Oh hey, there are some good apps in here! Business Calendar 2's pro features get unlocked if you have Business Calendar installed. It's a really good Material designed calendar, and the only one I could find with a fully functional month widget that actually lists out the event titles rather than the infuriating little color blocks that other calendars have.
Business Calendar 2 is much better. And if you switch the agenda widget to single line it fits a ton of events and looks great. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal&hl=en
I've had the exact same problem as you. I haven't found a good solution on iOS, but on Android I've found Business Calendar to be very good for this, and the colors are also completely customizable. You get a month view with just a few words for each event so you can see what you have on tomorrow or next week, and you can tap on a day to see more information in a little pop-up without leaving month view.
Edit: Other people have mentioned Today Calendar as well, which I haven't tried before but also looks to be good.
I've tried most if the others, but business calendar 2 has always been my go to. I used the original for years and gladly bought the new one and have used it for years.
I always use the agenda widget on my home screen, and color code the calendars to that with a glance I know if kids have to go to any sports, if my wife is going to be anywhere, if I need to go anywhere/do anything, what needs to be done for work, etc. It has enough customization to make it fit anything's I want.
I use Business Calendar 2. You can adjust the week view to include as many or few days as you want. I currently have it set to three and it works well for me.
Business Calendar 2 lacks material design, but has a number of good looking widgets that are very customizable as far as color and configuration. I've been using it for several years now, it runs great under 8.1 and is frequently updated. Well worth the money.
While most calendar apps have the ability to schedule recurring events with reminders, I agree with Gary's recommendation of Business Calendar Pro 2. It integrates Tasks (which few others do) and "change car's oil" or "go to dentist" sound like tasks. Having compared most apps of the sort I find BC2 the best event and task organizer.
Depends on the app and purposes, before the S8+ I mainly just used non-Samsung apps and searched for replacements, but on S8+ with Android 7 most Samsung apps are just awesome and even better than Google and other third party apps.
Here is my setup.
I use Business Calendar (Android) which helps me a lot in keeping track of things. You can set different colors for things, have different "calendars" that show and hide at will, and set multiple reminders for each event. It's a lifesaver for me, especially with chores that need doing once a week.
A lot of people here use Google Calendars, I think? I gather it's similar, but I never used it.
Writing things down, physically, is said to help one remember things, but my problem was I'd always forget to look back at them. Still, worth trying if you haven't yet - many use paper planners or whiteboards to schedule out their days/weeks.
Business Calendar 2. I like that the widget is customizable but the app also had really useful features like templates for events and tasks.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
Bussiness Calendar shows all the year in the screen. It doesn't have a gesture as you want but it's pretty fast and easy to change to one view to another. Maybe you like it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
I'm using the agenda widget from Business Calendar 2 (which may cost a few dollars) and it integrates your agenda and tasks nicely with a checkbox right in the widget to mark tasks complete. There are options on the widget to really tighten things down so that you can see like 15 or 20 events or tasks at once. I'd post a screenshot, but it's all personal stuff.
Ninja edit - added link.
Idk if there are better apps, but I use Business calendar and Todoist, both amazing apps and have some tablet UI 😁 I also set a pair in edge panel to open them together 😁
There's a very important document called "The Hitchhiker's Guide to Google" which has, printed on the front cover, the words:
H*LL YES DO PANIC!
As a user of Google Tasks in one form or another for more years than I can remember all I can say is that Google is stamping out a vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored. Meanwhile GTasks for the Desktop works well, as others here have noted. I'm switching to that for the PC.
On an Android phone try Business Calendar 2. This can be set up to show your Google Tasks in a very nice scrolling widget, and has an editable agenda view where you can view and edit tasks and Google Calendar events together. Highly recommended. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal&hl=en_AU
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal&hl=en_US I thought I saw it in F-Droid. This app was recommended to me by someone I this subreddit. I may be wrong and it might not be in F-Droid. Even I cannot find it in F-Droid.
Try Business Calendar 2. It's a full calendar app, not just a widget one, but it's really quite good. It has widgets for month, week, agenda, tasks, as well as a combined day + tasks in one.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
No. But maybe you'll like the attached better, the Week View of free Business Calendar 2, set to show 1 day. https://imgur.com/NoGItro.jpg. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal&
3D Business Calendar 2
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
Highly customizable, including tasks... I use it for couple of years as main calendar app also with transparent widget on my home screen. But I'm not sure about how much customizable is free version.
To suggest something different..
Business Calendar 2 (repeating alarms in premium as well as slew of other granularity)
SearchBar Ex Premium w/ Contact Plugin (I have this saved to the pull down gesture in Nova Prime... Basically emulates the search function on an iPhone, let's you search for apps, contacts and web searches, as well as set what order, and how many are displayed.. I can get away with a single home screen and a handful of icons using this to launch everything else. It's a game changer for me.)
People might be thrown off by the "Calendar" in the name but Business Calendar 2 Pro is the best task app on planet Earth. It just happens to be the best calendar app, too.
Business Calendar 2 is awesome. Really efficient use of screen space. Spectacular month view. I like the agenda widget on my home screen.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
Business Calendar 2 has a Pro version that adds extended Task capability. By creating your event as a Task, you can add Subtasks, therefore achieving what you want.
Business Calendar 2 allows you to set templates with presets. For example, you create an event with a template named Seminar and it automatically has your preferred color.
This is well on it's way to becoming my favorite reddit post. Thanks a ton, I've scowred the internet looking for a mockup widget like this, and the best I could find was Business Calendar 2 which worked pretty well as it would give me my calendar for the entire day with a clean look as well but it didn't have the look of the pixel 2 widget that I was looking for.
I used TickTick for 2-3 years then switched to Todoist, but I examined every worthy competitor at one time or another.
Less than a year ago I was doing an in-depth comparison of calendar apps when I discovered the ultimate calendar and to-do app — Business Calendar 2 Pro. Best widgets, too.
(*Pro version provides the full task feature set).
I use the paid version so I unfortunately don't know what the free one allows. I can confirm this can elegantly and fully interact with Tasks from multiple connected accounts. One minor issue is that you have to activate and allow task-management separately (additionally) after your regular calendar stuff (that's just the answer to "why don't I see my tasks, even though i setup my calendar already?!").
For the desktop, Google Calendar or Sunrise Calendar Link. For a Android Cellphone I use Business Calendar 2, most of the functionality are free, but it comes handy if you pay for it. But if your satisfied but the UI of Sunrise on Android go for it!
tI can suggest something that almost fits your Must Haves, but not all of your other criteria.
If you're okay with that, you could try Business Calendar 2. > > Must have:
> -ability to do BOTH repeated tasks (daily, weekly, etc) and one-time tasks
Yes, it can do this, but you have to pay for it. No, I don't mean it as meeting entries or something like that, there's a separate task view for this.
> -calendar view
It's a calendar. Month view, daily view up to fortnight view, agenda view. > -check boxes for tasks or something similar
Tasks input has check boxes, yes. > -Something that does not sync with my email, Facebook, or regular calendar, and does not require a sign in with any of those things.
It does ask permissions for all of these. As far as I know, it's opt in, and not connected by default. Probably I'm very wrong, as after a few reinstalls (from moving phones and playing around with custom ROMs) I didn't pay attention.
By this paragraph, I realise this is probably not at all what you're looking for. But I typed this much so I'm going to post anyway.
I absolutely hate the Stock Samsung Calendar, functional enough but looks horrible. Try this, someone recommended it to me on a Subreddit, I paid for Pro and it's excellent.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
I gotchu. Business Calendar 2 Planner is what I use for this. It's mainly a calendar app but it also integrates tasks well and includes the repeated tasks based on the completion date. I mostly use the repeat tasks for pet grooming like baths and nail trimming. Best part is they integrate into your actual Google task app if you still want to use that.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
Business calendar is a great Android calendar. Would work on any cheap tablet. I use it on my phone everyday to overlay multiple calendars. The best part of business calendar is the easy toggle for your favorite calendars at the bottom. It's great when you have a ton of calendars that you're overlaying and not wanting to go into the settings to turn off/on the calendars you want to see.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
Not so fancy as dakboard but quick toggle. I'll have to check that one out!
I personally use the app "Business calendar", which is in my opinion the best Android calendar with tons of features, different widgets and themes. There you also have the option to attach anything 🙂
On my main home screen, I use a clock and weather widget (current conditions) that also includes my next alarm that I made with KWGT app (I like being able to change the font to whatever I want)
I use Business Calendar 2 Planner- Agenda widget https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
I use Notes Widget Reminder (I like that you're able to add your notes to this widget directly on your screen without having to open an app) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sk.mildev84.noteswidgetreminder
(I also have one of my screens completely dedicated to weather widgets that I made with KWGT app, these include detailed current conditions, daily forecast, hourly forecast, sunrise, sunset, etc..)
This is good advice, but the problem is the calendar app to use. The native Calendar in the Air2 can't connect to your Google/Office etc calendars, which would be ideal.
I tried to use an App called BC 2・Calendar Schedule Planner (Beta) That works great on all my other Android devices, but I just can't get it to display well on the Boox Note Air2.
I agree with some points.
I hope this helps you ☺️
Business Calendar 2
it syncs with Google Calendar and Google Tasks.
and if you like it you can buy the pro version (one time purchase) to get the customisation feature.
I like Business Calendar 2 because I hated all the wasted space in the Google calendar widget, but with this one you can adjust agenda view to be so space-efficient that you can get 2-3 weeks into one view with plenty of detail about each event. Here's an image from their app store page, but you can get it even tighter.
Business calendar, I save lot of time because it auto completes your entries and you can easily drag&drop and also drag©
I use an app called business calendar 2 with a purple logo. I like the way it works and how customizable it is. It can add other calendars and email you reminders. I love it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
Has a variety of widgets, including a monthly. Worth the price for sure! I used it everyday.
Also super easy to add new appts within this calendar.
I personally use the daily agenda widget, but when I tap it - the monthly calendar appears.
Business Calendar has a bunch of configurable widget options, including ability to show passed events/tasks, though I don't use this feature personally. I just hide passed events, which seems to be the default.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal&hl=en_US
I'm not sure if their business model has changed or if you have to pay to get a pro version or what, but I paid for the old app and use version 2 now. It's good.
Strongly recommend Business Calendar Pro 2 (NOTE: version 2) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal&hl=en
IAP to make it Pro. Don't remember how much but not really expensive. This calendar app is really excellent in UI, features, backup restore settings. Like very much various format of widgets which are configurable (font, color, background, etc). It also have task lists included. I have also paid for two other calendar apps. I prefer by far BC Pro 2. Good lucks
If you don't find anything that fits what you're specifically looking for, you shd check out business calendar 2 and utilize the agenda view.
Uhm.. This app is incompatible with all of your devices. Very Strange, then I can't see the app here in Italy even in the Appgenix Software page.. I see only https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
It is not availbale in my country! My question is what is the difference between this red version and the purple version which i already have on my device? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
I guess it depends on your needs, but I've used Business Calendar 2 for years. It's highly configurable, has many widget choices, and is updated regularly. Well worth the price.
I do this currently with several calendar apps. The key is to setup the 2nd, 3rd, etc calendars to be shared with your Google account. Then select which calendar(s) you want displayed.
My primary Google calendar app is Business Calendar Pro 2 (paid Version - well worth it)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
I've been using Business Calendar 2 for years. I really like the Agenda widget choices which are very customizable. Definitely worth the money.
Powerful and easy to use calendar app - including weather, widgets and tasks.
Feature Overview:
I use Business Calendar 2 (pro version, I think). It's similar to Google Calendar but feels a bit more sleek to me. I bought it with survey money, and I think I had some kind of discount (I've been using it since v1, so... idk how long), so upgrading to pro was "free."
Although I use Nine (as mentioned) for email, for a solid calendar app with a widget that's functional, customizable and looks good I use Business Calendar 2
It supports multiple calendars all displayed on one calendar or widget, color coding per calendar (or event or both). By far the best I've tried, I'd highly recommend it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal&hl=en
This is what I use. It allowed to sync with google calendars or has it's own local calendar.
I don't use the local calendar. I just sync to multiple google account and hide what I don't need.
I've never used stock Android, but on Samsung & Huawei devices the brightness slider shows the current screen brightness (even if set by auto-brightness), not where last left it.
I don't use calendar invites but perhaps Business calendar can help? Not sure. It may be a bit overwhelming with customization but once you set it up it should be alright
Uses Android calendar sync which allows synchronization with Google Calendar and Exchange.
Free and no ads (a paid Pro version is also available).
To keep myself organized I started using Business Calander
It syncs your Google Calanders and to do lists and more
It has Yearly, Monthly, Weekly, Daily, and Agenda views
Really worth checking out
uses Android calendar sync which allows synchronization e.g. with Google Calendar and Exchange
integrated task organizer which syncs with Google Tasks
So when I tell them I do this, it just comes up with a "It doesn't affect Misdreavus..." count like Chuggaaconroy's. * Business Calendar - I've been using them for more than a year.
In that case, I'd recommend Business Calendar (purple icon). I use it.
With this app you can have a task list, repeating tasks, and your calendar/schedule. It doesn't do stuff like streaks or anything but it can show everything (tasks and stuff too) on your calendar in specific time slots if you like.
I used Business Calendar for my agendas, but now I just stick with Google Calendar as I no longer needed a lot of their extra features.
It seems like you're saying that you're having trouble actually doing the scheduling of tasks, even knowing that "schedules" are just suggestions (most likely never ever fully correct one's, in my experience).
The way I've read it, you only look at the plan (the schedule) right at the start of the day to get your bearings. Just after that point, and all throughout the day, that plan is open to change is it was merely a suggestion in the first place. If you try too hard fighting this change, you're going to have a bad time.
But let's say, for example, you can't help yourself. In that case maybe it would be worthwhile to temporarily try an alternate approach where after you look at your schedule for the day, you take a blank schedule (outline of your days time) and fill it in with things that you did every hour. This is basically a log of your time.
With that, you can get better acquainted with you typical routines in terms of how much time you actually spend on things and how far off from your expected reality you actually are. That's just a thought though. No need to do all that if you can accept that your schedule will inevitable change. (Note: some people can plan out their day and follow it to the T, but those ppl likely have much more control over their time than others.)
Separately, I also wanted to mention that there's an app called plan which does things in a similar manner to that business calendar 2 app.
A little late to the party but for me it's my business calendar 2! It's absolutely amazing, especially with managing (currently) 3 jobs, or (previously) 2 jobs and college. Here's a link to the play store. I absolutely love the widget for it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
It can sync to your Google calender too :)
My current week :http://imgur.com/dY3cHu0
Maybe try Business Calendar app's widget? It's like vertical timeline. The widget is very similar to Google Calendar widget, except that the height of each event corresponds to the length & time of the event. It also has a horizontal bar that tells you the current time.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal&hl=en
I couldn't find an image of the widget, but the widget basically looks like the day view. I got rid of the weather, tasks, birthdays in the options to have a clean timeline of my day, and it's pretty good. This widget is a paid feature, so get the free app and see how the widget looks in the preview on your phone.
Business Calendar 2 is what I've been using for a long time. I absolutely love the app, it's perfect for me and allows for a ton of customization.
I bet they will just cut all of the third party integration like gtasks and Evernote and replace them with big ol' nothing.
Outlook is a nice Android app tho, but its calendar sucks, so I can see why they did this.
You might look into https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal I think it integrates with gtasks rather well.
You might want to look at Business Calendar 2. It's what I went to for everything I was missing when Google shit on us again, and it's way more customizable - especially nice if you use a lot of AMOLED black theme like me.
Meh, I gave up on ever having it back since Google gave us the turd that is the current Maps app. I looked around and found that Business Calendar 2 has all the features I missed, plus a it's very customizable so I've got a black theme to save power on my AMOLED screen.
Yeah, I've always hated the Android Google Calendar. I recommend Business Calendar 2 for a beautiful, functional calendar app.
Business Calendar - I've been a long time fan of Today Calendar but after reading an article about the level of work that was put into making this app's update I decided to check it out. Its everything I wanted and expected out of a suitable calendar replacement app.
CloudPlayer - Definitely one of the best cloud based music players out there and even a great music app in general.
Comic Viewer Pro - If you read comic books on your phone or tablet then you should get this app. There's a free version but do yourself, and the dev, a favor and buy the damn thing.
Cosmonautica - An early access game in both the Play Store and on Steam. Become the Captain of a merchant ship in space. Watch out for raiders and learn to deal with the economy of trading. Or, later you can expand your fleet and build yourself a raider ship. Hire crew, fill the empty spaces of your ship with better habitable rooms to please your crew, train their skills, see how they get along, fire them for better replacement crew. Pretty much one of the deeper games I've played on Android.
Current Flow - Fun and relaxing pipe game. There's plenty of challenges and the dev is adding more over time. Hell, the ambient music alone is worth the price of admission (free). The IAP is for buying the recent expansion of levels.
DTM - In the vein of Qbert, this is an interesting little game of getting your character down the mountain with all it's delimeas. Dodge mountain lions, buses, lava, and far more. Unlock new characters to play and get them down the mountain as well!
Lightning - I've been looking for some replacement to my standard browser and I think I've found it with this one. Give the free version a shot.
Palabre - Flyne has been acting pretty bad for the past few weeks and I've been yearning for a good RSS reader substitute. Going back to Palabre was a quick and easy choice. With the Flyne dev having apparently decided he no longer needed to update his app I've gone looking at competition and this might be the best, visually appealing, front-runner.
List made using List My Apps
Business Calendar - By far and away, this is the best calendar app on the market. The utilities of a constant notification reminder of your upcoming daily activities as well as automatically adding missed calls to a to do list in addition to the incredibly mailable nature of the app itself make for a organizational wet dream.
Day by Day - New to the habit building market, its got a ton of potential and a lot of nice features already baked in.
K-@ Mail Pro - K-9 except designed with eye appeal as well. Worth the $5 of market credit from Google.
Lightning - The best browser app to cruise the net with.
Manual Camera - Damned impressive camera app. Even makes my Nexus 5 a bit better for the use.
Memo Reminders - Write yourself a memo, store it in your notification shade. If you go Pro for .99 you can add a fuckload of functionality to you notes like the ability to tap the note and immediately call a friend that you wanted to talk to about something that you saw or whatever the real you made the note for.
Metal - Best Facebook wrapper out there. Material Design with solid user experience.
Monospace - Best app I use for writing things out, like this post.
Tiny Guardians - On sale now. Tower defense with a twist, you're the tower walking on your path. Summon knights, archers, paladins, and more as you seek out your master whose gone missing.
Uprising - Star Wars RPG. Seriously, its surprisingly fun.

Business Calendar 2
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
I've been using Business Calendar 2 and it works well for me.
I'm going to round up all the productivity-related apps I use and like.
And a bit about a more elaborate setup I use:
You can of course replace any of these with the app of your choice. Just wanted to point this out in case you can't find any single app to meet your needs, perhaps a DIY solution such as this will do.
Hey everyone, this is my released version of Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Theme for Android.
Before we start I must clarify that for this theme to work you must have KLWP Pro, which costs 3.49. The Theme itself is free so this is the only thing you have to buy. I cannot recommend KLWP enough but you will need to have the pro version for this theme to work, there is no other way.
Everything in this app is customizable, but the main thing to change is the apps. The version of the theme I released is the one I use and that comes by default when you install it. You have to change and edit it to make it your own since the default install has the apps I use and won’t be the ones you might use.
There are two videos that I have, the first one is how to install the theme and what the theme does. The second one is how to customize it, links will be at the bottom. It’s very important to watch the customization video!
The Customizations are like this.
> 1.The Background
>
> 2.The 2 Apps on the right tab
>
> 3.The 3 Apps on the right side
>
> 4.the bottom 4 apps on the dock
>
> 5.You can have 4 folders with 12 apps. 3 apps per folder. (You don’t have to have 4 folders, you can make the folder icons just normal apps. just in case you don’t use this many apps)
If you watched the tutorials and don’t want to go through the trouble of customizing it. You can send me $1 on paypal with a list of the customizations you want here
https://www.paypal.me/yoshikeeper
I will do the changes for you and send you the files.
How to install text quick version:
9. Forgot to mention, one more last step!!! Make sure to enter Nova Launcher App, click the App & Widget Drawers and toggle off the "Swipe to Open". This is to make sure you dont accidently open the app page while trying to click the middle dock app!

>
>
>
>

2.Download the Free Apps Business Calendar 2 and iA Writer. (These are necessary for the theme to work.)
a.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
b.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.ia.iawriter
3.Download/Buy KLWP PRO 3.49 first then download Nova Launcher Free
4.Click the Home Button and select Nova Launcher as Always.
5.Select Backup and select the file ACPC_Default.novabackup.
6.Go into KLWP and accept all permissions, and go to Load Present Tab

Customization Tutorial - COMING SOON
Try Business Calendar 2
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
But you'll have to pay for the widgets IAP to get full customisation options.
It's called business calendar ,I use the same one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
Some of the best calendar apps are:
Business Calendar
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal&hl=en_US
aCalendar
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.withouthat.acalendar&hl=en_US
Or Simple Calendar if you want something "simple"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.calendar.pro&hl=en_US
Je vous copie colle ce que j'ai posté sur /r/androidapps :
> Hi, > > > > So I needed an agenda app for my work but couldn’t know which one to choose. So i finally got time to test lots of them and to find the best of them and I decided to share my conclusion with you. Please note that I only tested free app. I ranked app below from best to less best app. > > ### Agenda Business > > The best calendar app. It’s not the best looking calendar app but it’s still pretty enough. It have a lots of vue (year, month, week, X day, day, agenda) and the UI is practical with a lots of good idea (when you add an event, you can swipe left to show other event and drag start/end time, when your in day view and an event is out of view you have a little arrow telling you there is an event, a slider to choose the number of day to show, etc.). A nice thing is that it also show note/description of event which most other app doesn’t do. You also have a button to fill new event vocally, and the apps also support checklist very well ! You can have notification reminder with the ability to report it by the time of your choice, and you can also show a permanent notification showing you future event even though the notification is ugly (you might be interested with calendar notify) and seems bugged with tasks. Of course, it also offer multiples widget. The apps randomly show ads at the bottom but you can buy the pro version for €4,95 (one time payment) to remove ads and unlock some functionality (weather, subtask, drag and drop, import/export calendar, etc.). > > > > ### Google Agenda > > Free and without ads, the apps is very pretty. It have multiples view (agenda, day,3 day, week, moth). The UI is pratical and show well when two event are at the same time. One down side is that it only have two widget (month and agenda). The app also support reminder (nothing incredible about them). The app name after installation is Agenda and not Google Agenda. > > > > ### Digical > > The app is very nice looking and offer lots of view (agenda, day, week, week agenda, month, month text, years). The week agenda view is very usefull and not proposed in previous listed app ! An other nice thing offered in this app and not in other is the ability to view event location on google map, so if you travel a lot in unknow idea you might want to prefer this app. The app also offer multiple widgets. The free version of the apps have ads hence the reason I put it after Google Agenda, but you can buy premium for €4,99 to remove them and unlock more functionnality (like the month view widget). One downside of the app is that it doesn’t support checklist. The app also offer advanced weather for €1,50 per year. > > > > ### aCalendar > > The UI is a little strange. It’s a little pretty, but some part are a little strange. Like other app, it offer multiple view (day, week, month, year, agenda). One very smart thing this app offer that other app doesn’t is what they call “panorama”. On day view, you have at the bottom right a little view of your week so you can quickly see when you are busy this week. At first I was confused because the view was empty and clicking on it would show an empty month view but it was because per default, the panorama doesn’t show event on week end (but the month view still doesn’t show event). The app also offer checklist which I though was bugged but I think it’s because it’s a premium functionnality (altough the error message when trying to configure task doesn’t say anything about premium). Lots of widget are also offered by this app which is a good point. The app show ads less than one time a day in the form of a popup that you can immediatly close. You can buy premium for €4,99 which removed ads and unlock functionnality, but you can also unlock specific functionnality at a low price if you doesn’t want to unlock everything (ads removal is only €0,99) which is a nice thing for low budger ! So even if my first impression was confused (with panorama view and task), after going deeper the app offer some nice thing so it might interest some user and spening more time on it might be a good idea; > > > > ### Etar > > Etar is a free and opensource app. It’s pretty and have multiple view (day, week, month, agenda) but have no widget. One anoying thing is that the view start at 0h so you have to scroll down to see event of the day (but it will remind position as long you don’t close the app). An other issue is that it doesn’t show event title if you have to event at the same time. But it’s free and opensource so it might interest you. > > > > ### Simple calendar > > This is a very classical app which is also free and open source. The app is not ugly but choice color are very strange. It offer multiple view (day, week, month, agenda) and also offer widget. It might also be a solution for you if you want open source app and need widget (carefull, the app name after installation is Calendar and not Simple Calendar). > > > > ### Mi calendar > > This app is not avaible on the playstore but is offered on xiaomi phone. It’s is very pretty (even tough it lack a litle of color), offer widget and is pratical exept for one thing which is the reason I put it so low on the list : to select an hour, you have to scroll up the the number you want which make you loose a lots of time. It’s very inconveniant to use, I don’t know why they keep putting this sort of UI (their alarm app also have the same issue). Without this issue this could be a very nice app. > > > > ## Bonus : > > > > ### Calendar Notify > > This app isn’t a calendar app but can be a good addition to your favorite calendar app. It allow you to add a very nice looking persistant notification telling you about your future event. It work with any calendar app that support android calendar. It also offer widget. You can buy premium for €3,79 which unlock multiple options. One very sad things is that it doesn’t support checklist from business calendar. > > > > ### Any.do > > A very nice looking app. I don’t consider it as a calendar app because it’s only offer a agenda view. I found a way to show a month view but it doesn’t show event directly on it, i don’t know if it’s bugged. Strangly, there is widget that offer a month view while also showing event (with dot icon), so this app might be for you if you prefer to use widget over app. The app offer premium but it’s a very costly subscription (€1,99 per month). > > > > ### We Note > > Not a calendar app but you might be interested so check it out if you have time. You can unlock some functionnality but it’s costly (€5,49 per functionnality or €15,99 for all). > > ### Notion > > You can use notion as a calendar app, but you can also use it for a lots of other things. This app allow you to create page which can contain multiple thing including calendar. And you can create create custom field for your calendar and link it to other data of the app. It’s very complete and you can do a lots of thing if you know how to exploit it’s potential. Sadly there is currently no widget and it’s a litle annoying to choose time when you add something in calendar.
You're very welcome! It's super exciting to have people and helping out, it's a huge industry, but in this case I personally believe it's definitely a case of "the more the merrier"!
I completely understand how overwhelming it can be, both to start working with other people's dogs - as well as starting a new business! It's super exciting, but don't forget the basics. This is something I'm super happy they taught me in high school actually - proper planning is definitely going to "save you" from here on out. Make sure you keep a personal calendar, on your phone - I highly suggest paying for "Business Calendar 2" (I put the Google Play link at the bottom of my comment), it's got some super helpful features like multiple reminder times, and a "hold to copy" feature that is phenomenal for rescheduling the same task on a different day! It's super helpful to teach yourself to track your own activities in a calendar app though, because then there's zero confusion when you're trying to remember multiple clients, plan your own appointments (doctor, dentist, etc) without double-booking yourself, and you are also now able to confirm what a customer owes you if you start billing after service (like if you start offering a package where they get six hours total of training, but they split it over five days in two weeks - it's very easy to confuse which customer booked which times and who did the two hours last Sunday, etc).
Having the summary of what you did, in the calendar appointment you created for them, protects you from being gaslighted by customers trying to convince you that you only did five hours and you didn't really teach Sparky x or y yet - you can go back to the previous appointments and detail exactly what you did with them, and the "homework" they had, because you can see your calendar appointment says "Sparky // Millard home", with their address in the invite, and a "visit summary" of what you did with them during each of the appointments. It's like a diary that you would write out after each appointment is completed, while you're in your truck getting ready to leave their house, you write down jot-notes of everything you just worked on with them and everything you discussed, with as many direct quotes at possible (cause it's also possible you'll get a customer, like me even, who isn't*trying* to screw you over, but just forgets what happened and when it happened).
The other thing you can easily use the calendar for, is generating leads from existing clients, and being able to use them to get one of their friends signed up, but also give the referring person a free hour of training or something (like as a thank you for the referral). If you put these into the notes from the date you had this client, it'll be super easy to go back and actually credit the correct customer, as well as find the referral contact info itself.
That app also gives you the ability to search for whatever key words you'd like - so if you are consistent with your naming and key words (i.e. putting the word referral into the calendar invite or description), it will make it simple for you to search for that later in the week when you've got time to contact those people (or do your billing, or whatever additional scheduling, etc).
Here's the Google play long for that calendar app
I'm no an expert by any stretch, but if you need a hand with setting things up, or any peculiar breeds, or just need an ear to bitch to, don't hesitate to ping me offline anytime. I'm always willing to help good people with whatever I can help with, and thankfully I've also got the humility to be able to tell you when something is too far outside my wheelhouse to help with, and I can point you to where you need to be.
Again, good luck!!! I hope you're having an awesome Monday :)
You must check out Business Calendar 2

I'm still not sure why this was a problem, but I found a solution:
Basically, I had to enable sync for this weather calendar in iPhone sync settings here:
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/syncselect
Then install Business Calendar 2 on my Android device and delete the weather calendar within that app.
After a subsequent sync on all Android devices, the calendar was finally gone.
Note: I do not now, nor have I ever used an Apple device, so I have no idea how or why the iPhone sync settings page is involved in this solution.
I did not come up with this on my own. A big thanks to Jordan Sherman for the solution posted in Google Groups here:
I now know this is not really a Tasker issue, but it's an issue that can definitely cause issues with Tasker.
You can use another app that it shows you in the calendar when do you have your tasks. It also supports Google Tasks!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal&hl=es
Silly question: did you setup DAVdroid properly, and "reloaded" it? Did you "refresh calendar list" and so on? Do you see your calendars listed in DAVdroid? It might happen that you did not, so just be sure about that!
One option: the Calendar app from simplemobiletools (available on f-droid). It's open source, licensed under Apache License 2.0.
Another proprietary option: Business Calendar 2 (available at google play). It seems to be free to use, but I paid the pro pack and forgot about it. Works okay once you setup DAVdroid.
Business Calendar Pro is awesome
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
Business Calendar 2 does that–perfectly–with recurring items, multiple reminders and snoozable notifications.
Well, the one I use seems to have every feature I want, but may seem as overkill to you. However, if using it is intuitive and quick for your purposes (meanwhile ignoring the capabilities you don't want), then why not?
I'm a longtime user of task managers and calendar apps. I've trialed and examined all the best ones, ultimately discovering that Business Calendar 2 is perfect for me. It integrates both events and tasks, a rarity.
If you should decide you like it, and you utilize the task features, then consider paying the $5 for the Pro version to access all the tasking features, although you may be good with the free (and ad-free) version, which has almost all the features.
Now, having given my preference, there are numerous other options. What I've done in the past is search Play Store then install and trial the highest ranked of those results.
I'm still not clear on what mean when you say:
>Depending on the week I need to use different sets of alarms. The solution seems simple: an app which allows me to create alarm groups.
>I installed one and it ended up to only have alarm profiles but no way to disable all alarms of a profile at once.
It would seem to me that by utilizing the recurring capability of items and reminders, you would not need to disable a group of alarms at once. Of course, disabling all alarms for a time period is a feature of stock Android. And you can disable alarms individually in an app, even according to recurring schedule, but if you must disable groups at one touch (allowing others, say, news alerts), then I'm not aware of what app does that (and may be found in an alarm app I'm not familiar with).
I schedule many things, some with reminders, yet have not felt the need for group disabling – but, as I said, I'm not clear on what you think you need.
Edit: Could this accomplish what you want?
Have you tried out Business Calendar 2?
It's called Business Calendar 2. The weather widget and calendar are two of my favorite apps, for which I would gladly pay again!
I would recommend Business Calendar 2 A lot of features and finally an app with a good (but not perfect) task integration.
I use Business Calendar Pro plus Calendar Snooze. They work great together.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bitfire.development.calendarsnooze&hl=en
Then I just say "Ok Google, set a calendar reminder for 'meeting' at 2pm on Wednesday." It opens up and confirms, and saves it in my calendar.
100% foolproof.
Now, if you use outlook at work, you can also install gSyncIt on your desktop. It syncs your work calendar to your phone, and if you have it setup to add events even if you have not accepted them, your phone will remind you of every meeting. It's fantastic.

(for the lazy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal) This is the second one. Did you mean this or the first one?
I've switched from Android to iOS, and this is what I miss...
with icon packs by Kovdev, most beautiful icons I have ever seen, lot of updates, the biggest packs of icons in the entire market.
EDIT: Shit, I thought I'm posting in 'I've switched from iOS to Android' thread. My bad, sorry!
Business Calendar 2 has a variety of widgets you might like. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgenix.bizcal
Give Business calendar a try. I switched to it a couple of back. Has a nice widget that allows you to check them off as you go. You can set multiple reminders and reoccurring events as well.
