It's called BIRD (Buffered Inhale Release Dynamic) and you have to input up tilt during the sucking animation (like before the opponent is actually in his mouth). It also only works if the opponent chooses to mash, as Dedede will automatically spit them out after a set amount of time.
This PowerA Wireless GC Controller is OFFICIALLY Licensed by Nintendo. Might be the closest to an official Nintendo wireless GC controller we'll get (other than the WaveBird of course).
>Official Licensed Product
>This PowerA Controller is officially licensed for Nintendo Switch. Always look for this seal when buying video game accessories as assurance that the product has gone through Nintendo’s rigorous testing and evaluation process.
There is a thing called Flashpoint Launcher which is dedicated to preserving old flash games and allowing you to still play them. We should get in touch with the creators to get the smash flash games on them https://bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/

I use this adapter! It allows you to hook up most controllers to the Switch, both wired or wireless. It also comes with a USB OTG adapter so you can even use the dongle in portable mode!
I was really hesitant to go with 3rd party, even if they are officially licensed. But this is the one I picked up, and after ~2 hours with it today, I am a fan.
Granted, I haven't played Smash in any real capacity since Brawl, so my memory might be a tad off, but the PowerA does feel pretty darn close to exactly what I remember the GCN controllers feeling like.
I used those parts off of amazon!
https://www.amazon.ca/Funturbo-Nintendo-Multi-Angle-Adjustable-Compatible/dp/B07CGCL449/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1543934310&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=Funturbo+Nintendo+Switch+Stand%2C+Foldable+Multi-Angle &dpPl=1&dpID=41NEx5lRMrL&ref=plSrch
Cutted the stand for it to fit the shape of the GC controller, and bolted everything together using small nuts and bolts I had at home! I also dismantled a GC controller adapter to fit it in that small black box, that way I dont have to deal with the long wires and huge connectors
It's actually three OG GCN controllers, two sideways Joy Cons, one Pro Controller, and one of those Hori Zelda usb controllers.
Then I realized I needed one more, so I downloaded this app to my tablet and used that to move Incineroar around to combo off of.
I know this might be still kinda expensive, but here, you can get both for less than the price of one official one.
Nintendo licensed the one by PowerA. I picked one up the other day and it’s pretty solid so far.
Edit: Link They seem to be out of stock on amazon but my target had some in stock
Disney collaborated with Nintendo and launched a thematic Switch in Japan that had a little Mickey on both the Dock and the Home Button, so they already let Nintendo use their IP for something. I think they have a good enough relationship to at least have Sora as a Mii Costume.
amazon is where I got mine, this is the third party one I got for my pc 18 months ago. No issues with it at all.
I have big hands and the beat purchase I made was something like this.
Satisfye - ZenGrip Pro, a Switch Grip Compatible with Nintendo Switch - Comfortable & Ergonomic Grip, Joy Con & Switch Control. #1 Switch Accessories Designed for Gamers. BONUS: 2 Thumbsticks https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FNJJG5V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_RW0SGB26N759XDP15HAM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Are you using an adapter for the Xbox controller? I have two of these for my switch and they work great! You can only control one controller per adapter though. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079B5KHWQ/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_LPYaGb10E9096
Glad you enjoyed it! I use this capture card as well as a blue yeti mic along with OBS studio which is free if I remember.
It looks like a Gameboy cartridge that has inputs, so it may actually be possible to use it as a TV.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MBNVQW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_cL16FbSWSSPJY is something similar but a different design
I have this and the Switch treats it as a ‘USB’ controller (looks like a pro controller on the controller menu)
There smaller one’s that you could use also compatible with switch
Mines just also compatible with PC
And they’re made to be true to old arcade fighting games, you don’t need one, but I highly recommend if you’re trying to do inputs on any game with command inputs
Yes, but I just googled a bit. It seems like the Nintendo Switch supports USB Hubs, meaning you could just buy any USB hub and if it doesn't work you could always send it back. Just do it through Amazon.
Why not just get the official switch adaptor they made? It costs the same and is available on Amazon. I’d trust that over some 3rd party adaptor.
Just order on Amazon. Mine already came in.
GameCube Controller Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Edition https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DJX3Y47/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_XPkaCb5F00NA7
USB C - USB (Amazon) you can!!
Two possibilities : - The NFC tag of the Amiibo is broken - The NFC reader of your controller is broken
To check if your Amiibo is working and if you have an Android phone, you can download the NFC tools app from the Play Store and try to read your Amiibo with it. If the app is showing "Platform: Amiibo" and under this you have the correct type of Amiibo written, the problem come from your controller.
Also, with the latest system update of the Switch, an update is also available to the controllers, so try to update your controller from the settings.
The reviews and star rating look good but I am still a bit doubtful (from previous experiences).
This is the link to the one I want, if you could tell it's safe, it will be helpful.

Like a year ago or two, this is pretty much one that was recommended alot by some channels like spawn wave and such.
I got one myself and never had any issues with it so far. (tested on my switch and old laptop)
I get 240 mbps download and about 40 mbps upload with this thing on switch and havent experience any spikes unless my opponent is at mcdonalds.
Under 20 bucks too.
I really enjoyed the Hori Battle Pad. It feels really great! The texture on the handles makes it very comfortable to hold (and it's way less likely to slip out of your hands if you sweat a little while playing, like I do). The sticks are very fluid and responsive and the D-pad is a bit larger too, which is nice. The original GameCube controller had a tiny D-pad.
The shoulder buttons are way faster to press all the way down, and there's an extra bumper too (ZL and ZR instead of just Z). It has plus, minus, Home and screen capture buttons like a Pro Controller and there's even a turbo button if you're into that.
Wired controllers are also known to have a bit less input lag than wireless controllers. If you're very serious about competitive Smash, it might be worth considering.
EDIT: Forgot to mention it's only a little over €22 (or $25), so it's relatively cheap as well!
Firstly: Please get an ethernet adapter; that's the primary reason you have so much input delay. The difference really is night and day, particularly if your internet isn't really fast to begin with. This one is $19 on Amazon. I have it and it's wonderful.
A different controller won't make the online experience better, but it will be much easier to play the game. Most people use either an analog gamecube controller with an adapter, or a USB plug-in controller with the gamecube layout. A pro controller would work fine as well, but I'd recommend something in the gamecube layout; it was literally designed for smash bros.
As for getting salty: most people get salty when they care about winning and then lose, particularly if they lost for reasons outside their control. To counteract this, focus on what you can do. Since you're still relatively inexperienced with the game, just try to learn and get better when you play. GSP is just as easy to gain as it is to lose, so don't worry if you lose for a BS reason. But again, an ethernet adapter and a better controller will massively improve your online experience - especially that ethernet.
I ordered the 8bitdo Ultimate bluetooth controller (the only one with hall effect sensors) will be here on wednesday.

Purchase a power A controller, they're affordable and amazing quality, they also have some cool designs
This is really vague but I think you mean the link where I bought it so here
You just get them shipped https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Controller-Super-Smash-Bros-switch/dp/B07HC2F97Q/ref=pd_aw_fbt_sccl_2/133-2079549-9963215?pd_rd_w=OY7Sk&content-id=amzn1.sym.b6e57bf5-2054-445a-8980-1886178987a5&pf_rd_p=b6e57bf5-2054-445a-8980-1886178987a5&... Amazon has them. These things are pretty much the same thing as the og GameCube controller, most melee players hate it, but the ultimate players say it's just fine, and I agree, it's almost exactly the same. Also gc controllers are like 120$ :(
Ideally, get a real one. This one is solid and is relatively inexpensive compared to original GC controllers out there on the market, and is an official Nintendo product.
Thanks for the comments everyone! I really appreciate it 🙏🏼
Here is the link for the setup I bought! It has a camera that attaches to the top of your tv and will change colors depending what’s on the screen! It’s so awesome!!
Govee TV LED Backlights with... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LVPWQQP?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Benefits of pro controller: * More buttons to use (mainly ZL, but also plus/minus/R3/L3) * The ability to unbind buttons like D-pad to avoid accidental taunts, or remap other buttons * Better trigger buttons * Wireless mode is easier outside of tournament settings (wired is more stable in large tournaments but adds 1 extra frame input delay) * No need for adapter * More ergonomic in my opinion * You can use the stick calibration option to check notches, snapback, and drift * You can install octagonal gates yourself for about $25 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095NRM8FB) * Better for other switch games (you might be more used to it)
Benefits of a GCC: * Maybe lasts longer * Cheaper * No risk of interference in big tourneys * 1 frame less input delay compared to wired pro controller
If you're dead set on getting a GameCube controller, I'd recommend the official one. They're only available as Japanese import from Amazon (that I could find) so pick a seller with a high reputation to avoid getting a knockoff.
If you're not already accustomed to using GameCube controllers, honestly stick with a Pro Controller. Most people who are diehard GameCube controller fans have used them for the last couple decades like myself. The Pro Controller is just as good in every way, minus the one exception that I think the octagonal gates of GC are better, but overall the Pro Controller is a great controller.
If you have another controller you like using, that's fine too. You definitely don't have to use the GameCube controller, you can use whatever feels right to you.
But to answer your question if you really want a GC controller, I always go first party.
Is there a question or something in here? The controller pictured is a decent controller, not that rare, available at Amazon for about $50 new. I think the biggest thing from what I can see is that the Triggers aren't analog, so you have to fully depress them before they register.
I personally would never buy a used controller as controllers have a habit of either being slightly off calibration, buttons can register improperly, etc.
I 100% recommend anyone to get a first party controller like this (from a reputable Market seller so you don't get a knockoff). This model is a little bit lighter and not quite as sturdy feeling as the OG GC controllers, or even the Smash 4 one, but I have a couple and they work great and feel great.
If you're trying to sell the controller featured in your post, sorry for slandering it and good luck selling it! It's a good price. (But you should have posted that it was yours, otherwise it looks like you're looking for advice on it.)
You can buy the chips and make your own Amiibo as long as your phone has NFC (if you have Android, Google "TagMo"). This chips are small stickers so you could probably just stick it in the bottom and paint over it.
if you’re spending the money to buy a pro controller i would go the extra mile and just get an OEN Gamecube controller or this is the one i see most top smash pros use. i find the notches make a pretty big difference in the amount of misinputs i get, but at the end of the day whatever controller feels most comfortable to you should be the one you go with, as i see plenty of people at locals doing perfectly fine with a pro.
This is the one I got a while back: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SBTK4QH/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_E118H5YNV2Y9TJ0A30F2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 It's around 40 bucks, and is capable of 1080p 60fps. I've mostly used it for streaming to discord but have also used it to record clips. Much better quality then transferring off the SD card. Had it for almost a year now, no issues.
If you're referring to this on Amazon, it looks like it only contains the first pass (Joker, Hero, Banjo & Kazooie, Terry, and Byleth).
So if I remember correctly your issue was Joy-Con drift. I just realized that you can buy a single joy con for like 30 bucks (after a quick google search). Pro controllers are nicer though.
Just recently I got this particular controller on Amazon. I realized that this controller seems to only be available in Europe, so I found this controller for the Amazon US-website that seems to just be the one I have, same design and all, but the little text in the middle is missing. I'm just going to assume it is the same controller but under other licensing or something like that.
The controller is really nice, it has rumble, can be used wireless, and it gets recognized as an X-Box controller on your PC, so you can use it without any issue for PC Gaming. It does miss the amiibo scanner but you can probably just use your old Joy-Con for that. For the price of 30€ or $, it doesn't matter, literally same price, this is an great controller.
I donno what exactly you consider "cheap" but there's this one on Amazon, I got because it looked cute honestly, but it's only like 30 dollars versus the Nintendo which is like 70(?) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08QHJ1Q38/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_QZH2X20P7SFFDFV4KM8D?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Would've is a perfectly legitimate contraction. Some sources: Cambridge Dictionary and Grammarist.
Oh, and plus he can use his Chain of Light as his grab! That also means another fighter who uses a tether, like Byleth or Isabelle! I found that speculation from this document by u/Hoenn_Horns, you have GOT to read this, it's so cool! https://www.docdroid.net/BvpAbHj/hypothetical-super-smash-bros-ultimate-concept-tabuu-challenger-pack-pdf
Just over $100 US. It's served me well so far!
As far as software, it's just OBS.
This adapter is what most tournaments use due to a shortage and the price of the official Nintendo adapter. This adapter also works on pc for other games right out of the box.
You suck at the game op just admit it and get better

Good small read that helps a lot. Get use to losing in the beginning. The people you play know a lot more so it just takes playing alot to get better. Save your marches and watch them and see what you could have done better for each interaction. Watch YouTube videos of sets to have a feel how to move and carry yourself.

If it has a microSD slot you can- of course it all depends on your model. If there isn’t a slot that’s no problem- there are plenty of adapters (I personally use this one) out there that should be able to work with the cards.
I just don't know where else to link dump. So I'm gonna do it. Mods, please tread on me if my life decision is inappropriate.

Can we have a serious discussion about how awesome it is that the trailer has brought out so much creativity?
I love this game series from the bottom of my heart and it really warms my heart to see that other people out there are just as crazy about it as I am.
What kind of internet connection you have?
Latency is the only important value here. Your loaded latency is great, being only 2ms higher than unloaded. Measuring latency is kind of problematic, because it’s a measure between your device and another device and it depends on where that other device is located. Try using Speedtest.net instead as it may have servers closer to you.
If there’s nothing wrong with your WiFi network, using Ethernet instead will reduce round trip time by about 20ms. You can test that by pinging your router.
I use Fox as a secondary but my Fox is like a 7.5/10 at the moment. If you really need to learn more about Fox’s neutral are train with some actual skilled Fox players checkout the Fox Discord https://discord.com/invite/EDJbQzY
I got 2 of these a few years ago and they’ve held up pretty well. Can’t nail them to your wall but they would sit on a desk just fine. One of them fits about 6 amiibo on each level, depending on the size.

If that's still too expensive, I'm sorry. That said, I think the Pro Controller is bad for Smash. I can play well on both, but I'll take the GameCube controller all day.
Before anyone tries to say that I'm jaded, this is my first Smash game.
Don’t get that one get a plain one The character design ones have the weird hybrid triggers. It means that they are digital triggers that are just wide. Like it doesn’t have the spring action or the like click when it’s all the way down. It’s really hard to explain but they are like pro controller triggers pretending to be GameCube triggers and it feels aweful.
Yes I mean L1. It has two bumpers instead of the regular 1 on 99% of gc controllers.
That second to last sentence is j semi advanced movement tech.
I use the PowerA one.
Sure!! I got it off of Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NFH1JMB/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glc_fabc_QB8TFFQCWF9Y7WVVYQ9B

A powerline adapter such as this one
May be helpful. They won't work for everyone since it is dependant on how the electrical circuits are set up on the house, but it should help many who are unable to wire Ethernet cable for whatever reason.
If you want a wireless gamecube controller your best bet is to buy 8bitdo wireless adapter for a gamecube / wii controllers or an old school wavebird... both will add lag to your inputs
I was thinking of doing the same until I found this on another sub https://www.amazon.de/dp/B08NPSR3JQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_H4MHKQXTKM92BRM28NXX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
EDIT: Seems like the same product
Power A's wireless Gamecube styled controllers are great, but I prefer Exlene's version here it's also a quality and accurate build and unlike Power A's version, Exlene's actually includes rumble. Sadly they sell no such 4 pack of course.
First one is true. I've noticed people who pick up Shulk for the first time tend to massively misuse arts. A lot of beginner Shulk mains spam speed art nair and they miss out on so much free damage since speed art applies a 0.7x damage dealt modifier. The simple fact is if I wanted to be carried by a character, I wouldn't pick Shulk. Shulk has some of the most nasty bullshit but you need to spend time getting used to it and learning to use it.
Second one, yeah. Shulk is so bad on WiFi. His ledgetrapping offline is real good, but slow frame data means online you have to guess rather than react.
Third. I actually think Shulk is one of the more complex characters after talking with people. I don't agree with the tech being necessary, though stuff like Buffered Deactivation is so important. But the hard thing really is just how you play neutral. This has been my focus lately as I ask myself which arts I should be using and why. For ages I just went "this art will work now" and used it, but I think that's a big mistake. For example, a lot of people pop speed but then don't watch their art cooldowns so they can't string that into anything. Why bother activating speed without buster or smash on cooldown? And then, why activate buster without shield (or smash at low %s). Art management is tricky. You can't just throw an art because it works in the moment. You need to think about whether it would be better to use that art now, or in 6 seconds when you might have another art off cooldown.
What lan adapter are you guys using? Wouldn't using the official one steal a usb slot so I'll lose rumble functionality with a GC controller adapter?
What about something like this?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014ZOJX7W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_55F0TT89KKS7NCSGBJ76
Jesus dude, are your thumbs made of sandpaper?
Thanks for the substantive answer, and for the tip on PG's controller. Have you heard anything about this controller, sold by Nintendo Japan? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HC2F97Q
GameCube and Pro Controller both have their advantages and disadvantages. If you want a GC, buy it here. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HC2F97Q/
As of this post, there are 4 left, but they restock all the time.
I use a rather generic Capture card and one of the low end blue yeti microphones. Not the best, but it gets the job done lol
wait, what? Pretty sure Super Smash Brothers Ultimate is 60 dollars.
https://www.amazon.com/Super-Smash-Bros-Ultimate-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01N5OKGLH
Well 49 dollars. -- But it is DLC-- Optional content. While it is not unheard of for Devs to release Free DLC content, I don't believe people expect it unless we were told otherwise. It isn't exactly news that DLC for Smash would cost money.
Dunno homie.
You are not understanding: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Internet-Officially-Licensed-wii-u/dp/B01N6S068R
This thing makes a huge difference. Wifi is wifi, but this is a hard wired connection and way more stable
Might be the adapter, I recommend getting this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MYT481C?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Also I find sometimes that some ethernet ports have better connections than others so try switching the ports from time to time
Players like you are the reason posts like this one are made every month. You may not feel the lag but your opponent will. Wi-Fi is inconsistent, no matter how much you say "but i don't feel it !".
A LAN adapter costs 15$. But if you're playing on a Switch lite then there's this alternative for 30$. It can even charge while you're playing. https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-CharJenPro-Stingray-Portable-Nintendo/dp/B07YSCQQX6/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=nintendo+switch+ethernet+charger&qid=1606867692&sr=8-4
But sure. Keep making excuses.
I bought this one off Amazon and haven't had a single problem with it on PC or Switch

How much cheaper are you looking for? PowerA made a controller called the Enhanced Wireless Controller. It's cheaper than the official Pro Controller, and it's actually a little bit better in my opinion:
It has some drawbacks, mainly in the form of no rumble, no ability to play wired, and no rechargeable batteries (it takes two AA batteries,) but it's still a really good controller. The two buttons on the back can be linked to most of the other buttons on the controller, which can be handy. You could set one of those buttons to R or ZR and have an extra grab button or something. Setting the buttons can be a bit cumbersome, but once it's set up, it helps! It's also more ergonomic than the official Pro Controller in my opinion.
I use this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Ethernet-Gigabit-10-100-1000-Compatible/dp/B00AQM8586
I should warn you that smash barely uses any bandwidth at all so having 200+ mbps compared to like 20 mbps isnt gonna be much different. Both players need a consistant connection to have a good experience and since most play on wifi, you can probably see where this becomes a big issue.
I would test the lan adapter on your pc to see if theres actually any issues with it first. And remember that you have to set it to a wired connection to use the lan adapter on switch.
The Smash Ultimate gamecube controllers are out of print in the US, so supply on them was very limited. If you find any that are new, they're going to have jacked-up prices.
If you don't mind waiting a until January, Nintendo is doing a reprint on the controllers in Japan only, and you can order them off Amazon Japan. They'll ship to the US, and it comes out to about $28 after shipping, which is very reasonable for a brand new controller.
Not uh oh yet, because 256 GB microSD Cards are being discounted on Amazon. I ordered one yesterday AND GOT FREE SHIPPING!
Oh just get it on Amazon! Be warned about the price.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/0744019044/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_mHybEbYYSWMN0
There's a standard version though, which costs far less.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/0744019036/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_apa_i_EIybEbRB30AVD
Should’ve cleared this out more, mb. On Amazon, you can buy the DLC fighters without having to buy the full pass. You can buy them separately as shown here with Terry’s. I’m trying to find the one with Steve (who is Challenger Pack 7) but can’t seem to find him. Sorry for not clearing up on this in the post.
Also if you have spare iPads or tablets, something that might help with stage banning if you want to go that route:

If you want to become better at the game in general, than as another person said, learning the terminology will help you a lot in understanding the game better, as now you're more well-informed in what people mean when they say "DI", "Buffered short hop," etc. Also try learning things you struggle with in training mode, like perfectly timing a full-hop aerial, spacing, etc. For your main specifically, Marth, look up a guide on how to use him. IzawSmash has a good video on this, but for basic tips learning Marth's sweet spot range, learn how to space with him, try doing some of his early kill confirms. Also try sticking to Marth for a little while, it'll help you become better as you now have a solid, reliable character to use and he's one of those characters whose gameplay and playstyle helps you learn how to be better at the game in general, like teaching you how to read opponents. I'm not a smash pro by any means, but practicing this should help you get a good head-start at the game. Remember that Smash is a deceiving game, it's easy to pick up and learn, but the skill-ceiling seems to never end. It also seems that you're having a problem that most people get when they're new to a game, they see how fun a game is when your good at it, want to do that themselves, but when they feel like they don't become better it discourages them. Try not to push yourself to instantly become a better player, when I first started to play competitively, it took me a long amount of time to learn the basics, start improving, etc. So basically don't over-exert yourself to smash.
TL:DR; git gud
Actual TL:DR; Learn the terms, learn the fundamentals, learn your character, and have fun and try not to push yourself.
Shulk should probably go up a tier. I think he just does too much wacky shit to justify being anywhere below top-tier.
Shulk literally says "the rules of the game do not apply to me" and you just kinda gotta respect that.
Generally speaking, the better the player gets, the more crazy stuff you start to see. I've recently started implementing a tech called "Buffered Deactivation" into my gameplay a lot more and it's wild. You can get kill confirms off Buster and the best part is that nobody expects them. I'm hoping to implement Dial Storage eventually but it's not easy tech to implement.
It's very important that you learn the kill confirms. I mainly use DTilt to USmash at around 90%, or drag down UAir to USmash on platforms that USmash will reach (also worth learning how to raindrop).
Other than that, at low percents, if the opponent doesn't DI properly, just FTilt Buffered FAir chain until they're off stage, other wise you will need to learn how to you tilts to position them ideally for another ariel if they start DI'ing. FThrow to Bouncing Fish (Down B) works until about 30ish% with any DI (correct me if I'm wrong), but that will do about 20-30% from 0 if the grab is combos into off a landing FAir.
My knowledge lacks on what to do from 40-60%, but around now is when UAir will start becoming useful. I guess around this rang is when your advantage state will end, or you can bait and punish opponent moves as Sheik is very good at catching jumps.
Practice FTilt UAir chains at around 60% for most characters, that can get the opponent to about 80% from just that alone and then you can start thinking about the kill confirms.
Sheik requires a lot more practice to be good at then any other character in the game as her neutral is very combo based. However, once you put the work in, she is insane, just look at Void when he pops off (I'd suggest watching the Void vs Zachary game at Frostbite either this year or last year, I can't remember).
With Joker at Mario starting at 30%
Shorthop---->Fastfall---->Fair---->Dash(1-3 frames)---->Buffered Up air--->Fastfall---->Grab---->Downthrow---->Dash(1-3 frames)---->Buffered Up Air---->Fastfall---->Grab---->Downthrow---->Full Hop----> Up Air.
Buffered shorthop aerials aren't exactly a bad habit, they have their applications such as using them as out of shield options, its just that falling aerials are much safer and let you apply pressure better. You just have to short hop and wait a bit before you input an attack so you can fastfall it. It might seem impossible but its not, it just takes a bit to get the muscle memory down. Go into training mode for like 20 minutes just doing shorthops / fastfalls / fastfall aerials and you'll see how easy it is after a while.
Shulk's absolutely busted in this game lol.
His matchup chart is very good with very few losing matchups (Pikachu is the biggest one). His disjoint is enough to invalidate a load of other characters. He's not nearly as difficult as people say (tech isn't nearly as important as in Smash 4, just learn Buffered Deactivation and you can get by on fundimentals), he has a lot of moves that will kill you at a decent % without Smash activated (bair, f-tilt, up-B at ledge, dair) and Monado Arts is the best neutral B in the game.
He has weaknesses. The startup on his moves could be better and he could have better OOS options. But his startup is mostly mitigated by good spacing. And having a few downsides for some extremely good upsides is a fair trade imo.
I've said for a while that Shulk is top 5, but I'm starting to come around on him being top 3. I think people play him down too much, citing either difficulty or frame data. But he's not that hard, and his moves don't need perfect frame data when they're all so safe (although nair being - 3 is amazing lol)
1) This may be obvious, but play the tutorial. It won't teach you anything in the way of combos or advanced techniques, but knowing the controls and being able to execute the right command in a split second is the most important thing.
2) Choose a character with a relatively simple moveset and not a ton of focus on combos or technicalities. (King K. Rool, Donkey Kong, Little Mac, Lucina, Bowser all have pretty easy to grasp moveset). Unless you absolutely hate a character, don't move on too fast and give each character a fair chance.
3) Once you're comfortable with the controls and what type of character you lik, look up some general, non-character specifics techniques such as Fast Falling, Teching, Buffered inputs, etc.
4) Look up character-specific guides for combos, kill confirms, etc.
I will save you the hassle of having to find one that works and has USB3.0. My only complaint, is it's not metal. With that being said, it's USB3.0, and Gigabit w/ External Connection. Makes a night and day difference
I've had an excellent experience with the amazonbasics one

You'll connect the USB end into your switch dock and an ethernet cable will connect the other end to your router
Having never used an Arduino, I was able to get it set up pretty easily. The software you would want to use with it is called Amiibomb, and it has a setup guide on their homepage that is pretty nice for figuring out the connections to make between the Arduino and the NFC writer.
One thing I forgot to add a link to is basic connector pin cables, so here is a link to the ones I used, although you may want to go with a smaller pack if available, as this one has a lot of cables in it.

gamecube controller for switch

if you are European they are only £20/ 30 euros
Does your house have electrical outlets? You can use them as ethernet wires if you get the right adapter.
I have this one and it works wonders. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-AV600-Powerline-Ethernet-Adapter/dp/B00AWRUICG?ref_=Oct_s9_apbd_otopr_hd_bw_b50jE&pf_rd_r=JNJR914M34QWTXFE53TF&pf_rd_p=3680d498-17b2-51ba-bf7b-b52e6326eff7&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-10&pf_rd_t=BROWS...
Ahhh that's so rough man. It's the PowerA Wireless: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Wireless-Controller-GameCube-PowerA/dp/B07GXGK3G7
It's not perfect but it can be much more precise for directional inputs and that's why it's favoured by a lot of pros. I found one for £30 on amazon when I bought it so not as expensive as a pro controller either.
The best wireless GameCube controller I've used for smash is the 8bit do gbros adapter. It requires a normal GameCube controller, but works as a switch pro controller so you can use it for almost any switch game. You can buy it on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JLF9PVG
