Then why did the FAQ specifically mention it? From archive.org
>Will you be adding in AMD Super resolution later?
Seems like a bit of a fuckup. I'm sure AMD were not at all happy.
>I mean, when it's in black and white directly from the company, how much are you to second-guess them or give benefit of the doubt. At face value 4A were talking about how it applied to their game.
Just because a company says something, doesn't mean it's absolutely 100% correct. They're people, they can make mistakes too.
Apply a bit of common sense before immediately trusting everything you read. Like, that's the most basic thing you can do when reading any articles on anything. I'm not asking you to immediately assume everything is wrong, I'm asking you apply common sense.
Here are some stuff from the blog:
That is correct according to the game website.
METRO EXODUS | THE METRO EXODUS PC ENHANCED EDITION ARRIVES MAY 6th
"We are pleased to announce that the Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition – a radical update that harnesses the power of Ray Tracing-capable GPUs to deliver an incredible visual upgrade – will launch on May 6 2021. The PC Enhanced Edition is FREE to all owners of the original release on Steam, the Epic Games Store, Good Old Games and the Microsoft Store." - p. [1]
The bait and switch they announced in February? You could always play the base game & get the Enhanced Edition for free when you get a better PC.
https://www.metrothegame.com/news/the-metro-exodus-pc-enhanced-edition-arrives-may-6th/
“ Will this be available on Linux/Mac No, this version needs Windows to run. Players on Mac can play the PC version with Ray Tracing via GeForce NOW. Learn more at https://www.geforcenow.com/ ”
PS5 version has RT lighting but not reflections like the PC version. You can see from this chart from their website.
I don't think this information is accurate unless something changed since February. The developers confirmed the only ray tracing feature missing is RT reflections. Ray traced global illumination with infinite light bounces were confirmed for console.
Nope, it’s the opposite. We’re getting everything besides the ray-traced reflections, however probably at lower levels than PC. Still should look great though.
It has RT, doesn't have "advanced Ray Traced reflections" according to the chart from their site https://www.metrothegame.com/assets/Uploads/_resampled/ResizedImageWzEwMDAsODI5XQ/NextGen-PCEnhanced-EN-Website.png
https://www.metrothegame.com/news/ranger-update/
" Thank you again or your ongoing support, the team at 4A Games will continue to work on future updates and we’ll be able to share our DLC plans for Expansion Pass holders in the near future!"
I've been playing for the past couple days (Xbox Game Pass version with no Expansion Pass) and it has not crashed on me yet, but I'm still at about 8h gameplay, currently at the desert level.
Last patch was released at 19/06/19 (June 19, 2019). Did you play it before that date?
The recommended specs for 4K RT Extreme is the 3090 which has 24GB of VRAM. In your screenshot it went from 8GB to 8.5GB. It really just looks like a bug and not some intentional plan to sabotage the game for the sake of 3070 users because regardless that card would choke at those settings.
How current is your info? They've had multiple patches in the past couple of weeks. but I personally still haven't gotten around to trying it myself.
>Would a crack fix the problems I've described?
Nope. The cracked version of "Metro Exodus" is old & doesn't contain the latest fixes. Fixes like this, is lacking in the cracked version:
>METRO EXODUS | THE METRO EXODUS PC ENHANCED EDITION ARRIVES MAY 6th

It is up on the official Metro website now.
The Expansion Pass has been out for a while so you can pre-purchase now, but you might want to wait until release for them since the first comes out in Summer.
This will be the first time they would try their hand at multiplayer, it is highly unlikely it will be an RPG. They mentioned they will be partnering with Saber Interactive to assist them in adding multiplayer and Saber Interactive has never worked on a multiplayer RPG. I think it's more likely they will add co-op (survival/missions) or other basic multiplayer modes.

Hey, we checked the guides and they should be working. If they still don't download for you, please try a different browser and use this link https://www.metrothegame.com/cosplay-guides/ We hope that helps!
> We are excited to announce that Metro Exodus is out now on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 [...] And to make things even better, it’s a free upgrade for current owners.
>Also, Metro Exodus don't call it ray tracing, it's literally referred to as RTX. I'm aware they aren't the same thing.
That may have been the case when the game launched in February 2019 as there were no AMD cards that supported ray tracing then but with AMD RT support they call it ray tracing now on Metro Exodus web site: https://www.metrothegame.com/PCSpecs/
Here it is written If you have already purchased or own Metro Exodus, you should see a separate Library Item for the Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition
but I cannot see separate library item in my library
Nope , consumer RTX2070 is fast enough for 1080p/60fps + high settings. BUT you can activate dlss which should let you max out the game. Maybe you have to use rtx high instead of ultra or 1-2 settings not on extreme , because you wont see the difference anyway because of stream quality. Most games have settings that barely do anything but reduce the performance quite a lot.
I think gfn is somewhere between a 2070 and 2080 (server 2080d). It should run a bit better than your current metro exodus version (better optmized, better dlss) , most of the time gfns cpu is the problem and not the gpu.
I haven't played Exodus, I'm thinking of saving it til I finally get my hands on an 3000 series card and see it for the first time with all the ray traced eye candy on! Not to mention the enhanced edition is coming out in not too long, if you haven't heard that news yet
Hey guys, these can all be downloaded from the Official Metro Exodus Community Survival Cache (along with loads of other assets!)
They published an update on their general future plans in 2020, in which they mentioned that they're working on a fourth game.
https://www.metrothegame.com/news/the-future-of-metro-4a-games-reveal-their-plans-for-the-series/
The Enhanced version requires RTX GPU and provides improved performance and graphics. Link
4A games has said they will deliver a true single player metro experience, however they are exploring a multiplayer component that will fit in into the metro universe. If u havent read their statement here it is. I dont see anything wrong with 4A games giving us a badass single player campaign and a new multiplayer component.

Hi! We need more detail. What is the error you get? Which version did you download? 2019, Mac, linux or PC Enhanced? We would suggest checking minimum specs at https://www.metrothegame.com/pcspecs and making sure all of your drivers and OS are up to date too.
So do you mean you stopped playing before the enhanced edition came out? Cause it only came out like 2 weeks ago.
If so and you went from regular to enhanced edition then what you are saying sounds right. The only save transfer on series x is on chapter. So if you used to play on regular and now play on enhanced that’s all you’ll get. They suggested to wait to move over until you get to the next chapter.
https://www.metrothegame.com/news/metro-exodus-out-now-on-xbox-series-xs-and-playstation-5/
https://www.metrothegame.com/news/metro-exodus-out-now-on-xbox-series-xs-and-playstation-5/
>There is no save transfer on PlayStation, but no one ever regretted playing it more than once!
>We added a Chapter Unlock feature to both the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 console versions, for players who do not want to play through again, but want to see a particular level with the new features. This provides a default set of equipment and resources at the start of the selected chapter. Achievements are turned off for the save slot when the unlock button is pressed. However we highly recommend you play through again, to get the best experience, and maybe a different ending.
Everyone get the Enhanced edition, it's comes with the standard base game, and gold edition, also meant for those that have RTX cards so if you got one, then you want to download Enhanced version, as all they did was redo the lighting effects using Ray tracing, DLSS support, and etc which non RTX cards can't make use of at all.
https://www.metrothegame.com/news/metro-exodus-pc-enhanced-out-now/
The minimum gpu requirement is a 2060, I don’t believe they specifically go into what cpus are the best but they mention the core count at least, I would 1000% recommend to get back into it, I after I couldn’t play the enhanced edition I went to the normal game again and played though it again because I personally love it and have gotten hooked back into the metro franchise, I will edit this comment with the recommended specs for the enhanced edition
Don't worry GFN missed that too.
The article you linked (and we all get exited to ) was posted on 29 April.
GFN didn't know their Windows Server 2016 do not support update 20 H2 till the moment they try to install Metro EE.
The requirement specs for the Metro EE was reveal on 12 April.
https://www.metrothegame.com/assets/Uploads/PC-SPECS-ENHANCED-FINAL.png
Literally EVERY raytracing effect from the enhanced PC version is present in the next gen version of Metro Exodus on PS5/XSX/XSS except advanced raytraced reflections, which in a game like Metro with more rusty surfaces and less shiny surfaces is totally fine. Per pixel raytracing, GI with infinite bounces, raytraced emissive surfaces, etc all are present console
Now, tbf, they definitely would've toned down the effects compared to PC, especially considering the game is going to run at 1440p-4k 60fps. But still, I do feel like its going to be the most next gen raytracing showcase on console. Games like Ratchet and Clank: rift apart or Miles Morales only have raytraced reflections, which are pretty impressive and mostly noticeable which is why insomniac has only implemented that and spent the rest of the budget on other stuff like particle effects and performance but Metro being a game with a dynamic time of day(unlike static ones in both insomniac games), and having less reflective surfaces, raytraced GI, bounced lighting, etc is better suited.
From the developers themselves. The chart at the bottom that compares console features to PC
Jury's out so far. Metro Exodus has been on Stadia and recently released on Linux/Vulkan.
On the other hand, Cyberpunk 2077 is also on Stadia and hasn't released for Linux. But then CDPR has a business arrangement with Microsoft as well including special ability to ship a D3D12 game for Windows 7.
I am talking about Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition though and according to this they don't tick the RT Reflections Box..
>A FULLY RAY TRACED EXPERIENCE FOR NEXT GEN CONSOLES AND PC
>We have built an all-new Fully Ray Traced Lighting Pipeline that brings a number of optimizations, upgrades, and new features to the Ray Traced Global Illumination and Emissive Lighting that we pioneered with the original release of Metro Exodus, as well as an upgraded implementation of our powerful Temporal Reconstruction technology to further boost resolution, visual detail and performance.
>And we’ve pushed these enhancements to the limit to take advantage of the latest Ray Tracing capable GPU hardware from NVIDIA and AMD, to create the ultimate version for our PC enthusiast fans.
>Here we will share some more details on what you can expect from the upgrade, including visual and performance enhancements, DualSense Haptic Feedback support and a new FOV slider option. We also have an update on the PC Mac and Linux Versions that we know some of you have been patiently waiting for.
Also,
https://twitter.com/MetroVideoGame/status/1387456326255710215?s=20
The ray tracing features for PS5 and the new PC version are listed in the update page on Metro's website.
It seems to have more advanced ray tracing then back when I played it on PC at launch.
Laugh now cry later?
Its already happening m8. Games that require RT as a minimum, good luck with your 16xx whatever.
Most of the info I'm aware of is in this article from them:
They don't explicitly state that the enhanced edition will be available on Mac/Linux, and based on how they phrased it, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see it on those. They basically describe the PC Enhanced Edition, state "this PC Enhanced Edition will be FREE to all existing Metro Exodus owners on the Epic Games Store, Steam and GoG.", and then move onto the Mac/Linux versions where they never refer to the Enhanced Edition. They never refer to the Mac App Store as being a place to get the upgrade either, which doesn't prove anything but just seems to line up better with the pessimistic answer.
So... I dunno. ¯\(ツ)/¯ It is weird if it doesn't come to Mac/Linux for the reason you mentioned, but maybe they decided to give it to some newer devs as an intro project or something.
Firstly, it's on the own developer's blog.
Secondly, your comparison doesn't work. Minecraft RTX is fully path traced, where everything is ray traced, 99,9% of the games are rasterized. Path tracing right now is super expensive and only simple games can be rendering with that, like Minecraft and Quake 2 RTX. It's hard as well to compare PC GPUs to consoles because consoles are always going to have a advantage because how low level their APIs are.
RT GI is RT lighting, and it's the heaviest implementation of RT (outside of path tracing) right now.
And they are releasing a remastered version of it! I'm so hyped for it because it boasts even more improved RT effects, DLSS 2.0 and other goodies as well
oh and its free for all who own Metro Exodus.

If your in NA then its still cheaper at fanatical because of no taxes. It may be possible to use their 5%off coupon you get with prior purchases, but mine had expired so I coudn't try. They are also releasing an enhanced edition that will improve ray tracing and support dlss 2.0 and will be free to existing owners. Details here
> 100% RT is what Pixar is doing. Stop re-defining words
I don't know why you're doubting me? They are literally making a fully ray-traced game. Look here: https://www.metrothegame.com/news/the-metro-exodus-pc-enhanced-edition-announced-plus-more-details-on-our-ambitious-gen-9-console-upgrades/
UE5's Lumen looks to be a great solution however it doesn't have quite the same flexibility or quality of standard DXR. It takes longer for lighting to update, and its only for global illumination (and shadows?), not reflections. There are SSR artifacts in that very video.
That's correct.
In their blog post, they said "later this year." I would not expect the PS5 version before summer, unfortunately. Elsewhere in the blog post, they say that the PC Enhanced version comes out in Spring, so the fact that they say "Spring" for PC and "later this year" for the console versions probably means we'll have to wait.
Yeah, I question it too—but they're the ones making the claim. (Source)
I suppose the "Next-gen Temporal Reconstruction Technology" in the chart at the bottom must be implying their (proprietary?) upsampling. Any chance you know any more about that or have any sources? I'm looking, but not finding much.
6900XT is a great GPU, you won't have to upgrade until the next console generation.
Honestly, looking at the feature list on the full blog I would have totally paid $10-15 more for this.
It's using their next gen engine, and will be a whole new install. I am HYPED for this!
They updated the article.in this. Says now series s is 60fps
Metro Exodus will be receiving a next-gen update, which will be free for existing owners:
https://www.metrothegame.com/news/the-future-of-metro-4a-games-reveal-their-plans-for-the-series/
There are no news about Redux receiving an update with the new consoles. Only Exodus has been confirmed.
More information about Exodus and the update can be found here: https://www.metrothegame.com/news/the-future-of-metro-4a-games-reveal-their-plans-for-the-series/
They are making a new Metro! Can read more about it here: https://www.metrothegame.com/news/the-future-of-metro-4a-games-reveal-their-plans-for-the-series/
As far as your idea.
In Sam's Story: >!Apparently they started to domesticate the humanimals. So, technically, could be possible.!<
But I personally don't think that'll happen as that'd be one less hostile enemy that you'd be able to fight.
They had to rollback the removal of Denuvo/recent patch due to some issues... I don't know if they've re-applied the fix , and if the re-applied fix is the one used here on this release.
https://www.metrothegame.com/news/patch-notes-pc-hotfix
Hey now, that was a straight insult to halo. I hate the underhanded tactics of bungie as much as the next guy...but raging will not fix a thing. Bungie does not care if you (a solitary soul) leaves. Now if more people opened their eyes and threatened to leave like you said, they would have no choice but to make an actual effort to make the game fun again. Don't leave just yet, wait and see what they introduce next season. If you still feel the same, then leaving is probably for the best. Have you ever played Metro Exodus? The new expansion is wicked, and it's a real looter shooter lol. https://www.metrothegame.com/news/sams-story/
Well that depends, are you a pve or pvp focu-...wait nvm, the answer is no. You ever play Metro Exodus? The new expansion is wicked, try that out. https://www.metrothegame.com/news/sams-story/
I was very hopeful it would be in a box similar to the witcher 3 considering all the physical extras it is supposed to come with. Did you get anything besides just the game?

its all on cart for anyone wondering

The ultimate double game collection includes the definitive editions of both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, including all DLC content on the 16GB cart.
It being a polygon article has no bearing on its authenticity,
> “Epic’s generous revenue terms are a game changer that will allow publishers to invest more into content creation, or pass on savings to the players,” Deep Silver CEO Dr. Klemens Kundratitz said.
Nowhere in the article does it state that epic dictated the prices, nor on the official release either.
Evidence? You've shown zero evidence that there is a policy at epic that developers or publishers are prevented from setting their own prices. You just went from "All exclusives are 50!" to now only Metro is. If all I have to do to refute your points is open a store, then theres a good chance that your argument is bull.
You made the claim, you can't back it up. What would change my mind?
Actual evidence
" The second piece of DLC, Sam’s Story, coming to players in early 2020, is the brand new sandbox survival level based on Vladivostok. Sam, a US marine at the Moscow embassy before the bombs were dropped, has long dreamed of returning to his homeland, and maybe finding his family alive. The prospect seemed impossible in the darkened tunnels of the Metro, but when the Spartans discovered that Moscow was not the only city left alive after the war, holding out hope didn’t feel so foolish anymore.
Sam makes his way away from the Aurora in search of a way back to the USA, arriving at the remains of Vladivostok’s tsunami ravaged harbours, ruined industrial buildings, and crumbling residential districts. To complete his journey, Sam will discover that he needs every tactic he has learned so far to survive, as his surroundings prove to be far trickier than expected.
Players will forge Sam's path through the sandbox survival landscape of Vladivostok, as they take a brand new journey across the wasteland of post-apocalyptic Russia."
According to 4A - https://www.metrothegame.com/news/patch-notes-pc-hotfix/ - a hotfix has been deployed regarding this issue.
I'm currently playing on PC, through game pass, but the version is still the previous one. And I have no idea how to manually update the game. Have been googling, but so far, nothing.
I don't believe it's the same bear.
Taiga bear has a lot more fur, and it's colour is closer to true brown. It also roams around without any offsprings, so it definitely isn't a female.
Last Light bear has no visible fur and its colouring is a sickly yellow-brown.
You could just attribute this to better graphical fidelity between the two games. But I think this is a conscious effort to make them distinct. Because even though they couldn't make the gargoyles fully fur covered in Last Light, they did give them patches of fur to indicate they had fur. And that isn't the case with LL bear.
Please use this thread to discuss the eagerly anticipated 'The Two Colonels' DLC for Metro Exodus. Gamescom is just 20 days away at the time of writing.
The Metro Exodus DLC Roadmap is available here.
The devs put out an asset pack of other wallpapers/screens recently too if anyone missed it: https://www.metrothegame.com/news/community-survival-cache/
If you want to see the different pictures, go to Metrothegame.com and click on World to get to the different seasons. Or here is the link to the spring season, from there you can go to all the others. The different pictures are on each page for each season. They make for cool wallpapers.
Metro Exodus did the same thing and by playing the game I can say that those measurements were pretty good and accurate.
That being said they don't really account for optimization and are just mere speculations I'd say. There's much guesswork involved with writing those requirements for every game and the best options we have are either have a beast machine or just wait for benchmanks if we can.
No details on the patch except they will be adding even more control fixes in the official patch. march 4th the hot fix will start coming out, hopefully right away but you know consoles and the certification but it will be follow by a patch later next week. Maybe Thursday?
I think it is a leak information but not completly fake . According to patch notes realsed for Metro Exodus and the way Nvidia explained it, they need to tweak the sharpness of DLSS and train the AI more so its go to move isnt blurring things if it cant "understand".

>The less source data, the greater the challenge for DLSS to detect features in the input frame and predict the final frame.
>We have seen the screenshots and are listening to the community’s feedback about DLSS at lower resolutions, and are focusing on it as a top priority. We are adding more training data and some new techniques to improve quality, and will continue to train the deep neural network so that it improves over time.
This was noted in the Day One patch notes:
It's not though, it's now competing with proper TAA implementations. That's what the Port Royal benchmark shows.

No mention of platform specific preorder bonuses ?

Because I noticed that happening with Metro Exodus.
Xbone: You get Metro Redux
PS4: You get a dynamic PS4 dashboard theme. If you preorder the gold edition, you get a second theme and the OST
PC: You get a digital artbook and the OST.

What did Microsoft do to get the worst preorder bonus on the Xbone ?
No, you're correct. It's the other reply to your comment that's wrong.
