Don't even have to get out of bed. Quick video call, pay dollarbucks (20 from memory, maybe 25), PDF sicknote emailed to you in about 5 mins, forward email to boss, go back to being sick.
The idea that when you're feeling shit you need to somehow get to a doctor and have them print one sentence is just a waste of everyone's time. Including your company's HR people. Pisses me off. I'm an adult, I know when I'm not able to work.
fucking THIS.
I raise this point with everyone who whinges that we don't have DST and that it's such a great thing
perth sunsets in Jan (no DST applied)

Torguard is great, serious on privacy, keep no logs and excellent speeds and affordable ~$30/year.
I recently left PrivateInternetAccess (PIA) due to slowish connection and some down time while i was torrenting which was worrying.
It's been 5 weeks on Torguard and haven't had a problem plus $10 cheaper than PIA.
IMPORTANT use the voucher code "TGLIFETIME50" to get 50% off on all there products.

Shopping nets. Scrunch up into tiny balls. Expand out to carry loads of groceries.
These ones had been fine for me:
https://www.amazon.com/Black-Box-G1W-C-Capacitor-Model/dp/B00MIO2KRC
Cons:
They don't have internal batteries, because they tend to get a little leaky and explodey in 50+ degree interior temps. They have capacitor power storage, which means they power off immediately after turning off the car. Not a super graceful shutdown, but it's never corrupted a video file on me yet.
The firmware on mine obviously wasn't finished, because they constantly warn about low battery/failing battery, even when there isn't one.
On hot days, they fall off the glass, but that could be fixed if I wasn't lazy.
The UI is a nightmare to navigate though. However once you've set it how you want it, you don't need to interact with it anymore.
Pros:
Their cables are super long and really easy to snake around and hide behind interior paneling.
They sense bumps, and auto-save the footage, but that can be a pain if you're a shitty driver like me and all the run-over kerbs fill up the memory card with your failures. (by this i mean they are constantly saving video to the SD card, but then overwrite it when it fills up. When the accelleratometer senses a bump. it protects that video file from being automatically overwritten later on)
They have good low light pickup, unlike many digital cameras.
I never really have to think about them, they just do their thing.
They turn pretty colours when you leave them in the sun for ages.
It is an app grandpa, and my comment was obviously a joke. Like most apps in that list, and many apps in general it is a (supposedly) better way to access a website on a mobile device.

> Sean Goltz, a senior lecturer at Edith Cowan University Joondalup’s school of business law, said there were arguments for technology’s positive impact on our ability to connect and access information, but the internet was inherently bad.
Yeah, I wouldn't use an article like that to back up your argument. There are so many controls that are easy to put in place on devices that you can use to access the internet. If kids are accessing stuff that they shouldn't be, then it's the parents that have failed. It's understandable though as there's a fear bred from articles like the one above.
Letting kids have unfettered access to the Internet is like letting them loose in a library. There's some amazing stuff out their that can enrich their lives, but there's also a lot of stuff that you as a parent may want to keep them away from until they're older.
With iPads, it's trivial to control what apps the kids can load. If you're concerned about what they might be browsing on the Internet, set up something like Family Shield from OpenDNS. That's what I used before I set up a proper firewall at home (I'm in IT, that's probably beyond where most parents would go).
A parent's job is to keep one step ahead of their kids with pretty much everything they do, but don't be misled into blanket bans on things like technology as they could end up missing out on some great stuff.
Im moving there in 100days from London (I'm Aussie), I have created a little spreadsheet of things, not sure if its useful or not but here you go its hardly complete but I am adding as I go..

$100 to $160 range from that shop.
I did a "bit" (a lot) of research and eventually went the $$ option and got this on Amazon instead -> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0160HYB8S/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is a good app for those who like playing with political alignment quizzes- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sipols.politics&hl=es_PE
Fun feature- after using your results to determine your local political preference it will apply them to international politics. (If you were voting in a Japanese election for eg, find out who would float your boat!). It also comes with a frankly amazing free bundle of classic political literature so you can explore the foundational works of most of the main movements/schools of thought.
Can I add a geeky way?
Block the ads at the DNS source. I you have an ADSL/NBN/4G router with a spare ethernet port, connect it to a raspberry pi and change your DNS servers and you're set. You can also do it via wifi if you want.
And then you'll get to the next level, where you set up a wireguard on demand VPN that routes all your DNS queries via your home connection.
After I advised OP elsewhere to not 'fret the tech' .... I can seperately suggest Open Street Maps community maintained maps for local route suggestions. Its a little more dynamic and less constrained than anything local or State Govts have published. Numerous other online resources like RideWithGPS allow you to plot routes over OSM map layers etc.
I recently subscribed to Audible, as listening to Perth based call-back (even on the ABC) was doing my head-in.
Audio books and/or courses count?

If not, I'm very much enjoying the Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. Quite remarkable retelling of the Illiad (sort of...). Which is kind of ironic, as I'm reading/listening to Homer's original version at the same time. (Translated original that is... unfortunately I can't read ancient Greek!)
Calculation challenge accepted.
There are 313,451,347,968 options (not taking into consideration whether a sub is toasted or not, the size, whether it's cut or not, and the sides - e.g. cookies/drinks).
Assuming Crunchy_Nut is working with a partner, and only eating subs for 3 meals a day, they'll be finished by Boxing Day (Friday, December 26), 143035451AD.
That date is in my diary. I'll be waiting.
Calculation Info > Subs: 33 (choose 1) = 33

> Sauces: 11 (choose 0-2) = (11 x 10) + (11) + (1) = 122

I am going there in 48 days (From UK), I have made a list of sorts. not sure how relevant it is for you, if you have any additions then add away!
Good luck!
JFC, gone are the days of a free ride on meetups. Seems every single company out there is doing their best to gouge as much blood per month as they can from members...
Here's a list from alternative.to when entering meetups. Cant vouch for any of them but might be of use to you.
In situations like these https://ridewithgps.com/routes/new is your friend as it shows paths / routes that you wouldn't find on google. I haven't cycled down there but having a quick look at the map it looks like there are some backroads in the area which would be much nicer to ride down.

heritage
Line breaks: heri|tage
Pronunciation: /ˈhɛrɪtɪdʒ
noun [in singular]
1Property that is or may be inherited; an inheritance: they had stolen his grandfather’s heritage
1.1 Valued objects and qualities such as historic buildings and cultural traditions that have been passed down from previous generations: Europe’s varied cultural heritage [mass noun]: the estuary has a sense of history and heritage
1.2 [as modifier] Denoting or relating to things of special architectural, historical, or natural value that are preserved for the nation: a heritage centre 60 miles of heritage coastline
1.3 [as modifier] Denoting a traditional brand or product regarded as emblematic of fine craftsmanship: heritage brands have found a growing cachet among younger customers
1.4 [as modifier] Denoting a breed of livestock or poultry that was once traditional to an area but is no longer farmed in large numbers: Cotswold sheep are considered a heritage breed in Canada
1.5 [as modifier] North American (Of a plant variety) not hybridized with another; old-fashioned: heritage roses
So based on that it could fall into 1.1 or 1.2. It isn't something that is passed down. It might pass by the "historically important" thing of 1.2, but I think you would be hard pressed to say that it does.
I doesn't really fit what 'heritage' is. maybe, like aido said, if it was there for a lot longer. but ~14 years is not that long.
Just follow these steps and your good to go my friend.
1.) Remove your chair in front of your desk where your desktop/laptop is positioned.
2.) Put the xbox where the chair was.
3.) Try to stand or sit on it, whichever feels comfortable.
4.) Follow the basic instructions provided to you from the original post on your desktop/latptop while using your xbox as your new chair/standing device.
5.) Crysis supports xbox 360 controllers on pc but you will have to edit the .ini files or alternatively use pinnacle game profiler and one of these profiles or make your own. Link to this option below.

It's pretty easy to do, I used Irfanview picture viewer > Image > Colour correction to desaturate the image, then crank up the contrast to get a rough vector-ish image, then Image > Effects > Pixelate.
If you have a large image, and you want it to have larger "pixels", then you can use Image resizer for windows to resize to a custom resolution (say, 200 x 200 px) before editing it in Irfanview.

I've been using CIEMs for years without any such issues. Similar probably goes for every person who uses hearing aids. I usually just give them a quick wipe with a tissue before I put them back in their case, but about once a month I'll go over them with an alcohol wipe and use the looped end of one of these to fish any stray earwax out of the sound tube.

the app is only useful if you're on the current beta program, and have access to real time bus GPS tracking. otherwise a better app to use is called "transit" I would argue its still better than both google maps transperth information, as well as the transperth app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thetransitapp.droid
If you're getting dead DNS servers then temporarily change to anyone else's -
That should get you going. It might also explain why I've not noticed any problem; I use Unlocator for DNS to bypass geoblocks rather than stick with iiNet's DNS.
Shit, I hung a banner from a freeway bridge last week, advertising the CHOGM protest. What a terrible security risk! Better ban me now, cops.
Thanks for that hadn't seen it. Very pretty visually... shall have a play & and a poke
I've sorta dabbled more recently with desktop/browser based versions of TuneIn; I like being able to search by genre. Found a really good 1980s Top 40 one from Germany which plays a lot more indie/alternative stuff from the period.. as well as a of more German language stuff (that isn't Nina's 99 Red LuftBallons) which I really enjoy.
I've created an account... but the free desktop version has all the functionality I care for. Paid membership keeps promising more sport and more talk - which I don't really care for anyway.
Perfect! Thank you - Ended up using this link which will do for this assignment:

The CHOGM demonstration, titled For Justice and Climate Action, Not Racism and War, will take place at 10AM in Forrest Place on the fist day of CHOGM, Friday the 28th of October. This is a public holiday, moved from last Monday to accomodate CHOGM. You can check out the CHOGM Action networ's website here, and find the Facebook event page here.
Thank you for reading my arguments on why CHOGM should be opposed, and I urge you to attend the demonstration.
There have been quite a lot of construction delays in WA, but you don't hear about them on reddit for obvious reasons. The consortium who were building the network in WA chose not to renew the contracts too.

We've done this one a few times. Near on completely flat and the tunnell and waterfall are interesting and a bit of fun for the kids. The inside of the tunnell is chunky rail ballast rock though. I've managed to push our pram through but it wasn't easy.

I'd probably look around Freo as you would find it realtively easy to get to Murdoch on public transport from the Freo station. Budget friendlyish areas tend to be White Gum Valley, North Freo and Beaconsfield.
I kind of want to stay here myself (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/9302711?checkin=07%2F11%2F2016&checkout=09%2F15%2F2016&guests=6&s=WjofuN9Q)
If that isn't an issue and you will be driving somewhere like this in Mosman is probably good. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/9302711?checkin=07%2F11%2F2016&checkout=09%2F15%2F2016&guests=6&s=WjofuN9Q
Applecross and some of those areas are cool but a little lacking in things to do for kids/teens so your hubs might get a little stir crazy during the day. Finding somewhere near public transport will also let them do some exploring during the day.

It’s the literal dicitionary definition of the word. These children were mauled by a bird. Your weird references to a lion is just a poor attempt at misdirection.
You keep choosing very poor ways to rebut me and keep digging yourself a deeper hole. Just give it up.
Sure thing.

There is also Microsoft starter edition which is free. It is basically just word 2010 and PowerPoint I think with a little advert in the corner of each. Might be worth a shot. Just had a bit or a search for it and seems microsoft are phasing out the free version now, maybe they want to push people to the online version instead but you can still download it from third party sites. I just googled this site so yeah might work. http://www.downloadcrew.com/article/26083-microsoft_office_starter
I'm at Murdoch myself. There's a Maccas on Leach Hwy, near Murdoch, which has decent free wifi. Also Gelare in Ardross is nearby and IIRC also has free wifi.
Just be aware (as with all public wifi) that if there are any geeks are around they might cookiejack your Facebook session... so be sure to use HTTPS.
Considering the avon descent goes through there, I'm very sure there is no waterfall

Probably takes a bit longer to rack the ks up in a suburb just going round and round each block making sure you get every street.
Looking at the link below they started in July and are ending in December. So they're not running around all day every day.
Yeah, it's this site: https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/309154395#map=15/-32.0773/115.7603
I think the surface disturbance is mostly required because the site is pretty undulating (as in, by about 3 m I'd say — in parts anyway).
This is right in my back yard. I hadn't realised Google maps was so bad there.
Open street map is generally better for footpaths though. https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=17/-32.04699/115.86129&layers=C
You can get through around the back of Bull Creek at the start of your walk without going out to leach highway, but probably not with a pram. Need to jump between logs in the muddy bit, so I haven't added it in openstreetmap. There are some quite nice trails further upstream along Bull Creek on the other side of Leach Highway too.
Interesting. Is it academic research or private or personal? Bitcoin mining or something? ;-p
Edit: just realised it is Linux LOL. https://duckduckgo.com/Linux_Terminal_Server_Project LTSP! Haven't used it before, seems interesting.
FWIW, take a look at my app / online service, GameRanger. Huge emphasis on old-school multiplayer games. C&C Generals / Zero Hour and Warcraft III are very, very active.
All run from Perth, of course. :)
Must they be underwires ? I could live in the Playtex Women's 18 Hour Ultimate Lift & Support Wireless Bra Us4745 and they go up to really big sizes. Cheap as chips off Amazon as well - they go up to a 54DDD and they’re still only $32.
You'll be hard pressed to find letter/legal paper in shops outside of North America. Best bet would be Amazon, it appears they have at least this option on the .au site.
You'll have some free cloud storage from Google, Microsoft or Apple but if you want to store a decent amount then you'll have to pay more.
I spent a lot of time reviewing so many different cloud storage providers. I was looking for a provider that had good security (client side encryption), good features, ease of use, multi platform support, good speeds and reasonable prices.
Given the above requirements I settled on . It's not hard to find good reviews on Sync. You can sign up for a free account to play around with it first which is handy. If you use this referral code then I think we both get an extra gigabyte of storage as a bonus: 5d170fbf0
I use NordVPN as my VPN provider. If you're currently studying then use your student credentials to log into Onthehub and you'll be able to get their 3 year plan for a good price. I suggest grabbing as many free software licences from Onthehub and Microsoft Azure whilst you're still a student.
A friend of mine was recommended to work through this book before commencing classes, if this helps at all.
Amazon AU is your best bet. Near impossible to find in bricks and mortar stores here, and you have to be extra careful buying them anywhere online that may not specify that they're selling a voltage compatible model (If you purchased one from Japan it would need a stepdown transformer).
Fuji Mart (Japanese Grocery Store) in Subiaco may stock them as I've seen a small range of appliances before in the shop, worth giving them a call.
They can just pass your pocket and scan details from it. You can even do it using a shitty android phone for fun. But they've probably got better equipment which allows longer range
Edit: for fun as in on your own cards using something like this use with caution, doesn't seem to request internet access which is a good start
I use Unblock-Us and I recently used to check that it is working. It wasn't. Is there someone I can contact to help me figure out why it isn't working and how to fix it? I would be prepared to pay for their time of course.
Choice recently updated their VPN review and recommended the follow 2 as their top choices (I have yet to sign up but based on this I'd consider PureVPN:

PureVPN

Nord have really good customer service. I kept having disconnect issues and they were there on livechat every time to troubleshoot. Unfortunately for me it couldn't be resolved but they were really decent about giving me a refund even though it is not their policy to do so.
I'm with ExpressVPN now. No real issues but it doesn't have a automatic kill switch feature. If I'd been more astute with my research I would have given them a miss.
Stay away from PureVPN. I used them as their client supports split tunneling. Well, turns out that it's shit, mainly because their client disconnects and doesn't reconnect, despite having it auto-redial in the settings. Their network is also horribly slow at times. Their setup for OpenVPN in DD-WRT is also shithouse, AirVPN's was straightforward and worked 'out of the box'.
I originally had AirVPN, which was great, and now that I've figured out how to bind adapters in my torrent program to the VPN, I'll be switching back once my sub runs out.
They are two different things. If you only care about being able to watch overseas Netflix/Hulu etc then Unblock-Us is really all you need.
If you want privacy and encrypted web browsing/torrents to stop the Australian government snooping on you, a VPN would be the better solution.
I haven't tried them but if you are looking for something different take a look at Stuck (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.azimuthlabs.stuck).
> From the app page - Here’s how it works: > > 1. Request the service you require and location with local, accredited automotive experts. The nearest available expert will arrive to help as soon as possible. > 2. You are given the price upfront, which is usually about half the cost of a normal annual membership. Any extras can be added on if required (such as a new battery). > 3. Once your car problem is resolved, payment happens automatically without paperwork.

While we are talking about speed cameras if you have an android this free app is pretty good:

You set your favourite locations and it will notify you in the morning if there will be a camera.
Just finished Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, geez what a great but terribly sad story.... there are plenty of interesting life lessons in it too.
I'm back into the cycling again reading 23 Days in July: Inside Lance Armstrong's Record-breaking Tour De France Victory. I suspect it's going to be hard to choke a lot of it down given what we all now know about Lance and his epic fall but that's part of the reason for reading it. I've read a few on his downfall and I'm interested to see the other side of things and how it all fits together.
Here is an example - for me as a prime member it says it'll be here by tomorrow (I assume it says that for everyone but not sure).

I had mice earlier this year, and I just got a humane trap from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com.au/PIXESTT-Suitable-Capturing-Hamsters-Friendly/dp/B09LHZSJ44/ref=sr_1_20?crid=E8RUWEYAKOGI&keywords=mouse+trap&qid=1667963767&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI1LjU2IiwicXNhIjoiNS4xNyIsInFzcCI6IjQuOTQifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=mous%2Cap...).
I let the mice out at the local park. I think I caught 3 in total, and no mice since.
If the mice are getting the food without triggering the trap you might need to adjust it. Mine needed some trimming of the rod that releases to spring the door shut because it was a bit long, so wouldn't retract far enough when the pressure plate went down.
If you want an el cheapo version, try the Tozo T-10’s. The sounds quality is OK, they’re waterproof, and they cost $40 so you won’t cry when you lose one. My husband uses them during his sweaty workouts and they’re fine. They’re not mega-sound cancelling like the over-the ear fancypants Sony ones, but they do a reasonably good job of it, especially if you play white or pink noise or whatever.
If you want truly brutal sound cancelling, go for earplugs instead.
I swear, I subscribe to my current VPN provider not only because they are cheaper and better, but because I'll be damned if I give my money to the POISON that is "NordVPN"...
Betterhelp was similar. I was in a bad way, and signed up for the "Free Trial", only to discover that within a week or two they SLUG you US$250 or so, before you've even had a chance to get started.
So I paired up with a "Counsellor" (ZERO word about certifications or qualifications), who asked me to tell my life story and background and problems, which I did, after which point I said "Ok, go ahead".
They replied with "Well, what would you like to talk about?".
I was STUNNED. I said to them that in my entire history of dealing with psychologists and psychiatrists, I'd never met somebody so un professional and stupid in my entire life. Understandably they didn't take it well, and that was the point I cancelled them and cancelled my subscription.
Let's not even talk about how they scrape the web for Psychologists/Psychiatrists' details and create profiles for them without their consent to use them as "bait" for their existing partners.
Scum fucks.
Huge differences in temp across Perth, sometimes even in the same suburb. Wunderground is the site for weather nerds, personal weather stations push their data and they aggregate. Just started Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong by David Walsh. The title is pretty self explanatory - it's about the hell he got questioning Armstrong's lie for over ten years before finally being vindicated when the USADA report on Armstrong was released. I've literally only read the intro so I'll have to wait till next Tuesday to provide a review!

That's an amazing coincidence... I also pulled a back muscle after trying to get frisky with your missus!
You can't complain... my company once sent me from Perth to Houston for a 40min meeting in which I did not speak. There is a shirt for that: https://www.amazon.com/This-Meeting-Could-Email-T-Shirt/dp/B082JXK187
You can try a mens shed, its full of old blokes with good life story's. Plenty to learn if you're in the right frame of mind to listen.
But my experience with that generation is that they are not all new age touchy feely. They decide to do things and they do them. There's not a lot of attached stuff that people seem to carry now days.
ie I don't think they will use the words personal growth, ever, but, they are a great place to have a yard and make some things.
Failing that, this book is good one - https://www.amazon.com.au/Understanding-Mid-Life-Crisis-Peter-OConnor/dp/0809129760

Yup . There's a great new 2k print available Amazon . It's not cheap but as a fan it's well worth it, it's still as horrific as it was when I saw it as a kid .
It's also pretty fucking uncanny how we see the war in Ukraine having such similarities to the build up in this.

I saw these humane traps on Youtube - they were catching shitloads of mice. You put them on a bucket, then just empty the bucket in the bush every day.

Oh, there's a cheaper version that doesn't have the ability to control 433MHz RF devices, e.g. remote control power points, etc.

I had one of these - 70mai 1S - in my previous car - was reliable, had decent enough video quality and WiFi.
Unsure of that you want to spend. We just bought this smicecream scoop after breaking many in a row. Wife commentrd it will last forever and would make a great wedding pressie.
I bought these, they're great:

Nope just the normal bit of wire. The 3m auras sound good I might look them up haha
Also I use a clip I got from a pack of Korean kfp4 masks to keep the bits of elastic pulling on my ears. It gets trapped in my hair a bit but it’s still more comfortable. The mask fits better to my face with the clip too
Amazon sucks but you can see the clip here https://www.amazon.com.au/Korea-Individual-Packaged-included-KLARING/dp/B08KRLZV9K
I bought this one, but from Amazon US for AU$100. It logs continuously overnight and can download to phone over Bluetooth. It was the cheapest logging version that I could find. Seemed to work well for the couple of nights we tested it. I did use since medical tape to secure it overnight just to be sure though. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07RKVDHXH

I've only walked the northern half of it but yeah we didn't use a map and there weren't any dramas. There are some areas where you could stray onto private land if you're not careful, and some landowners around there get a bit bored of people doing that. If you have OSMAnd (or whatever) on your phone, the route is pretty complete in OSM I think.
