Android Phones APK Link - 2.60 or new people who want to play on said phone.
~~Here's where I got mine~~ /u/nusyahus Is the true MVP
It is but they only allow it to be downloaded on Android tablets for some weird inexplicable reason, try finding an alternate source for the apk and it'll probably work anyway though.
EDIT: the url is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pokemon.pokemontcg
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/the-pokemon-company-international/pokemon-trading-card-game-online/
you can download and install the tablet version on phones too.
The UI is not designed for small screens but it works.
Every time an update lands you need update by installingthe new apk.
People have been hoping this for quite a while already :P
You could try installing it manually from here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/the-pokemon-company-international/pokemon-trading-card-game-online/
I think it should work on most devices, it works just fine on my Galaxy S4 although the screen size makes it almost unplayable.
You linked to old version
Cool, basically I am doing a chart like this on paper and then transferred the results over.
I'm thinking really I only need a desired/undesired column as this is coming out exactly the same as the heads/tails in the first 3 games I played, I will probably delete out the heads/tails columns after. So every time you get the coin flip result that benefits you, you'd tick desired, and vice versa.
precisely.

tl;dr: 3 psychological card player profiles used in the development of MtG: Timmy likes to land big creatures and see big damage going on. Johnny likes to be extremely creative with cards. Spike is the cold tournament player.
ptcg seems to be less appealing to johnny. the best thing is when some johnny-crazy stuff becomes tournament staple, like turbo-stasis, prosbloom, tradewinds etc. has that ever happened with ptcg?
They are websites/app stores where people upload the apk (the Android package installer file) and you can then download it and manually install it yourself. This is how I play PTCGO on my Android phone.
Go here and click on "Download APK".
Then open the APK (via your Notifications after it is done downloading or go to your Downloads), and step through the installer wizard. It'll probably prompt you something like "For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source". Click Settings, then check the "Allow from this source" box and you'll be good to go.
The downside is you'll have to do this every time they release an update. Usually people upload the APKs pretty quickly so it's not too much of a problem.
Here ya go https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/the-pokemon-company-international/pokemon-trading-card-game-online/pokemon-trading-card-game-online-2-57-0-release/pokemon-tcg-online-2-57-0-android-apk-download/ It gets updated everytime and its save
There's many layers to the Pokemon franchise that take priority over the physical card game and by extension, the online client. The Pokemon Company is not public so we do not know exact values of its earnings, but from some cursory searching, in 2015, TPCi generated 2.1 billion dollars in revenue from video games, the trading card game, TV show, accessories, and licenses combined. A loose comparison, but Magic the Gathering paper and online combined made 250 million revenue in 2013. As a collectible card game, Magic focuses on its card game, has a significantly larger card player base than Pokemon trading card players, and actively charges premiums for online play, but its revenues are dwarfed by the overall Pokemon franchise. Certainly, the Magic and PTCGO models differ and the year of revenue compared are not the same either, but the point is this: The Pokemon Company probably doesn't see a need to pour resources into monetizing PTCGO because it makes most of its money in other parts of its business that are far more lucrative.
It occurred to me after I noticed another thread on this topic that I never gave my final solution once I found one here. ProtonVPN on PC has completely fixed all the network errors I was having, so it might be good to give that a try. On your tablet, you'll have to use one of the various ones in the app store. I don't personally have a tablet so I can't recommend anything specific on that front.
If your willing to spend a little money (less tha $5) may I suggest buying the code for "Battle Arena Decks: Keldeo vs Raquaza"
It comes with 2 pre made decks. The Keldeo one is actually quite good and both decks great for starters.
It contains 4 meta EX Pokemon, several meta trainer cards, and other meta Pokemon.
There is one caviat it only works in expanded format. Not theme!
It's a very good start and well worth the money! Heck buy the IRL for you and your son and use the code it comes with online!
Here is an Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/Battle-Arena-Decks-Rayquaza-Keldeo/dp/B01GT1CY7K
You could search eBay and find the code alone fairly easily.
GL Have Fun!
technically they did then they abandoned it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pokemon.pokemontcg it doesnt support any modern device you can try to sideload an apk manually on android but it refuses to authenticate with servers and runs abysmally slow
It's this box, originally only released at Barnes & Noble, and coming out elsewhere soon I think. It's a hefty price tag and pretty limited stock, so the prices of codes is going to be pretty high. Check back in a couple weeks when it's released at a lot more retailers, but I imagine it will still be pretty pricey.
That was honestly the biggest selling point for me. I didn't have much time at home to sit at my PC to play TCGO so I caved in, got NordVPN and got it on my phone and have been LOVING it. One thing to note is how it displays your hand. You can see like 4 cards at a time and have to slide to see everything else. It's a bit cluttered feeling but dude, such a small price to pay lol still no landscape mode yet, or trading. But again, absolutely worth it IMO
But it was available. That's how I got it. I just went on the playstore. Looked it up. And downloaded it. It's even where the app takes me lol here's the link. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pokemon.pokemontcg idk why I magically was able to do that but I was. I even checked it yesterday to make sure an updated wasn't needed before today in case it was going to be a seamless launch.
Mostly because it isn't optimized and there's resolution issues where you can barely read the text on smaller phones. They configured it so that you can't download it from the Play Store as a result, you can install it but it's also to stop people from saying its unusable or UI issues (essentially saying it isn't supported), this is a backdoor method to play, accepting its faults.

For anyone else that's curious.
Should be it. You will have to uninstall and download the APK every single update I believe. Not that big of a deal.
Anyway goodluck :)
Yes there is a way.
Download a utility called Borderless Gaming, add PTCGO to the favorites list, make sure "Full Screen" is checked, then run the game in 1920x1080 windowed mode.
You can use this utility for a myriad of games that have this issue. I use it for Alan Wake, Cities: Skylines, Dead Island, Katamari, RISK, UNO, etc etc etc
Did you just install it again, or did you somehow uninstall it before reinstalling ?
Did you somehow pause & continue the download of the app, or maybe your PC shut down during download but continued it once you plugged in ?
If it keeps it up, you could try App Cleaner: http://download.cnet.com/AppCleaner/3000-2248_4-10867510.html
Start App Cleaner & click on "Applications", then scroll to Pokemon Trading Card Game Online app & check the box next to it (in this case, you could also try the Refresher app, as it's somehow affecting your PTCGO app), then press Search on the bottom right.
If the results have ".savedState" or ".crash" file(s): make sure ONLY those are checked on the left & then press the App Cleaner Delete button. Once that finishes, start the game again (this is the fix for when you get a crash and it keeps crashing again upon opening the game, could work here).
If that doesn't work, I would probably completely remove the app (run App Cleaner again; select PTCGO and the Refresher app; Search; check everything & press Delete), and then re-install it. I say probably because I can't be sure if it would cause an issue re-installing PTCGO (though it never has for me with other apps). Just make sure EVERYTHING is checked before you press delete, so nothing can be left to cause an issue.
Install App Cleaner: http://download.cnet.com/AppCleaner/3000-2248_4-10867510.html
Start App Cleaner & click on "Applications", then scroll to Pokemon Trading Card Game Online app & select the check box next to it, then press Search on the bottom right.
On the results page, make sure ONLY the ".savedState" or ".crash" files have a check next to them, and then press Delete on the bottom right & start the app again.
I don't think there's a way for it to work on a computer, but go here:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/the-pokemon-company-international/pokemon-trading-card-game-online/
Scroll down and you'll find some download links. Click on the most recent one, and it'll download to your phone or tablet.
You can try it on a computer. It might work.

got mine here, been working perfectly since I got it
The app is meant for tablets I believe. Since the device is not a tablet, it says it can't work, but using an Apk you can easily use it on your phone
The app is called Pokellector. It allows you to scan a ton of codes quickly, and then you can email them to yourself. It works really well and I haven't had a problem with it so far.
To check what version is currently installed find your application manager in settings. Then find the Pokémon Trading Card Game and click on it. Mine says "Version 2.48.0" near the top of the screen. Inside the ptcgo app you can also see the version number on the bottom of the login screen.
In the google play listing for me clicking on "Read More" and scrolling down you can see what version number is available, update release date and some other stuff.
I am just guessing a possible issue based on how other games like pokemon go have a staggered rollout. Haven't really heard of someone being told they don't have lastest after others have installed from the play store since they make the old version instantly unplayable.
Here is the apkmirror link if you end up wanting to try seeing if sideloading the app helps at all.
You can try to search for it at APKmirror, I always get the latest update for the client there.
Yes it is possible.
Download the .apk here:
Then follow this guide:
http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-install-apps-outside-of-google-play/
> I'm beginning to think that most folks don't even remember that mine has a mega form.
If you've played the video games competitively (on Pokemon Showdown, you'd know that Mega Medicham is popular, since it has lots of good high power moves and the highest attack stat in its tier (since it's ability Pure Power doubles its attack, oddly like Ancient Trait Medicham in the TCG).
is it this 1?
should i buy 2 or is there a way to get 2 more zacian elsewhere
It only officially supports tablets, which is why it isn't showing up on the play store. Visiting the playstore page will probably show you a message saying your device is not compatible.
However, I have installed it on several regular phones and it runs fine. To do so, visit the link below to download the app for your phone (use the orange download button). If you are on Android, it will download an apk file. Open the apk file and you will be prompted to install the game. You may need to enable installation from "unknown sources" (ie not the Google play store) in your security settings to get the app to install.

It's 7199 in yen on the Japanese Amazon. That's about $65 USD, so you're spending about $25 over a box here.
That moves it down to $35 for the extra stuff. Considering that a lot of people are paying $20-30 for the Keldeo vs Rayquaza duel decks to get SOME of the trainers included in this, I'd say that a lot of people would consider this worth it.
Ignoring the trainers, the elite trainer boxes here are a random assortment of 45 energy. The premium one is getting a set of 12 of each energy type amounting to 108 energy total or almost 2.5 times the energy in our packs. It's also enough to give pretty much any deck the energy it would need.
This box is overall a better deal than anything we have here in the US. You're getting almost everything you need to build a competitive deck minus the Pokemon for $65.
However, my guess for why America doesn't get these boxes is because the secondary market drives the purchase of packs here. Releasing these sets here would crash the secondary market which would likely lose TPCI a lot of sales from people investing in the card game or purchasing boxes to pull cards to sell.
I'm sure the card itself will be cheaper on TCGplayer.com but here is this?
Pokemon Detective Pikachu (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Combo Pack) (BD) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RMGBKB2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_utbtDbGD55TFP
OP here, I use the LG g pad x. I pretty much use it exclusively for PTCGO and watching youtube or anime. I've never had issues with it other than a bad camera for code scanning. I actually ended up with it by accident when trying to buy a tablet for my mom! I added it to my phone carrier for $10/mo on their special deal. All in all i'm pretty happy with it.
Edit: amazon link to tablet: https://www.amazon.com/LG-10-1-Inch-Unlocked-Widescreen-Bluetooth/dp/B01I0D3K1E
I'm into pokemon, but like a lot. After getting all the video games for game boy (no spin-off), I got into the physical/digital TCG game. Pokémon is love, pokemon is life. And now after reading Vol. 1-7 I'm waiting to get my hands on these Adventure Manga
I've had a lot of success just buying off of Amazon, usually $9-13 for a lot of 36 codes, depending on the pack. Not sure if you're looking to get that many, but it comes out to .25-.40 per pack
Edit: here's an example of the AO codes on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0140M197G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Whoopsies. Meant Umbreon, not Espeon. From Plasma Freeze that has the ability to give Team Plasma Pokemon +20 HP. Him plus giant cape places your Beartic at 170HP.
I'll just reiterate what most people have already said.
I prefer to buy packs on /r/pkmntcgtrades. That's where you're going to find the best deals/prices. Although I haven't really seen any for the Primal Clash codes yet...
www.nowpacks.com I have bought hundreds from and I would recommend them. Other than in these subreddits that is going to be your cheapest spot for codes. Those are sent to you in a trade, rather than giving you the codes to enter yourself, so you won't see them immediately, but I've always gotten my trade within a couple hours. EDIT: As others have mentioned nowpacks does seem a little fishy, but I haven't had any trouble with them. I'm not sure where they're getting their packs from though... haha
www.ptcgo.com & www.professor-oak.com both also sell online codes, but they're going to be the more expensive choice. I have bought codes from both places. The reason I did was because immediately after paying they give you the codes to enter the cards yourself, so there's no waiting. I do these if there's an in-game trade that I really want to do, but need a couple extra packs.
For Primal Clash specifically, I actually bought codes from Amazon. This seemed to be the cheapest I've seen the codes for so far at about $0.40 a pack. The downside to this though is that they're the physical cards and are shipped to you. (I'll get mine in the mail before they go live on ptcgo though).
