Thanks so much! It was a fantastic company to work for, and I look forward to seeing what Ken does next. I have several sites, but this is a pretty complete collection right now: https://www.behance.net/ZoeBrookes
In an interview, Ken McClendon, the lead designer on Bioshock 2 (and namesake of McClendon Robotics in Minerva's Den), wanted to tell a new story without having to "mind-blow" people.
>We are hoping overall to have the same sort of emotional impact on people, but it's hard to just come out and say 'there's going to be a crazy twist.' We don't want to fall into the M. Night Shyamalan trap. The audience can't just be waiting for it.
I personally believe that a Bioshock game is about its themes and plots, but huge twists should not be one of its defining characteristics.
Yet in a strange coincidence, people seem to believe that Bioshock 2 and Episode 2 (the only games without twists) seem to have weaker stories.
Another Bioshock introspective examining Shyamalan-like twists
I have the same one! Got it two years ago. It’s by a merch company called The Coop and it’s currently $11 on Amazon, Walmart, or Target (need at least $35 for free shipping, it’s not Prime eligible unfortunately). Officially licensed though.

Best i could do to get the email correspondence between them https://wikileaks.org/sony/emails/?q=bioshock&mfrom=&mto=&title=&notitle=&date=&nofrom=&noto=&count=50&sort=0#searchresult
From what I understand, the 'good ending' in Bioshock 1 is now considered canon and the 'bad endings' are ignored. Ken Levine never intended to have multiple endings in BS1 until one of his bosses requested it late in development (source), so perhaps Ken used BAS2 to cement his vision of the storyline.
This can also be explained within Bioshock's mythology, using multiple universes. Assuming Elizabeth's visions in BAS2 showed Jack's 'good ending', perhaps she ignored universes where he wouldn't save all of the Little Sisters (or died in the plane crash), and focused on the universe where Jack would save them all. That said, we can only speculate.
Ken lays out his philosophy quite well when it comes to these questions in a Polygon interview here, which explains why so many questions were unanswered, but loosely implied. The relevant takeaway is: "We got some criticism about it being opaque, and my feeling is I'd much rather err on the side of giving people something to debate about in their head or with their friends, instead of saying, ‘No, no. This happened, that happened, that happened. That's why I haven't been out there telling people who ask me all the time —‘Is this his 122 time through the world?' and ‘What is this?' and ‘Is that Songbird in BioShock 1?' — I don't want to answer any of those questions because, frankly, I don't think it's very interesting for me to answer those questions. I'd rather have people figure it out themselves."
OP did say he got them in a Humble Bundle so you can't blame it on pirating.
I've never had any of the Bioshock games crash on me. Daikatana is a pretty old game. It's possible your hardware is not able to cope with the game. You can check if you meet requirements with Can you run it?
Hey, I got the three posters from Amazon and the masquerade poster from Irrational's store

Is this the place you got it from? The design looks awesome, but the price is a little steep :/ is it wearable?
The Columbia Harbor House is a restaurant at Disney World. OP most likely posted the picture due to the name.
The actual music file for the Bioshock main menu seems to be embedded in the BIK files.
GathererTeddyBear.bik can be played with BIK Player and if just the background menu animation with music.
The music files are encrypted, but can mostly be decoded with FSBExtractor.
For Bioshock 2 Multiplayer, the fsb files are located in Bioshock 2-> MP -> Content -> Sounds_Windows
The Arcadia ambient music for the multiplayer is de_arcadia_streaming_ambience_audio.fsb
The actual file is deararcadiateamusic.wav
Unfortunately, the software is somewhat imperfect and the extraction is somewhat corrupted.
Some files play perfectly, others slow down and speed up erratically. This one has prevalent static.
You can download the software yourself and try to get better results.
Actually, upon searching google, it's a DLC pack called "Captain Scarlet and her Pirate's Booty," and here's gameplay when you see Mr. Bubbles:
Thanks. I do but I use Behance instead and I have my own website. Behance has share links on projects but I'm not sure if it's linked to tumblr. I'll most likely add them to my old tumblr some time soon.

Unfortunately the game story had Fontaine progress into a business mogul rival to Ryan through him criminally abusing citizens and THAT conveniently (for the writers) all but being ignored in such a small place as Rapture (extortion and coercion are still crimes under Objectivism).
I never even heard of this book before. Anyone interested might wanna look at the reviews on Amazon to see what it apparently contains ...

The only other bit of official fiction is a tie-in to Infinite, called BioShock Infinite: Mind in Revolt, by Joe Fielder. You can get it as an ebook at Amazon.

Ok so spoke to Shayne @ VPNSecure live chat and he sorted it in minutes! Start VPN on AU Server, browse steam store for a few pages, stop VPN and browse store for few pages again, then turn VPN back on, when you browse to Bioshock it should be working. Kudos for great customer support!
The game saves by the date/time of your last save, but since you don't have an internet connection your console resets to a given date every time it boots, so what shows up as your "latest save file" is actually the time that you played the game for the longest. The trick to getting around this is looking through your save files and comparing it to the listed chapters in the game, which can be found here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/605052-bioshock-infinite/answers/348476-can-any-one-list-the-chapters-in-order
Matchup the latest chapter you've gotten to with the correct save file, and there ya go. Its tedious, but its how you have to do it when you play offline.
The new 5K iMac apparently runs games well with a Radeon R9 M290X, so you should be okay on 4K with a 970..
You can always decrease the resolution if it can't handle some games at their highest, and use the full 4K space for other work.
Also, if you're a book worm like myself, the Bioshock: Rapture book is available. I haven't read it, but it has some good reviews.

When in doubt, get the wooden model kit or a bottle of Vigor.
Holy fucking shit you weren't kidding about both points. The drill looks INSANE and that's real rope on the neck. But looks at that price https://www.amazon.ca/ThreeZero-Bioshock-Subject-Little-Sister/dp/B079C23B8T

Sorry for the delay, this last weekend was busy and i had to re-set up infinite (mess with config settings, push the resolution as high as i could and set up reshade to get rid of banding and help with anti-aliasing. I didnt adjust any colors, contrast, bloom, ect. to keep it looking the way it does naturally, in game.)
I ended up with screenshots around 6.2k resolution wise, which is almost 22 megapixels, so they should enlarge pretty nice. I took a bunch and narrowed it down to 21 pics, from all different angles (but from the back), at different parts of songbirds death. Getting straight on shots is difficult due to elizabeths and songbirds positions, space to fly the camera back, ect., but theres a couple of them. I compressed it with 7zip, so you might need that program to unzip the folder. Hope one of these will work for you!
I was gifted a wooden model of a big daddy that you pick together like legos and it’s awesome! I’ve never attached a link to a Reddit post before so hopefully it works but this is the one I got and I love it. https://www.amazon.com/Bioshock-Big-Daddy-Wood-Model/dp/1682981630
This seems like the cheapest most available figure that isn't horrible
I'm pretty sure OP is using wallpaperengine. It uses your Steam account so you can use the same wallpapers for your desktop and your mobile as well. The one I currently have moves as I move my phone. Battery life is virtually untouched by it, so those saying "rip battery," relax.

there is a bioshock novel which attempts to explain alot of the backstory and motivations of the characters
BioShock : Rapture by John Shirley
https://www.amazon.com/BioShock-Rapture-John-Shirley/dp/0765367351
mine is also a 2011 paperback. I have this version I bought off amazon.
Thanks! Was super lucky to get it, last one on Amazon lol.
The sweater was also a great find. Too many sweaters are more like thick tight long sleeve t-shirts.
I’ve always been enamored with all of the games. To me it was like Christmas morning getting the remastered HD versions on PS4. I was on convalescent leave recovering from shoulder surgery on my non dominant arm so I was still Able to play, got through the first game in almost 3 days I loved it so much.
There have been rumors for years that there will be a film adaptation or possibly a fourth game - but I’m not holding my breath. I will say that there is a novel called Bioshock: Rapture that you can purchase on Amazon - that was flippin’ fantastic if you’re looking to score some bioshock content

Interesting theory but I'm pretty sure Sea of Dreams was the name of the trailer not the subtitle for the game. That much was said by 2k: http://www.ign.com/articles/2009/04/02/bioshock-2s-subtitle-saga
They could just be covering up but the trailer fits Bioshock 2's story-line dealing with girls being kidnapped from land and brought to Rapture. Additionally, the trailer ends with the appearance of a blue butterfly which factor's heavily into the imagery that appears in the released game.
Here is a Murder of Crows flask I found on Etsy. I would just check every once in a while to see if others pop up. Murder of Crows Flask
You might want to upgrade your laptop to a newer one or switch to a desktop with a decent videocard. Infinite won't run on that laptop because of the low specs.

I thought it might be a refrence to this taken to it's logical conclusion. Derren Brown 10 Heads in a row.
TL;DW if you flip a coin enough times eventually you will have a massive run of one side being flipped. maybe it was the representation of 'this time everything is in place and will work'
I see you conveniently ignored the user score, which is odd especially considering it's a tie breaker.
Metacritic's All-Time ranks even put HL2 3 ranks ahead of Bioshock overall: http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/score/metascore/all/all?sort=desc&view=condensed
Here are some research papers comparing the two:
Its cheaper if you have Augmented Steam
this is for a steam key.
I believe they do have the upgraded ones, unless you're in a different country or region or something.
How does the gamer club work? Is that the subscription based one? I have the free one. Didn't realize that was a perk with it.
It's honestly really easy! Just save - a lot. Before fights, after fights, every 10 minutes or so, save.
I started a few months ago, but lost interest. I told myself I can't replay Bioshock 2 until I platinum Bioshock 1 (I haven't played Bioshock 2 in years and honestly really want to lately). But now since I'm on a high again after playing BAS, I finally feel like finishing "I Chose The Impossible". Only 2 levels left!
Oh yeah, and Big Daddies are really hard to kill. You're going to have to run away a lot, and try to find spots they can't get into (the first one you fight is the hardest). I followed a guide and it was really helpful, edit here
BTW, if you plan on platinuming, you should just do the game on survivor difficulty instead of hard because you'll get both trophies I believe.
I MENTION A THEORY HERE THAT, EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT CONFIRMED, IS PROBABLE ENOUGH TO WARRANT A SPOILER ALERT ON THE DETAILS OF ELIZABETH. SKIP TO BELOW THE LINE IF YOU DON'T WISH TO HEAR IT.
(I'm only saying "spoiler alert" because when I read the article below, I felt a little sad to learn of the possible relationship between Comstock and Elizabeth. I would have liked to learn of it in the way Ken Levine originally intended.)
Yeah I just noticed that too and discovered this subreddit in my quest for more answers. From what I know, Elizabeth is probably Comstock's daughter (she is referred to as "the seed of the Prophet" on at least one occasion). More info on that HERE.
A note on the moral choice system that Rhys95 mentions: I think the big variable of what causes the good and bad ending(s) will be solely your interactions with Songbird. It has been mentioned that the more aggressive you are towards Songbird, the more your relationship with Elizabeth deteriorates. Perhaps an endgame decision of whether or not to kill songbird will make for a positive or negative outcome with Elizabeth. A hard decision I'm sure, as Songbird is such a bastardy leather-covered horror but Elizabeth has dat Disney-eyed gaze.
I'm confused at how you arrived at those times so I checked a time converter website and got this;
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converted.html?iso=20140325T15&p1=179&p2=2094
Eastern Aus time is 2 hours behind NZ.
No one mentioned this one yet. I haven't read it, but it's on my wish list, so at this point I can't say if it's a good read or not, sorry.
You can either make a profile for your controller which maps to mouse and keyboard OR you can install the Xbox 360 hook and have your controller appear to be an Xbox 360 gamepad to the game.
It is a paid program but comes with a trial so you can see if it works for you.
You need to use one of the third party DS4 utilities for PC, either DS4Windows or InputMapper.
You'll get Xbox/PC button prompts but it works completely.
Hey, first time posting here on the Bioshock subreddit!
So the only major ENB preset out right now for Bioshock is the Haunted Ocean preset. Which "uses color correction, tuned bloom, ENB bump-mapping, and shadow shaders".
For sweetfx, however, there are many presets available on the sweetfx preset page here. While sweetfx alone will work fine, I imagine Reshade (the updated version) will provide better results across the board. The Project Rapture preset does look good, however I myself cannot get it to work in Bioshock 1.
Ah, I see why you'd want to get games from Steam then. In this case, you can check this site to see historical prices for games sold on certain websites, such as Steam and whatnot. The last time it was $2.49 was when BS2 and the DLC was first released during the transition from GFWL (Games for Windows Live) to Steamworks.
I believe that it has been pushed back to 2013.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/05/09/bioshock-infinite-delayed-to-2013
TL;DR Bioshock Infinite is currently set to release on February 26, 2013.
The Bioshock Collection isn't on the list of game that have issues with name changes
https://www.playstation.com/en-us/network/onlineid/games-list-home/issues-identified/
But I'll assume you're talking about the PS3 version since the remaster of 2 in the collection doesn't include multiplayer. In which case you still shouldn't have any issues. The PS3 and PS Vita will still use your old PSN name for everything. Name changes only take effect on PS4 (and presumably all future iterations as well).
I think this was posted in this sub-reddit a while back - It's decent: Rapture Radio
Also, I hope sharing Pandora stations works the way I'm assuming it does.
From what I can tell, not so much. With the exception of being able to change some config files it doesn't look like there's much there. Mod friendly like Obsidian games, where you can actually edit the structure of the game, design your own story lines or something? Irrational didn't really make that functionality directly available.
However, the game is based on the Unreal Engine. Theoretically, if you're daring/committed enough you can actually get access to the entire Unreal Engine for about $20 a month (Including the source code, and editors, and everything) and use something like UE Viewer to extract the game models and put them togeather in anyway you want. Of course that would be less like modding a game and more like recreating your own with copyrighted bioshock game resources, but I'm talking hypothetically :)
Never used this site before but here is the original post. Apparently the parent company did mac ports for Borderlands.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00VG327P6/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1 it literally is called The Big Daddy
Yeah its called Bioshock: Rapture by John Shirley. I really enjoyed it personally. Makes me wanna read it again.
Here's a link to the kindle version:

Songbird goes for a lot, but the elizabeth POP is still available for a decent price. Ghost story games has it on their site and Amazon has it for an ok price too.
Did you read the little storys in book form? There are 2-3 of them. They are pretty much just little storys in Rapture I will search and maybe link them for you.
Edit: Rapture: The Big Daddy https://smile.amazon.de/dp/1517585783/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_-xtbGbN505NJW
My daughter got me this for father's day. Amazon.com: Bioshock - Big Daddy Vinyl Figure: The Coop: Toys & Games
People seem interested in it and i'm home now, the link is below. The link is for the Canadian Amazon but will work anywhere i'm sure if you search it in your respective country. It comes from the UK I believe. It's well done.
The price is a steal of a deal however if you look at the dimensions, it's off and has to be customized, it will cost around $100-$250 to get a frame built, so it's a bit of an investment but worth it in my opinion.
EDIT: I also got another painting, and the frame was simple enough, $3, and the painting $10 is the one below, I love it and it's from Reddit Gifts.
https://ssl.redditgifts.com/marketplace/product/bioshock-would-you-kindly-modern-print/
I got the same one from the irrational games store!! Also, there's a lootcrate exclusive you can get that also looks great 👌. I saw it and knew that I needed both!! It's a little pricey on Amazon but eBay has some good offers! https://www.amazon.com/Loot-Crate-Bioshock-Figure-Exclusive/dp/B0797BNHHL
$19 for the ebook. You're an aspiring artist right? I'm sure you of all people would understand why it's wrong to not compensate artists for their work.
This is a must https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Split-Officially-Licensed/dp/B07T5QKKVP
The joy sticks are lovely, and it has programmable paddle buttons...
Sadly the down side is the price and it doesn't have any other function or control type other then the buttons, not even rumble.
Hey, no problem. I actually got it on Amazon here in Canada: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07VRTMV8H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Got FlyVPN after previously pre-loading, didn't restart steam to see if it would work without restarting and it says play, so I click it and it starts downloading the game even though it's downloaded already.

Here ya go
It has references to ayn rands "atlas shrugged" and "the fountainhead", Adam Smith's "The Wealth of Nations", and a couple Biblical references as well. Levine also stated that the book "Logans Run" was a huge influence for him.
Hey OP, for an awesome back story, Play bioshock 1 first, then get a hold of the book Bioshock: Rapture by John Shirleyhttps://www.amazon.com/BioShock-Rapture-John-Shirley/dp/0765367351
its an amazing 430 page book I just finished yesterday. It gives you an awesome back story to bioshock 1, and makes some references to Bioshock 2. But it has spoilers in it so play 1 first! Welcome to Rapture!
Wait. Go play something else for the time being! Ooooo! I know! Pick you up a copy of Rapture (the novel) from Amazon and read it before the remastered collection comes out! Everyone else played the game first. You'll probably be the only person to have read the "prequel" before Bioshock 1! There's no spoilers. But when you're playing the game you'll recognize characters and see what happened to them.... Instead of the other way around....
Here! I did the work for ya! Now get out that credit card! https://www.amazon.com/BioShock-Rapture-John-Shirley/dp/0765367351/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471232122&sr=8-1&keywords=rapture+book
EDIT: DON'T READ THE BOOK BEFORE THE GAME. I'm an idiot and forgot some major info in the book, that you don't want to know before the game.....
I just bought a Boy of Silence from Amazon for $11 if you are looking for somewhere to get a cheap one!
I used this mask as a base, some white paint to paint over it after removing all the sparkly stuff, because there's a ton of glitter on it, and Liquid Pearls gold paint for the detailing.
