Happy cake day! You can spoof the MAC address on a PC or run a VM image I reckon, it's more likely they track through cookies or identifiable stuff like IP address ranges, canvas sizes, etc.
I use a VPN no matter what I am doing online.
TMAC is a free piece of simple software that will change the MAC Address of your machine.
A VPN removes the license plate on your internet traffic "car" and tints the windows. TMAC makes your "car" look like a different make and model vehicle. https://technitium.com/tmac/
> you can't spoof a MAC address.
Yes you can.
Using t Mac MAC address changer helps prolong your free trial with these guys. It filters based on MAC address so as long as you change it at the end of each trial period, you can reconnect again with a new trial period.
This is correct. VPNs use more bandwidth than direct connections due to the encrypted traffic generating more connection activity.
If your school's network uses the MAC address of your device to track usage, you could try spoofing your Wi-Fi interface's MAC address using a tool like Technitium's freeware MAC address changer (https://technitium.com/tmac/) on Windows.
You download it, open the program, select your Wi-Fi adapter at the top list, click the "Random MAC Address" button, and presto, your device looks like a brand new device to the network.
This will also work for Ethernet connections. Just select the wired connection instead of Wi-Fi before randomizing.
If you're not on Windows, there are apps on macOS and Linux that can do the same thing. Of course, you can always manually change the MAC address on any of the OSes.
If your school uses some sort of login system to track usage, this may not work, but it's worth a shot. It's even good from a privacy perspective as the network traffic is likely logged based on MAC address, and if yours is constantly changing it makes it that much harder to correlate.
A while ago when I didn't have internet, I just wrote a python script to change my mac address and then signup for a free 1 hour trial for a xfinity wifi AP with a randomly generated email and zip code, then sleep for 55 minutes and change my mac address again and repeat the process. Worked pretty well.
You can do it pretty easily using selenium (browser automation framework), with a bit more effort using chrome/firefox tools you can see what is actually sent to the the service provider when you signup for a free trial and then just use their API (using python requests library), its a bit faster and more resilient to changes in the pages html but more difficult to figure out.
If you go the selinum route, I suggest using css selectors, i found that thoses broke less frequently. For windows you can use tmac for changing your mac. (Select the option to start mac with 0x02). If you run linux then use macchanger, although if you are using network manager, then you will need to use network managers cli to set the cloned mac addreses (macchanger will be overwritten and won't work).
As one user has already said, use a secure OS like Tails. If that's above your skill of proficiency, here is some tips.
1.) Download, install, and run TMAC v6
2.) Get a paid VPN service with zero logging policy and connect to any server but one in the US/UK due to their 5 Eyes presence.
3.) Do not use passwords that you normally use. Install a password generator that stores your keys locally. Absolutely no saving to the cloud. 4.) Browse safely and securely.
You should brush up on learning basic Linux distros. It will be your guidepost to learning how TAILS works as well as insight into other distros of Linux.
You can use https://technitium.com/tmac/ for windows. I used it when it was easier to get around comcast limiter. Another thing is they will also block you when you use too much bandwidth. So don't expect to be streaming a movie that might just also get you blocked
what makes you think they haven't already gotten your mac address from the logs?
Unless you've been running something like Mac Changer for the last 6 months or so just give it to them, unless you are going to keep your system to the changed address you provide.
Going a step further, your corporate network should not have personal systems on the same network, and each should be using a different external IP to assist in this and other issues.
IF i was facing this, I would change my external IP for my corporate network to a new IP in my /28
Depending on the implementation of this landing page, you could set up your computer to spoof the MAC Address of your 3DS and log in from there. If this is being handled by whitelisting "approved" devices by their MAC Address that should then allow your 3DS to connect properly after that.
After you've authenticated on your computer you'll want to reset your MAC Address back to its default.
Keep in mind that MAC is physical address and you cannot change it permamently. It resets, when you reboot your pc so you will have to change it each time
That’s why it’s best to get software that does that for you, instead of going to device manager each time. Try this on your laptop: https://technitium.com/tmac/
I’ve never done that on Iphone but you could check this guide or search for something similar, just google „how to spoof mac address on iphone”: https://mashtips.com/change-mac-address-iphone/
Also, I don’t guarantee this will work. It might or it might not. Depends on how does this router block you.
If this is on PC, use this to spoof your MAC address. You can find a lot of other spoofers online if you're using another device. Make sure to change your physical Wifi address only or else it won't work.
It basically tells the wifi that a different device is connected and therefore shouldn't be blocked.
Use a ESP8266 with WiFi Deauther Code on it or simply buy one. These are pretty simple to configure and will throw any device you want out of the WiFi.
Regarding the MAC Filtering, use MAC address spoofing Some phones even come with it built in.
It depends how the WiFi works exactly, if it's whitelists MAC addresses then you could find someone with a Chromebooks MAC address and spoof yours to be the same, so you get given access to the network
You can spoof your Mac address using this: https://technitium.com/tmac/
Not sure if this will work for anyone else, but I had this issue and managed to fix it using a MAC address spoofer (I used https://technitium.com/tmac/) and a spoofed MAC address with 02
as the first octet.
Edit: I also have Circle on my network, see the updated OP for a less-hacky solution.
That's not quite how it works.
I'm pretty sure that he doesn't block your internal IP address, he blocks your MAC address. A MAC address is a unique identifier given to each individual piece of hardware to tell what they are. The IP address your router gives you is only for the router to use and can change depending on what's connected to the network at what time.
There are two options that I can see you using in this situation:
1) Try using a piece of software to change your MAC address. For Windows, I recommend TMAC. There's instructions if you scroll down the page on how to use it. Choose the connection which has data throughput shown on the graph. If you use an Apple device, ~~get Windows or Linux you plonk~~ try MACSpoofer. If you use Linux, then it differs with your distro.
2) If this doesn't work (hell, use this with the above too if you like), the best solution to permanently eradicate this issue is to reset the router to it's default settings. Depending on your make of router, this may differ. Most routers involve holding the reset button down on it for 15 seconds or so. Google your router make with "factory reset". Make sure to use this whilst he's out, though. Then login with the default login and change the default login to something he would not guess, set it up as it was before with the same SSID and Wi-Fi password (if you changed them) and voilà!
Coba cek LAN pake laptop lain atau device lain. Kalau sama-sama lambat, berarti memang dibatasi. Kalau device lain kenceng, berarti laptopmu yang bermasalah. Lanjut step 2.
Kalo tetep lambat, berarti dibatasi.
Coba spoof mac address pake https://technitium.com/tmac/
Let's see: if you're not using TAILS/Tor, "best practices" would include VirtualBox, Sandboxie, TMAC, a VPN, NoScript, uBlock Origin, Ghostery, HTTPS Everywhere, Disable WebRTC, RefControl, CanvasBlock and a new Reddit ID every 7-14 days?
Did I miss anything? lol
Ok so i've got an answer from Brad "Mutato" Wilcox through the ticket system after contacting him on twitter. According to him my ban was caused because of a program on my pc called : TMAC v6.0 https://technitium.com/tmac/ It is a program which allows you to change your MAC address, now i'm not a techy, but for all I know changing your MAC address is not cheating whatsoever. (If one of you knows more about this please enlighten me) Anyway OP, do you have that particular program or something similar installed ?
A Firefox browser augmented with https://ffprofile.com/ and altered via about:config and with a few extra extensions in unison with a VPN (I recommend Proton VPN) and windows telemetry and data collecting disabled.
Of course, using a virtual machine and altering your MAC address via command line or this freeware helps as well.
This works on Windows, and Might work for your OS, take a look at this, It allows you to Use a Random Mac Address and change it when you want, https://technitium.com/tmac/ For Security reasons I Recommend Changing it at least once.
If you pay for a VPN, so long as it isn't just a browser extension, it will cover all of your PC/device's network traffic. You can change your MAC address using TMAC (use this before you connect to the VPN).
You could spoof MAC address. That is only if they actually ID you by you MAC.
I used this on an international bus that had limited wifi usage. You got like 500MB on a 9 hour ride.
> If the captive portal is linked to a username and password your kinda SOL. Most captive portals are linked to a username and MAC address of your equipment. If its just linked to your device MAC that is something you can easily change or "spoof" there are many applications that allow you change your MAC address on Windows and Mac OSX. There is a number of ways I can think of getting around this as well. If there is another network like a management network you have all the time in the world to capture and get into that unfiltered connection.
Guys, I'm just putting this out there, if your parents ever block your internet at a certain time on the computer, it uses the mac address and you can use this software to change it really easily if you don't wanna go through all your control panel settings or the mac address settings don't show for you like they don't for me
my mom got mad at me for being up late and blocked it sooo i had to resort to other software lmfaoo
edit: after posting this comment, i read it, and i sound like a bot 💀
Hello, i had the same issue a year ago and here is how u can bypass it.
Download the application: MacAdressChanger, change ur mac adress using this app and that's it
Link of the the app: https://technitium.com/tmac/
If u are having trouble, look a tjis tutorial: https://youtu.be/eK7BtOu3hws
Use TMAC to spoof your MAC address, connect to xfinitywifi, navigate to the login screen, click on a pass, choose "Complimentary Hour Pass", register an account with garbage info, and activate pass.
Rinse and repeat.
If you really want to use a Google home, you should just get your own router. If you connect your Google home directly to the college Wi-Fi then anyone will be able to play whatever they want on it. If you really want to connect it to the wifi, what you can do is use a MAC address spoofer like this one for Windows to spoof the MAC address of the Google home. If your college Wi-Fi is like any other public Wi-Fi, after you accept the agreement once it should just allow a device to connect without accepting it again.
I work in payment processing. The reportdng a card lost/stolen will not guarantee that Amazon can't link you to their account. Chances are exceptionally high that they have some sort of account updater that will link the new card. Your best bet is to use a 3rd party VCC (privacy.com in the US is great) at all times as they are not linked to account updater software. Start asap.
Address verification systems in the US and Canada only look for the numerical portion of the street address and the zip code.
Both the above can be bypassed with a new billing address, such as a mailbox service.
On the side, MAC address can technically be altered to allow for a computer to be used again. Technitium has served me well in the past for alternative uses.
Try this. I dodged an IP mute this way. Others here may be able to vouch. It’s been a while, so I forget how the process works, but I remember there being multiple tutorials on YouTube.
I've always used Mac Address Changer - https://technitium.com/tmac/.
Your school's network may only allow one device with the same MAC address at a time (kicking off your other device(s) or not allowing a new device with the same MAC to connect.
Have fun!
I'd be willing to bet it's based on Mac address as well. Pick up an alpha external USB. Additionally if you wanted to attempt to see if it was strictly the MAC address, see below. https://technitium.com/tmac/
this helped me so i think it would help u.
tbh I came here to find help to bypass this same problem but on the PS4 ( not relatable in any way but whatever)
If your on a PC, you can just change your MAC Address. it works but if your dad is tech savvy then its only temporary. If your willing to go into outright defiance you could just keep changing it but after a few times he will know whats up. here's a tool to change it on PC. https://technitium.com/tmac/
It doesn't need to be complicated to change your MAC address on a PC. For example, you can just download this program for Windows and change your MAC address with 2 button clicks.
Tell me more about this unlimited usage spot. How do you connect to it? What does it do?
Anyways, for the Xfinity thing, the easy way on a Windows computer is to download a tool like this.
You'll now appear as a different computer.
You can automate this process on Linux by writing a bash script, and using curl generate the automated requests.
I did that because I had a bandwidth cap, and put my Linux ISO server on the free trial wifi so it wouldn't count against my cap.
On Windows, you might be able to change it in your Wi-Fi adapter's settings. If not, you can use this: https://technitium.com/tmac/
On MacOS, follow the steps here: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/151986/change-mac-address-in-os-x-yosemite
Have you tried manipulating the MAC address and then plugging it back into the same port?
Example: https://technitium.com/tmac/
Does Windows loose the IP association, self assign an address or set it to 0.0.0.0?
If you are using a laptop, download and use this tool to change your wifi mac address.
Once you've done that, you can use the wifi labeled "xfinitiy Wifi" as much as you want. Only drawback is once the free hour pass expires, you'll have to disconnect from the network, click a button on that tool to change your mac address, then use a new login.
Sounds like a lot of work, but it's not. just register a bullshit email address using the autopop up xfinity website and don't bother actually creating it through gmail or yahoo or whatever domain name you use.
This is much better than using the shit wifi at starbucks or at any of the bars. You can sit at the farmers market all day using the internet there to work on a report or whatever.
I don't know if this will work in your case, but I've also encountered this problem before. You can use TMAC Address Changer, which spoofs your MAC Address.
Instructions can be found on the main page of the site.
E: You should click on "WIFI" in the information tab before clicking Random MAC Address and then Change Now.
Try spoofing your MAC address to get the wifi login page. https://technitium.com/tmac/
If you can get the login page then its your mac address that the problem. If you cant get the login page with different mac addresses then its the gateway. Youll have to find another gateway to connect to. Which is hard to do cause if its the strongest signal you will always connect to that one first.
It seems that your comment contains 1 or more links that are hard to tap for mobile users. I will extend those so they're easier for our sausage fingers to click!
Here is link number 1 - Previous text "How"

How I got their wifi for free before considering AT&T.
If you have Xfinity trial wifi in your area, they lock you out after 1 hr based on mac address like any old coffee shop. Technium is what I used to auto-change my mac addr and get free Starbucks/Xfinity wifi.
Yes, I did this all the time, got wifi from them 24/7. Not a hack or anything but there is a quick app on Windows that autoed it so you won't have to mess with registry. They can't legally arrest for changing your mac address (probably won't be able to trace you in the first place).
Honestly; If you're stupid enough to go balls to the wall on your own account and a non-masked, non VPN, or non HTTPS site, then you deserve whatever ya get lmao. (Goes for any of us)
What I would do, since we seem to be suggesting ways to beat the system, is to follow a couple steps. 1. Download TMAC v6 https://technitium.com/tmac/ 2.VPN - be careful to use one that is/has good reviews 3. OPSEC. Don't go bragging about how you beat the system; people snitch. 4. HTTPS Everywhere/ Privacy Badger 5. snag someone else's login? Shoulder surf? Look through the trash? Use anything you have and twist it to your advantage 6. the list goes on, OP.
My suggestion: If you REALLY MUST look up dark web/a 10 pound stash of MDMA for a sex slave/midget porn for personal uses (I call bullshit if you tell me no ;) ) use a burner laptop, a wifi spot you'll never see again, and a good ol' copy of tails on a LIVE CD.
A mí me pasa lo mismo, y lo que me funciona es cambiar el Mac Adress con este programa después de reiniciar el modem, aunque aveces ni falta hace. Si no tienes opciones y estás desesperado, prueba con eso, a ver si te sirve.
It's calculated roughly every 30 minutes but that's not terribly important.
What you need to do to get around the limit is download some kind of MAC address changer or script it if you're on mac/linux and change your mac when you start to get throttled.
Warning though, they do monitor usage via port number and if you use more than around 6 new addresses in about 24 or 48 hours you'll get an email warning. A few years ago I was able to cycle between about 12 diff addresses and get away with it so YMMV.
CLOSE GLYPH THEN:
1) Download MAC addres changer software from here https://technitium.com/tmac/
2) Change your current MAC to anyother from the list.
3) If you are connected trough a wirelles router, go to the settings page of the router and clone the new mac from your pc to your router.
4) Go to cmd and run the following commands, first ipconfig /release, then ipconfig /flushdns and last ipconfig /renew
5) Go the route C/User/(youruser)/AppData/Local and look for "Glyph" folder and delete it.
6) Run glyph again your problem should be solved.
Quite possibly, but you would need to make sure the vpn also changes your MAC address too, otherwise Steam might detect network inconsistencies and interrupt your download. Though I am not really sure if Steam cross references physical addresses with IP addresses.
EDIT: Here's a link to a MAC address changer. I'm not really sure any of what you are planning on doing will actually work, but I am curious to find out. Let me know what happens.
For the safety of your main steam accounts I recommend you guys use a VPN, like cyberghost.
I also recommend you alter the mac address of your wifi device. You can do so by using a mac address switcher, which can temporarily or permanently alter your mac address.
It can be found here: https://technitium.com/tmac/
