I am connected to a Japanese server using SaferVPN, but still can't play the game. I tried restarting steam, setting my PC location to Japan, disabled my authenticator, and reinstalled but still says I can't play yet. Any ideas what the solution might be?
Update : changing my password solved it!
First I went to the top left of steam and hit exit. Opened my NordVPN and connected to Japan. Disabled Steam Authenticator on my mobile Steam app. Then signed out of my mobile steam app. Reopened steam and Sekiro then said play and finished unpacking.
That’s everything I did.
The fusion pro controller. Makes playing games like this so much more enjoyable. Highly recommend. PowerA Fusion Pro Wired Controller for Xbox One - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XQXQMR9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_uoO0Fb1DBV22W?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Depending on the game and platform, you may need to use the ds4windows program. (http://ds4windows.com/)
The only issue is that some games don't display the dualshock 4 icons and default to displaying the Xbox's, but that's rarely that much of a problem.
Sorry didnt read ps4. Heres an attachment that only gives you 2 extra buttons DualShock 4 Back Button Attachment - PlayStation 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082VX16VJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_erO0Fb5HTQWE3
Xbox has more options, there are some for PlayStation but the best ive seen is close to 150 usd
Yea, nobody knows for sure yet. You can set up an alert with Amazon on the product page to be notified when it becomes available.
It's important to note tho, that the "Collector's Edition" is apparently only available through GameStop (in the US).
Small tangent, but one of these giant ass centipedes was once a problem in ancient japan. At least, the stories tell such.
At mount mikami, above the shintoist mikami shrine, was a giant centipede. One of the court bureaucrats, Fujiwara no Hidesato, became legendary by slaying this centipede:
Whether or not this actually happened is of course open to interpretation, but if you go by the samurai legends, it was a real thing that happened.
I had this happen to both bumpers on my Elite controller, but it's actually a cheap fix. For $10 on amazon you can buy this kit, find a quick guide on Youtube, and fix it yourself.
Bam, good as new.
Afraid I'm not comfortable with that, but the relevant information is on pages 42-45, if you can get access to a copy. Currently on sale on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Sekiro-Shadows-Twice-Official-Guide/dp/3869930942/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1O8FML7V6Z47E&dchild=1&keywords=sekiro+official+guide&qid=1597961736&sprefix=sekiro+offici%2Caps%2C315&sr=8-1
Working with TunnelBear!!! Unpacking right now.
Exit Steam, disable authenticator on your phone app if you have it, then log out of the phone app. Connect to Japan via VPN, open Steam, and it should work.

Why not just get goty edition… If you are really looking for the regular version, here
You can get playstation controllers that are shaped like xbox controllers. Like this
I know this is six months old, but I just came across this post tonight and thought you might be interested in this book:

Delete the sekiro.exe file and verify local files again. It should then re-download the exe without the ultrawide screen fix. There is also a "go back to original" patch that you can get from the same thread.
Link to the thread and other fixes can be found here:

True. First playthrough took me 25 hours, while my first playthrough in Dark Souls 3 took me 48 hours. Dark Souls 3 was also harder to me, but still. The average length of the game is quite a bit shorter according to HLTB aswell.

The last of us part II is being discounted at 15 euros during Black Friday sales. Actual proof: The Last of Us 2 - Playstation 4 https://www.amazon.it/dp/B07DLS9N8V/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_K6NAZFZXBPZ0WT2TCRWF
GOTY IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT PRICE.
The only reason for that price is because Activision. Not even FROM SOFTWARE fault since all Dark Souls titles are being sold TOGETHER for less than 50 euros in the Dark Souls trilogy bundle and they get often individually discounted for less than 20 euros.
According to one guy at nexusmods.com , you have 9 i-frames for the forward dodge only, 6 i-frames for the sideways and backwards dodges, and 3 i-frames for jumps in any direction. The deflection window starts from 15 frames and shrinks down to 3 even (which is why Genichiro's and Isshin Ashina's big combo is so hard to deflect, no one really tries to deflect it fully)
If you buy the game on PC, you can mod it, the place to find mods is nexusmods.com. But I have not seen any mod yet that changes AI routines in Sekiro, probably the closest you can modify (dynamically? if using learning stuff) would be the parameters available (there's a mod for that that you would have to study). On the other hand, there are Dark Souls 3 mods that have in their description that they "change boss fights" and have "enemy AI changed", so maybe if you contact the authors of such DS mods and/or reverse engineer their modifications, you can infer what files to change and how ... and then you have to add deep learning to the mix, which is another level of difficulty entirely. *If* you already know deep learning, know your way around interacting with game data or even binaries, and also know to write code, ... then it would be, probably, doable; otherwise ...
Okay, so what isn't mentioned by the original poster about the ds4windows you need to have is that it must not be anything1.7.x and above (current latest is 1.7.2 as of writing. It has something to do with his new implementation of VIGEMbus). I tested all the recommendations and it didn't work for 1.7.2 so I switched into 1.6.1.4 (Link: https://github.com/Ryochan7/DS4Windows/releases/tag/v1.6.14) which uses SCP instead of VIGEM. Closed steam and turned off the overlay of Nvidia Geforce experience as recommended and BAM it works.
TL;DR DS4WINDOWS 1.7.X and above doesn't work for sekiro download ds4Windows 1.6.1.4 instead. Link is below. I hope this is an actual definitive fix. ENJOY GUYS :)
Don't expose yourself to unnecessary suffering.
Get a PS4 controller if you don't already have one, and use it with DS4Windows.
Alternatively,
I got it to work, only the control prompts are for the xbox.
1.) Download this version of DS4Windows. The original creator of the app stopped working on it, so somebody else took over and it has frequent updated.
2.) Close all apps that might use the controller (Such as steam). In DS4Windows, go under settings and check "Hide DS4 Controller".
3.) Plug in/connect your DS4 controller and hopefully it works.

Hey IDK if you've found a fix, but download this and run the game in windowed mode. Then go into the program, right click on Sekiro, and select "make boarderless." It'll run in boarderless windowed and should eliminate screen tearing.

This is the same countdown that I get on ps4 after buying the pre-sale :D
I’m playing Sekiro through a cloud gaming service called Shadow. I have a 100+MB wired internet connection and there’s very little lag, I Just beat Genichiro and Guardian Ape on NG+2. might be an idea while you save up for that PC.
Hey, I know people follow my Reddit. I'll be on Gab now. I've had enough of the censorship everywhere. https://gab.com/Wifflum#
I'm still trying to find my subreddit which apparently exists, but Reddit in general has horrible people on it.
Talk to me on Gab. It'll be unrestrained so don't just step in it like you get away with here, protected by mommy censor.
The regular edition is discontinued, you're looking for the GOTY edition:
Oof. The Barnes and Noble near me doesn't have GameInformer, so I called a different location, and they don't have it either.
Tried calling a couple more local bookstores around me, and nobody carries GameInformer!!
I'm out of ideas. Maybe when it actually goes to print then you can buy it on Amazon directly from GameInformer before it sells out. (They apparently had Jan 2019 up for sale at some point here.) Ebay seems to have a couple copies of Jan 2019 so maybe that's an option too in a week or two.
Good luck friends...

(Amazon Japan has the Xbox One version of Sekiro up for pre-order.)[https://www.amazon.co.jp/SEKIRO-SHADOWS-%E3%80%90%E4%BA%88%E7%B4%84%E7%89%B9%E5%85%B8%E3%80%91%E7%89%B9%E5%88%A5%E4%BB%95%E6%A7%98%E3%83%91%E3%83%83%E3%82%B1%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B8%E3%83%BB%E3%83%87%E3%82%B8%E3%82%BF%E3%83%AB%E3%82%A2%E3%83%BC%E3%83%88...]
I just noticed recently as well on a system with a RTX 2080Ti and a Ryzen 9 3900, sometimes the game has a tendency to drop frames in a spilt second window, i think this is due to a Buffered Loading Design, i am not into technicalities into DS3s engine, but giving From's History i doubt they are going to do anything about it, even the Consoles have certain issues with Input Registering due to the poor framerate, its just how the engine is designed to behave to the poor framerate, Dark Souls 3 is the same story, Dark Souls Remastered still has the same bugs at the OG one, From isn't exactly known to fix issues in they're games, so i doubt Sekiro will get the privileged treatment, are they perfect games, not really, but they are addictive as hell, and thoes minor issues are just a minor inconvenience.
Here, I found it on Amazon :)
https://www.amazon.com/SEKIRO-SHADOWS-Official-Artworks-Japanese/dp/4049125935
Ah that's neat. DS3 is dear to me as well simply because it's the last in the series, the story concluded beautifully, and it's the most balanced out of all the souls games.
Do you plan on picking up the others? DS2 and Bloodborne?
I haven't been using the temple combat arts enough. I have seen some absolutely gorgeous usages of Praying Strikes to interrupt certain moves, like O'rin's perilous sweep, for instance. I'm also eager to throw High Monk in since I've seen it absolutely eviscerate Isshin's posture. I'm mostly fairly straightforward, rarely use combat arts against major bosses, but now that I've become so familiar with all of them, I'm getting out of my comfort zone and trying new things.
FlyVPN has a free trial, just remember to cancel.
If pre load doesn't go up before then, it will probably be a waste of time using a free VPN, as they won't give anywhere near the speed required to download the game in a bearable timeframe.
Basically the game released early in Asia.
So you download a VPN (used to change your location/can make you appear as from Asia) and Steam lets you play the game early.
I've played 6 hours earlier than the actual EU release. Not sure if it's useful now since it's out in the EU.
For anyone interested use TunnelBear and choose Singapore as location.
It doesn't work for me i guess. Closed steam, rebooted, activated a VPN connection (location : Japan, NordVPN), opened steam, asked for password, and nope:
It still says 2 days like in my normal IP.
