Y'know they've literally already made that game, right?
Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall. It's all set in High Rock.
This is only half true. The free update gives existing players three pieces of free content, fishing, survival mode, and saints and seducers.
The Anniversary Upgrade is not free and you'll be required to pay. It offers 500 pieces of Creation Club content.
Direct quote: Existing owners of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also receive the option to purchase an Anniversary Edition upgrade for their Special Edition version of the game to gain access to all the additional content found in the Anniversary Edition.
Build, upgrade and manage your own farmstead in the heart of Whiterun. Elect a steward to oversee its day-to-day operation and purchase upgrades such as animal pens, windmills, apiaries and stables. Whether it's building a commercial empire, growing crops or working with animals, there are no shortage of gameplay options here. Created by Virginia “Steelfeathers” Smith. (The “The Unquiet Dead” quest starts by investigating Goldenhills Plantation, east of Rorikstead.)
Since I can't pick only one out of all the games I've played, here are a few:
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 - Best DnD based RPG, hands down. Great story, great combat, great villains, dated but still beautiful graphics.
Morrowind - Great story, one of the best RPGs of its time, and even now (dated combat system tho, but that was never the main charm of Elder Scrolls games, anyway).
Initium - A really, really addictive browser based MUD-like game. It may look simple, but it is far from that. It has a small community, so it can be quite dramatic sometimes, but then there's no better feeling than looting the dead body of someone you had an argument with.
This picture is actually pretty old, since the last version of Elder Scrolls website.
It is used as the artwork for <em>Arena</em>'s page (each game has an artwork like that), and thus represents an arena. The design is reused for the arena in the upcoming Blades.
And personally I don't think it looks like the ruin in ES6 trailer, especially its environment, that is nothing alike.
Daggerfall is already a free download on Bethesda's site, for everyone else.
It was a brilliant game at the time, but the gameplay has aged very poorly, I am sad to say. The controls are clunky as heck and combat is not exactly enjoyable. The dungeons are repetitive nightmare mazes of twisty corridors and generic rooms and you WILL get lost, sometimes for hours. Some dungeons are buggy and can't be finished without cheating (no main quest dungeon, thankfully). Really, the whole game is full of bugs; glitching off the map is a thing, so much so that in the final patch the developers gave up and just added a shortcut to put you back on your last known on-map position.
That said, the plot is amazing and the way it's distilled in seemingly disconnected missions for this or that member of this or that faction is brilliant. The world FEELS huge in a way the series has never managed again. You'll constantly be sent to places you've never been before, and you'll have to ask your way around to find your destination, literally. Books mention legends that you can decide to track down to see if they're true, and in some case they are. You can and should devise your own custom spells tailored precisely to your character skills and quest needs. Seasons pass. Rumors hint at the alliances or betrayals of a hundred minor factions and a thousand local nobles that you'll never even meet. The world feels alive in a way that doesn't revolve around you. Unlike pretty much the entire rest of the series, there is nothing prophetic about you; you're just some random that gets to have a shadowed hand in the politics of the Illiac Bay at first, and later, as the plot reveals the full breadth of its scope, the History of Tamriel.
I very strongly recommend giving it a chance, let's say for a few hours. If you can stomach the dungeons, or maybe are content to cheat your way through them, then try and finish it. It's worth it.
>Existing owners of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also receive the option to purchase an Anniversary Edition upgrade for their Special Edition version
Yes
The official article on Bethesda.net says, “Current and future owners of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition on any platform including Xbox Game Pass Subscribers will receive access to three free pieces of Creation Club content: Fishing, Survival Mode and even new quests with Saints and Seducers.”
The “over 500 pieces of unique content from Creation Club” is part of the Anniversary Edition, which is paid
Hi all,
Just an FYI - You can download this image in the blue version shown or a red version on the Elder Scrolls official site as a wallpaper and/or as alternative covers for your copy of Skyrim on Switch or PSVR.
https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/skyrim/downloads/
Thanks
dont worry it isnt free. we can still appease Godd.
There's this on the Bethesda website but that requires an emulator so I use this version (DaggerfallSetup.exe) that comes with the emulator as well as unofficial patches and other handy stuff.
Yes, yes, and no.
Because the update was built with a newer version of Visual Studio, expect many existing PC mods to break. Backing up files, telling Steam to update only when you launch through Steam, and then only launching through a mod loader like Mod Organizer 2 is the best bet to preserve games that use current Skyrim Script Extender mods.
The full Anniversary Edition will include all current Creation Club content, and some items that have not been released yet. People will be able to buy the game in full, or just the upgrade to their current Special Edition, for an unknown price.
Doesn't look to be free for PC. The article by Bethesda states that only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S owners will get a free upgrade, and that other platforms only get three Creation Club content for free.
This info has also been included in Bethesda's article on Skyrim 10th Anniversary, just incase anyone cared for a source outside Discord.
Looking forward to seeing what's to come.
Interestingly you have to purchase an upgrade to the gamepass version to get everything. The free update will include 3 CC items.
I don't have gamepass, but that sounds kind of unique for a gamepass game.
They haven't detailed what the next-gen upgrades are yet, just that there will be some.
However, considering there's already a 60fps mod for SSE on PS4/5, I can't imagine they would release the PS5 version at 30fps.
A few years ago Bethesda re-released them as part of a commemorative event. Can't remember what for. You can get them off the website for free, but you need to run them in DOS. Here's daggerfall: https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/daggerfall/ And here's Arena: https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/arena/
Nope, all of it.
>The Anniversary Edition includes Skyrim Special Edition and 74 creations, all 48 currently available and 26 to be released.
We don't specifically know what it will be yet.
The post on Bethesda's website says, "over 500 pieces of unique content from Creation Club, including pre-existing and new quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons, spells and more!"
Bottom of the announcement says SE owners can purchase an upgrade to AE. So not free sadly.
I know you're probably trying to be funny by referencing Elder Scrolls Blades ironically, but c'mon...Bethesda was so understanding of the joke that Skyrim was on everything that they even made the Very Special Edition on Alexa. It's to the point that no one expects much from Bethesda other than Skyrim on the latest mainstream device. If it happens to be a toaster, no one would bat an eye.
The big difference in this case is that Blades was followed by an actual announcement of a proper ES6 that people wanted. If you were a fan that didn't care for Blades on mobile, you still got what you wanted.
Blades was announced at an Apple presentation. For Apple fans. They presented to the right audience.
Blizzard didn't do that with the Diablo announcement but instead kinda just piled on the letdown in their responses. Presenting a mobile game at Blizzcon to a pretty much strictly PC audience was stupid.
oh thank god, the Skyrim Anniversary upgrade is only $20 for people that already own Special Edition. Looks like they have articles describing all of the new Creation Club stuff they're adding, too.
I think you are mistaken. From Bethesda's own article on Skyrim's 10th Anniversary >The Anniversary Edition includes Skyrim Special Edition and 74 creations, all 48 currently available and 26 to be released. These showcase over 500+ individual elements such as quests, items, armor, houses, etc.
Bottom of the announcement says SE owners can purchase an upgrade to AE. So not free sadly.
Directly from their own FAQ about the game.
"Yes! Owners of Skyrim Special Edition or the Anniversary Edition on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will receive a next-generation upgrade for the game. The upgrade will be free and optimize the game. The upgrade will be free and optimize the game with enhanced graphics, faster loading times and more."
It seems that they are adjusting that.
"In November, we’re also adjusting all Creation Club quests, both old and new, to no longer initialize on startup. We’re aware some players found the rush of quests with a new character to be overwhelming, especially those who have many creations. Thankfully, with so much content available, it’s now easy to encounter these organically while adventuring across Skyrim, so we wanted to bring this experience in line with the rest of the game. If you do want to pursue a particular creation, instructions are included in their store descriptions."
It's not a main series game, as per the elder scrolls website not even listing it.
Source: https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/
Asking people who like ES to play ESO is like asking people who like fallout to play Fallout Tactics.
Some like it, but it's not the experience they love the series for, hence, "Not a main game".
If you scroll down at https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/skyrim10, it only lists Xbox, PS and PC for the Anniversary Edition. The Switch may not actually get it, which would be a shame.
Arena and Daggerfall are free to download from Bethesda's website.
Unless you want the convenience of downloading it through GoG Galaxy you can download them here:
It and Arena have been free for awhile now. https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/daggerfall/
Somebody is remaking Daggerfall for Unity using the original game files. http://www.dfworkshop.net/ It turns out there's some nice views in the game but you can't see them because of the very low draw distance.
Here’s how it works:
All Special Edition owners will receive a free update for next gen consoles. Including Xbox. Four creation club items will also be free for ALL users. Then a separate fee of $20 can be paid to get the rest of the creation club items bundled up. I don’t know where you got your info but my info is directly from the Skyrim Anniversary Edition website
https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/article/5esC91g2ABY1jQ97uq39zW/skyrim-anniversary-edition-faq
Just a note, although it's convenient to have them tied to our GoG libraries/accounts, both games are also free downloads directly from Bethesda: Arena, Daggerfall.
True, but generally they don't actively work against other people picking up the work. Bethesda releases Daggerfall for free bundled with Dosbox these days. Even if they're not willing to support the product anymore they're showing that they are still interested in allowing people to play it. I don't think companies need to support old products indefinitely, but it is sad when they actively work against others who volunteer to support the products.
The base Special Edition received an update yesterday, whether you got the Anniversary Edition or not.
It is why this sub has been concerned about the "AE-pocalypse" since the update was announced in August.
There is good news for SKSE mods, there has already been an update to get some mods like SkyUI back in business, but they are still working on the more intricate ones that used things like the address library.
>Full game that will cost $45 USD
49.99 USD for the full version.
>Only reason to buy it is for fishing
Current SE owners get fishing for free.
From what I can tell, the tiles are going to be added in free to the Creation Kit, like they did with the root dungeon tiles, regardless if you buy the AE upgrade or not, so everyone can create Ayleid dungeons.
Edit: From the article on "The Cause" CC mod:
>Additionally, the Ayleid Ruin dungeon kit is being added to the base game as a free modders’ resource for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation systems, just like the Root Dungeon kit added in 2019. We can’t wait to see what new locations our amazing modding community designs with this new kit!
AE will not be a separate game. Besides "next-gen console update", whatever that means, it's just a ton of CC content.
It's more like a Definitive Edition, or GOTY game bundle.
>We’re also excited to announce the most definitive version of Skyrim to date: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition. The Anniversary Edition includes Skyrim Special Edition and 74 creations, all 48 currently available and 26 to be released. These showcase over 500+ individual elements such as quests, items, armor, houses, etc.
Both Arena and Daggerfall can be downloaded for free.
Arena is pretty rough and many elements are non canon. Download
Dagger fall is a lot of fun. Graphics are dated and random environments was a bit overwhelming. The six endings are awesome. And you can download it for free.
I have been playing a few games. The one I want to focus on right now is <strong>Daggerfall</strong>.
It's an interesting beast that I have chosen as my first Let's Play which I will shamelessly plug here. I used to play this game when I was a child but never really got all that far into the main quest. I always did the random dungeons and quests, paying no heed to the needs of the Emperor.
I was missing out. The story is full of intrigue, it gets really dark in places, and the handcrafted dungeons are a real treat - especially considering all I had played up until this year is the random stuff. It's incredibly refreshing to feel like I am in danger in a RPG dungeon. It's reminded me why I love old school gaming and honestly, after playing this, it's going to be hard for me to get back into RPGs with modern design sensibilities. There is a lot to be said for just trusting the player is smart enough to figure it out on his or her own. I miss that.
I've also been tossing around in <strong>Delver</strong>. A relatively unknown dungeon crawl/rogue alike game in the first person with charming chunky pixel art aesthetics, and with a soundscape that drowns you in atmosphere. It's stellar, a bargain for the price, and you should take a look.
~Taffer
Well, yes?
It is what they have been advertising since the initial announcement back in August.
(Even if it mostly makes me want to listen to It Just Works by the Chalkeaters again with the bugs people are experiencing.)
Some pretty cool looking horse armour :).

Edit: here you go I think this lits it
https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/article/REybYU3Gy2InVlHmus4UC/skyrim-10th-anniversary-fan-celebration
Hi!
Summary: Free => Visual enhancements + Fishing, Survival Mode and even new quests with Saints and Seducers
Paid => 74 creations, all 48 currently available and 26 to be released. These showcase over 500+ individual elements such as quests, items, armor, houses, etc (not including the 3 mentioned before)

No?
Been commenting here and on other related memes, but the full "Anniversary Edition includes Skyrim Special Edition and 74 creations, all 48 currently available and 26 to be released. These showcase over 500+ individual elements such as quests, items, armor, houses, etc."
The other item of note in Bethesda's post is that fishing is one of three freebies to Special Edition owners (the rest will be an upgrade or purchase for a currently unknown price). The other two items will be Survival and quests with the Saints and Seducers.
SSE will get the Fishing, Survival and Saints and Seducers Creation Club offerings free. Console owners also get a 'next gen' update.
The paid for version includes:
>the full game plus all three expansions and over 500 pieces of unique content from Creation Club, including pre-existing and new quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons, spells and more!
I wouldn't say 3rd edition, but it definitely have that old school dnd feel. You should check out daggerfall if you can, the influences from dnd are even more prevalent. I think it's free.
Here's the official free download link https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/daggerfall
Summer doesn't end until the next Tuesday, September 22nd, guys!
I recommend bookmarking Bethesda's news page and checking it every morning to see if there's a new town hall up.

Ah shit, here we go again
I'ts the free update for the 10th anniversary of Skyrim.
You get 4 Creation Club content for free, + if you are on Xbox Series/PS5 you get some graphical enhancements.
If you want to have the full Anniversary Edition upgrade, it's $20. (depend your country).
The latest FAQ they posted does not make this clear, it just talks about the paid for upgrade that includes ALL cc content. But yeah as someone else commented you get 4 (including fishing) for free.
I happen to have recently played the Saints & Seducers creation that is also one of the 4, and I really recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of Oblivion :)
With that many question marks, I can't tell if you are meme-ing or serious.
Free stuff
Paid stuff
There might actually be a few things that will be new, did a re-read of the post on Bethesda's site for the sake of making my own meme on the topic.
There will be "74 creations, all 48 currently available and 26 to be released. These showcase over 500+ individual elements such as quests, items, armor, houses, etc."
If you have the PS4 version, but play on a PS5? You should get the three free Creation Club items.
The full description is from Bethesda's post on their site, it is unclear if you would also get the enhanced version it references:
"Current and future owners of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition on any platform including Xbox Game Pass Subscribers will receive access to three free pieces of Creation Club content: Fishing, Survival Mode and even new quests with Saints and Seducers. Additionally, Skyrim Special Edition owners on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S, as well as Xbox Game Pass subscribers on Xbox Series X|S will receive a free upgrade to an enhanced version on November 11 for their respective PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S systems!"
I think that’s just saying fishing and a couple other creation club stuff is going to be free.
This page from Bethesda sounds like an upgrade will need to be purchased.
Only for PS5 and Xbox X|S users - everyone else looks like they'll need to purchase the upgrade.
"Skyrim Special Edition owners on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S, as well as Xbox Game Pass subscribers on Xbox Series X|S will receive a free upgrade"
"Existing owners of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also receive the option to purchase an Anniversary Edition upgrade for their Special Edition version of the game to gain access to all the additional content found in the Anniversary Edition."
I mean... unless there are multiple versions of the Anniversary Edition coming out... it seems like just the new console SSE owners get it for free.
After you complete the first couple of quests in the game, dragons become a random encounter that can attack you anywhere in the open.
So you can be a level 4 mage fighting it out with mudcrabs when a dragon suddenly flies by and rains a fiery death on your head.
>So, will there be any new creations coming to the Creation Club or is it done being added to?
They haven't said. There'll be more as long as they consider CC to be profitable.
>And if there will be new creations, will owners of the Anniversary Edition get them for free?
No. They were very clear on what AE was including.
"The Anniversary Edition includes Skyrim Special Edition and 74 creations, all 48 currently available and 26 to be released." -Source
The download is technically not an update to the game, it is a fresh install of the updated game.
It is the free portion of the Anniversary Edition that was announced back in August, which includes four pieces of Creation Club content, Survival, Fishing, Saints and Seducers, and Rare Curios.
If you pay $20, you can upgrade to having the other 70 items from the Creation Club (there were previously 48 items available total, 26 new ones were added).
Hopefully, the game behaves behaves itself, some people have had a positive experience... others, less so.
The free update bring Survival mode, Saint and Seducer quest, Rare Curios, and Fishing mode.
100% worth it.
Though if you play on any other platforms, the 10th anniversary edition just launched. It has all of the same content but with additional quests, items, and mechanics that were added via the Besthesda Creation Club (Think official modded content)
It's in the FAQ
>Is Skyrim getting a next-gen upgrade? > >Yes! Owners of Skyrim Special Edition or the Anniversary Edition on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will receive a next-generation upgrade for the game. The upgrade will be free and optimize the game with enhanced graphics, faster loading times and more.
There's nothing to transfer- AE is just SE and a creation club bundle.
Current owners of Special Edition get the Fishing, Saints and Seducers, and Survival Creation Club microtransactions free, with an option to buy the CC bundle that comes with the Anniversary edition. Prices have not been announced yet.
In addition, consoles are getting a free engine upgrade, to take advantage of the new-gen hardware.
For more information read the official release announcement: https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/article/REybYU3Gy2InVlHmus4UC/skyrim-10th-anniversary-fan-celebration
>Surely if there was some super cool new quest/mechanic they'd have teased it by now.
There isn't one. This is just another SE rerelease, this time with a bundle of Creation Club stuff included.
It's only a free upgrade to the PS5/Series version which comes with survival mode, fishing, and the Saints and Seducers pack, it's not a free upgrade to the anniversary edition which contains all the Creation Club stuff (including some that haven't been released yet).
Full details here.
No. Current owners just get the Fishing, Survival and Saints and Seducers Creation Club microtransactions for free. There'll be an "upgrade bundle" with the rest of the CC stuff available, but it won't be free (they haven't announced the price yet).
Not entirely though...
"Existing owners of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also receive the option to purchase an Anniversary Edition upgrade for their Special Edition version of the game to gain access to all the additional content found in the Anniversary Edition."
A few CC Content packs....
We’re also excited to announce the most definitive version of Skyrim to date: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition. In addition to the three free Creation Club items mentioned above, this version contains the full game plus all three expansions and over 500 pieces of unique content from Creation Club, including pre-existing and new quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons, spells and more!
You can download both from the official Elder Scrolls Bethesda site:
https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/arena
https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/daggerfall
Look into installing the Unity overhaul for Daggerfall, it basically remakes the entire game.
Dramatic title because I'm upset/passionate for this game...

>Take on limited-time Quests multiple times a week.
Yes, that’s the first point in the 1.8 patch notes. I didn’t want to believe Bethesda meant it literally.
We finally get new content (a new sub-game mode, even), but unlike jobs, Abyss, and Arena (where we can play as much as we want), Event Quests are time-gated.
Even the Sigil Shop is time-gated. You can’t even browse. All of the items simply go away.
To buy Lichkiller, a 899-Sigil-costing item (exclusive to the Sigil Shop, if you don't have luck crafting, tempering, and enchanting your own Dragonbone Longsword), you’ll have to do Event Quests every time they’re available for seemingly a whole month or longer* (Sigil rates TBD). That’s IF it doesn’t rotate in and out like other items do, because at that point, who knows when it’ll come back.
u/CVH, maybe you can tell me in public-relations speak how this isn't anti-consumer game design.
Edit: I don't even know if I care anymore, as this is what we've come to expect with this game since the beginning; just an awesome, anti-consumer game.
Supposed to be supported according to the FAQ page-
https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/blades/faq
What devices will Early Access support?
A: Our goal is to support as many Android and iOS devices as possible, and we will evaluate additional devices on an ongoing basis. The list of supported devices follows:
• iPhone 6s and newer
It's free, direct from Bethesda, now!
Arena is as well. I beat both of them my senior of High School, for the first time. When I was playing Daggerfall regularly I would get too distracted with being a burglar or mage and disregard Lady Brisienna to the point the main quest couldn't be pursued.

Bethesda marketed the game as fantasy adventure set in the TES world. Other people have tagged on RPG not Bethesda.

No mention of Role Playing on that site at all.
No it's not.
>If you already own Skyrim Special Edition, the MSRP for the Anniversary Upgrade on digital storefronts will be USD $19.99/EUR €19.99/GBP £15.99/AUD $29.95/RUB 1429 at launch.

Where did you find this list? I've searched on the Xbox Wire website and there is no mention about Skyrim Anniversary Edition coming to Game Pass this month. It's quite odd they didn't sponsor such a new addition, isn'it? Furthemore, this is from TES Official Website:

>Existing owners of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also receive the option to purchase an Anniversary Edition upgrade for their Special Edition version of the game to gain access to all the additional content found in the Anniversary Edition.

"The Anniversary Edition and Upgrade includes over 500 unique pieces of content from Creation Club, including quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons, spells, and more. With Creations, there is a lot more to discover." https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/skyrim10
The AE or the digital upgrade to AE will have all the CC. The fishing, survival mode, Saint & Seducers will be free for ALL Skyrim players on 11/11(possibly for a limited time). The graphical upgrade will be free for all Series S/X and PS5 player of all skyrim edition. These are the commonly accepted thought on this subreddit.
Here’s the announcement from Bethesda on their site. This portion confirms the free upgrades.
It's even worse than that. They include 500 mods from the creation club, many of which were buggy and poorly made on there own. Theres no way they tested them, considering they didn't bother testing vanilla skyrim or any of the DLC.
So now compatibility is fucked too, because every existing mod is going to have to work around these additions. Made a house mod outside riften? now for all you know bethesda might have slapped a creation club dungeon on top of it.
Im not really sure why they included the DLCs in their promotional stuff, they've already been included in special edition for years.
https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/skyrim10
also i can't find any info on whether this is actually an update or a separate game like special edition was.
Well in game he's the most powerful enemy since his level is 150 while Alduin is only 100
And like I said Bethesda personally confirms that Miraak is the LDB's deadliest adversary surpassing Ancano, Vyrthur, Harkon and so forth. He and the LDB are each equally stronger than Alduin.

No it is not. You get 3 items from the CC if you have the Special Edition already. For everything else you gotta pay for an upgrade.

>The Anniversary Edition includes Skyrim Special Edition and 74 creations, all 48 currently available and 26 to be released. These showcase over 500+ individual elements such as quests, items, armor, houses, etc.
It's just another SE rerelease, bundled with a bunch of creation club stuff.
Otherwise they wouldn't be planning on selling the 'addition content' separately for existing owners.
Anniversary Edition is NOT a free upgrade from Special Edition (SE), the version currently available on console.
There IS a free upgrade from SE to Next Gen SE, which does include three pieces of creation club content for ‘free’, but if you want to upgrade to Anniversary Edition with all the other creation club content you still have to pay.
Well as far as I know Morrowind (ES III), Oblivion (ES IV), and Skyrim (ES V) are all in the microsoft store for Xbox, and I'm sure you can find them on the steam website or elderscrolls website as well if ur playing on PC. Also, the older games like Arena (ES I) & Daggerfall (ES II) (along with Redguard & Battlespire) I believe are available for free PC/MAC download at the official site right here.

Sadly, these are existing quests that you've already completed. I don't know why the lines weren't appearing on your map before. The lines connect dots--those dots are quests or steps to quests (like level limits). The lines begin dashed, and as you complete them they become solid. If you tap on the dots you'll see the quests and their status. Here's the patch note that announced the map, and you can see the line system: https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/article/lwzO4hKNE6GvPokmdku5j/the-elder-scrolls-blades-patch-1-9-notes
The red are the quests for the Queen, the blue line are the Arena quests, the purple are the Thalmor and Henrik, and so on.
I assume you mean Daggerfall, which was the second ES game after Arena.
You can download Daggerfall for free from Bethesda's official site. I have no idea how well it works on modern hardware:
A quick google search suggests that you're the one who is lying.

"The biggest Elder Scrolls: Blades patch notes just got rid of the worst feature ever: chest timers. The microtransaction-pushing mechanic was excised from The Elder Scrolls: Blades in version 1.5 which dropped today, and the same update added other player-friendly changes to the way Blades awards loot as well as new social features. If you liked Blades but bounced off of it as soon as the timers started stacking up, you may want to give it another shot."
Maybe don't be so quick to call someone a liar if you're uninformed.
According to this other blog post, the Switch version is coming in "Spring 2020": https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/article/659YQpqfEiCFpQZEgcNB6O/the-elder-scrolls-blades-nintendo-switch-spring-2020
It would not surprise me if the 1.7 release is followed by at least an announcement of the official Switch port's release date.
I'd you don't mind old games, The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall with the unity patch, first game(arena) is also free but doesn't have a unity patch.
The unity patch allow mods, has some quality of life improvements, and made to work on modern systems. Original requires dosbox.
Ultima 4 is another free classic, well worth at least trying(no in-game journal etc, have to write things down yourself, fair warning ;)).

I have never read anything about the game being open world - nor has every Elder Scrolls game been open world. It was advertised as an Elder Scrolls game for mobile and it has delivered on that front.
If the game were fully released with all of the content complete as it stands today then yes it would be a failure but they are releasing content fairly quickly and it hasn't yet reached official release. The quest content is approaching the amount of content you'd find in many games released today. You can beat many A title games that cost $60 in 15-20 hours.
I'm just saying the game is on the right path - there are far worse games to complain about and there is nothing Blades does that is a real dissapointment to me. The combat is far better than every elder scrolls game I've played outside of ESO - and it is handicapped by being stuck on a Mobile platform across dozens of devices.
It's all good, I found this: https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/blades/faq
My phone isn't on the list of compatible devices yet, but apparently Bethesda are looking into more devices and trying to add them to the list as time goes on. Epic did the same thing with Fortnite on mobile. Also, I'm pretty sure I've had my phone for under a year. I think I got it back in January or February.
My PlayStore also said my Mi A1 is not compatible. But manually installing the APK directly from Apkpure/Apkmirror, it gets installed and run flawlessly.
I believe Play Store only filter in these supported devices https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/blades/faq And if you're not on the list, they just throw you out, even though your devices does have the resource to run the game itself
Short version: Daggerfall, Morrowind, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, Divinity: Original Sin II.
As you might already know, Daggerfall and Morrowind are both earlier TES games. Morrowind's dated, but if you can tolerate the jankiness associated with PC games from that era, it's a fun experience (and a couple mods can smooth it out a bit; look up Morrowind Graphics Extender and Morrowind Code Patch if you're interested). Daggerfall's even more dated and janky, but if you like DOS games, it's an interesting and somewhat different TES game, plus Bethesda has officially released it for free.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a real time RPG with a unique "pawn" system. You get a main character that you directly control, and main "pawn" that runs on AI, both visually customized to your liking. The other two members of your party are downloaded from other players (their main pawns), which you'll have to cycle out as they don't level up with you. Your main pawn's AI is influenced over time by how you play the game. Be warned that the game is designed for a gamepad, no idea how it controls with mouse & keyboard.
Finally - and this is a bit more of a stretch, since it's really only comparable to Dragon Age - if you enjoyed the tactical side of Dragon Age Origins, you might like Divinity: Original Sin II. It's a turn-based strategy RPG where you control a party of up to 4. Gameplay makes heavy use of combining effects; soak the floor with water, then electrify it with lightning magic, for example. The story's the other big highlight here: conversations are heavily influenced by your character's background, and similar to Dragon Age, your party members aren't just background characters. They will like or dislike the things you do and have stories of their own.
The first two are free to download on Bethesda's site. You can get Arena here and Daggerfall here. If you have Steam, you can get Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim in a bundle for a pretty decent price! Oblivion is my personal favourite content wise. The main story line is a bit hard to follow at times, and rather boring. But Skyrim is the most fun. The others are classics and equally enjoyable just because they feel so surreal. Hope this helps, and enjoy!
