Bought mine from Amazon some time ago. Pleased to see it's still up there.
I know it's not the answer everyone wants, but if Futurama is the only reason you subscribe to Netflix, just buy the seasons on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Space-Pilot-3000/dp/B0015QV4BM/). They average about $10 a season. So if you buy one season a month you'll be paying the same as a Netflix subscription, and you'll have the whole series in under a year.
Just watched this episode today, so I’ll take this chance to ask what I was wondering: does everyone get the reference to Budweiser’s Spuds McKenzie? Those commercials were retired in 1989, so are there are a lot of Futurama fans who don’t know about this guy? Or is that pretty much in the popular culture?
The statistics say 0/10 of my friends like them! Thats 0%! Now scale that sample size up to cover the entire worlds population (Roughly 7,300,000,000 people)!
(0 * 730,000,000)/(10 * 730,000,000) = 0/7,300,000,000
Thats still 0%! Nobody likes the Minions!

'The Simpsons and their Mathematical Secrets'! It's really not that dense, more interesting stories about the original writing team of the Simpsons and their lives than the meaning behind the maths jokes that they put in the show. I'm interested in maths but very much as a lay person, and I absolutely loved the book! Big section about Futurama too.
Kif: Sir, they're headed straight for us.

Kif: Sir, they've docked with us and have come aboard.
Zapp: Then I have risked all and lost. Kiff old man, I'll be in the escape pod. If that wicker chair I like survives the slaughter have it sent to my P.O. Box.
I think this screenshot is from the scene you're talking about.

For any other tv show I'd agree with you. But the futurama writers are kinda insane with easter egg stuff like this. They once created a new math theorem for an episode, and the show contains several translatable alien languages

As others point out what you have on your arm is correct.
And in case anyone is interested, here is a good explanation of vamos vs vamonos"
> vamos is the present first person plural = lets go. > > vamonos is the imperitive which normally is nos vamos, which can be contracted because of the rule that allow the pronoun to be attached to the end of the imperitive (vamosnos) is thus contracted to vámonos.

I used the pixbit icon pack and the time/date widget and icon placement (search icons are from the icon pack) were achieved using KLWP. It's pretty easy to replicate if you have used KLWP before

One of the benefits was getting to watch a bunch of Futurama too, plus it looks badass IMO.
Edit - I forgot the brains and info sphere... NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Brain in a vat is a very different concept than head in a jar. There's an old movie called The Brain That Wouldn't Die about a doctor who takes his wives decapitated head from a car crash and keeps it alive with "science", which Futuramas concept of immortality in a fishbowl is akin to.
"Brain in a vat" isn't so much science fiction as it is philosophical thinking point that posits that if you could replicate the data sent to the brain by the rest of our bodies using a computer or electronic impulses, it's perception of reality would be indistinguishable from actual reality. A head in a jar knows all too well of it's life of quiet dignity.
It's like Netflix except you supply the files.
So that big folder of movies and TV shows on your hard drive becomes a home media center for you and friends and family, as well as any other random internet stranger who you invite. As long as the host computer is up and internet connected, anyone with the invite can stream from it.
/r/plexshares has a bunch of people like me who share invite links for their server.
https://emby.media/ is a great free software alternative, I only use Plex because of my platforms my parents stream from.
Brings you to their site. But once you complete all the steps and go through the add-ons. There's one add-on for strictly South Park and it gets updated with new episodes.
Fuuuuuck! I admit I'm not a spanish speaker but google definitely led me to believe this was correct. "Vamonos" comes up where "vamanos" doesn't seem to. http://www.spanishdict.com/translate/vamonos

Jimmy Hoffa was a mobster in the 60s and 70s until he disappeared one day on 1975. Many theories revolve around his disappearance, some, like the subtitles suggest, was that he was a snitch.

SORRY FOR THE LONG LINKS
Hey, there were a few people asking how to make it or if they could buy one. Because I despise the filthy bourgeois, I would rather tell ya'll how to do it yourself without me marking it up and without y'all paying shipping costs.
Step One: Acquire a blank hat. I got mine for cheap at a secondhand store in Queens. If you can't find one at a store in person, Amazon seems like a good place to check. This is a good one, and is practically the same one I have: https://www.amazon.com/Unisex-Cotton-Cap-Adjustable-Plain/dp/B00OKYFQCE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489516999&sr=8-1&keywords=blank+hat
Step Two: Find yourself an iron-on patch. I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/FUTURAMA-Express-Embroidered-Patch-DressApprox/dp/B00JHX08QC/ref=sr_1_1?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1489517086&
Step Three: Iron it on! I used Youtube on how to do it properly. And there you go, now you can be a delivery boy too
It depends what you think their goal should be. I think they use their analytics for things other than customer experience.

This is the only one I can find on Amazon that will work on stainless steel, but if you'll go to Michael's, Hobby Lobby, or any other arts and crafts store, the salespeople should be able to find what you need. The only reason I'm not like "yay decal!" is because I know that thing will start peeling up after going in and out of a pocket a few times. It might be easier just to paint over the decal then pull it off.
Amazon has them. I got one for Christmas and it’s on a stand and the ship detaches magnetically. $8.98

My wife bought me a Coca Cola can minifridge for Christmas, because I said (in passing), "I bet that would be an awesome Slurm can." Lol. It was originally this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Coca-Cola-Mini-Can-Fridge/45653396?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=4597&adid=22222222228034202078&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=72834086432&wl4=aud-273067695102:pla-142231738112&wl5=90...
The description says the dimensions are 14.75 x 8.75 x 8.75 Inches (LxWxH). I spray painted it blue, then I custom made the nutrition facts, and ordered the slurm decal from Etsy ($16 with shipping).
Seen it like four times already but it's still awesome. Maybey I'll repost it in a month so I can get all the sweet karma you and others did.

Not related to futurama, I still remember buying Apple stock in the stockmarket game my middle school did for ~20$ a share. Current price is 490.90. I tried to convince my parents to buy a bunch of the stock, if only. Then again I also told them to buy stock in Palm
Second edit I remember why I said to buy Palm, because it was basically a penny stock (like 6-7$) at the time and they were coming out with a new phone or something

Indeed. TL;DR: they're not. According to le wikipedia:

To be fair, most people don't include disc drives anymore when building a PC.
I'm not sure how strict your college is, but look into using Easy2Boot to make a bootable USB containing as many ISOs as you can fit on your USB. It'll make your life so much easier considering you can drag and drop any new ISOs you may need (or need to update)
Wikipedia only shows 7 seasons.
The TVDB shows 7 as well: https://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=73871
Two are split into part 1 and part 2, and the movies are counted as a separate season by some sites, so that could be where the confusion comes from.

you might be able to find something in the pannucis pizza episode as well
Interesting. Looks a lot like angle clamp. I was looking for one other day on Amazon and then I see your post. My brain works funny like that.
Here it is on Amazon for those who want some. It's a little pricey but if you chugged this as a kid, it's totally worth the nostalgic sugar rush.
Highly rated, Prime, works surprisingly well, doesn't cause ear pain/discomfort, if the wife turns on the lights, you can pull it down over your eyes and go back to sleep...unless you have one of those unpleasant job type things.
I like PIA (Private Internet Access) but Netflix doesn't work with VPNs anymore afaik. Content providers threatened to pull their content if Netflix didn't start abiding by the contracts that stated they can only show certain material to certain countries.
For instance, AMC has a contract with Better Call Saul in the USA that says they have exclusive rights to it, while in Germany Netflix gets the newest episode every week.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
In case you want to check it out.
I've never seen the movie and if i read the book i don't recall, but it was a big deal when i was growing up so i do have a familiarity with it. It's about a psychiatric asylum and the mistreatment of patients there. Iirc Nurse Ratchet was a particularly sadistic character, but again i haven't seen it and i don't remember reading it so any info i have on it is pure hearsay.
Looks like you can get some too
I'm not 100% certain, but the movies seem to be available in their original, uncut form on Amazon Prime. Unfortunately it's Amazon Prime so you have to buy the movies. All four movies are available for $10 all together so once you buy them you'll have them for as long as Amazon allows.
Yes! We had this growing up. It was good when you're a kid and you just want sugar. We usually got the grape and ginger ale. If you're super curious, they do have it on Amazon
They'd need ~34 billion ice machines (going off this one), running 24/7/365 to create that ice.
34 billion ice machines would use 149 trillion kWh.
Record low CO2 emissons per kWh is at 135g/kWh - being generous, we'll use this figure - landing at 20 trillion tons CO2 from these machines running (Current emmisions are at 43 billion tons per year)
Each ton of CO2 emissions are responsible for the melting of 4.500 cubic meters of ice at the poles - Assuming the ice is of low density, this is 3.744.000 kg

That means that the emmisions caused by the electricity of the ice machines, would be responsible for an additional 75 quadrillion tons of melted ice. Which is over 62 thousand times the rate that the ice is already melting at.
This is of course excluding the production of said machines, the logistic challenges of transporting them, setting them up with power, providing water for them, transporting the ice, as well as the heat that comes off of their motors running 24/7, as well as the heat emmited with phase change.
…. The future.
Also Amazon, probably 😂

The costumes that you buy online typically have a eye mask to mimick the eye. In a pinch you can do the same thing with a paper plate and some elastic or an old pair of glasses. With more time you could try using some sheer fabric to cover the eye holes and still be see through.
I'd probably go with foam for the wrist-lo-jack-a-mator, but that is beyond my paper plate level of crafting.
You can get one of those full face visors, and paint the side flesh tone, attach some pipe cleaners for eyelashes and draw a big pupil.

They technically still were made by Fox, just made by Fox for CC. And were licensed at a different time. Not sure who actually owns the licensing rights for those seasons in the end, but since they are on Hulu, I'm guessing Fox.

Be aware that Hulu is about to shed a ton of content.
At least half of their television content is Warner Media or NBC Universal content. They'll presumably keep doing day-after-air for these shows, because that's Hulu's primary business model. But the majority of the shows that aren't Fox/Disney are going to pull their catalog later this year when HBOMax and Peacock launch.
So, it might be good to switch now, but you'll likely switch to something again before the year ends.
Edit: Hulu without commercials is competitive with other services in terms of price. Particularly if you're watching any currently-airing television or Hulu original content. Take a look at JustWatch to compare their library with other services.
Futurama started on Fox, and then moved to Comedy Central after being cancelled twice. IIRC, Comedy Central picks it up at “Bender’s Game” (the first movie).
It used to be on Netflix in the US, so it’s possible it could be on UK Netflix.
I use this site to find where to stream shows:
https://www.justwatch.com/us
I reckon you’ll remove the “/us” and add select your country. If it doesn’t work, there’s probably another site that can do the same for you.
Best of luck!

Once I saw the sunglasses, I immediately though of Kid Vid from the BK Kids (Old Burger King advertisement).
I personally think the glasses look stupid and should be removable. Also, why are all the dolls so frumpy and dwarfish?
Any Why No Farnsworth??
I actually ordered mine from Etsy, cause I knew I wouldn't get around to making it in time, but it's a mesh type material that's been painted on one side and has elastic to hold it on to my head. I could see through it pretty well, almost like putting a window screen up to your face.

It's not just Hulu and Netflix with discrepancies. The original airing included 7 seasons. The DVDs include 8. Neither of these include the movies as a season. IMDB follows the Hulu listing, including the films as a season with 10 seasons total. Plex annoyingly follows original aired order when auto-tagging, even when the original source is DVDs. (Took hours to learn this and rename all the files to make it work.) TVDB enumerates four different groupings of episodes: https://thetvdb.com/series/futurama
I have no explanation for how this happened. I'm just another confused and annoyed fan.
On Prime video they are a total of 10 seasons!

Judging by wikipedia you seem to be right. MAybe they divided differently the early episodes
>I was looking at buying the complete series on DVD from Amazon, but the reviews are not good.
I saw that and bought it anyway for $75.
Yeah, the box set isn't that great, but it's not that bad. The content is all there fine and dandy, it's just that the physical casing sleeves kinda suck, and they'll probably scratch the discs over long periods of use.
I think you'll end up spending a lot more if you try and buy the seasons a la carte, I wouldn't recommend doing so.
Whatever you do, don't buy them digitally. At $2 an episode, they're expensive as shit, and you'll miss out on all the extras, and most importantly, the commentary tracks. Oh, and DRM.
The full series torrent of Futurama is alright, but those rips aren't 100% consistent. Most of the earlier episodes are pitched up 100 cents or so and it really becomes noticable after a while. Streaming sites seem to use the same strange rips, so no luck downloading from there.
Anyway, since taking the discs in and out will both scratch the discs and be inconvenient as shit, I decided to spend time ripping all 27 or so disks using makemkv. Total result came out to be 188.1 GB, around a gig each episode, which for lossless-quality buffs is great, but I'm not one of them. To reduce filesize, I ran every episode through a handbrake encode at quality level 22, which took them down to around 125MB each totalling 23.4 GB, which is probably the best compromise of quality and size you can really get.
That's probably the best way to do it. It will take several hours to complete (a majority of the time spent doing other things waiting for ripping and encoding to finish) but it was definitely worth it. Install Plex to give yourself a netflix like environment to watch these in (as well as to make sharing with friends easy), and the end result is absolutely great.
Well, first off you are consenting (you probably just dont know it) when you use google services, like gmail, google maps, google search through the terms and conditions. Google then creates a ‘generic’ person account based on this info and your IP. The API’s are then paid for by companies like Amazon and Facebook for marketing purposes. Through a few function calls and using these two API’s:
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/geocoding/intro
https://landingcube.com/traffic/amazon-adwords/
I can very easily see your address, look at what keywords you search and various other things. From there I can do a simple search to find out your name from this info. Amazon does this all the time, how do you think they show ads for products that you just google-searched? Its a little silly to think that a company providing ad-free, free-of-charge, services to millions of users every single day, isn’t selling your info...
Hooray, thanks for this! I’d been looking around Amazon but I was afraid I might have been too late.

Mostly just hands, but I also use an x-acto knife and these guys for things like making indentations for the eyes.
Yes, I used to do that, but one year it had sold out and was never available again (can't remember the year), so now I always order as soon as possible and am nervous about missing out on it. I saw a listing for the 2021 calendar on Amazon just today -- complete with preview images.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/189284978X
HOWEVER, while the release date was listed as 29 September 2020, Amazon indicated there were none in stock. If I were to guess, assuming the 2021 calendar is a "go," then the publishing schedule has been delayed, most likely due to the pandemic (which has really messed up shipping schedules all over the place). I told Amazon to let me know if and when they become available. So, we'll see.
EDIT: I see Tricera42 already mentioned this. As of today, still not available. Stay tuned.
I know this is two weeks old but here you go:
This one contains every episode and every movie, so it is truly complete. That said, the discs come in cardboard sleeve cases which very easily scratch the discs. In many instances they are scratched before even being opened, so buy at your own risk.
This one contains all of the episodes of the show but not the movies. It also comes in standard DVD cases, which is good for the discs as it keeps them from getting scratched like they do in the above set.
All that said, the final two films as well as the entire Comedy Central era of the show are also available on Blu-Ray individually, so if you wanted to own the show in the highest possible quality, I'd recommend getting Volumes 1-4 and the first two films on DVD, and then the final two films and Volumes 5-8 on Blu-Ray. Not only is Blu-Ray HD, but the discs are also much more durable than DVDs, and won't scratch nearly as easily as the DVDs do.
