I'm not OP, but I can do it too. Here's a shitty recording. It's a really sharp click, like cracking a knuckle but much louder and very crisp. It reverberates around a room well. Confuses the hell out of people and animals alike.
I'm Polish and I wanted to help you out a bit so I recorded the correct pronunciation. Here: https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/g5t5797q86078cbb
I'm a gen-am speaker and I definitely have [ç] before [i] and [j] but not before anything else. Unfortunately your recording isn't really good enough for me to hear what you're doing, but I believe you haha. [Here's(https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/bdd6fj1a38r3lowh) me pronouncing "heating" and "heeding".
In case someone wants to know how a Finnish person says "Kimi" and "Valtteri"
(Honestly, I said it few times and Valtteri started to seem like not a real name.)
So I said I would sing if the canes won so... This is me fulfilling that promise. Pls no flaming my voice thx also i hope toews is alright https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/pzcinwf8ogxdcnce edit: my phone autocorrected last names :(
Ah la salope !!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
For the bitchxs who want to listen to the audio version
I did this very quickly because I unironically have to cook! #housewife
I wasn't feeling shaggy 100% when i wrote this comment and recorded but here you go. Also it likes to record up to 5 minutes and not tell me so i kept reading 6 more paragraphs.
Here's how it's pronounced. Source; I'm Swedish. Ö is a tough one to translate since there really isn't any sound in the english language (that i'm aware of) that serves as a good point of reference.
Thing is though, there's a long history of swedish players anglicising their names once they make the jump over to the NHL. So Hoglander would work in that context, plus it's sorta funny.
Hoaglander would serve as a middle road in a sense, and as such isn't correct by any definition.
Kik: Sirius8611
Had to record with my phone, so quality is probably no the best. Picture is also blurry :D
Edit: Uploaded to Vocaroo
I had to use a different site, but here ya go
It's a reading (that I kinda mucked up in places - I'm a bad speaker) of the long paragraph I posted yesterday
u/Whatisthiswinter - took 3 takes, this was the first time I made it all the way through. wew lad.

I don't have the clip anymore of when I was told I was saying something similar to an A, but this is my most recent and probably best attempt since I have no idea what else to do from here:
https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/i853nkkwelatc7fn
In regards to this sound, I'm honestly not sure since it seems so bizarre to me. Here's a clip of me saying "I call the tall ball" (i repeat the sentence twice; last time more slowly) so you and/or others can tell me.
The thing is, I'm pretty certain I can produce the sound at least somewhat in English thanks for YT videos, it's just that the English one isn't what it's like in French.
Does this sound better? I took your suggestion, as well as about the /t/ sound as well: https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/m05y2el5gv3qq3yt

here's a recording I did trying to demonstrate. Listening back to it, I realized one could get the idea I'm using headvoice in a nasally way. This is totally not true, my pure head voice and pure pharyngeal voice FEEL completely different. When I make the sound in the recording, my ear buzzes and I feel a huge amount of creaky resonance in my head. Headvoice, while I utilize this sound and its resonance as a base for some songs/lines in it, is generally a much more pure tonal feeling in the head. My point being: pharyngeal voice doesn't equal head voice with bad vowels, it's a seperate configuration and feels like one.
ALSO! I forgot to mention the old classic pharyngeal exercise "nay nay nay nay" on a scale in a super "witchy" or "bratty" voice. People always mess this one up without a teacher, they never do it in an obnoxious enough manner. REALLY go for it and just make it sound OBNOXIOUSLY bratty.
None of these exercises should cause you to tense up and strain. Be vigilant and poke the soft space under your jaw with your thumb while you sing to make sure you aren't tensing. If it isn't fairly relaxed and soft then you're almost certainly pushing and need to back off or give it a rest for a while.
I bet you would still have an interesting perspective on tanks since you used to main them, If you feeling like dropping us a line you can do that here. We will air the message during the show.
Here's my lang spoken kinda badly by me.
I get an A+ for phoning it in.

u/Akr0n, does the Windows Sound control panel (on the Recording tab) show any input signal detection when you speak into the microphone but it's just not capturing audio, or is it not working at all?
Try recording yourself talk over at https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder and see if it captures any audio at all, and let us know :) !
Also - What Windows 11 version/build are you running? You can check that by pressing WIN+R, then type WINVER into the Run window and hit ok. And is this a genuine Windows copy?
Use a service like SpeakPipe. This is the one for my show. You can edit the text prompt on the landing page to mention or warn that anything submitted may be used on the show and by continuing to leave a recording you agree to such terms. That's really all you need for such user-submitted things of their own free will, not a formal signed release.
HHKB Hybrid Type-S modded with:
The sound profile is still a bit new for me to get used to. I still hear the "thocks" but they sound much lighter, probably due to the geometry of the mx mounts as well as the thinness of these POMs caps. Still gotta sleep on how I feel about BKE domes but I really like them so far -- super bouncy and tactile but light (I got the ultra lights) and just a lot of fun.
I used the wrong screws for pcb (from another keeb) and didn't realize until I finished installing everything. Somehow it magically worked... go figure. Also forgot that POMs don't come with 1.5u mods lol riiiip...
Overall it was really fun mod and really my first time doing real modding. 9/10 experience would recommend.
I had a lot of fun doing this one. You can think of it as a parody. I thought of it as some Gand Blue moment where one of they guys expect a girl at home , but it's just the big guys from the Dive Club.
That's...interesting since I've never heard it before. I have had people some random people tell me they like the way I speak but I never asked them why, so perhaps that could be it?
In this clip (https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/brv05f8h0r6c9udd) I say the following: sort, note, poche, brosse, pote, sotte, trotte, botte, grelotte, poirotte -- Nicole porte une robe à la mode
Hmm that is a good point. Do you mind listening to this clip of me speaking a sentence in English to determine if it's [ʌ] or [ɐ]? I say: The cut buck has luck (not sure if this makes any sense) and I repeat it a second time more slowly.
I also did come across one video that did suggest that the open O was the same as the closed one, but just more...open, but it's a rather difficult sound to produce.
I can make a spot on oink. Like it sounds identical to a pig. So much so that if I do it pigs will oink back at me. I have yet to find someone that can also do that but I can't be the only one.
Branding is one of the biggest advantages of having your own site and domain. It gives you a container to showcase your show, utilize show notes, highlight resources, create blogs from transcripts, connect to social media and increase newsletter sign ups. One important page to add to your site is how to listen. Let people know where they can find you and how to leave a review. Podcasting is still new to a lot of people so if they come across your site before your show they will know where to find your show! Here is a good example journeytothere.com/podcast . One fun item you can leverage with your website is a feature called SpeakPipe . It allows you to call out to your listeners with questions or feedback and then you can edit the audio into your show.
I never said it would be good, I haven't even heard it over because I can't stand the sound:

Recording episode #1 today! Want to submit a questions or comment about anything Ingress related, then go to our speakpipe page and record something! If you need us to disguise your voice, please let us know (you only have 90 seconds to record, so keep it short, on point and clear!)
We also have a segment on ideas for the game or 2.0, so feel free to call in with those suggestions as well.
In Arabic, there is a difference between the "Alif=ا" and "Hamza=أ", that "Alif" is known as "Alif Al-wasl (something like: Alof of connection)", you only it's only pronounced at the start of a sentence, but when the word is chained in sentence, it's ignored, for example:
This is the moon.
Hatha howa l-Qamar
هذا هو القمر
Me pronouncing it.
As you see (or Rather, hear), i didn't say the Alif, as opposed to this, as it's a standalone at the beginning.
tl;dr: Arabic sometimes ignores litters it doesn't use.
I gave it a go too, but yours sounds more professional to me. None of the background noises, you manage to flow your breathing into the next words, and I don't think you even stumbled a bit while you were reading!
[](/u/cutty2k)
I haven't had my coffee yet, nor did I prepare for this in any way, but here goes: my audition tape. It's only 14 seconds long but I feel the quality speaks for itself.
Edit: now that I have had some coffee, I decided to listen. I had to click download and then play on my iPad to get it to work. Should I try recording this on some other service? Anyway, upon listening to it now, I must say I think I am indeed shrill and annoying enough to do the role.
[](/whooves) I tried…[](/sp) Edit: I was lazy. Here's a 2 minute recording.
I had to do my recording on a different site, because my laptop is determined not to let Vocaroo access my mic., but here it is

Seeing you've experienced the same issue with two different units, it's probably something with the system or configuration. Let's see if we can find the cause :) !
For a start, please go to https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder, record yourself speaking into the microphone, click the "Save on Server" button, and share the link with us so we can hear what your microphone sounds like.
Once we get a better idea as to what your mic sounds like, it'll help us narrow down the cause and proceed to the next step :) .
Also, please share as much info as possible about your setup, microphone positioning, etc. :) .
u/Cadavi1510, it's hard to tell like this, so we'll need some more info first, and then we'll do our best to help you out ;) !
Please go to https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder, record yourself speaking into the microphone, click the "Save on Server" button, and share the link with us so we can hear what your microphone sounds like.
What device are you using the microphone with? Have you checked the Default Format setting in the Windows Sound control panel to see if it's set to the highest quality? Do you have any devices in the vicinity that could be causing electromagnetic interference (eg. routers, smartphones, microwaves, etc.)?
u/Trkmond, PC peripherals are designed to be used mainly with USB2.0 ports in mind, so that's not really concerning, but the audio quality is. Also, if it's not being recognized only with your USB3.0 ports, it must be something with the system, because the microphone should still be recognized when plugged into one of them.
For a start, let's see what your microphone sounds like and we'll take it from there. Please go to https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder, record yourself speaking into the microphone, click the "Save on Server" button, and share the link with us so we can hear it.
Were you able to find a fix for this in the meantime, u/Bubblegum367?
If not, please share a few more details with us: - How old is your microphone and do you still have the receipt for it? - Is your Windows fully updated? If you're not sure, press Win+I, go into Update & Security and install any pending updates you might have. - Have you tested it with other USB ports to see if it makes a difference? - Do you maybe have access to another system/Playstation console that you could plug the microphone into and test to hear what it sounds like with it? - Can you please provide an audio sample for us so we can get a better idea as to what it sounds like? Go to https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder, record yourself speaking into the microphone, click the "Save on Server" button, and share the link with us.
u/G3orgiy, so the audio captured by your mic has noise in it, or is it just audio playback through a headset that's connected to the microphone? Is there any visible damage to the cable, and do you maybe have another USB cable that you could test it with?
Please go to https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder, record yourself speaking into the microphone, click the "Save on Server" button, and share the link with us so we can hear what your microphone sounds like if the noise is present with audio capture and not playback.
u/A_Duck__, is the static present with the audio captured by your microphone, or can you hear the static through your headset (in case your headset is plugged into the 3.5mm on the back of the microphone)?
If static is present with captured audio, please go to https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder, record yourself speaking into the microphone, click the "Save on Server" button, and share the link with us so we can hear what your microphone sounds like.
u/BanSlam, can you please elaborate on the "sounds a lot worse" part? Are you referring just to the microphone quality?
If so, please go to https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder, record yourself speaking into the microphone, click the "Save on Server" button, and share the link with us so we can hear what your microphone sounds like, and we'll take it from there :) !
u/lolvetikkejeg, were you able to find a solution for this?
Equalizer APO is a 3rd party app so we don't offer direct support for it, but we've seen quite a big number of users on here and other subreddits/forums that actively use it for a number of reasons, so we'd assume that it's safe to use :) .
Going back to your captured microphone audio volume sounding faint, you're saying you've tried it with both systems and different operating systems, Windows and macOS, and it sounds low with either?
Can you please provide an audio sample just so we can get a better idea as to what it sounds like? Visit https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder, record yourself speaking into the microphone, click the "Save on Server" button, and share the link with us.
u/ninjastar1104, please go to https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder, record yourself speaking into the microphone, click the "Save on Server" button, and share the link with us so we can hear what your microphone sounds like.
Is the noise present at all times or only with certain apps/games? What's dot marking is your microphone's gain dial set to, and what polar pattern are you using?

here look i can fix it just like that but when it go back on i dont notice and my team get noised

I recall there being a picture of a painted black bird. Soft-tempo track with female vocalist- The first part was "I was going to write you a song", something about "I can't find the words". The chorus includes "play you my song." and "da da da da". It's not Sara Barielles' Love Song though.

Haven't seen the name written as Silvian before.
The pronunciation of ai in Sylvain would be a bit like the ai in "air".
And you wouldn't put much exclamation on the n.

Search for the title of your podcast on Twitter Instagram etc. in "" like "my super podcast". Do the same with the episode title like "goat cheese for beginners". Maybe this helps?
Hosting companies could actually pass the referer on to you, as they should have it in their log files.
What about you submit this question to them: Buzzsprout Podcasting Q&A or you write to their support.

I sent the file through chat, I'm not familiar with private messages on Reddit, but I'll find it somehow and somewhere here soon.
For discord, It seems like the following options are the best for a less quiet mic:

ECHO Off
NOISE On
Automatic Gain Control On

Recording: https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder?linkId=88989792
I've connected a Roland digital piano to my computer (headphone out port on piano to line-in port on my computer). The sound transfers fine when I play quietly, but playing loud or too many keys at once results in static in my headphones. When I record this audio, the static isn't audible, but, instead, the sound is dampened when I'm playing too loudly or using too many keys at once (like some of the audio cuts out or is lost). Ironically, when I play quietly, the recording is LOUDER and clearer, since nothing is being lost.
Is there a way to fix this? Could it be a poor quality cable? Thanks! Sample of the audio (excuse the less-than-pristine playing, I was just testing): https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/4wohq1kty2kbw6io
I don't make a Mary-marry-merry distinction in my speech, but I can if I want to. Here's how to pronounce them differently.

I think I identified my voice type, most likely a mezzo. The most comfortable stuff to sing is Ella Fitzgerald repertoire. Here's a sample, probably not my best, but hopefully enough to showcase comfort and timbre - https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/xeeh8jilh84ep8mu
Would you say that mezzo sounds about right?
I used to sing in a choir as a teen (with altos), and had a vocal coach for about a month or two back in the day, but a bad case of pneumonia some time back has destroyed my voice, and lessened my lower range, and vocal control, so I'm relearning to sing all over. I want it mostly for amateur reasons, but no professional aspirations. How do you go about improving? Or learning new songs? Is it easiest to choose an interpret who's stuff to learn? Because I know some mezzo stuff, like Ella, is comfortable to sing, but say, P!nk I can't do. Some of the stuff I find doable is by contraltos, like Billie Holiday, other by sopranos like Lily Allen or Dolly Parton. So, I'm all over the place.
What would be steps you'd recommend so I can maybe share with friends or bf a 'look, I can sing' moment?
Any feedback on what voice type or timbre I have would be much appreciated.

Honestly, you sound like you're about in the range that I am, and I've never been on hormones. I just have a low female voice. I made you a clip so that you can compare. https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/v5pi959eyt3smiw6
False chords are the muscular folds right above your vocal chords that clamp or fold down over them during times of duress to protect them from damage. You don't usually use them when speaking, but you can learn to breathe so that they vibrate instead of your voice, and because they're so much denser they produce a lower sound. You'll mostly hear them in action when a singer does proper vocal distortion, in throat singing, or in metal music. When I do my false chord vocals I'm doing 1 of 3 types. The first is super breathy and super low, but sounds sort of like Christian Bale's Batman but much lower. The second is in a growl or scream like in death metal music. The third is kargyraa(sp?) a form of Tuvan throat singing where you can sing multiple notes at the same time. Edit: I recorded the 3 kinds really quickly, but be warned the first one is very quiet, and the next two are very loud. https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/ywbpwqavwph3p3vg

That's why I named the account "Shitty_Attenborough", but I like your criticism. Thank you. If I really wanted to make it good, then I would need to go listen to more of his commentary and learn.
I did that with my Christopher Walken, watched old movies, etc. The only problem is that you get infected with it. Now when someone says that they want to walk, all I hear, in my mind, is "Walken", in Christopher's voice. For the rest of my life this will be the case, so be careful learning an impression. Shit gets sick in your head.

You can simply reply by voice in the link above.
So if the audio worked fine, it would help a lot if you could test the mic too as that would help with determining whether it's a faulty microphone or the control box ;) .
You can test the microphone if you plug the headset into your phone/tablet/laptop/console and either using any VoIP software, sound recorder (on phones/tablets) or via websites such as https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder... or, you know, just a good ol' phone call :D .

I think it uses Flash to record, but if you use the upload link after you have made a recording using the voice recorder on your phone, that doesn't require Flash. It just stores your file and then you can link it here.
I think that you could also use speakpipe as an alternative.
I've done the recording with old town roads music playing from Spotify and adjusted the volume through out the recording. It turns out you can almost always hear it. The noise cancelling from discord removes most of the sound that's playing but once it becomes loud enough u cant hear a thing. Here's the link: https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/3cf0l9qg74hs6ij6
Its a bit cringe, but i hope you don't mind.
Is the cross-talk only happening when you're using Discord, or in general whenever you use the microphone? You can try going to https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder and recording yourself to hear what it sounds like and if it's the same as with Discord.
I know two podcasts using this.
One accepts a mail in to a gmail account and both also use SpeakPike (see http://bandrewsays.com/ and BSJ.fm --> https://www.speakpipe.com/RodLucas)
I used it once and it worked quite nice.
If you are on Anchor.fm there is a way for other Anchor users to leave you a voice message via Anchor.
If you have a switch board system (like an AVM Box or Asterisk) or a VOIP / virtual phone service provider you can get people to leave a voice message on an answering machine by calling a number (some even offer phone numbers in different countries).
That's what I know or used.

> 1: Did you mean (ʁ ~ʁ̞) when you said (ʁ̞~ʁ̞)? They seem like they both possess the same diacritics underneath to me
The second one technically should have a devoicing diacritic (ʁ̝̥, i.e. with a little "o" ring below the character), but I couldn't type it earlier, so I just wrote "ʁ̞ + devoicing". Admittedly confusing, sorry.
> 2) Could you see what sound I'm doing for the R here? As of late I had been striving to do [ɐ] , but I often times catch myself trying pronounce a consonantal fricative: https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/l35yf5zuh6a634au
To my ears, it just sounds like [ʁ̞], ∅, [ʁ], ∅, [ʁ̞], ∅. I don't hear [ɐ]. But I admit this kinda thing isn't my expertise.
> and 3) Since I'm going to do the smart thing and presume what I'm saying is wrong, do you have any tips on how to make [ʁ̞]? I can make the [ʁ] sound itself I'm sure but I'm uncertain of how to really make it lower than it already is to me
I honestly think your pronunciations are very good, but you could ask in /r/French for better advice. It's worth pointing out that on the IPA chart, /ʁ/ occupies the space of both the fricative and the approximant, because no language distinguishes them and they're pretty much interchangeable.
Oh bless your heart for this post. However I had some questions:

1: Did you mean (ʁ ~ʁ̞) when you said (ʁ̞~ʁ̞)? They seem like they both possess the same diacritics underneath to me

2) Could you see what sound I'm doing for the R here? As of late I had been striving to do [ɐ] , but I often times catch myself trying pronounce a consonantal fricative: https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/l35yf5zuh6a634au
