Here are the ones i have used and recommend highly.
No, this is a pop filter. Similar, but the pop filter is made for blocking high energy “p” and “t” syllables which overload the microphone. A windscreen achieves this as well, but also blocks noise from wind and prevents dust buildup.
The name isn’t unique to Americans, that’s simply what they’re called in the Audio field. Pop filter, pop screen, etc would refer to the screen on a gooseneck. Windscreen refers to the screen wrapped around the microphone itself.
Well this is a great time to learn. It is quite easy and you litteraly have nothing to lose at this point.
Also invest in something like this since it seems to be an issue. It will save you money in the long run.
They come in all shapes and sizes plus you can get more durable plastic ones that are stiff. Also look onto bitter spray for your dog. It seems like you dog is anxious or not getting enough exercise.
May I recommend these bad boys for it

Weird coincidence I was about to post exact same problem. I bought a Apex Pro for dirt cheap because it came with half the function keys broken off in the exact same fashion. Been debating using this glue as I have plenty of it for my warhammer models but I don't want to risk it!
i had those rgb rings on the arctis 5, iirc you can link both sides so their colors will match, if thats not the issue it might be something with the hardware itself, guess you have to rma it if you really care about the rgb that you cant see.
The Wicked Earcushions on Amazon worked really well for me. I got a pink and purple mix color pair for my Arctic 9Xs and black ones for my Arctis 3’s.
Completely close your browser, and see if they work then. I have seen a couple people who had an extension like (Google) Play Music which was taking those media key inputs instead of other applications.
If they work with your browser closed, you can either uninstall the extension or try disabling keyboard shortcuts for it, like this: http://superuser.com/questions/763023/media-keys-suddenly-not-working
WTF! My Arctis Pro (that looks to be an identical design to the 7) had regular Philips head screws. I was able to open and solder the cable and re-attach the earcup with sugru.

$18 total. I cut the clip off the receiver with a utility knife and attached it to the earpiece with a narrow strip of Gorilla black mounting tape.
I got these for mine, I like them much better, they feel better and sound better in my opinion. They are the same ones people were recommending online when I did my research into the arctic pro wireless as well.
Yeah no problem. This is by far one of the best desoldering pumps I've ever used. https://www.amazon.com/Engineer-SS-02-Solder-Sucker/dp/B002MJMXD4/ref=sr\_1\_2?dchild=1&keywords=desoldering+pump+japan&qid=1623908036&sr=8-2
I failed to apply the super glue correctly, also I suggest these, "Amazon.com: for Steelseries Rival 600 / Rival 650 Mouse Side Panels/Anti-Paste/Side Grip: Computers & Accessories" https://www.amazon.com/Steelseries-Rival-Mouse-Panels-Anti-Paste/dp/B07XSJ4D86/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=rival+600+side+panels&qid=1622944439&sprefix=rival+600+&sr=8-3
It doesn’t NEED one but I would 100 percent use it for anything u connect to PC. https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Adapter-Windows-Packaging/dp/B0785SFKYF/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=xbox+adapter+for+pc&qid=1603831096&sprefix=xbox+ad&sr=8-3
Bluetooth in the pc isn’t the best bc it was designed for Microsoft proprietary Bluetooth. Just buy that dongle and then it will act like a sync button that your Xbox uses. U can connect your headset and controller to your pc wirelessly. Instead of sync to your console, you’ll sync to that dongle plugged in to your pc
I had exact same issue. Find out that my NordVPN application causes this issue. I have uninstalled that and my engine works fine as before.
You can find lot of posts regarding this in this subredit if you scroll down.
Also this is one of suggested work around.

I got these headphones today from Best Buy, I was sad to see there microphone volume is ridiculously low. I was able to fix the problem using a program called "Equalizer APO" it's a third party equalizer program that will allow to you add a microphone boost or "gain". At first no one in discord could hear me but after I installed this program and adjusted the levels appropriately everything is just fine.
edit: You can get the program here https://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/
I had some success by installing an earlier version of Node.js in my case V12
Index of /download/release/v12.0.0/ (nodejs.org)
but it was stuck flashing between 3% and 97% (which was correct), you may have more luck
I really think Redditors should consider hitting up the Steelseries Trustpilot with their experiences. They usually send over a link after you close a ticket:

SteelSeries Reviews | Read Customer Service Reviews of www.steelseries.com (trustpilot.com)
The only way they'll make any changes is if it starts actually affecting their image/reputation and as customers we can have that power together.
Yeah, Google Play was specifically mentioned in the Q/A I found. There's a suggestion in one of the responses on how to disable the keyboard shortcuts for it, maybe give that a shot? http://superuser.com/questions/763023/media-keys-suddenly-not-working
Tidal Hi-Fi is the easiest solution, but you can buy here also https://vox.rocks/blog/10-sites-for-buying-lossless-music-in-flac
To be honest, not all people notice a difference between high quality lossy (320kbs) and Lossless music, so don't be disappointed if you feel you are missing out.
In terms of the headset, the audio quality is very good, and compared to the wireless it's a lot better - the wireless has a low audible hum. I consider myself as a true audiophile and have invested alot of money in audio equipment, but for this headset i see my self using PC-mode.
I don't listen to lossless much on my computer - I usually play games
The ability to mix between discord and games are far superior and quality in pc-mode is the same as HiRes (you need lossless to hear the difference there).
I never got it to work, had this exact headset and problem. After multiple forwards to the right person and days of trying myself, I was told by a "Technician Expert" it was not compatible.
I feel its one of the big missteps SS made with this Headset/DAC combo, they left the DAC out to dry. It could have been a go to product for some like the Astro Mix amp, I know multiple people who use that amp in there setup, without ever owning a Astro headset. It just fits a niche they need as a gamer.
Mine sadly sits in the box with my spare pc parts now, I got a pair of the G Pro X that a bunch seem to use and could not be happier. Wired directly into the Mini with the mobile cable so I don't have the 2 heads, Dolby Atmos enabled on Windows side.
I do miss listening to music on Tidal with Hi-Res enabled but I like the XLR setup more.
Get a windscreen for your mic so that it won’t collect dust. Also will clear up the sound of your mic a bit.
Happened to me too.
I have magnetic charging cables, If I would have known this were to happen I would have glued a connector in there.
I bought these from Amazon. I secured them in place with a few drops of glue because everything in the driver housing is factory sealed with adhesive.
Here's the link to the set I put on my TKL with the linear and quiet keys. There's some fit issues with some MX switch types so do some reading. I only had a little issue with my left shift sticking but I pulled it and reinstalled it and it's been fine since. Just make sure you gently push them down till they seat all the way, keep a notepad open and test your keys as you go.
Try getting some larger earcups. I found that it adds a tiny bit of size when the earcup holes are bigger.
I got these and they feel better than the original ones.

Nice! Ive never had a conflict with razer synapse, but they really gotta fix the NordVPN issue, I payed for a years subscription, and I cant even use it without literally making my headset and keyboard useless....
I guess youre in a similar boat as me. Its almost gotten to the point where I sell my SteelSeries gear and go Logitech so I can use my VPN lol
Thank you for this post. After tons of troubleshooting, I found out that SSE works fine when NordVPN isn't running.
I noticed in another thread that a 0.0.0.0 entry in your hostfile can cause the same issue. I'm wondering if NordVPN's ad blocking feature is having the same effect. I turned it off but the app itself still seems to be causing problems with SSE regardless.
Well this sucks balls! Has anyone told this to NordVPN? Going to send them a notice of this tomorrow. Signed up for 3 year plan but not really keen on keeping it if it's gonna screw up with my headset.

Just one example. It depends if you want closed or open cups. Massively changes what headphones are ideal for you. :)
Open headphones give you less directional audio but you are able to hear what's going on outside of the headphones. Closed headphones give you a much more directional audio with more 'sound isolation' and so are better if you live alone etc.
The ones I liked are closed headphones. Just check out the reviews before you purchase anything to ensure you know what you're getting for your money. ;)
Here ya go. Worth every penny as they work with AirPods too. The switch goes to work with me.
I had the same issue - I took mine to a pc repair shop and they repaied it quite easily. Then I purchased a magnet connector, so im not constantly pulling it out and in.

u/Possible_Influence_6 are you both happy with the Razer Huntsman V2 TKL? I'm seeing in on Black Friday sale right now for £99. Can't decide between the APEX PRO TKL (2023) or the Huntsman v2.
Thanks for the reply. I picked this one up for temp use and seems to be working great. Even though, this does work I ordered another Nova unit, but the PC/PS4 version. I don't want to be tied to using this splitter and it's not the look I'm going for on my desk area.
I saw another post where they said you can use this splitter to connect both to the same usb connection it's a splitter.
would the arctis nova 7x still work if i used an adapter like the one linked below, i know it comes with a cable adapter but i use a laptop and the whole reason i want this headset is because its wireless so adding a cable to connect it kind of defeats the purpose especially since its more noticeable on a laptop rather than a pc

Hi All,
Posting incase it helps someone.
OpenVPN based VPN software seems to cause the DTS to break on Arctis5/7 headsets. This will include most commercial vpns like Nord, PIA etc.
I solved this by installing the Openvpn Connect client and importing Private Internet Access profiles.
The connect client has a different TAP adaptor. Don't ask why a TAP adaptor can break DTS...
Been two weeks and still have 7.1 suround :)
Why do you guys spend money on that junk when you could get like a schiit hel or a sound blaster gc7 and some pc38x or some fidelios with a boompro or something and have a setup from an actual decent company that just poops all over those best buy toys for the same price.
Something like these. Steel series is the new turtle beach lol
I returned mine and picked up Sony WH-1000XM4 for the same price. Then I went to Amazon and got a boom mic cable and use them for gaming on my Xbox, work on my MacBook via Bluetooth and on my phone (connects to both at the same time via Bluetooth)
. No regrets, sounds quality is much better, noise cancelling is better, and working great for gaming, I do miss the dac, but it didn't work right so..
Here is the mic cable I picked up: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NCZZL49?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Good luck
No fix. Giving up and shipping it back to Amazon. It's too bad because I liked the feel of the keyboard. Hopefully Steelseries gets it sorted out.
Instead of trying another Steelseries, I just picked up a Razor BlackWidow Lite for $50.. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JGDDWDN
no, is directly from steelseries. here's the link.
I think there is no official ones at the moment, I am also looking for a hard carrying case for mine, and so far this is the most convincing to me: https://www.amazon.com/Aenllosi-Carrying-SteelSeries-Arctis-Headset/dp/B07R646TK3
There is the link for what I bought but it is the Canadian Amazon page. basically looking for something along the lines of a 2 in 4 out USB hub
I bought these off Amazon a couple weeks back. Worth the money for sure. Way more comfy, no sweaty ear like I thought might occur with the velvet material. 10/10 for me.
they can do a fabric interior and leather exterior like other earcup manufacturers do. it works just as good and is very comfortable.
Example from old Pro: https://www.amazon.com/WC-Freeze-Cooling-Replacement-Earpads/dp/B08ZRR3NC6?ref\_=ast\_sto\_dp&th=1&psc=1
If anyone wants a short term solution that doesn’t involve modding then headset, I bought these:
JARMOR Earpads Sweater Cover... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z2PCFR3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
And then put two on each ear. I then put normal foam padding in-between each cover (I have a bunch from an old pillow that was destroyed). Works great so far, although not a permanent solution.
I think what you're looking for is a USB dac (Digital to Audio Converter). A decent quality one will usually run you $20-30, but you can get cheaper ones.
I've heard good things about the roccat juke, which is usually around $20, but you might need a splitter cable to use both you headphones and mic.
However, looking at 3rd party chatmix cables on Amazon shows they're around $15, like this one. Hope this helps.

Got this one, and it works great! Aside from having to be plugged into my controller (which isn't a huge deal), it works just as it did for Xbox. Thanks!
Not 100% sure what you are doing there, but I'm glad you got it to work. Are you using the smaller straps to shorten the length of the old headband? What I've been doing is just crimping the headband at the top and stapling it together. When my head starts hitting the metal I just crimp it a bit further and staple a but more. I'll probably end up getting a replacement eventually. Looks like you can get one for $10 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/LZYDD-Headband-Replacement-SteelSeries-Headset/dp/B082C6QPPS
With that information, I’d basically come to the conclusion that the Nova Pro isn’t for you.
I donno if you checked international options, but the Pro Wireless is on Amazon Japan for about $286 USD. It’s shipped and sold by Amazon and ships to the US.
>Oh, sure, of course there is a huge difference, but that's regarding audio quality, not compatibility: you'll be able to use your Arctis completely fine whether you have only the motherboard's integrated audio, or a dedicated soundcard. But it is highly recommended to use the dedicated soundcar's 3.5 mm connector in order to get the best audio quality in this case.
Thank you for your valuable comment, I will evaluate according to the situation. But do you think a simple USB sound card will do the job?

One of the comments in that video say that this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phascinate.precisevolume&hl=en_CA
Fixes the issue by locking the volume.
I just ordered a refurbished pair of the arctis pro.

is the 3.5mm jack on your PC a combo jack or headphones only? As far as I know, the front panel one is usually audio out only, and you have separate holes for audio out and mic in on the motherboard.
You could try a splitter, her's a random example.
I've had this full size Apex 7 with brown switches since November 2020.
I just bought this Apex 3 TKL and hooked it up yesterday.
The Apex 7 is connected to my work laptop. I'm not a gamer so it's used 100% for typing. I bought the Apex 3 for minimal use at my hobby workbench. I build model kits (Star Wars, Star Trek, a few model planes, etc.) and set up a spare PC at the bench for looking up reference material and watching how-to videos.
I really like the feel of the Apex 3 but its a bit early to say if I like the feel of one over the other, especially since I'll be using them differently. The Apex 3 is definitely more quiet, and I'm not a fan of loud clicky keyboards so I'm pretty happy with the new one in that regard.
I can't really answer your question yet but the keyboards are really so different that I'd say it depends on what your looking for and if a clicky mechanical keyboard would annoy you or those around you.
Ooh, or! Another option would be the Arctis 1:
Same speaker driver, same functionality, and the "PC" version with the splitter/extender cable is included, for below $40! I personally have the Arctis 1 Wireless, and I love the hell out of them. The design of the Arctis 1 also doesn't have the structural issue that some of the higher end headsets (Like the Pros and the Arctis 9) have that tends to lead to failures where the Earcup breaks off.
Exactly, the headsets are identical. The only difference is that the "PC" version includes a second cable/adapter to split the single, 4-pole "TRRS" 3.5mm headset connector into two seperate 3-pole "TRS" 3.5mm speaker/mic connections. If your computer (Laptop or Motherboard) supports a "Headset" connection and not just seperate "Headphones/Speaker" and "Microphone" connections, this will work fine. You can usually check by looking at the icon next to the connections, if it's a full headset connection, the little icon will have mic attached to the headphones, like the left icon in this picture:
If you only have the icon like the Right side of the picture, then you'll likely have a seperate Microphone connection, as well, and you'll either need the actual PC version... Of you can cheap out and get something like this:
With a simple, cheap splitter like that, you'll be able to connect the 2-port system without issue, and still save some money, You'll probably just want to make sure you'll have a long enough cable to reach your computer, because the advantage of the cable included in the "PC" version of the Arctis 3 is that it's a couple feet long, and functions as a cable extender, as well.
If you're not sure, just take pictures of your computer's Audio Jacks and I can let you know what you options are. Ooh, and maybe get an estimate of how long a cable you'll need...

Surely the best option would be to get a mixer to have both outputs go to one monitor (your headset)
somthing like this which you have a bluetooth transmitter as the output
I bought the 7x at launch and ended up with two main issues with it.
The micro USB port. This was quickly and cheaply solved for me. I purchased one of those magnet charger kits from amazon. I will link something similar below. A small micro-b connecter stays in the port and the agent charger cable just attaches and dettaches easily. This was so nice it made me want to use it with some other peripherals too.

One earpiece had become looser than the other. But it never fully broke. I purchased a new one from SteelSeries and returned the old one. I've had this one ever since with no issues at all though.

This doesn't really answer your question, but maybe it will help you make a decision. Also never really had a problem with charging. I leave it plugged in between uses and have never run out of battery while using it.

I ended up using this after sanding both surfaces of the earcup and arm, clamped overnight to set.
