I appreciate that, but I really think they can live harmoniously. It's just a really big downer that I want to build this app for Reddit, but instead of being able to do that I'm spending a bunch of time having a back and forth with Reddit trying to figure out why I'm being singled out and what's wrong with my icon and okay with all the other ones that literally copy the logo.
I really just want to build the app. Twitter has a blue bird as their logo, and lets third party apps such as Tweetbot and Twitterrific use transformed birds as their logo. My app's name is an homage to the Apollo 11 astronauts, so I built the logo to be an astronaut. It has similar eyes to Snoo, but it's wearing a helmet, has a different color scheme, different antenna, no mouth, no ears, etc. Other than the eyes, I think it's sufficiently transformed that it shouldn't be confusing to users, while still maintaining the fact that it's a Reddit app.
I think it walks the line well and shouldn't be singled out, especially when other apps are given a pass for years.

He is also going on an extended ban spree today, which means he has been actively using Twitter for 6+ hours now, this is a long time even for him.
I am watching 20+ keywords with Trump in them in Tweetdeck and they are exploding today. Can't even keep up with the ones that get 50+ retweets. Get Tweetdeck and filter out some of the garbage and Twitter sorta becomes useful.
On Shauna's Twitter, she claims "I haven't been anywhere but the beach, the woods and the grocery store since March 12th."
So the Great Anniversary Food Tour never happened? The trip to Emergency?
She doesn't even try to keep her lies straight.
> Q: Is Twitter shutting down 3rd Party apps soon?
> A: No. Twitter initially announced that they would be making streaming API changes that would affect 3rd party clients like Tweetbot. After much outcry, these changes have been indefinitely delayed. Even if these changes are eventually made we’ll be able to work around the majority of them. In the worst case scenario we won’t be able show notifications for Likes/Retweets and notifications for Tweets, Mentions, Quotes, DMs & Follows would be delayed for 1-2 minutes. You’ll still be able to read your timeline, mentions, DMs and post Tweets just like you do today.
Here is my Awesome 3.5 config on Gentoo. Pretty much everything is in the terminal. The stuff on the vertical bar (left side) is blingbling.

If you want free then you could try luck with Falcon Pro 2, but if that's too cumbersome then you could try with Plume (whose design I don't really like).
Unfortunately due to forceful restrictions in Twitter's API (search: "token limits"), it's difficult for developers to mantain their apps. Which means that most good Twitter apps are behind a paywall.
Twidere can show you combined Masto/birdsite timeline.
Twitter is a proprietary service with restricted API so it's hard to do what you want inside Mastodon.
FalconPro. Simple, lightweight, and beautiful. No ads. There just aren't any more tokens for it, so you have to go through a kind of weird (but free) process to get it. It is not on the play store, but here http://getfalcon.pro/. This is what it looks like.
Honestly, I've only used the Tweetdeck version of the site for years and it's been fine.
You don't get the trending hashtags shown to you ever (90% of the time they're boomers raging about something), it's only ever shown in a chronological order instead of whatever the hell order the main site decides, there's no random algorithm filtering tweets so you never miss anything Twitter decides isn't "relevant" enough to you, and it only shows the people you follow. So if you only follow decent guys, you won't see any of the awful community people always mention in regards to twitter.
It's the best way to use Twitter without any of the problems everyone talks about.
I deleted Twitter from my phone, crafted some private lists of different groups of people I care about and added them as tweetdeck columns. Twitter seem to have somewhat abandoned tweetdeck so it doesn't have any of the dark patterns that Twitter.com and the app have to increase engagement - no trending topics, everything in chronological order, no "[x] liked post [y]". And by making lists of people (I have people I know from work, people I know from my hometown, etc), you can easily catch up on the stuff that actually matters.
Of course, that doesn't get you away from the fact that everyone is tweeting stuff all the time about the latest outrage, and why you too should be outraged about [topic]. For solving that, I've tried to switch to following people on the fediverse (mastodon and friends). There I seem to follow a bunch of people who mainly seem interested in building stuff and talking about it, which is a lovely change, and reminds me of the olden days of Twitter.
I'm in social media management, and the only downside that I can think of is that you'll have to pay monthly to get full functionality out of most managing apps. If you don't plan on posting more than the free limit, and if you don't mind having limited analytics, then the free versions will probably be just fine.
You can also try Buffer, which is what I use for my personal social media posts (the free version works fine for me).
You can also use tweetdeck to manage one or multiple twitter accounts if you do any posting on twitter. It's free to use, AFAIK, and you can schedule posts and filter content easily.
You may have to go through a few hoops to get it working, though.
The problem with good Twitter clients is that they're only allowed 100,000 users. Falcon Pro adds a way around this by letting you register it as your own client.
Best way to get a code.
-> Have this page logged in & ready to redeem code

Thanks to /u/ShaanOSRS for sharing this. I got a code for a buddy and I within 30 minutes.
For the followers, I strongly recommend https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/ instead of the main twitter website, which is spam central. Tons of garbage tweets from accounts you never heard of.
I just prefer the interface, it gets rid of ads, now some things like polls aren't available but I've always used it since I hate twitter's app, the "while you were away" and ad nonsense. Their page lists things about it https://tapbots.com/tweetbot/ it does cost a little money.
I did some googling and discovered that when a tweet has over 100 likes it doesn't show them all. You can, however, still see them all on https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/ where you can indeed see she likes it
Take an assessment of what you find exhausting. For instance, I find book preparation exhausting. So, I took notes on the process and follow those notes to make it easier.
When it comes to marketing, make sure you're using hashtags on social media. Some say they don't work, but I notice an increase in shares using them. If you have Twitter, check out https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/ Twitter made it to analyze one's social media posts. It's good for getting a quick glance.
Alternatively: Change to https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/. It's Twitter, but with a customizable interface that allows for multiple, strictly chronological and filtered timelines. It also doesn't try to push highlights or trends into your face.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-auto-refresh/reviews/
something like that.
My personal favorite is set up like this:
Twitter account
Make a Basketball List
Add a TON of reporters you like to this list
Load up Tweetdeck and watch from there.
This is really good for fantasy sports as well if you at work and just have it up.
> Make a twitter account solely for
I'd recommend using TweetDeck for this. You can create a column specifically for Steelers news and filter all of those users into it.
You can search for them in TweetDeck. (https://tweetdeck.twitter.com)

Trying to move away from my dependence on Google. My phone is running GApps but my tablet is only open source software.
Got F-Droid running and there are a lot of awesome applications there.
Twidere is highly recommended.
Anyone know how to implement gesture typing without the play store?
I guess that's my point though, Twitter clients like Tweetbot and Twitterrific both use blue birds to make it clear they're Twitter clients, which I think is fair so long as they sufficiently distance themselves from the Twitter logo, which I think Apollo did a fair job of in this circumstance.
Twitter doesn't allow third-party apps to do things like polls or group DMs so I'm not sure what sort of "full features" you need, but I really like Tweetbot for managing multiple accounts.
I've seen a lot of people on the sub recommend Falcon Pro as the best twitter app ever. I haven't used the official Twitter app and I barely use Falcon but it does what I need it to do. You should at least try it out.
There's a short process you have to do to get it to work because Twitter (from my understanding) was cracking down on third party apps. Just Google how to get Falcon Pro to work and you'll find it.
I have not personally owned a Facebook account for almost a year now. Kind of feel glad i don't use their service anymore.
For Facebook applications, a simple search query of 'Facebook' will prompt you to many varieties of applications. With Facebook being a huge social media website, you may find some junk searches. One application that I managed to find is called <strong><em>Fast For Facebook</em></strong> and it allows you to manage your Facebook account. There's probably numerous applications that offer the same type of experience.
For Twitter applications, there is a few varities of those too. The problem is that there is not many because of the Twitter API. Only authorized people are allowed to have unlimited amounts of tokens. I believe it is called something like POST oauth2, but I may be wrong. I beleive there is ways of gettign around this by using XPosed Framework, but someone will have to correct me on that too. Back to the topic, one Twitter alternate application that comes to my mind is <strong><em>Falcon Pro</em></strong> which is beautiful.
Completely agree! I didn't know Falcon Pro was removed because I kept restoring from a backup after I screwed something up when playing with my phone. When Kitkat came out I decided to start over fresh. Turns out it's been removed from the play store for quite a while.
To see retweets and other Twitter interactions on the newest Falcon Pro build just swipe to see the left side navigation (with Profile, Settings, etc.) and click on Stats. Voilà.
Assuming the web app is WebTube and the API app is SkyTube ... There's also NewPipe, which is what I use. It's a bit more primitive than SkyTube but it seems to work. By comparison Firefox struggles with YouTube on older devices like my Nexus 7.
AndStatus is an excellent Twitter client. There's other apps but I've never had cause to try them.
Facebook I don't really use either, but the official app is basically a web view + spyware, so the alternatives can hardly be any worse :)

Since I'm no longer a moderator here, I don't know how much I can or should do to keep the sub going, but in the absence of weneedtofederalize, I'll be helping /u/twwsts keep this place alive until he returns (if he returns).
I've made a twitter list with the most referenced institutions for /r/europeanunion which you can add to your tweetdeck or your feeds to keep abreast of the news:
https://twitter.com/i/lists/1132096927535906816
Hope that helps a bit.
It's like Quora, but for developers/IT professionals.
But TweetDeck might help you. There's no suggested topics or seeing random tweets because someone you follow liked it.
Make sure you're logged into the app. Make a new twitter account, and follow ronnie's twitter as well as the 2k my team twitter. On a computer, go to https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/. Tweets refresh automatically on tweet deck even faster than normal twitter, so it gives you a couple of extra seconds before everyone else. Once the code drops, enter as quickly as possible but don't make any mistakes with typing the code.
Another tip, make sure you include the dashes and caps aren't needed. As long as you pay attention to twitter and enter the code as soon as it drops, you should be able to get the PD. If you want to practice entering some codes, click this link to practice on 2kmtc. Good luck!
Perfect blacks means #000000 color to completely shut down pixels on OLED displays to save power, the older app had that. And while the new app is a UWP web wrapper, it's only around 100Kb in size, it just hides the browser UI and does nothing else, so it's pretty much still a PWA. You can add mobile.twitter.com to PAWA and get the identical experience, except you'll also be able to use landscape mode for videos. It's unimaginable how much of a downgrade the new app is compared to the old one. Also, I'd recommend to use tweetdeck.twitter.com instead.
Lists are definitely a great way to group topics. You can also use Twitter's own TweetDeck and view each list simultaneously in a different column, or have columns based on current activity on certain hash tags, mentions, or whatever else you want. The only downside is I believe it's only available in a web browser and there's no app currently available for it anymore. But the column views definitely make for more easy reading on topics you are more interested in at the time or want to focus on.
We're live tweeting tonight during the finale.
Here's some info on the time we're starting.
If you can't be up at that time, you can schedule tweets using Tweetdeck.
One thing that seems left out in the comments is the leverage provided for your next game by that existing channel. It's likely that the audience of your first game will like your next. Your social media account is a list of all those people that already like you and your games. They're the prime audience to show early information about your next game. They can like/retweet from earlier on and produce compounding gains.
(On a side note, I would like to hear about others way of reaching out to people that bought one of your previous games.)
For this to work, I would think it would be best to be using a personal or studio account. I'm still pretty new, so I'm not I'm not sure what the best practice is regarding having a personal twitter, a game studio twitter, or a game twitter. I have all three and use TweetDeck to post to each or all depending on the content.
Nice list :) I should definitely use Hemingway App way more...
I'd have two additions:
http://ezgif.com/optimize >> A tool to optimize gifs. It's really powerful.
https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/ >> Helps you managing a lot of information. Make good use of twitter searchs and you'll get a lot more productive.
Not specifically optimized for Xbox, but Tweetdeck (https://tweetdeck.twitter.com) works incredibly well in snap mode, so you have a live updating twitter feed on the side of your screen. Perfect for seeing tweets during major events like the recent US debates or sporting events.
What I would encourage is creating a twitter account dedicated to the operation. That was what I took from the first earthquake - makes it easier for twitter-users to find the information.
Example https://twitter.com/opearthquake (As you can see I was/ am in preparation for the next quake, but the timing fucks up again and again). Idea is to have the start date very visible on the account page. I plan to direct all twitter users in the shilling for the OP to that account (and have a pinned tweet with links to KiA/ 8chan/ Voat).
—
I can give you the plan I typed up
—
> == The plan ==
> Step 0: create infographics about Operation Earthquake and spread them everywhere on KiA, Twitter, Tumblr, Escapist forum, other forums and so on (tag them with @OPEarthquake please)
> Step 0.5: create and collect original content about the __.
> Step 1: Fire at least 10 tweets at date with hashtag _____. Use no other hashtags in those tweets. (If you can't make it you can schedule tweets via https://tweetdeck.twitter.com)
> Step 2: Everyone retweets, favorites and replies to 4 selected tweets. We know from another hashtag that extremely high boosted tweets help the tag to get trending. Those selected tweets will be retweeted by @OPEarthquake so you can easily find them on date__.
> Step 3: Start organically retweeting, favoriting and replying to tweets using the hashtag _____. This one is important and fell short the last Earthquake. Conversations in the tag and answering questions from neutrals are an important way to generate more hashtag-tweets and are paramount to making it trend.
> Step 4: Acquire popcorn enjoy salt
—
Part of the plan is also creating a video about how to use tweetdeck for the Earthquake and some strategy guide (also tweetdeck) on a shitty wordpress blog (or asking f.e. ralph to host it).
—
Hope it helps. Godspeed leaders.
Yeah, he puts out the code out on his twitter. You use Tweetdeck to see the code as soon as he tweets it. You use the MyNBA2k app on your phone and enter the code there, or use the "Enter Locker Code" option in the Settings on NBA 2K15.
One trick for finding great new articles is to follow a bunch of journalists and editors on Twitter and to use https://tweetdeck.twitter.com to alert you to any popular reads. (It’s v similar to Nuzzel.) … Also, the pocket app is a great tool for algorithmically suggesting articles.
Until last week I was an editor for them. One trick I used for finding articles was by following journalists and editors on Twitter and using https://tweetdeck.twitter.com to alert me to any new articles that are getting attn online.

Twidere x is a beta, if you would like to help the devs you can test it but i recommend Twidere because it's the official one and might be more refined 'cause it's more popular. You can find more about the beta here
https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/
even though for this oysttyer, and rainbowstream might be feel comfortable :)
not myself, but I do use an open source console twitter client, which is written in Python, it is fully featured. probably a nice reference.
I do know know Fenix, but if you are looking for a highly customizeable open source Twitter client, you can have a look at Twidere (PlayStore/Fdroid)
I don't use any extensions- you might have to change the keys while setting an account up for the first time, I can't remember. There's a straightforward guide floating around somewhere.
EDIT: Here we go. Official keys.
If you know someone you like on twitter, it is possible to see who they follow. And go on from there!
The official client kind of sucks but on iPhone/iPad or Macintosh, I quite suggest TweetBot! That will make it all a lot easier to use. Costs a few bucks, but well worth it.
Well it should do. If it doesn't you can complain to the people who make your various apps.
I use the official Reddit app and Tweetbot on my iPad and it seems to pause and resume background audio correctly.
If you like slow updates, ads, and clickbait stick with the official app.
If you want a more refined, ad-free, experience of twitter get tweetbot: https://tapbots.com/tweetbot/
It has had dark mode for a long time.
I'm an American and I have occasionally had home delivery of the New York Times, even though I don't live near New York. My parents still do have it delivered and they live near where I do, but they're thinking of stopping the paper edition. It costs over $1,000 a year. But I think they do value it.
We did used to live near New York City. But it's not nostalgia, The New York Times and (it always has been but increasingly again) and The Washington Post, and also The Wall Street Journal are national newspapers. Relying on a huge city or a huge political apparatus is what used to fund newspapers to go beyond what even Chicago or Los Angeles papers could do.
It is important to fund newspapers and boy do you get a lot of physical material. When my parents have me look in on their cat for 2 weeks that is a LOT of NYTimes newspapers in pounds. That's kind of the problem I had. I don't want to read all that paper. I'd rather use it on my computer, phone, iPad, etc.
But digital delivery it's easier to ignore stuff you wouldn't think you were interested in until it catches your eye as you turn the page.
I'm very torn about this.
Clearly everybody in every country should read the entirety of every good newspaper every day. Since this is impossible, what is a compromise?
Personally I try to curate a private twitter group both of "Newspapers" and also another one of "Newsmen" that I visit as often as I can using my preferred program, which is called TweetBot
no question at all, Tweetbot on my iPhone and iPad and actually even my Mac! (syncs all around)
Best Twitter client there is.
I use Twitter pretty hard, especially with lots of private lists. This is the way to do it.
If you're an iOS and you need a good Twitter app, try Tweetbot. Ad-free and it feels a lot faster than the official Twitter apps on any platform.
For Reddit, try Readder.
Neither apps are free (you can view posting in Readder but to actually you use it, you have to pay). But that's usually the case on iOS- if you want the best experience, it's not going to be free.
For Reddit I actually prefer the official app but that's because Handoff (the feature that allows you to seamlessly move from Mac to iOS and vice-versa) is supported.
Oh funny, I had no idea it was also happening on iOS. I use TweetBot and they don't show up in there at all, so perhaps this is your solution?
I've been using it for years and it's really great. Highly recommended!
I think Falcon Pro does this (note: this is not Falcon 3 which is found on the playstore, but have the same dev)
Heres a link from where you can download it : http://getfalcon.pro/
Scroll to the bottom of the page, and you can see the link to a download page!
Most of the decent Twitter application has Filter. I personally use Falcon Pro for twitter and filter a ton of stuffs (eg. annoying tweets from a few idiots about their daily follow/unfollow count)
Also, Carbon has Filter too. And possibly a lot of other clients.
Falcon: http://getfalcon.pro/ (It has a tricky way to login but it's a great client) Linkme: Carbon For Twitter
Try Falcon pro
and here is how to bypass token limits.
Linkme: Flyne.
Requires an in app purchase to setup your own custom Twitter feed, however.
It's made by the same dev as Falcon Pro.
I've actually really come to love Fleksy for my Android keyboards...it has a bit of a learning curve but once you've got it you'll find all other keyboards frustrating.
The best multiple account email I've found is CloudMagic. Best Reddit app, Reddit Sync.
Press is my Reader app of choice.
Falcon Pro is the best Twitter app you'll ever find, though it requires installation from an external site and all of it's tokens have been used up so you have to do a bit of fiddling to make it work ( here's the instructions https://plus.google.com/117310335847577405511/posts/Zb3w9ZVznyZ and here's the app http://getfalcon.pro/) but it's so worth it.
Oh and Zite, which is my favourite topic based news app.
Y actually using Fenix http://mvilla.it/fenix/, but the last week i have reinstalled one of my favorite third part client Falcon Pro http://getfalcon.pro/ and it's working really good and with more speed than Fenix. Both have real time updates
It works great, I've had it for a long time. No subscription.
Ah. That sucks.
But the good thing with twitter (as well as reddit) is that they're the only social platforms that allow for third-party clients, and those don't have promoted tweets anywhere.
For twitter I use https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/ on the desktop, and TweetCaster on mobile. Haven't seen a promoted tweet for years
Twitter literally has functionality to let an admin team manage your account baked in. There's zero reason for Trump to have sole access to his own account. Unless of course his massive ego won't let that happen

I honestly can't really understand how to work my marketing part on twitter so I've never done that. Thanks for you advice, I'll give a try :))
In which stage of preparation you're saying?
I know it's not self-hosted, but I use https://tweetdeck.twitter.com on a screen on my laptop all day with some lists.
It works pretty well, and I've seen some major announcements the moment the news outlets announce them.
If the retweet button is grey then that means that you will need to go to somewhere like tweetdeck and that will allow you to delete the retweet. https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/ is the link to tweetdeck.
I felt that way about the 'media bubble' too, but you also have to retain some mental space. You could always start a separate account that you use to get a look at the unfiltered version.
I think the most popular app is Tweetdeck. I've used it and it's okay. https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/
There are also android apps, Owly and Talon - I haven't used them so can't comment on them.
Use TweetDeck. https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/
Click the slider icon at the top of each column if you want to remove it. Then simply use the menu on the left to "add column".
Twitter by far. Facebook is dead unless your podcast audience is 60 plus.
I recommend Tweetdeck to run custom searches for topics you've discussed on your show and to reach out to people who have organically expressed an interest in your show's subject matter.
May I introduce you to https://tweetdeck.twitter.com
In fairness, I get a lot of news updates (not just F1) from different columns in there, so I do nearly always have it open as a pinned tab in Chrome.
Apart from that I genuinely do nothing special, no bots or anything.
I was being sarcastic. =) You are Gen X based on your born date. I have not figured out the logic behind the Baby Boomers and Millennials trying to belittle each other publicly because they think the other is "the problem" and they are "the solution". Really the ones publicly trying to belittle a label is the problem... but what do i know.
Twitter isn't that bad. Facebook and Reddit are equal as toxic in my opinion. It helps if you use tweetdeck.twitter.com and create your own lists to sort of group accounts of similar info (instead of one long feed). Also, if I follow someone/thing and I find out what the post really is something I don't want to see... I just unfollow. Pretty much anyone that spends most their time referring to people by labels.... bye-bye. The joys of social media.
Oh my god. Indian scientists have just found HIV (AIDS) virus-like insertions in the 2019-nCov virus that are not found in any other coronavirus. They hint at the possibility that this Chinese virus was designed ["not fortuitous']. Scary if true.
Busy or international? You can use https://tweetdeck.twitter.com to schedule your Tweets. It’s free to use and is owned by Twitter. Just use your Twitter credentials to login, no need to create a Tweetdeck account.

Not a Ublock Origin Fix but you can try out Tweetdeck.
Also (i think) you can disable it in the Twitter Settings cause I also disliked it and don't get them anymore (it's been too long to remember how exactly I did it).
Kinda. If you're only using it to search raid ids, it's similar to using something like tweetdeck where you can set up a bunch of custom searches for raids. The upside that raiders would have over this official twitter tool would be that you can copy raid ids on click. If you combine raiders with viramate, however, it'll load up the enter raid and paste the raid id in for you to click join.
I use Hootsuite to schedule my Twitter and Facebook posts, but recently started using TweetDeck for engagement. You can set up columns with different feeds, so for example I've got my regular timeline, a feed for specific hashtags, feeds for a few of my Twitter lists, and a feed of my notifications. While I'm at my day job, I keep a browser tab open with TweetDeck so I can keep an eye out and retweet or like a few things here and there. I tweet a lot of articles relevant to my blog topic, and when I do I tag the source in the tweet - 8/10 times they will retweet it, which gets my account in front of that many more people.
The Instagram community around my blog topic is fairly tight-knit and engaged, so Instagram has been a dependable mode of promotion. Whenever I publish a new blog post, I make sure to promote it both in my regular feed and in my IG story, too. I feel weird commenting on people's posts, so instead I follow a couple relevant hashtags and every couple days I scroll through the recent posts and just double-tap pretty much all of them. It can feel kinda inauthentic but I do notice a marked difference in the number of likes on my own posts when I take the time to like other people's.
Best of luck!
I love to organize my subscriptions in lists. Tweetdeck helps me to get an overview about my own topic-lists, preferred hashtags, newssites etc.

UST IN: There's controversy over the Gladys Knight national anthem. One sportsbook graded the OVER as a win and then took it back. Apparently, she might have said "BRAVE" twice. First brave would have made it the UNDER. End of second brave would have made it the OVER.
Buffer has a free plan that lets you hook-up to 3 of your social media accounts each with a queue of up to 10 posts each. The basic pro plan I've started lets you have up to 8 social media accounts with queues up to 100 items each.
Although Facebook and Twitter (via TweetDeck)have free native tools that allow you schedule posts in advance, I've found Buffer's interface far more intuitive, easier and quicker to use. Also, all in the same control panel. ;-)
https://tweetdeck.twitter.com is a great example. there's a scheduled tweet right freaking there.
Hell, I help run with a shitty radio station that has 20 listeners and even we got our Google Calander linked to twitter allowing us to make an events at whatever time with the text and pictures for DJ's going live.
