Someone else suggested an American 1100. I second that PROVIDED it will fit your case. Depends on the case we're talking about.
Thieves (baggage handlers) that want to get your guns are going to go with a few options. One, they'll cut the hinges off the box. Two, they cut the lock shackle. Three, they shim the padlock. Thieves tend not pick locks but they've probably learned about can shims.
In this case, that lock has a pretty tough shackle, and it's not (easily?) shimmable. So you're forcing them to destroy the case to get your stuff. Which is all you can expect from any lock. Make the lock harder to get past than the container.
You two should try Masterlock 141D's. They're practically everywhere, easy to pick, and give great feedback when setting the pins.

It is a good idea... just so many things to work on unfortunately. One day, though, we'll have them!
Have you seen our "high security paperweights" for sale on Amazon? Sorry for the shameless plug, but here's a link...
Random thoughts:
Just FYI the case is from Amazon, not TOOOL. Didn't want to confuse anyone that thought this was the case that TOOOL supplied.

Yep, says 87W in the documentation. I’ve trended both this and the stock cable…no difference in charge rates.
Added bonus: it’s not only 90 deg, it’s MagSafe.
Worth. Every. Penny.
Funny you ask - I actually wrote an entire presentation about that topic and gave it several times at various infosec cons in the area.
Here is an example for the curious.
Anyway, I find there are four kinds of people.
The incredulous think that lockpicking is invented for the movies, and don't think it is really possible that I can open a lock without a key.
The belligerent think that lockpickers are just burglars in training.
The security snobs think that lockpicking is secret knowledge, and should only be practiced by the anointed.
The cool kids get it.

Yes sir! I think do an Amazon search like "PACLOCK UCS PK300" or hit this link...
Have a look at M. Gibson's "Lockpicking: Detail Overkill" https://www.scribd.com/mobile/doc/205665803?width=360
Also try varying the amount of tension you're using to try and find a good spot. I'd probably avoid practicing on a deadbolt in use, just because it might be annoying to replace if it broke.

Just an idea if you have a lot of locks. I use these to hold all of my locks. I need a few more. They are interlocking and hold quite a bit. I used my Dymo thermo printer to make some labels. I live in an RV so space is limited. These work great in my overhead storage and keep things organized.
All nice locks, but I want to tell you a bit about the third in the top row. It's a steering column lock from the 19-teens made by the Rochester Safety Lock Company.
You can find some more examples here: http://www.antique-padlocks.com/comb_1dial_g-z.htm (search page for Rochester)
And you can actually see an illustration of its function in this old Motor World Wholesale Magazine:
https://books.google.com/books?id=6SkfAQAAMAAJ&pg=RA3-PA31&lpg=RA3-PA31
I've never seen one in person! Very very cool lock. Nice haul overall, but that Rochester is a real gem. Definitely hang onto it.
I also really love the style of the YALE logo in the bottom Yale. Super pretty, not a style I have in my Yale collection. And just in general, this is a great smattering of some of the most important american padlock manufacturers. Corbin, Yale, Illinois Lock Company and Champion.
Thank your friend for me. I'm glad he handed these over to someone who would take the time to post the pictures.
Also should note, the price I paid was maybe 25ish? Southord has some sales on pick sets. Others here might recommend you buy a full set, I also have a PXS-17 pick set that I typically use. The Jack-Knife set was in my car which I luckily had the windows rolled down enough I could get in as it too was locked.
Damn, color me impressed. You really went all-out with this setup. I know this wouldn't be as concealable, but if you're able to bring along a phone with you or have one with you anyway, NetHunter should be something you take a look at. If you've gotten used to Kali, you should feel mostly at home here. Anyway, fantastic work!
You just need to swap out to a different collet size.
Mine came with few different sizes. Just don't get the speed chuck, it leaves dents in the brass.
i just got this based on the recommendation from every other tool roll thread amazon

LOTO stands for "Lock out tag out". Generally these locks go on things that need to be temporarily locked down, like breaker boxes. The idea is that these locks, while lacking in physical security, prevent other people from turning breakers on and frying the electrician. Of course, this is only one application out of many.
These locks (Master 410), however, contain lots of security pins for no real reason. The appeal to us is that they're relatively inexpensive -sometimes as low as $6 when you're on Amazon at the right time, and they are useful for practicing picking 6 pin locks and locks with security pins.
You started off with a nice set. Sparrows picks are so much nicer than those cheapo sets that most people start off with from Amazon or eBay.
The Panavise is a really great vise but a bit on the expensive side. The Bessey Vise on Amazon is the one that I use and others pick up the green vise found at Harbor Freight. All of them serve their purpose and last a fairly long time.
Sure, you can do directly to your local locksmith and hit him up for assorted goodies but it is usually best to establish some kind of relationship with them before asking for anything. They are more likely to gift something to someone who has been in and out of their store buying things from them, than someone who walks in their door ending a conversation with "gimme stuff". It is best to be casual and let them know that you are fascinated with the elegant simplicity of how locks work and the innovative ways of how they make small alterations to the design to create more secure locks. That should butter them up a bit :D
Buy some locks at retail cost from them and always try to get in there and get to know them and talk a little shop. They are more than locksmiths and everyone enjoys a little personal attention.
You can also scour eBay. Just be sure to research what it is that you want to bid on before you do, so you have a better understanding of what the retail prices are, because you don't want to pay more than what the lock is sold for at retail cost.
Lastly, we have a bot here that can give you the lowdown on what you can start off with. Lemme call it for you: stab!
Nice! That was very interesting and they actually explained it better than Mr. Feynman did himself in his autobiography; Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman, which is what I was referencing with my first comment. I wasn't actually saying "surely you're joking when you say Feynman used social engineering rather than actual safe cracking." I assume that's what you thought and that's why you responded with that video to prove that you were not, in fact, joking. Or maybe you got my poor little joke and just wanted to share that video with another Feynman fan, I don't know and either way it really was interesting and so, I thank you. Can you tell I've been drinking? Yay Saturday nights on reddit!

brand name please. Or at the very least... a picture of said lock. If it is a sesame type lock.... depending on the space between the dials... you can look in the space for any anomaly (usually a flat space, a notch, or a ridge) and then move each number up one space on the dial until it opens. You can also use a VERY thin piece of metal to hold in place in between the dials (if the space is really tight) and then watch it as it dips inward as you turn the dial.
Stay tuned for video examples.

I got the DANIU Transprent Practice Pad Lock with 12pcs from Banggood.
I've just started out, too. But LockPickingLawer considers them to be a good set for beginners. It also comes with an easy transparent lock. If you plan on buying this set from Banggood, along with any other products. I recommend ordering separately and using any valid coupon codes you can find to save yourself a few bob.
since i wanted to learn to pick because of it being a requirement for some geocaching (/r/geocaching) assignments, i didn't want to spend alot of money of the picks so i picked up these sets: https://www.banggood.com/DANIU-24pcs-Single-Hook-Lock-Pick-Set-Locksmith-Tools-Lock-Pick-Kit-p-921078.html?rmmds=search and https://www.banggood.com/Transparent-Inner-Visual-Padlock-Practice-Set-with-10Pcs-Unlocking-Lock-Pick-Key-Lock-Pick-Tools-p-1108011.html?rmmds=search (but mine was the set without the transparent lock)
good enough for my needs atm, but as i'm starting to like it more i might invest in some better tools :)
Some people like to buy "music wire" some like allen wrenches. You just file them down until they fit nicely. You can buy an electronic digital caliper for more precise measurements for like $10 on ebay.
Personally, for the lazy, I love to file down these They work great for my Medeco.
A few people have commented on my photos in discord or elsewhere on my stickers so thought I’d make a post about it. I bought a super cheap sticker set off Amazon and color code all my locks to easily keep track of the difficulty levels. Certainly not necessary, but I find it fun.
Here’s the set I bought that has all the belt ranking colors, though I’m sure there are plenty of other similar sets on Amazon.

It’s easier to buy a padlock that accepts kik cylinders and drop them in the padlock if you prefer to pick padlocks. Something like this Abus 83 padlock will take kik cylinders and keep you from having to buy a new padlock every time you want to pick a new lock.
A vise would be recommended for picking mortise and rim cylinders. There is a kik version of the Assa Max+ here.
You’ll just need to put the padlock actuator from the cylinder that came with the padlock on your new cylinder.
That is zero bitted. So you would have to have someone cut the key for you and add in the correct sized keypins.
If it was a standard Schllage, I would suggest this kit, but maybe you can get someone to cut your blank to match the keys in the kit. They are both Schlage depths.
I don't know where you live but here's the link to the box on Amazon. I was looking at tackle boxes for fishing but none of them were quite right. This art box is good. A little flimsy I guess but you get what you pay for.

FYI, picking a lock runs the risk of damaging it. You could split a pin or jam the lock, leaving it stuck in whatever position it's currently in.
I'd look at an electric lock pick for speed and ease. Not that complicated to use, but pretty loud. Good ones run ~$150. A bit larger, so easier to carry in a duty bag.
Unless you've got a coordinated tactical entry, trying to pick a lock during entry sounds like a great way to get dead. You're stuck in a fatal funnel. It could take 5 seconds to pick, or you might just give up after 10 minutes. A door kick will always take 10 seconds.
I don't know where you work, what kind of threat level you deal with, or what kind of calls you deal with.
Look up some videos of electric lock picks, they're pretty fast. But a sledge hammer is $31 on Amazon and the batteries won't die at the worst possible moment.
That is 1/2 price! They go for $20 on Amazon. How would you like to arrange this?
Order yourself some sandpaper. I bought this set off of Amazon. Polish the black parts off of your picks and round off the corners on the hooks (leave the rough edges on the rakes, you want them to grab & catch).
If you are interested in a case, another great option it This Punch roll from amazon. Its $5.99 with prime shipping. I tend to agree with /u/bismuth17 my most used picks sit in an open Tupperware container on my desk, the only things in my pick case are rakes which I never use.
That's a defective lock.
I think you'll find the Abus 45 to be similar to the Master 3. The Abus 41 is another laminated steel lock, but just a bit tougher with 5 pins. You might also look at the Brady laminated locks, which are made by Abus. For example, Amazon currently has the Brady 143136, a 5-pinner made by Abus, for $4.13.
I just bought 4 of these on amazon

Might be good to mention too, you can buy the actual printed copy on Amazon for only $26, that way you can easily file through and hold up a key for comparison to the actual size diagrams.
The revolver is far more useful for practicing picking, but you kinda have to pin it via the grub screws. You can’t really gut it with a follower since it has 4 separate bibles. At the very least it will be a pain. It might be cheaper to buy a few kwikset or Schlage kiks or rims than to do the progressives though. Like this: Prime-Line Products E 2103 Cylinder Lock, 1-1/4 in, Schlage Shaped Keys https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VZKBQC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_uHazFbQZ7NWNY

These look adorable, and I like the picks you made too! I found the listing for them on Banggood, so I think I'll pick up a set as well, even though I really don't need them with the Sparrows and SouthOrds that I have already. lol Here they are in case anyone else is interested: https://www.banggood.com/7-pieces-of-Lock-Break-Key-Extractor-Removal-Hook-Needle-Lock-Pick-Locksmith-Tool-Kit-p-1870253.html
Thanks. Inspiration came when that guy came into here looking for info on creating a lockpicking mechanic for an RPG he was working on. Initially I ginned up a little javascript lock generator & picker: http://jsfiddle.net/Shoebox/9ahtmst7/embedded/result/ which includes overlifting, MACS, difficulties based on bitting, etc.
Anyway, after doing that I realized that the core concepts could be converted to dice. Initially it was a pretty direct translation, but that was 0 fun, so I added some rules, playtested it a bit, and now it is a little fun. Not the best! But if you get a few people who are really into it, it can be a good time.
SouthOrd are a "proper" equipment company, I've never used their stuff, but by all accounts they make good gear. Personally I started with this, not very good.
Other than the rubbish practise lock in that kit, I found various old and keyless locks from second hand shops and scrappers as well as picking up new cheap ones.
I watched youtube videos, mainly BosnianBill and Lock Picking Lawyer. I Read stuff like the "MIT guide to lockpicking" and since discovering this subreddit, the stuff in the FAQ here.
Basically I think it mainly boils down to: read, observe, practise.
You will want a pick like this to open them

You can make some order some from China.
My first set was actually made from decent steel but had a horrible finish some (a lot) of sanding was needed to get decent feedback and to keep the picks from eating the pins.
Edit; it was one similar to this, just a bit smaller. Keep in mind that the tension tools are shit and you will need to make your own.
Jewelry case lock. So-so security, but they're more to prevent pilferage anyway, because they're designed to lock shut a glass case. European product, hard to find in the US, and super expensive when you do. I ordered a few for a jeweler back in the 90's and it took so long to get them that he'd gone out of business by the time I received them. Looking on the internet, I see nothing, unfortunately. Really, you're almost better off coming up with a different locking solution. What's the application?
EDIT: found a chinese knockoff for $1.50/ea.... unfortunately there's a minimum order of 2000 units!
EDIT2: boom. six and a half bucks on ebay, shipped
Be forewarned. I have two Master 140 padlocks and a set of Sparrows comb picks, and the comb picks work on only one lock.

I use old / cheap hacksaw blade (they are .022" high carbon steel). Trace profile on to the blank and grind it to shape. After few tries and I got good at it. I grind away most of material on bench grinder and use this tool (link below) for final touch on the profile. All materials and tools are pretty cheap. It allows me to experiment with different pick profiles when other ppl recommended it. Blades $5 for 50 pieces from Harborfreight.
If you want a tough to pick LOTO get an ABUS 74/40. Will provide you with plenty of challenge and aggravation. They're also cheaper than Master by about half.
I know what you are talking about BUT, if you see it again, I think you will see important differences. You are talking about what is sometimes called the Czech tool.
This likely what you are talking about, https://www.amazon.com/100-Authentic-Czech-Pipe-Tool/dp/B004M02K7A
Most pipe smokers have at least one. I am a pipe smoker and can't think of anything else that comes close to looking like this lock tool. I can certainly see why this little gizmo triggered that memory. It is made of the same sort of cheap steel with the same shine and about the same size. I have one of each of these tools. Look at it and try to see how you could use this lock tool to tamp the tobacco in a pipe. The shape is all wrong for cleaning the pipe bowl and there is no straight thin rod used to clean the hole between the bowl and the stem.
But it is easy to see how his pipe tool immediately came to mind. Memory is not recall, it is reconstruction. It fools us humans regularly. :) That is why several people viewing the same event will have several versions of exactly what happened and will remember completely different details. It is closer to interpretation than to recall.
The 410s will teach you a lot!
A Paclock PL410-PRO could be a nice next step. It's a similar plastic body LOTO but it has 7 pins and serrations everywhere (just like an American 1100) with loud and very tactile feedback just like the 410.
like one of these... man I'm considering it myself now

I hope you didn't pay more than $5 for them, here they are on Amazon (in the toy section, lol). Here are some of my Petersons in it. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CZrJLC9VAAAQFIR.jpg:large
This Bessey stand on Amazon has treated me well since Christmas. Quick shipping, too. As for picks, Peterson's City Set is a popular beginning kit. You can purchase from other manufacturers if you prefer, but I'd recommend Peterson because they also sell their Prybar TOK tension wrenches, which can't be beat (edit: save on shipping if you buy those and Peterson picks). Highly recommended. All told, you should spend ~$100-$150 for the whole setup, practice lock and all. Even cheaper if you buy individual picks without a case.
eBay , feeler gauge 0.021 inches
And tongue depressors (wood) the kind doctors/nurses use to look at your tonsils (Amazon) but any Popsicle type wood will do just as well.
Wooden Tongue Depressers/Spatulas 6"(100) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008CD7Z9Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_86OGybT9STNEY
It works out at 5p/6cents per pick for the wood and maybe 80p/90c for the metal depending on what you pay for it.
Amazon, eBay, wherever. Brass rod stock in specific diameters is a bit beyond what you can find at the Home Depot. Fortunately, it doesn't take much.
Here is some 3mm brass rod stock that works great for Kwikset and Schlage: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074W3W1B1
Technically, it's too big (.118 inches instead of .115 inches), but what's a few thousands of an inch between friends? ;)
The Panavise 350 that Bill uses is on Amazon for about $90. It comes with the tray base for that.
PanaVise 350 Multi-Purpose Work Center https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00011QA0M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_3nHOAbAD0Q7GR
There are other, cheaper models of Panavise on Amazon, one for $26 and another for $50 if I remember correctly.
Thanks! The lack of a tripod is what had been holding me up from making picking videos earlier.
I'd been looking at cheap tripods on Amazon, but then I remembered that I'd bought a cellphone camera mount for my telescope. Normally, that mount would aim the phone camera at the telescope eyepiece, but instead I swung it off to the side and aimed my phone camera straight down at my desk instead, pulling my telescope next to my desk, giving an overhead view. It seems to work fairly well, although the top-down view doesn't give the viewer a great view of the keyway.
This desktop tripod was the one I was about to order before I decided to try jerry-rigging the telescope mount. I liked that it was 12" whereas most desktop ones were shorter. My only concern about a desktop tripod is how to work around it without it getting in the way.
Not sure why your post got downvoted (hopefully that will be corrected as more people see your post), but welcome to the community! Those were great locks to start with. Just the right amount of challenge.
If you're looking for ideas where to go next, I'd suggest looking at the lock list that will be posted by a bot in a reply to this message when I suggest you take a stab! at some more difficult locks, and see if any look good. There is also the belt ranking list which is far mor comprehensive.
I particularly enjoyed the Abus 55/40 which is a good tick up in difficulty from the locks you've been opening but will still be within your abilities. You can find it on Amazon for about $6 or $7, with free shipping if you have Prime.
That makes no sense - they come in original packaging, and have the serrated key pins, the fully serrated driver pins, and spools. The bitting however is just plain terrible. Not sure how it would be counterfeit.
Edit: American Lock A1106YLW Padlock Keyed, Aluminum, Yellow https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015MG09E8/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_qoMQAbGW14XCR here is the link to the Amazon purchase. If they're selling counterfeits, we have a problem.
I'm unfamiliar with dimple locks myself so I can't help you there, although I'd love to start messing around with one. In terms of videos, if you have a tablet with a decent camera you're pretty much set. Alternatively, you can get a tripod (the Amazon Basics one is good and quite cheap); pretty much any camera that can record decent video; and an external mic, one of those earbud mics, or even one built into a laptop or camera if it's good enough.
Personally I have my camera mounted where I can see the screen to be sure I'm in focus and staying in frame. For audio I have a studio mic on a scissor boom (both super overkill but I had them around) positioned near me, which I record with Audacity. Then editing is just a matter of syncing tracks and cutting out my AV sync at the start and where I stop recording at the end.
Haha' I would but I like having 3 Keyed Alike xD But I remember seeing the same padlock on Amazon but it has a much shorter shackle & it's priced a little over 13 bucks, seems like a good deal.....
Thanks for the help. I'm going to contact a locksmith today to get a few nice deadbolts. I saw that the amazon deal of the day is a camera system. I'm going to look into getting one of those.
I'd love to get a full alarm system and the glass and all, but I'm probably moving within a month or two, so I might just save my money and do it at the new place.
The Abus Granit is common in the US or buy on Amazon
Xacto Razor Saw from Amazon for $10.
Can’t confirm but I suspect it’s likely a gen 2. You can get the gen 3 which is the hardest Smartkey model here for cheaper than they’re asking for the Weiser.
You can get the padlock for less than 20 on Amazon but you have to drill a pin out to be able to gut it. It’s not hard at all but may be something you’re not interested in doing.
Are you asking how to organize those picks? Perhaps a bag with this kind of design? Knitting Needles Holder Case Rolling Organizer for Crochet Hooks Accessories (Blue Deer) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D2Y7RD7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_lcgMCb045YR9Z
Roll out it up when not in use. Just an idea.

I think these are the hooks. They sale a bunch of different strengths.
So far, everything I own for lock picking (except one vice) fits in these two CLC bags. .
But I am amazed how many locks (and other stuff) you can fit in two little bags.
You can grab this set or assorted sandpaper with mostly polishing grits in the mix. You can watch how Old Bill finishes his pick here. That is the method that I use, but I take it a step further and use a felt wheel and blue magic metal polish on my dremel to finish them.
If you are starting off with .025" picks, it is best to use the 400 grit to start and the 600 to smooth out the dimples on the edges. Always take it slow and work in short bursts so you can go in to see the results before you go too far.
You sure can!
You just need to decode the key and swap out the pins to match the key of your choosing.
This kit should be able to give you enough pins to get it done.
