It's almost impossible to brick a switch (unless you throw it in the water while powered on - roó hou, 2021). Don't buy a premodded one just an unpatched one. If you buy a already modded then I really recommend you to mod it yourself, otherwise you may be really confused as what does what and how to update things. There are many great guides and resources to learn from. I used the rentry.co guide. It's pretty easy to follow, sets you up with ban protection and sigpatches.
For guys that don't like messing around with shells I can recommend HashTab, it adds a tab to the properties of your files (right-click the file and then click properties) where you can check their hashes.
Yes it's possible with the JoyCon Droid app. It lets you use your Android's touch screen as a JoyCon or Pro Controller OR you can plug in a USB gamepad and use it that way. Currently, I've had no luck pairing my Android gamepad via Bluetooth with the app running at the same time but it does work pretty well when wired (you need a USB OTG adapter). Check out this video of it in action. In the video, a remapper app was used but after discussing with the developer, he added native USB gamepad support in the test version! It should come to the production build soon.
Please note that you do need to be running Pie for it to work, so if your device doesn't run Pie, check if you can flash a custom ROM on it.
That's misleading. The company that processes your payment is a data harvesting company, but NordVPN itself is not owned by a data harvesting service, and the VPN is relatively safe and private when compared to 90% of other VPNs that actually log your traffic. Since Nord doesn't keep logs (and that has held up in court) nord is not a bad alternative. You can definitely do worse.
v1 unpatched switches are exploited via a hardware issue wherein a payload can be injected into the switch when set into recovery mode, which is initialized by setting a jig in the right rail to press certain pins down and holding volume and power buttons at the same time...
https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy
if you're here and don't know what a jig is and what it's for, I recommend checking out all this subreddit's stickies, guides and wikis. because really before you get started, you need to read all of this guide from top to bottom. then a second time. and then a third.
like the title says, your goal is easy. but you need to be prepared and ready to handle everything before you get started, otherwise you might end up confused and messing up a step.
all of your initial questions should be answered within this guide.
I would only ever buy Samsung or Sandisk microsd cards.
Is your best bet as its super cheap, and extremely reliable.
Today and tomorrow on Amazon, if you have Amazon Prime, are the Prime Day deals.
You can get a name brand 400gb sd card for $45. Example - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074RNRM2B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_78jlDb61YP2FZ
1) most people use an emunand to keep the real nand clean and unbanned. You can run cfw and install custom content on sysnand directly but it hurts the resell value and you won’t be able to use any Nintendo services, even the free ones. Also, having an emunand is safer since it’s a sandbox. If you install something meant to ruin your system, you can just delete the emunand and make a new one. It’s easier on the switch than flashing the nand to repair it.
2) you won’t be able to (and shouldn’t be able to) access the eshop on your emunand if you set it up properly. This includes not being able to use “free” titles online either. But if you ever need to, you can boot into sysnand and download any content you need.
3) firmware can be updated manually. The files are usually available on the internet a few days from release. Usually you don’t need them until moooooonths after since most games don’t actually need the new update if you’re installing them using Tinfoil installer.
This guide can help you understand the steps you need to take: https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy
That's not an answer- well it is, but the answer is "no".
Not sure if you're implying that you're banned or not, but if you aren't (not that I know if this will even do anything now that you've downloaded an update), you should go onto the guide that's stickied on this sub and follow the guidelines on how to prevent a ban:
Edit: and to be clear, this will prevent any game from downloading an update, even if it tells you it needs one.
Unfortunately for you the only cfw that is still being updated regularly is atmosphere. If you need help you can try to follow this guide: https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy
But reinx and sxos are no longer being updated. Also, I think NS atmosphere is just a black market paid version of atmosphere. Atmosphere has always been free for anyone to use and those people just take advantage of less experienced people. Once you get used to using setting up atmosphere on your own. It’s not too bad and very easy to keep updated.
gotta recommend purchasing a jig more than other mcguyver methods. and don't get a crappy one. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07Q6YHRBM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_2EBXRGSWJB00WN8MKS4W
this one has been great and comes with a little case.
it'll make your life 100x easier and won't risk damage to the switch.
I’ve been running off of this for about a month, works great 👍 SAMSUNG EVO Select 512GB microSDXC UHS-I U3 100MB/s Full HD & 4K UHD Memory Card with Adapter (MB-ME512HA) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0887CHVFF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_Q7M3KZNHYBF0C5KJV8DB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Are you using SXOS?
How you move to a new card will depend on if you're using emuNAND or not.
If you are, here's the link to the guide on the sub https://rentry.co/EmuNANDNewSDcard
The comments in the script itself should be sufficient
># macOS Instructions:
Noted! I would only use Nord for torrenting specifically, since yeah, definitely a shady company. Mullvad is definitely what I'm grabbing when my Nord sub is up; they can even be payed through the mail lol.
Honestly after having gone through a few free ones, I can say that even ProtonVPN works in my experience, if you can deal with the download speeds. I think you're throttled to like 10mb/s or something.
I don't know about anything like that, maybe the Android Joycon app would be a solution if you're looking to just use it for something like animal crossing?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rdapps.gamepad&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.termux&hl=en <--- Termux is a terminal emulator that includes Linux packages. In Termux just run apt install python. And then run the NSP splitter via the terminal as per usual.
It seems they've patched the emulator to be more accurate, and in turn that has broken both of these romhacks. There is a fix available to you if you want to read the retropie forum and do some minor hex editing, though I don't know how much effort is worth it for you.
There may be a better/already edited fix somewhere but if you can't find it on Google then maybe there isn't one idk
People also say the parallel core works but is slower, and idk if it's on the switch
>Is it possible I have a copy on the SD itself and what files am I looking for, BOOT0/BOOT1?
It's totally possible, but unlikely unless you have a huge SD - most people delete it/move it to other storage to free up space. Were you using an emunand? If so, your sysnand may still be clean and usable. If not, you've "dirtied" it and cleaning it without a backup will be tough. Do not use someone else's backup.
>Which should I update first and is there something I should switch over to (I saw Kosmos is archived now.)?
You need to use just Atmosphere now; Kosmos is very depreciated. Your setup is so old that you may find it a good idea to just redo it using the guide here: https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy

>A lot of my backups have an update software nag popup, is it ever safe to update these from the console itself?
No. Continue installing updates manually. Using an up to date shop in Tinfoil can allow you to update games more easily from those sources.
>Also my HBmenu has Checkpoint 3.5.0, ChoiDujourNX 1.0.1, EdiZon 1.5.1, hb app store 2.0, Tinfoil 0.2.1. Are any of these antiquated and need to be changed?
Basically all of them are super old and need to be updated at the very least! You can now use Daybreak (comes with Atmosphere) instead of ChoiDujourNX. You can get JKSV in addition to an updated Checkpoint or instead of it if you want.
You can’t pirate games on the same nand you plan to play online with. There isn’t a magic solution that allows you to play pirated games online or to have both pirated content and legit content on the same NAND.
If you want you can set up a dual boot clean sysnand and dirty emunand, but only if you made a nand backup of your clean nand before hacking. You can follow this guide for help: https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy Otherwise you have no other options. The whole point is to lock Nintendo servers. So obviously you can’t connect to the eshop either.
Does this guide not work? I just used it about a month ago to go from sxos to atmo on my unpatched day 1 system. Ez pz. I picked the one for you assuming you use emunand. There’s also sysnand.
https://rentry.co/MarikoEmuNAND
Takes like 20 mins to do this minus backup time.
Yes and no.
You can play games you own online with a valid Nintendo switch online subscription.
BUT
Only if you set up an emunand. Basically you make a sandbox clone of the switch. That runs off of an SD. But before you can install anything onto that sandbox clone called “EMUNAND OR EMUMMC” you need to block Nintendo services on it. If you don’t block them with incognito or exosphere (Nintendo blockers) then emunand will be banned. Since emunand is a clone of your original switch setup, your entire switch will be banned too.
If you do things the right way and block services before installing anything custom or other to the emunand, you can then switch between playing offline on emunand with your dirty stuff or sysnand and playing online with your store or eshop purchased goods. But you can never take any game you downloaded off the internet online (even the free ones) on emunand or you’ll get banned. And this ban is not reverseable in any way.
If you want to learn how to set this up yourself (for free), read this guide https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy
I wouldn’t suggest paying for a hacking service unless they are also installing an sxcore or sxlite onto one of the newer switch models. Anything else is just getting you to pay for free hacks.
https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy
This guide can help you figure out how to set that all up.
The most important things you absolutely have to do is make a nand backup, format your SD to fat32, set up emunand (if you care about playing legit games online) and setting up incognito so your emunand and the custom content doesn’t get your entire switch banned.
There isn’t so much a lot of maintenance. - You download the new cfw packages - you download the matching sigpatches when available - you download whatever system firmware you want/need to upgrade to.
That’s pretty much it.
And yes, if you fully power down you need to Rei next the payload each time. All your content will still be there and you don’t have to reinstall it, but you need to inject the payload to use anything cfw related
1) many people don’t use autorcm. It has some drawbacks that are annoying. But as long as you keep the switch charged and never let it die, it isn’t too big of an issue.
2) do not do the aluminum foil technique. It leaves aluminum flakes in the rail and over time it will cause your switch to burn and become irreparable. Just get a wire based jig. Don’t go cheap. If you go cheap and use aluminum foil or a paper clip jig, you’ll ruin the switch.
3) Your hekate set up is probably running off of sysnand and your atmosphere set up is probably running off of emunand. It’s hard to tell since you didn’t tel us and probably don’t know the difference.
4) yes, just dump the save on the hekate side with a save manager then use the same save manager to import it to the atmosphere side. You just need boot the game once and make a base save so that you can import it.
To restart your cfw set up, I recommend this guide: https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy
Try this guide https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy, either the sysnand erista or emunand erista page depending on whether you want to use emunand or not. If you still have that issue then let me know.
Yes, if you have an emunand on a supported fw, it doesn’t matter what version your sysnand is. It’s a big reason why most of us use emuanand. It uses 30gb more space but then we aren’t locked out of cfw like everyone else is when a new system fw comes out. If you want to know how to make an emunand our guide can help you set that up: https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy
To convert your current set up just follow the same steps. Emunand is just a sandbox clone of whatever your sysnand has. Normally you make one with a clean sysnand, but if you want to move your set up, make an emuannd based on your current sysnand. It will move all the files. After that, if you aren’t banned yet, you can restore your old clean nand backup and use sysnand to play online with any legit games you own and keep all the dirty stuff offline with emunand. Keep in mind once the emunand is made, whatever happens on the emuannd sandbox stays there. Emuannd and sysnand don’t sync or communicate. So don’t expect saves to sync after you separate them.
However, Until atmosphere supports 12.0.0 you won’t be able to set any of this up. Until then just wait it out.
If you have a windows PC, I'd suggest plugging the card into it and using a FLOSS tool called WinDirStat to see what files and folders are filling it up.
If you're on Linux, you can get the same info on the command line with 'du -h'
If you're on a Mac, yer on yer own.
Maybe audio language pack(s), I made the same mistake for other games. In Tinfoil you can delete these or uninstall and reinstall without the checkbox « DLC » and « updates ». Or maybe it kept the nsp file after installing it, you could check the files on the SD card on your computer (there are softwares for this like https://windirstat.net/index.html). Check for an eventual cache folder. That being said, the price for a 256G or even 512G is less than the price of 2 switch games and I have about 20 + retroarch with a lot of retro games. Maybe consider a SD upgrade if you want « big » games like this.
No. You’ll have to split it into smaller files, do a USB install ( which is what I do) or install over WIFI.
What I personally do, I have a smaller sd card (128 gb) formatted exfat. The main micro sd card in my Switch is 512 GB formatted as fat 32. I copy all the nsp to the 128GB card, even larger than 4 gb. I then use a micro sd to usb-C adapter, plug that into the charging port of the Nintendo switch. And install all my nsp this way with Goldleaf. Works like a charm. And no need to split large nsp files over 4 gb.
Something like this. Good luck
Yeah it's most likely illegal, depending on where you live. Once you've set up tinfoil, you can set up shops to download from Google drive. All of mine are down, but you can find some in the subreddit wiki. If you want to torrent from your computer, I'd recommend using a VPN like mullvad, and a website like nsw2u. Mullvad does cost 5€/month.
Your concerns are definitly good. Everything is trackable. Sure, nintendo wouldnd track googledrive downloads...
But the "shop" definitly stores (and probably sells) your data, what if the shop gets raided and closed?
Sure, a vpn is not the golden privacy tool, you have to trust your vpn provider a lot. I would personally never use NordVPN or some free vpns. I can recommend PIA or AirVPN.
They pretty much only can tell when downloading from torrents. Download from a site that uses upload services like 1fichier/MEGA/mediafire/etc... exclusively or get a VPN. I use PIA but have used NordVPN and one other in the past and never had an issue. They're not super cheap, but most will have great deals on 1 year or 3 year options.

Your ISP doesn't seem to care whether it is illegal or not. Usually they get a letter from a company that monitors torrents, and they then serve you a notice. If you haven't been torrenting than that means your ISP is really deep analyzing your traffic, in which case I strongly suggest a VPN if you value your privacy even a little and using it whenever you're online. Most VPN clients have a "kill switch" feature that prevents any traffic from leaving without going through the VPN which can, for example, prevent a torrent client from connecting to a swarm without your VPN enabled, which is usually enough for a copyright notice to be sent.
You gotta be careful with the jigs and really analyze the reviews, those 3D printed ones with just paper clips I never had much success with even after buying multiple and adjusting the hell out of it, maybe it works once or twice but eventually the paper clip just doesn't last.
This is the one I have I first hacked my switch in August of 2019 and have not had any issues with it. Worked the first time.
yeesh. try getting something better.
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07Q6YHRBM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_DCXEH9S8GMZQVKBC7QER
much better jig in form and function. works like a dream, slides in smooth and always works.
Yes! If he has a smartphone, there's an app called JoyCon Droid (android only at the moment) that lets you trick your Switch into accepting your Smartphone as an additional Joy-Con. You can then use it to run dumped files contain data of various Amiibos and the game will act like you scanned them at the campsite.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rdapps.gamepad&hl=en
If he doesn't have an Android phone, you can buy cheap Amiibo "tags" off eBay that have been custom made to contain the same data as an Amiibo card.
I was just gonna buy it with the game, it's like $50.
I'm actually gonna buy a 3rd party one like this.
Since some seem to think you asked 'can I' instead of 'how can I', I'll help you out. There's a couple of options; if you play in handheld you can use one of these which don't require charging, as they get power from USB-C. The other option would be something similar to this, but you'll need to recharge it pretty regularly; however, it can be used while docked.
It’s not possible. I’d recommend this dongle though, if you’re considering buying one. I just got it. Works for both docked and handheld mode.
No problem at all, I would recommend working on getting an rcm jig to start, if you have an iPhone an Rcm Jig plus a loader.
Jig: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Short-Connector-Recovery/dp/B07J9JJRRG/
Rcm loader + jig: https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Payloads-Injector-Wireless-Transmitter/dp/B07YWCZBQR/
If you have an android phone we can use it to boot the CFW, but if not you'll need the loader or a PC to boot.
It exists already (: The JoyCon Droid app lets you use your Android's touch screen as a JoyCon or Pro Controller via bluetooth and doesn't even require a modded switch. You can even plug in a USB gamepad and use it like that.
Video of it working: https://youtu.be/eVlIJ9MHccc
JoyCon Droid: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rdapps.gamepad
Yeah Mullvad is great. No it's just a program you install on your PC. I believe you can set your modem to use it but I don't. There's an android app (presumably iOS too) if you need it in your phone.
I've been using it for about 3-4 years currently. My only complaint is that Korea isn't one of the geolocations you can access (my gal likes to watch KDramas). Otherwise I'd recommend it definitely.
In Canada I got my landlords (and mine) internet shut off in 2017 when I torrented Game of Thrones without a VPN. Felt pretty bad about it. I now pay for Mullvad. Haven't gotten any notices since but I wouldn't know since qBit is set to only connect viay VPN.
I have a few of these laying around and love them. Best of all, no software needed to load payloads, just drag'n'drop.
The issue is probably the jig itself if you've bought 3 and none worked. Some manufacturers are not very reputable.
This is the one I own, and the ones I recommend to friends who are homebrewing their switch I've never had anyone tell me they've had issues getting into RCM, assuming they're doing it properly, with this jig.
Hey, sorry for sliding back into your replies over this. I was checking iFixit's guide just to refresh myself, and the thermal compound between the heat pipe and the shield appears different from the compound between the CPU and its cover, or the cover and the bottom of the heat pipe. iFixit recommends K5 "viscous" compound, but I was wondering if it was possible to get away with using the same 0.5mm thermal pads as are going on top of the memory chips, since you mentioned that you had placed pads along the length of the pipe.
Same adapter I tried to use, it’s weird cause it used to work.
A quick solution I found is sysdvr which streams the switch to a pc via network or usb cable.
I bought this and it came today and it works a charm
Switch TV Dock, Ponkor Portable... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07XS98LFB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Not sure what country you're in, but on Amazon US you can get an EVGA XR1 Lite capture card for $88.84 on sale. It might take a bit of saving depending on your financial situation but it's a cheap entry point into streaming with a capture card
https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Capture-Certified-Nintendo-141-U1-CB20-LR/dp/B09D8VYLY7
I have this janky one from Binbok. They offered it for free after I bought their bigger Joycons. The only catch was no power cord so I had to get another one. Otherwise its been fine for nearly 2 years. I just leave my switch in it, its in it right now. https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-binbok-Portable-Charging-Docking/dp/B08X75NWW8
I use this one, I can also use my phone on it too. No problems so far.
Yeah the US is different lol. They're tracking so many torrents trying to bust people and deter piracy. I even downloaded a PS2 game off of and got a copyright notice! They're watching everything now. About 10 years ago there was zero risk but now it seems like they're watching everything. Ever since I started using IPVanish, I haven't had any notices. One time my app crashed and my torrent software was still open. My VPN was off for maybe 30 seconds and they hit me with 2 notices from that one mistake.
The RCM Loader - payloads, on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Loader-Nintenton-Switch-Payloads-Injector/dp/B0B8DYCS6X/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=switch+payload+injector&qid=1665294314&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjQ5IiwicXNhIjoiMy43MyIsInFzcCI6IjMuMzkifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=switch+payload%2Caps...
Do I need to get something like this to wake up my Switch without my pc? Any recommendation? Thanks.
Ah, I see. On a side note, this minimal case is perfect for traveling with a modded Switch. Most carrying cases are bulky for cartridge storage. It also fits the hand nicely.
You have to absolutely buy all your SD cards at official vendors (Amazon, local hardware stores etc.) and make sure to choose a company, who is good at making them (mostly SanDisk, Samsung). Look for versions that have at least a 100MB/s read speed.
This is one example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HCPTMJG/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2TXPLUVHWASRQ&keywords=1tb+sd+card&qid=1661641811&sprefix=sd+card+1tb%2Caps%2C200&sr=8-3
They also have to be reasonably priced: 1tb = over 120 512gb = 60-80 ...
Don't buy any fake ones from ebay (mostly copies for a really cheap price)
It's all good, though I greatly appreciate the offer. I just went with the advice that another user suggested and downloaded NSP files using VPN. The software that I'm using is called ProtonVPN, but if there's a better and free one, then I'm open to recommendations. Thanks in advance
>I think it's perfectly valid to use a VPN on a hacked switch, without having to evade bans or anything like that.
You're right. There are only 4 ways to evade bans and VPNs are not one of them. It's not gonna help in any way.
>I'm wondering about the same question.
Not the same question. I'm talking about setting up VPNs like NordVPN or ExpressVPN on the Switch to bypass region restrictions on some apps. Your question is still related and a good one because you need the lan-play exe on your PC and playing with people when you're not home is not possible.
This is the one I bought. It just arrived today and I haven’t gotten the chance to use it yet so I can’t speak to its quality.
"Hori" is the brand, https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Split-Ergonomic-Controller-Handheld/dp/B08FJ7XY3B?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER. Its on amazon if you search "hori split pad pro"
I bought this one but it appears it’s not available anymore. Might give this one a try. Seems it gets pretty good reviews and looks identical to the one I bought just the images have the logo blurred out
If your battery got fat and is done for there is an inexpensive battery replacement kit that's supposed to be pretty good.
https://www.amazon.com/iFixit-Battery-Compatible-Nintendo-Switch-Console/dp/B088XWL2TX/
Super glue doesn't work well on plastics. You want something like this: https://www.amazon.com/IPS-Weld-Acrylic-Plastic-Cement/dp/B0149IFA9O
You do have to make sure the plastic you are using is reactive to the adhesive, but this one should be.
Yup, this is your best bet, and try to use the extraction bits with manual hand tools and not powered ones as one slight movement and slip can become a way bigger problem, even at low speed. For reference, here's an extraction kit off amazon too, those go for anywhere between $10-20 there.
Yeah it's probably the ribbon that connects to the rail part and the switch joycon. I believe this is the part you need if it is that https://www.amazon.co.uk/Switch-Replacement-Mcbazel-Joycon-Screwdriver/dp/B09VBWPNBP/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=ISZATRTDOSY4&keywords=switch+sl+sr+replacement&qid=1655747130&sprefix=Switch+sr%2Caps%2C128&sr=8-4
You'll want a quality 'jig'. Look here for an example.
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-EMiEN-Short-Connector-Recovery/dp/B0916Z26M6
Other than that, its easy to set up, but also it can be very frustrating to deal with. There's always a new glitch or issue to solve every time I update. Yeah it can be a pain, and sometimes there's no solution to a problem other than to start from scratch.
However, with softmod, you can use Checkpoint program to back up and restore your save files, so starting from scratch isn't that big of a deal.
True but there are payload injectors that are super tiny and portable like the RCMloader which are cheap and let you inject the payload without a pc/android device/jailbroken iphone. All u need to do is bring it with u whenever ur going out for so long that ur Switch might run out of power.
From my comment above here:
> This isn’t true, he worded it very poorly lol. You just need a payload injector of some kind of you want to go back into “modded” mode, in simple terms. This could be a computer, android phone/tablet, a jailbroken iphone, or the most convenient tool: a payload injector dongle like the RCMloader. With this even if you don’t have any of the above, you can go back into “modded” mode and play ur pirated games and access all ur modded stuff. It’s pretty cheap esp on Aliexpress and incredibly handy.
> Also, when ur Switch is modded it the console shuts off at around 2-3% battery to prevent this from happening, and puts the Switch in a low power state. As long as u charge the switch before it COMPLETELY dies, this will never happen and you won’t even have to worry about it. However even if it does, all you have to do is plug that payload injector dongle (or u could use a pc or any of the devices I mentioned above) into the switch and turn it back on- and your right back up and running. Think the commenter above doesn’t know about this lol, it’s really no big deal and not a “bug” that needs fixing.

You can shut the system off, you just need to reinject the payload to get the mod back. There are mod chips you can install that do this so you never have to plug it into anything, but the simplest and most convenient way to to reinject the payload when ur not near a computer/android device is to use a Payload injector like RCMloader.

AliExpress is cheaper though.
Huh. OK, that's my bad; when I googled Mumba Blade, the Amazon store page I landed on clearly states >Dockable Case: ONLY compatible with Nintendo Switch, does NOT fit Nintendo Switch OLED and Nintendo Switch Lite. Fit in the dock perfectly without taking off the case
However it does look like they have a Mumba Blade for the OLED, so that's not confusing at all. Sorry!
I got this one off amazon, it is louder then my unmoded v2 OEM fan but much better then the grind fest
My fan was making a killer grinding noise, V1 unit....replaced it with this guy off Amazon
Easy to install, changed the thermal paste, and now my switch is whisper quiet and runs very cool.
More importantly: Do you have a way to inject a payload? For a basic test you don't need to have anything on your MicroSD, just inject e.g. Lockpick_RCM and see if it comes up fine. If so, your Switch is unpatched. (And as a bonus you'll already have the necessary encryption keys on your MicroSD afterwards.)
To inject a payload, you either have to connect an Android phone or PC to the Switch's USB-C port and use an app or get an RCM Loader.
Literally go and search it up and Amazon

i use this one it’s more expensive for prime shipping but works like a charm
Two small steps to get you started, look at bottom left of the switch and put in the serial number to this website to check if it's patched: https://ismyswitchpatched.com/
Secondly, if it is unpatched, you will need to bend a paper clip a certain way or buy an rcm jig for like $6, I recommend this one since I've used it and know it works good: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q6YHRBM/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_S9P9APYW5E6KQAJZA3G0
The AutoMod post links to the Rentry Guide which is a great resource, there are also plenty of YouTube videos that will walk you through it. Assuming your switch is unpatched, the only things you will need to mod your switch are:
RCM Jig Type C cable MicroSD card
I spent a good amount of time trying out different launchers until i settled with this one;

My understanding is he was talking about the solder not the wire. If I’m mistaken then the wire is called Kynar.
Wire is typically measured in gauge and usually I use 30 gauge Kynar. 30 gauge is 0.254mm.

I own the Hori SplitPad. I agree with you that the Joy-Cons are a compromise, and the user usually ends up on the losing side of it. The SplitPad is nice and chunky, and although it's light, it's solid and sturdy in the hand. It even has paddles on the reverse side so that you can hit buttons more rapidly, though you can only assign a button on the same half of the pad.
If I were to come up with a single complaint besides the bit about the paddle, it's that they only function in handheld mode, and have no wireless capability. This means that the current SplitPad probably won't work for you, but Hori is actually releasing a different model next month that lets you convert it into a wired controller, which might™ work with your phone. I couldn't say for sure, though.
Shipping to Greece is probably going to be kinda pricey, but Amazon has at least a couple of the FPC connectors running around.
As for whether it's actually the problem, unfortunately that's outside my knowledge base.
hey
I'm using The big PP for the first time, and the startup is long af
It's now loading from tinyurl.com/TheBigPP,it's been 10 minutes and it's only 1/3 done
Is there an issue I have to fix ?
> rentry guide
Can't say I've heard of it. Is it this? https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy
I had just been using the NH Guide and SDSetup as it was the first thing that showed up honestly.
Yes the game cube emulation is decent, I've played a few Tony hawks pro skater games on it and the performance is pretty good, and that was on an older build, I've just seen the switch is officially On the lakka site now so I'm going to try the update myself.
and they seem to have come down in price to more or less align with the cost per gb of smaller cards.
as always beware the chance of any sd card being a fake, even if bought from reputable sources or retail store. and the chance of it eventually corrupting even if it's not a fake
AutoRCM works by soft bricking the console and telling it the system is corrupt so it goes into recovery mode when you try and boot. hence not having to use a jig every time.
If you want to get into stock fw I think you need to disable autoRCM.
I just got one of these RCM injectors, and it comes with a jig with a nice little slot for it to live in. totally worth the $30. I just updated the payload.bin with the latest hekate

id go for a 1tb sandisk bought on amazon.
also this comment will guide you:
"Also note that the Switch has a maximum write speed of about 100 MB/s.
Because of this, the "Ultra" and "Extreme" versions of SanDisk cards will have the exact same performance on the Switch since they both exceed the system's maximum read speed, and going over the maximum sees no additional benefit.
This means you can save a bit of cash by getting the cheaper Ultra version of the microSD instead of the more expensive Extreme. They will both perform identically on the Switch"

k thank you! Roms won't be an issue, I have everything I want backed up already.
My NSP comment was for installing retroarch. I know you can get it from the homebrew store, but is it preferable to grab it from here
If you tried to update to Atmosphere from SXOS then you might have screwed up your boot0/boot1.
The Rentry guide states this "If you updated via ChoiDujourNX on your EmuNAND then you have to either get a donor boot0/boot1 or backup your SysNAND boot0/boot1 and then restore it via NxNandManager or EMUtool (if you're using a partition based EmuNAND) or simply replace the files in your sxos/emunand/ folder (if you're using a file based emuNAND). This is because your ChoiDuJourNX corrupts your boot0/boot1 and will prevent you from being able to boot into emuNAND on Atmosphere.Hekate also has this function for EmuNAND. If you use that, please be sure you're NOT flashing SysNAND!"
There is another post where I put some links to gbatemp for a similar situation. That post should point you in the right direction.
Edit: Here is the link to the Rentry guide for updating from SXOS to Atmosphere.
