could always watch Netflix on my own computer, but I bought Shadow PC to use as my main computer for my 5 year old laptop; and, as far as I know it's not currently possible to overlay Netflix on top of Shadow technically anyone could just use a second monitor for the PC you're running Shadow off of, but that's improbable for people like me who travel for work frequently and don't stay at a desk, usually. Just bouncing off ideas to look back on later when I forget some of this, and things anyone reading this can consider I guess.
Yes, purchasing a wifi 6 router of your own would help, I would recommend the Archer ax-1500 (https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Wireless-AX1500-Wifi-Router/dp/B07ZSDR49S). As for your internet speed, virtual desktop won’t even let you set it above 150 mbps. Even still I wouldn’t recommend setting it above 100 mbps, as thats when you start seeing some increased latency from the high bandwidth consumption (I think).
I use this keyboard https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-KUMARA-Backlit-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B019O9BLVY?th=1 Its the Redragon Kumura, it has RGB Lighting and Blue Mechanical Switches. Its definitely worth the $45 price tag, plus it currently has a Lightning Sale on Amazon for Prime Day so its only $35 for the next 3 hours.
There is a whole ecosystem steam has that people dont use/know about.
Steam link used to be a hardware device but is now software based like on android here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.valvesoftware.steamlink
There is also Steam Anywhere and Steam Play together
https://store.steampowered.com/remoteplay
Give it a try its free AND it can used on shadow too
As long as you don't use promiscuous mode, you should be fine.
Also, you can use remote access VPNs that do split tunneling without issue on Shadow. The VPNs that effectively create a new default route (like ExpressVPN, Nord, etc.) are the ones that don't work on Shadow.
This is the one i am using. It also has a ethernet jack so if that's a option for you
I personally have rebought a Speedlink Flightstick last year. My actual one seems to have suffer from mistreatment by my Dad during vacation I think. The rubber on the stick felt sticky. https://www.amazon.de/Flightstick-Schubhebel-Seitenrudersteuerung-Vibrationsfunktion-8-Wege-Rundblickschalter/dp/B0148DM98A
Speedlink doesn't manufactor this one since years now, however I was lucky to get one on ebay (it was completly new) For me personally this is the better compared to those only having a single Joystick. however I did never tried another Joystick besides the one from Speedlink
I have a friend who swears by Mouse Jigglers. I've personally never tried one, but the idea is that a hardware device is plugged in and sends mouse events. The problem with many programs which simulate mouse movements is that these programs aren't able to truly mimic mouse/keyboard presses do to a virtualization layer between applications and a computer's hardware (this is to make it more difficult for hackers to steal your passwords using a keylogger).Using a physical device which acts as a mouse that is constantly jiggling might fix the virtualization issue. Again, I have never personally tried them, but seems to me that it might work where the applications you've tried have failed.
After a quick amazon search: amazon link
Shadow need to update their official shadow.tech website as the Downloads section links to the old Shadow Cloud Gaming (1.2.10) app, which supported android 5.0+ but has now been completely removed from Play Store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blade.shadow.beyond
The new Shadow "beta" android app (1.01) can be found at
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blade.shadowcloudgaming
I believe the shadow app from the Android store will let you utilize beyond but you have to go to the link below and download beyond on your shadow to enable everything.
Beyond link: https://shadow.tech/usen/beyond
Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blade.shadow.beyond
What is make and model of phone or tablet?
What is version of Shadow app?
What have tried to get controller working?
To save a lot of pfaffing about you may have much better results using Shadow on android 1.1.0-beta8 app. You can download it from https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/blade-group/shadow/
I don't know what quality internet service you have in Slovenia, but almost everywhere has better than here in the USA. Shadow recommends a minimum of an 11 Mbps connection (that's Megabits and not Megabytes). My connection has been metered at 12 Mbps, I use Shadow Desktop app for Windows 10 on my physical PC. I'm unable to set Shadow to use the full 12 Mbps or it won't work at all, so I set it at 6 Mbps through the Shadow control panel and it works like a charm.
I wouldn't use a VPN while using Shadow, it might add to whatever latency you already have. As Shadow is a web service much like Netflix or YouTube, you can use it anywhere you have an internet connection... but the further you are from a Shadow Data Center, the more latency you will have.
In Slovenia, you're roughly the same distance from the Paris and Amsterdam data centers. This distance between you and both of those data centers is roughly the same distance between me and my nearest data center. With most of Europe having massively better internet speed than we do here in the US, you're probably ok.
I do recommend that you go here and run a speed test. Run two tests (make sure any other internet consuming devices/programs aren't connected at the time for best results). The first test, choose an Amsterdam data center... any one will do. For the second test, choose a Paris data center. Whichever of these tests give you the lowest Ping, that's the one you should
register under.
I ran a speed test using that site I linked above for where my nearest Shadow Data Center is, which would be Chicago, IL.
My Results:
Ping > 31ms
Download > 12.20 Mbps
Upload > 0.98 Mbps
If you have better results than that (because I'm basically at the extreme lower end of viability,) you SHOULD have a good connection with Shadow. I hope this helps, if you have additional questions I'm more than happy to help.
I have the same problem. No spikes if I don't start a game but in my case it's caused by the routing, it changes midway between my ISP and Shadow (Frankfurt data center) every single day from 8pm to 11pm. My latency is always 0 outside this time range regardless I'm playing or doing anything else on the VM.
The only solution that works for me is using VPN (NordVPN) and selecting the closest country and city to the data center. For me Is Vienna (Austria). And the latency is literally 0, no spikes. It adds like +3 +4ms to the ping, but that makes no difference for me. It took a few tries to get the best VPN city location but I found Vienna works in my case all the time.
Actually if you go to
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/blade-group/shadow-cloud-gaming/
You can see 1.0.6_legacy is latest android apk
So Blade are blocking Shield devices, I only use Shield devices.
It’s not me that doesn’t understand what that means dude. Take a read here: https://shadow.tech/blog/teamshadow/what-is-operation-reboot. Blade was acquired by Octave Klaba and now is just called Shadow. The original people behind blade no longer own shadow nor did they buy it back.
Hi, you must be mistaken. Hubic bought Blade, Hubic then proceeded to rename its self to Shadow and keeping the name, Shadow. Blade does not exist anymore.
I hope that clarifies things. Beep Boop.
hey, how did your shadow get allocated to the Amsterdam data-center?
I just subscribed on shadow.tech/nl but once i'm logged in my machine and do a ip geolocation it shows that my IP is in the UK.
Was your data center really Paris? I'm a bit wary because of your use of the words "most likely".
Shadow doesn't move you from one data center to another, so if you signed up with a US adress, then you're still on a US datacenter, which explains the latency. I'm in east germany connecting to the Netherlands datacenter which is like 800km away, so I'm surprised the distance Italy - Paris which can't be that much greater is such a problem.
You can test your connection to various datacenters here, just select the country for which you want to test (no need to have an active account for that) :
https://shadow.tech/requirements/internet-speed-test/

Nobody has reported any problems with signing up from a non-supported country. It basically just means that you won't get any official support. Shadow is aware that a bunch of users are in other countries than specified, or that they are travelling.
You can connect a bank account at Privacy.com and it will let you create virtual debit cards (Visa/Mastercard.) They also have an iOS/Android app. Sometimes it can take a day or two for your bank account to be confirmed. Also, if you're worried about entering your bank info on that website, you can look up reviews for Privacy online or on the iOS/Android app stores. The company is 100% legit.
Wouldn't surprise me if they where a 1 to 10 ratio up to down is considered normal by most isp's i can't see why shadow would be much different.
Are you testing during peak hours? they might throttle based on overall network load.
I'm also getting 100 MBs upload though I'm in the uk and its 6 am so I'm thinking it might not be to do with peak times now.
I think it's just you. Or it might be your datacenter. I just tested mine, I'm on the California datacenter: https://www.speedtest.net/result/9417942114.png
Here : https://parsec.app/downloads
What you need to do is download Parsec both on your Mac and your Shadow, start them and get them connected and then play through the Parsec client on your Mac. Parsec basically replaces your Shadow launcher once it is set up.
You will probably need to keep the Shadow launcher running in the background anyway because otherwise the 30min inactivity shutdown will kick in.
PS4 controller is a special case if your using windows I had to order this from amazon https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Controller-Converter-Compatible/dp/B09N6P43GP/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?crid=2OC2KFWR236RX&keywords=ps4+controller+pc+adapter+official&qid=1643817970&sprefix=ps4+controller+pc+adapter%2Caps%2C122&...
If your running Linux then no issues with PS4 controller it just works.
There are affordable Routers that are WIFI 6 you can make as a dedicated router for gaming. This is what I have. I think the developer of Virtual Desktop recommends it. Also Shadow.tech is migrating data centers. I'm on the list to be moved so hopefully instead of a 23-25ms to data center I get even lower. There might be a move for yours later on that you may check.

Buddy you’ve got too much latency here that won’t be fixable your essentially operating a remote pc via video over the internet then converting that into another video feed over airplay all wireless if your on iPad. I’d recommend if you have an iPad with usb c input getting a dongle for it that has Ethernet and hdmi so you can wire it direct to your router and then hdmi to tv
Anker USB C Hub Adapter, 5-in-1 USB C Adapter with 4K USB C to HDMI, Ethernet Port, 3 USB 3.0 Ports, for MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, XPS, Pixelbook, and More https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07X8ZLYLR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_QM5Q17RDTABPGY9HXHTF
You can try paying for it yourself by signing up for those apps that pay you back for doing things. I’d recommend Swagbucks, which I used to buy my first month for 8 dollars. After you get around 1000 points on there they let you cash out for a $10 virtual gift card, 1500 for $15 card, and so on. You can sign up here, https://www.swagbucks.com/?cmd=sb-register&rb=45228417&cmp=197&cxid=2001-app They have a mobile app and browser version but I recommend the browser version because it has a crap ton more offers than the app. Hope I helped
Should be able to work. I know shadow needs at lease 15mbps of internet speed. If you state that you have "A pretty good connection" you should be fine. Best is to check your connection speed to the different OVH datacenters (paris, amsterdam etc.) To see which DC is best for you.

Use https://www.speedtest.net/
The server locations are on the website. Change your server on speed test to the city with the server closest to you. I’m In Western Canada so the closest server to me is Santa Clara California. It’s quite far but the ping is reasonable.
You only need to use a seedbox or Debrid service when downloading torrents. You don't need them for a direct download from a website. For torrenting I highly recommend Real-Debrid. It's pretty damn cheap (like $3/month) and works really well.
Once you've made an account, click "Torrents" at the top of the screen, paste the magnet link where it says "Paste magnet link here", then click the "Convert" button. Once the status of the conversion reaches 100%, click the download button on the right, then click the link to download it. You can do this with any kind of torrent (movies, applications, etc.)
Since you're downloading it directly from their server, and not via a standard torrenting program, there's zero chance of ever receiving a copyright claim. I even use Real-Debrid on my home PC because it's infinitely more convenient and faster than using a VPN and a program like BitTorrent.
I use 12.9 iPad Pro M1. It works great! The iPad has a 5G connection and Shadow's app has so much flexibility with it's bitstream. It is not hard to find a sweet spot wherever you are even if you dont have wifi. All the way down to however many Mbps you can afford at the location. I havent tried the 120 hz @ 1080p thing the guy yet like the other guy said but if it is the Shadow developer's issue maybe it will get fixed. I know 120 hz @ 1440p doesnt work yet. 60 fps has always been fine with me.
Here's is the big caveat! Since iPadOS 15 hit this year, mouse wheel scroll is broken on the iPad. Shadow hasnt fixed it and it has been an issue for like 6 months. You will either not want to update to iPadOS 15 from 14(Wish I did) or use a mouse with horizontal scrolling(left/right) like the MX Anywhere 2S. I can confirm it works with that mouse. It will automatically behave like up/down mouse scrolling. I think it might have been an intentional workaround Shadow put in the app.

NEWS - ACTIVATION OF PRE-ORDERS
Dear #TeamShadow,
We would like to share u/everyone an important message about pre-orders for Shadow Boost, Shadow Ultra and Shadow Infinite.
What is the current situation?
- 100% of Shadow Boost pre-orders will be activated by the end of February. This includes activations expected in February AND April.
- 100% of additional storage pre-orders will be delivered in March for any activated Shadow.
- 100% of pre-ordered Shadow Ghosts will be shipped from the beginning of March for all activated Shadows.
- A small portion of the Shadow Ultra and Shadow Infinite pre-orders will be activated during March.
- Other pre-control activations are delayed. Please be assured that we are making every effort to set a new activation date, but at this time there is still too much uncertainty to tell you.
For all those who will not be activated as planned, we are working on alternative solutions which will be detailed in an email to be sent on February 19th.
We have opened a dedicated channel - #🚀précommandes - where you will be able to ask your questions and discuss about pre-orders.
For questions and more information, you can join us tonight at Shadow News on our Twitch channel at 6:00pm** to talk directly with Jérôme, CEO of Shadow, and the rest of the team.

You're missing the point that the OP was trying to get across. It was advertised as high-end. A high end would entail top of the line specs, not a card from five years ago. 12 GB of RAM is a weird number (why not just 16? It's pretty cheap still), not even the 256 GB of SSD you get; Which is absurdly cheaper than it has ever been.
The CPU is probably the best thing going for it, but that's still a six year old processor and something I *definitely* would not advertise as high-end.
Check your connection speed to various servers here : https://shadow.tech/en-gb/requirements/internet-speed-test
I'm guessing best server for you will be Amsterdam (Nederland in that list), but maybe the UK servers are good as well.

hey, it depends on where you live, do a speed test on new york on shadow’s website at https://shadow.tech/requirements/internet-speed-test/ and see how much latency you get, hope you’re get it as soon as possible :)

Hi u/Reflectionofmysoul!
We do have future upgrades planned, but nothing announced at this point in time. Feel free to check out our latest information in our blog post here, specifically the question "When will we receive the new hardware and features of the new plan?".
https://shadow.tech/en-gb/terms-of-use
“The User is also prohibited from misusing the Services, or helping a third party to do so. In particular, when using the Services, the User is prohibited from: […] hampering or attempting to hamper, in any way whatsoever, the proper functioning of the Services, and in particular, disabling, altering, infringing or circumventing, or attempting to disable, alter, or circumvent, in any form whatsoever, any device or feature of the Services, in particular any security or authentication feature, access restriction, storage limit, or any standby or shut down mechanism, or providing HUBIC with false or inaccurate information, or accessing, modifying or using non-public areas of the Services or common areas of the Services which you are asked not to access;”
Orders:
- All orders are planned to be fulfilled before the end of 2021. The estimated date displayed in the past weeks and/or months was just a buffer/placeholder.
Also -
https://shadow.tech/blog/teamshadow/introducing-our-new-offer
So I browsed through the terms and:
https://shadow.tech/terms-of-use
I don't think Shadow actually has the legal right to cancel our year commitment plans of Ultra/Infinite before the term is up (those on monthly probably screwed). This was a contract. We can't cancel without Shadow's permission/fees, and Shadow can't cancel or change the price before the renewal of the contract (unless the user violated the TOS).
Locking in the price and service is literally the point of signing a contract for a year of service. Changing it before the term is up is fraud.
If this WASN'T a contract, then Shadow did not have the right to prevent you from canceling or charging fees for canceling early. They can't have it both ways.
Their TOS says nothing about giving them the right to outright change your subscription tier while you are on the year contract.
The closest thing is that it says they can change the price and you have to agree to it or cancel (but doesn't specify if it applies to year contract). But it doesn't say they can outright remove a tier or change your chosen tier option before your contract term is up.

Due to the current company situation new orders have been estimated a few months longer than usual. However, it's just an estimation.. It could be a lot shorter, depending on what happens in the coming months. https://shadow.tech/en-gb/blog/news/shadow-is-entering-a-new-era
Activation times depend on region. Other regions have shorter waiting times, while others are experiencing higher demand and/or less supply which increases the waiting time.
They don’t give the technical details here (they may be somewhere in this sub or their community forum but:
“On the machine side, your Shadow is hosted in a Tier 3 + datacenter, managed by an ISO 27001 certified company (Secured Hosting of IT Infrastructure). A dedicated team is permanently present on site, 24 hours a day. We also have effective protection systems against cyber-attacks (for example, firewalls against DDoS and other threats), and we encrypt the data sent from your hardware to the machine where you launch Shadow.”
For US healthcare there’s obviously no BAA and that’s a non starter. Unless you are dealing with highly secure info I would not worry about this.

I have an active Shadow Boost subscription and a pre-order for Shadow Ultra or Shadow Infinite in Europe. What will happen?
For now, preorders are maintained. The arrival of a new investor will allow us to have more clarity on the deployment plan. As a reminder, preordering a Shadow Ultra or Shadow Infinite is free, and you can always cancel via your account page."

I currently don't have a shadow, but I will try to answers as best as possible. The GTX 1080 package is the base packages, after you received your shadow you can upgrade to the Ultra or Infinite package, see here for details. However, this might not be able in your region.
To my knowledge, you can still use your shadow if you are traveling around, but since your shadow is bound to your nearest data center, you can expect higher latency the further you are away from it.
And yes, it currently does take so long, for me in Germany I have to 8 - 9 months and I ordered in March.

Hi u/nxfive, thanks for reaching out. As mentioned in the blog, the Shadow Infinite and Ultra configurations in the EU datacenter are now indefinitely on hold as we will not be able to make any decisions without first knowing our buyer('s intentions). Happy Easter to you too!
Unfortunately there's no Quick Menu on the mobile apps. You could go to https://shadow.tech/requirements/internet-speed-test/ on your phone and check it that way. It should give you a result that is similar to what you would see in the Quick Menu. Only drawback is that the result is static and doesn't update in realtime. If you do multiple tests though you can get a good idea of what the average ping is from phone --> Shadow.
I did your homework for you. Hope this helps....
>Availability of the Service:
In case of the total interruption of the Services for more than 24 hours, the User may be refunded by Blade the part of the monthly subscription calculated on a pro rata basis for the period the Services were unavailable, unless the interruption is a result of force majeure, an unforeseeable or unavoidable act of a third party, or the User's fault. Furthermore, due to the nature of the Internet, the User acknowledges and accepts that Blade cannot be held liable for any interruptions or alterations to access to the Services that may be caused by the Internet or the means of connection used by User.
Terms of Use of Shadow the most advanced cloud gaming service
Pick the closest datacenter from you(Should be New York or Chicago) and just enter the address of an hotel or something. For the credit card's zip code, just enter the digits of your own followed by 0s.
However, do a speedtest before to check if your connexion is good enough.
According to https://shadow.tech/blog/news/a-new-beginning-in-sight-for-shadow:
>I have an active Shadow Boost subscription and a pre-order for Shadow Ultra or Shadow Infinite in Europe. What will happen?

>For now, preorders are maintained. The arrival of a new investor will allow us to have more clarity on the deployment plan. As a reminder, preordering a Shadow Ultra or Shadow Infinite is free, and you can always cancel via your account page.

>Why didn't you communicate earlier about the delays regarding Shadow Ultra and Shadow Infinite in Europe?
>
>We had multiple options regarding the development of the company, but no certainty. We know more about Shadow's future now and as soon as this ownership change is complete, we will be able to communicate more information regarding the future of these offers in Europe.
>
>What are the next steps of the investment process for Shadow?
>
>This process should take a few weeks. As soon as it is done, we will communicate all the details and next steps.
So they haven't said yet that it's not happening, all they've said is they'll let you know what's happening in a few weeks when they finish with this ownership change.
Go here https://shadow.tech/requirements/internet-speed-test
An then select your country and (if required) state. Then click start Speedtest. It will measure your download/upload speed, ping and jitter. High input latency could be a caus to hight ping. Frequent lag spikes and connection interruptions are caused to hight jitter. Please tell me your ping and jitter.
There are no plans for new datacenters atm. Switzerland uses the Paris datacenter because the distance is not too far away. You can test your speed to the Paris datacenter in the requirements section on https://shadow.tech and see if you would have a good experience.
https://shadow.tech/blog/tech/what-causes-lag
According to their website and Shadow Support, you're the problem (that's what they told me)
Anyway, there seems to be more people having these problems and their servers appear to be on Yellow
Smh, they're trying to shift the blame?
You can run their speed test to see how well your connection will work.
https://shadow.tech/requirements/internet-speed-test/
And as mentioned, it’s also important to know if you have unlimited data.
The only Asian servers are in South Korea. To get to the Philippines from there, it’s most likely going to be underwater cable or fiber depending on the infrastructure. Still going to be a decent distance to make it from SK to the coast over land, and then out to your country underwater. Below is a blog excerpt.
"Our first South Korean members will discover Shadow service as you know it, but with a bit of a different offer: They will have the opportunity to try Shadow on a laptop made by LG Electronics. This trial offer will be limited in quantities as we want to see how the community enjoys it. Once we collect their feedback, we will start our official launch next year. " https://shadow.tech/blog/news/shadow-launches-in-south-korea1
You need the beta version of the client (should be able to find it in shadow.tech once you have logged in under downloads otherwise google it. (mac update fucked the old one apparently yay apple -.-)
That should allow you to pick up usb devices otherwise minecraft works fine and you can load it down with mods as well and it'll keep on chugging with the shadow hardware.
