As the creator of Universe Sandbox, I'm so grateful for being included in the bundle and for Nerd³'s video description.
"... and watch galaxies collide in real time."
So awesome. Thank you.
There's only one logical next step.
Turn on all Hue lights in your home to that particular shade of purple whenever Dan starts streaming.
Yes, they should never use a VPN. Especially free ones such as CyberGhost VPN.
That's awesome that someone noticed the quote.
So grateful for his enthusiastic commentary and for making the video at all. We've been working on Universe Sandbox ² for the past 4 years and was so pleased when I saw that he made the new video.
I'm the creator and project lead on Universe Sandbox ².
I use Firefox, and have to have a special script to disable blocking for certain Youtubers, as it works via adding a tag to the URL of each video. I found out the other day that it doesn't work on embedded videos. Just thought I'd mention it just in case anyone else uses it too, to avoid conflict.
Oh, and the script. Keep in mind you need Greasemonkey!
there's a game on kongregate called "Upgrade Complete" - Basically take the principle from that game that literally nothing is safe, even menu buttons, and make everything dlc. Even art assets. Chair Model 4? If you want that, you need $1.99. Tan rock texture #2? $0.99. Glass break SFX? Well, you'll have to wait for the spring 2015 DLC set for that.
The sequel, Universe Sandbox ², that's been in development for almost 3 years, and that we will begin selling this year, will work on Windows, Linux, and Mac.
I'm the creator of Universe Sandbox.
^^I ^^should ^^probably ^^play ^^the ^^game ^^before ^^reviewing ^^it.

First 125 comics!!! w/ Dan's notes. They went till over 300 i think, but only these were PDF so that's why I have them. I hope Dan doesn't mind, since I didn't find them online anywhere else.
You can do it per "thing" too. (Like Amanda Palmer does.) I think tiny donations per thing is better than monthly because monthly adds pressure to me to make stuff more regularly and I work better when deadlines aren't causing stress. :p
I actually quite enjoyed it. From a mechanical perspective, it's not interesting, as the timetables don't present much of a challenge, as you said. Obviously not something with a lot of replay value or interesting mechanics but it gives off a sort of vibe that I find very... interesting? I don't know the correct word to describe my feelings. Dan calls it "creepy". I find it weird but in a pleasant way? Another game that makes me feel this way, to an even greater extent, is Zenith. Dan covered it here awhile ago.
Did a google search for "nerdcubed pi fight" and this is the (dead) link it gave me: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.uk.nerdcubed.pifight&hl=en&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Dnerdcubed+pi+fight&pcampaignid=APPU_1_TV2EW5-oG8vGwQLB75eICA
It's also not on https://www.nerdcubed.co.uk/games/
The explanation to this is that Bing doesn't update its databases or rankings that often than Google does.
What happens is that there is a bot or a program which goes along the list of websites in the search engine, and receive information such as the title and meta information. It then would update the databases so it would view it on the search engine results.
Goggle has more of these bots updating the database than Bing (I assume, being the far bigger search engine). Meaning Google update their search results more often than Bing. Causing Bing to show older meta information.
EDIT: For more clarification, Bing updated the subreddits meta information on the first of April, and not updated it since. Google would have updated it more recently.
Why don't people just use this? I've been using this along with a front end and a little PC in an Arcade Machine Cabinet to have a massive emulator in my room, its pretty easy to use and bug free!
That's only a regular angle. This is an arch angle.
Nerdcubed Hell - Supra Mayro Kratt, an absolutely wonderful homage to the Mario Kart series done in unity.
The music alone makes the game well worth it.
The tool I used: https://github.com/LordH3lmchen/TwitchDownloader
The full VOD was 4GB and it is down to a much easier to store 1.87GB in a mp4 container instead of 3700 ts files.
The #haveawank starts at 1:42:00 into the video.

Enjoy.
I was wondering that, too. According to Steam.db, right now the top rated game is actually Portal 2, though One Finger Death Punch is only 0.06% away from tying it. So yeah, if things fluctuated enough I wouldn't be surprised if it was higher rated at one point or another.
This game was originally made for a gamejam. Indies vs Pewdiepie gamejam to be exact. It ended up 91st which is pretty good but mine game ended up 4 places higher(proof). Only if i wasn't lazy and finished mine game earlyer (which i still plan to) Dan could do a video on mine.
WARNING. SHAMELESS PLUG

This was the most viewed video about the original version of Universe Sandbox, it's very special to me.
Thanks to nerd³ for making it. It was through Reddit that we connected. :)
I am the creator & director of Universe Sandbox ².
Since we're scaling the size of the universe it also scales your distance from the Earth so the Earth seems to remain the same size. That said you can set the scale to basically be whatever you want all the way from 1:1 (real world scale) to making the visible universe fit into the palm of your hand.
I am the creator & director of Universe Sandbox ².
If any of you are curious, I looked up the mobile version: it is a PAID app ($2.99) that ALSO has in-app purchases (going up to $27 according to the Play store). And yes, the in-app purchases look like 'premium' currency in the screenshots, just as Dan guessed.
I'm just reminding everyone that kickstarter can be dangerous if you don't understand it, I'm not saying that Superhot is going to fail and I hope to god that it doesn't because I've backed it. What you are giving the developers is a donation. So im going to post this from the Kickstarter FAQ's.
It's the project creator's responsibility to complete their project. Kickstarter is not involved in the development of the projects themselves.
Kickstarter does not guarantee projects or investigate a creator's ability to complete their project. On Kickstarter, backers (you!) ultimately decide the validity and worthiness of a project by whether they decide to fund it.
Nerd³ Plays/FW - War For The Overworld
It's a game inspired by Dungeon Keeper, and it may just be the successor to Dungeon Keeper we all want (like Cities: Skylines was to Sim City).
Other people have mentioned Keepass but I use LastPass. Simple, easy and effective. When you register an account on a site it'll ask you whether you want to save it and you save the username and password. Then it'll automatically autofill the form next time you login (assuming you're logged in to LastPass with your master password).
The weird thing for me is that my autofilled passwords are longer and way more complex then my little master password. :P
I'm going to use this opportunity to plug my archive of Nerd³ stuff
Even though Unreal Engine has always been pretty much about programming, it seems that they now have something called "blueprints" that apparently allow you to create games without writing a single line of code. It looks amazing (even to me - someone who enjoys programming). I wonder how they did it and what you can really do with it.
Edit: words and letters and stuff. I should just go sleep.
Before anyone tries to do another Sonic comparison, please note:
This game started as a Sonic fangame.
This was originally presented as a fangame to the community, it became really popular when it was presented in the Sonic Amateur Games Expo '12 (yes, it exists), being pretty much above everything on the expo (except maybe the Before/After the Sequel games). It was after this that the Sonic community pressured the dev to forget about adding any Sonic stuff and financed a KickStarter to create the game.
While I haven't bought it, I've played every demo release since 1.1 (the one on the link above) and seen how the game has progressed from being a simple game to what it is now, I recommend anyone that's interested to grab that demo and play it along with the latest one. It truly shows what Sonic fans can do.
> Systems Nominal - $0.99
> An advertisement on YouTube - 5 seconds
> Seeing Dan's face light up when he announces his game at the top of Humble - Priceless
Come on guys, I know we can push it up even further, it's only a dollar and all goes to charity!
Let's show the power of the Procrastinators and make this a reality!
You can get the game from Humble for only $0.79 all weekend long!
Really grateful to Dan for making this video. He made the most viewed video about the original Universe Sandbox and I'd imagined he'd enjoy the all new sequel.
I created Universe Sandbox. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks... we've been working on the sequel, Universe Sandbox ² for the last 3 years. If you like the original, I think you'll love what we'll be releasing later this year.
Nerd³ Hell - Bear Simulator (If it ever gets released) - You play as a bear and it has "Simulator" in the title, there is literally no way that it can end well
You are not wrong. Oxford offers a multitude of meanings for "nominal". (See: Definition of 'nominal')
Especially #5 seems to be the most relevant in this case:
Example: "They are supplying ‘mission control’ with a steady stream of valuable data and all systems are nominal."
I played their "prototype" back when it was released, and I really liked the game. I am very excited about this.

you should really be aple to tell from those videos. like if you watch all Dan's videos, you'll know almost for certain what game will he like and what game will he hate.
But, if you're asking for generalisation, it can't be done in a satysfying enough way. there's no game out there that every human being likes. someone's gonna hate it. so if you want to make a game that most people would like, watch what most people do like and mix features of them together in a original enough manner. otherwise, just do whatever you like and hope other will too.
That being said, i think there are some guidelines to make a good game.
polish. it seems to increase the quality of the game to polish everything up quite a lot. that means, make sure that everything the player can do will not break the game or make it verry irritating ti play.
gameplay. this is obvious one. if there's no gameplay, it's a movie, not a game. it has to be interactible and a good game has interesting and fun mechanics to it. i think the more, the better.
some sort of story. it doesn't need to be told, but it needs to have some feel to it and a beginning and a end.
player is there to have fun but also challenge him/her self . so the game needs to have the right ballance between not using your brain at all and being a genious to solve this puzzle. so simple enough but also complex enough things to do. i think, a lot of games break at this point. for example, FEZ is too difficult from 50% completion even with a walktrough. on the other hand, a game where you just click a button for everything is too easy.
pricing. the game has to have just the right price for what it's offering.
selling. the game needs to say good things about itself but not overpromise.
and lastly, 7. it needs to be fun.
that's my opinion on the subject anyway. hope it helps. and along the way, you can check out my games ;)
Scroll down to the bottom of your Humble Library and click Disco Dodgeball here to get to your Steam key if you bought it through the Humble Store. Also note that there is also a giftable copy right below that so you can play with a friend or just give it out to someone!
Honestly, I can understand that he can be rather cynical, but take this into account. He has a very mentally and emotionally demanding job where he has to work 24/7 with barely any breaks. Not to mention with the crappy Internet he had in the UK and that the situation of that country is pretty fucked up politically right now. A new environment, and a much better Internet connection will definitely make him more up-beat (even though I thought he was rather up-beat before anyways).
Of course, there will be his days where he does get incredibly ill. Now, he can't just stop making videos. It's his job. Usually though, he tries his best to give you daily content that you can watch for FREE.
Now, like /u/SirRamen said, Dan isn't the typical happy-going, always-in-a-good mood person he was before. Years of Youtube comments, David Cameron, and other major fucking idiots probably deteriorated him beyond belief. Now, with the Youtube comments off, and David Cameron nowhere near in sight, I can imagine Dan will be much happier.
Now, if you're just patient, maybe you'll get your "old" Dan back, but to me, he never even left.
Plays - Risk Of Rain. Risk of Rain is a amazingly fun and challenging game. its a rouge like that will keep you on your feet and yelling through the whole thing. Its one of those games that likes to through enemies at you... by the hundreds :D
>Risk of Rain is an action platformer/adventure game with randomized elements - Risk Of Rain Website
Father and Son-Days - Liero - It is a lot of fun to play, and if you download it from here, it comes with some mods installed! Think of things like: maps, weapons, extra settings, etc. This version also has online games, if local play isn't an option. I'd love to see a battle between the two.
Nerd³ Challenges: BeamNG "Flight Simulator" * Step 1: Update BeamNG.Drive * Step 2: Install this mod. * Step 3: Open BeamNG.Drive and open the Grid, Pure Map. * Step 4: Spawn in the Cessna 172 * Step 5 Try and take off and land as many times as you can (Points: Take off= 1 point, land=1 point , and land after doing a barrel roll= 2 points) *Step 8 Try and beat my highscore of 8 points.
FW: Powder Toy
A brilliant falling sand game. You can build giant bombs, lasers, acid-lava duplication pouring acid on lava machines. Yes. The whole lot. Dan has played this already for a few minutes in an early "Three Free Games Friday" episode. It would be great for Dan to play with this for 20-40 minutes.

Another better explanation: The question: is Abandonware legal? >The simple answer is a definitive no. Copyrighted works that have been abandoned by their creators do not automatically become public property. On the contrary, they remain protected for the duration of the copyright, which varies from country to country. Downloading a copyrighted work is illegal, too, so it’s not just the sites that could get in trouble.
We're very hopeful that Nerd will be interested in checking out Universe Sandbox ² when it's further along. His video of the original Universe Sandbox has over 1.7 million views.
Universe Sandbox ² is still in early alpha and we're still working through some notable issues, making some major improvements to the UI, and core simulation.
While Universe Sandbox ² is already available for sale and in many ways so much better than the original... there's still lots of improvements to come.
Thanks for suggesting it. I created Universe Sandbox.
> Adblocking sucks - but not as much as all the tracking and profiling, even down to your mouse movements on a page, without it.

To anyone who knows HTML, it basically translates into <h1> to <h6> tags, depending on how many hashes you use. Documentation for markdown (what reddit's using, or close enough) is here:
This was created because school is teaching me sweet fa. We know from q&a's is that Dan's favorite color is greenish-purple. Now, if we were to look t this from a scientific perspective. Purple has the frequency of <i don't remember> and green has a frequency of <I forgot >. If we were to find the medium it would turn out to be indigo. However, that would yield green-purple not the same as greenish-purple. Hence we would add about 3 to the number to get the scientific greenish-purple. But this doesn't look like a new color.
Now if we were to look at this from an artistic view, green and purple are contrasting colors meaning they will not mix, and will create a blackish substance.
So what is the shade of greenish purple. Well in conclusion. It isn't a singular color. It's a pair of colors. An imaginary shade http://www.colourlovers.com/blog/2008/04/19/octarine-the-imaginary-color-of-magic There you will find more info on Dan's favorite color called Octarine.

There's Deemo. Another piano type thing. No wait! Don't leave! It's actually really great with a really nice story that goes along with it.
Vsauce covered it a while back in one of their App All Night video.
And it's free for Andriod!
Saturday Bibbins - Portal Still Alive
A few days ago Dan found out there was an XBOX version of Portal which had exclusive levels. Well, here in a link to a PC Mod which adds these levels into the PC version of the game.
Matt, go tell Dan, or he'll hate you for restricting his portal-ly goodness. I'm gonna grab a fuckin' sandwich.
has Dan ever considering doing another video on a game on Kickstarter? Peronsally, I have been hyped for The Universim, I would HIGHLY recommend it to Dan if you could contact him or something. I got the $65 bundle myself. There is only about 20-21 hours left to pledge!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crytivogames/the-universim
Escape From Bug Island. Beyond being absolute nightmare fuel, it's a Wii exclusive with no redeeming qualities except being incredibly infuriating. Controls don't work, the story is bland and predictable and there are about four different kinds of bugs. Although this game might not be the fourth worst rated game on metacritic as Ride To Hell is, it does aim for such prestige with a rating of 37.
Edit: metacritic score
People seemed to want me to make it in different sizes, so I decided to just render a bunch of em. Here you go
I hope one of those fits your screen size.
Vagante is an awesome early access rogue lite that has a lot of Spelunky elements but also rpg elements! You can buy it on Steam but the old Alpha version 8 is available to download for free: http://www.indiedb.com/games/vagante/downloads
The Steam version has more content but is similar enough that if you like the Alpha 8 then you will like the Steam version :)
Choice Chamber It's a Twitch game Dan could play as soon he is starting live streaming! It's currently on Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1451486150/choice-chamber) and you have to back it with 15$ to get the prototype. You play a quite simple platformer and fight monsters, but the chat decides which weapons, monsters, jump ability, etc etc you get.

As an aside to those who don't own the game on Steam, the game is currently on sale on indiegala for 2.50
For some reason I can never get a purchase to go through with indie gala, but if you guys can make it, enjoy it. Bloody great game.

I've heard a cool game while out on Youtube called Planets³, it is a 3D open-world voxel-based RPG (first person view), it's kinda like Minecraft.
"Planets³ adventures take place in a universe entirely made of 25cm³ blocks (voxels). Each planet represents thousands of billions of blocks. The blocks can be combined in a variety of ways to build beautiful objects and landscape elements of all shapes and size." There's a bunch of different planets and it's really cool, right now it's on Kickstarter!

I would love to see Dan play Town of Salem. It is strongly based on the mafia/werewolf party games, full of murder and deception, and it actually plays very well, with a nice assortment of roles and such. The game can be played here: Town of Salem. It is also on Kickstarter here! :)
Ah - I think you're reading it slightly wrong, I think a montage is more something like this. Though I imagine it could also be interpreted like the way you've used it. Just not very conventional, I suppose.
I was making (and still maintaining) an archive of Nerd³ things, including all the comics. It also has all the podcasts and some other extra things. (shameless plug :P)
Edit: also, doesn't the Nerd³ comic book have the website descriptions? (Although not the other bits that you added)
I'm starting to learn Python... I know this isn't the best place to ask this but... if any other programmers/devs are reading this thread... I'm currently just using http://ideone.com/ to write in but, what should I download/how do I create graphical programs and programs that can run in real time with inputs while the program is running instead of just having inputs at the start and only outputting something once the whole program finishes...?
[FW] - [Dwelvers]
It's an indie game built in the likes of Dungeon Keeper and Settlers, the game is fantastic, engaging and fun. It is still in alpha version, but I think Dan should take a look at it.
The link to the game is here http://www.indiedb.com/games/dwelvers
/u/Mattophobia might want to pass on to Dan (just in case Dan feels like trying FO3 someday) that there are patches to remove GfWL on Fallout 3, and also to patch it up for Windows 10. PCGamingWiki has links to both at...
https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Fallout_3#Play_without_Games_for_Windows_-_LIVE
The game should have an 'update' button on the top right of the main menu whenever there's an update available. Otherwise, you can go to https://www.humblebundle.com/home and download any previous purchases.
When this gets on Steam the process will be much easier : )
Ask us to put a comment with our Steam ID/link (e.g. JoshM_01, http://steamcommunity.com/id/JoshM_01) then use a randomiser (like this), and then you can friend us then gift us the game.
I suggest looking at Galactic Princess, a concept on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/19027642/galactic-princess?ref=category
Its basically the first Star Wars movie meets Faster Than Light (FTL). Sounds incredibly awesome, especially if they can get a proper budget.
Also, I feel that for simple catch phrase, something like what https://teespring.com/ does would work better than a full store. It's a short period campaign and a one-of event. I imagine the sales number always start high then went down (specially for the junk store), so for stuff like this, it might get better sales due to the limited editions nature and of the short period you can buy the stuff
Dan, you should play some Project Zomboid. You mentioned it in one of your other videos, but I've yet to see you do it. (By the way, the multiplayer is out, and it's AWESOME!) The game is a hardcore zombie survival that is still in alpha. You should really play it, because although it has recently exploded in popularity, I feel more people should still see it!
