What is Reddit's opinion of 1Weather:Widget Forecast Radar?

I like this tornado app a LOT - plus it has a cool weather widget:

Install that, and then go into Radar, the click the little "layers" icon in the bottom right corner. Pick Terrain (or satellite, if that's your thing), then Weather Layer = Radar, then Severe Weather Layer = Storm and tornadoes. Then go into Settings, Notifications, enable Severe Weather Alerts, Customize Notifications, and set as desired.

Now go back to your Radar map and let it load. Zoom out and you will see the red and yellow "zones" for the tornado alerts. In my case, it's located just N-NE over Frederick MD, and up to York MD. You may have to press the [] icon in the top right corner to get the animation to load and start up.

I use 1Weather. I consider it good enough to have paid to remove the apps, even though I'm using an ad blocker and thus don't see them anyway.

Free gets you all the features with no restrictions, plus ads. Two bucks removes them. Five if you have the Amazon Appstore version — they know Amazon gives those coins out like candy and they wanna get paid. Also, couples share more Amazon accounts than Google accounts. Smart developer. Their app is solid, too.

I absolutely love 1Weather's widget, and the app as a whole.

I don't use the widgets in 1Weather, but it does have some, including a round circle one that might accomplish what you want.

Check out 1Weather. It has a widget that lets you switch between hourly, daily, and morning/noon/evening/night forecasts. I've been using it as the main weather widget on my homescreen for a couple years.

I was annoyed by the stock widget/app opening a web page when I wanted to see the hourly forecast. This one stays in app. Also configurable to open my alarm clock app of choice when I tap on the time part of the widget.

I like 1Weather https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handmark.expressweather except that I hate the persistent notification that it has on by default, so I always go in settings and it's easy to disable all those check boxes. I just want the widget and then tapping the widget to get more detail.

1Weather let's you place a customized weather/clock widget. When you click the weather part of the widget, it opens the weather app, but you can customize the clock portion to open whatever app you want when you tap the clock.

thanks! I'm using 1 Weather. The color of the weather widget sometimes clashes with the bg though.. I wish there was a way to make it time-sensitive

I've always preferred 1Weather for my weather. It has a great UI with plenty of information.

I've tried eWeather but the interface is very confusing and although it gives about as much info as possible to get, it's almost too much information. If you need to know everything, then go with that one, but I prefer my choice if I just want to know the forecast and current conditions.

If you're talking about the cards that pop-up with weather info, there's two that I know of: 1Weather and Bright Weather. Both are great and their weather cards function the same (besides the daily weather notifications Bright Weather has, which are optional). The cards will show you the current weather, rain chance through the day, and the 4-day forecast.

I've searched forever and tried what I thought was all of them and ultimately I liked 1Weather the best. I use their 1x1 widget for a quick, basic view.

I seem to use the same mix as you. I used to use more google apps, but recently switched to the Samsung browser for the iris scan login, and I just uninstalled Google Calendar and just use Samsung now.

I may be in the minority here but have been using Facebook messenger for SMS. I have a few friends who like to use fb chat, so it helps keep my number of apps limited, especially now that sms support was removed from Hangouts.

Check out the 1 Weather They have a nice selection of widgets, including one with tabs for hourly and extended forecasts. They also allow customizing the background. You can use live weather, pick a color or go transparent.

I use Weather Timeline too

The only thing I don't like is it lacks an "all-in-one" widget, like the tabbed widget 1Weather

I wish we could have a widget like the "WT Stack", but instead a 1 card on different places, if it was many cards on 1 place

i.e. WT Card, WT Hour, WT Week and WT Lines all in widget

Right now I just have WT Card, WT Hour and WT Week seperately, which means I have 3 widgets on weather haha

Weather underground, forecast.io, world weather online, and openweathermap.. I stick to forecast.io (since I also use the 1weather app for its accuracy) and they're both pretty consistent.. Although I prefer weather Timeline for its widgets.

Any plans to add hourly forecast to the widget?

Go to weather.gov instead of weather.com for desktop and use a different app on your phone. For android, I use oneweather

Hyperforecast apps are all marketing. Don't buy in to any of the apps that use the DarkSky API. All marketing. It's been proven they are not as accurate as they try to makes themselves out to be. I'll add in my two cents of The Weather Channel being in this same category. Any for profit weather agency has money on their mind first ahead of weather and public safety.

THE best weather app will be to create a mobile bookmark on your phone to the local NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill site. If you need help, shoot me a message and I can walk you through. The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK issue the watches and the local NWS forecast offices issue the warnings.

If you prefer to use an actual app, I recommend 1Weather. It is available on both iOS and Google Play.

RadarScope may be too advanced for the "What's the temp? Just care that it is sunny." crowd, but it is a must have for anyone that wants to get granular with their radar data. They have iOS and Google Play apps. It is also available on AppleTV and as a desktop app on both MacOS and Windows.
