As I recall, the way it was revealed was in a comic. Which is how much of Overwatch's backstory was revealed (though, admittedly, not Widowmaker's... that's on the website)
How should it have been revealed?
I guess it could work (for those that have played Overwatch) like Symmetra's right click. For those that haven't.
Hold down fire to inflate a bubble of ink, let go to release the bubble. The bubble explodes like a blaster shot on impact with an inkling, "pops" (no damage, only inks the area) if it hits a surface. The longer you charge the bigger and more damging the bubble gets.
Pearl won 4 Splatfests in a row and has won 5 out of 6 so far. Using this calculator and entering 6*C5* (6 coin tosses with 5 being heads), we can see that the chances of this happening is of 6/64 or 3/32 or 9.375%. It's not that rare actually.
In every Splatfest the chances of winning are around 50% if the choices are similar, like Sci. Fi vs. Fantasy or Vampires vs. Werewolves, but they can be slightly slanted if one of the options is objectively inferior, such as Over vs. Under.
My suggestion? Choose what you wish. Super Sea Snails are not that important, and I think choosing what you like whether you win or lose is much better.
Practice! And when you think your drawing sucks? Practice even more! Be okay with bad drawings and just realize that time invested is far better than not doing anything at all.

As game designer Amaro says: "In Japan, there’s a sense of, “We’re making this thing for you, and this is how we think this thing is better enjoyed.” This is why, in Splatoon, the maps rotate every couple of hours. And the modes change. “I bought this game. Why can’t I just enjoy this game the way I want?” That’s not how we think here. Yes, you did buy the game. But we made this game. And we’re pretty confident about how this game should be enjoyed." article

I set up an IFTTT recipe to automatically add any photos I tweet with "#NintendoSwitch" to a Google Photos album.
EDIT: Here's the recipe.
Get GIMP. https://www.gimp.org/
Open it, and open/paste the image.
Go to Image > Scale Image and scale it so that the dimensions would fit Miiverse. (You can zoom in if it's too small.)
Go to Image > Set Image Canvas Size and make the canvas 320 x 120 (miiverse resolution). Click "Center" before you click "Resize" it if you want it centered.
Go to the right hand panel, right click below the layer of your image, and click "New Layer" Make this layer 320 x 120, and click "White". Then, drag it below the image so that it is in the background.
Go to Image > Mode > Indexed
Click "Use black and white (1 bit) palette. Go down to "Dithering" and click an option. (Different ones work for different images, "Floyd-Stienberg (normal)" usually works the best
You should now have an image that can be copied pixel by pixel into the area. However, you should be able to make this MUCH easier by completing the following steps:
Go to Image > Configure Grid and make the Spacing 1x1.
Press "OK", then go to View > Show Grid.
Now you can zoom into the image, and have grid lines differentiating all the individual pixels to make it easier to count correctly.

The squid hori pouches that are 20$ when you search “Splatoon coin bag” on Amazon are much larger than they seem! They’re 20$ because they are big enough to carry your Switch and accessories. The closest you could get to a squid coin purse would be to buy this case and then detach that little clipped on squid dude, I think. However, the Nintendo store website does have a lot of cool Splatoon merch if you want to check it out here ! Good luck :)
Do you have your phone jailbroken/rooted?
On a rooted Android device you can force a language on per app basis using App Settings (don't know which Android versions are supported) http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.mods.appsettings
On a jailbroken iOS device you can use App Language Switcher (it says it's compatible up to iOS9 but it works like a charm on my iOS10 device) http://moreinfo.thebigboss.org/moreinfo/depiction.php?file=applanguageswitcherDp
If you want to get into vector art yourself, I recommend giving Inkscape a try. Free software, and it allows you to do all the cool stuff needed to make this squid from scratch - but because it's made of vectors, you can export it at any resolution and it'll still be super smooth! And you can import bitmaps (like the image above) and it'll vectorise them automatically.
Only warning is, it'll take a few hours to get familiar with all the tools - but totes worth it

It's because you're probably used to FPSs, so you don't know the problem of hitting the ground when you're looking over a cliff like in TPSs. So they made it like that to show that your inkling is going to hit the lip of a cliff unless you move forward more or jump.

If it functions anything like Powder Toy's front page, an admin might be able to pin something to the front page, but it otherwise functions on an algorithm based on how many upvotes (in Splatoon's case, "Yeahs") it has and how old it is.
I feel like I agree on all points!
I'm mostly arguing against the point of "N Zap is objectively better than Jr in ranked" - Yes N Zap has advantages over Jr but Jr also has advantages over N Zap too (btw, higher base speed means run speed up helps it even more, if that's your preference source)
Really though I just want wanted to make the point that both are very ranked / competitively viable. And we can see this in the data, looking at Squad (4p) league rankings over a past period (I need to update this):
Using the control on the right, you can look at just N Zap vs Jr and see they're pretty much neck and neck (interestingly Jr has higher highs and lower lows, indicative of a higher skill cap maybe?)
I couldn't cope with the withdrawal so I got this $13 dollar lan adapter from Amazon and it works like a charm DM me if you need any help setting up if you decide to get it.
Hey man, I'm not trying to be hostile. Maybe you played some game where the mechanic of "saving" is different.
Truth is, OP was mistaken, the required amount is the red arrow on your ink tank and it does move when you use ink saver (sub)s. I could take some pictures of something clearer like seekers, because it uses more ink and is therefore more noticeable, but you should probably test it out yourself.
Here's the eGuide saying the "revised ink usage"
In all seriousness though, the extra snails are just a small "Well done" for the winning team. If it really was win or die, the losers would get no snails.
By the way, I'm sourcing my data from this chart. The relevant columns for the Nozzlenoses are G (average fire rate), L and M (time to kill with 0 misses and 1 miss, it adds 2 frames for every weapon, so I assume that's just how long it takes for a bullet to come out or an enemy to die), BG (fire rate^-1 ) and BH (burst endlag). It also lists mobility in column F, but I haven't found the numbers detailing the "mobility endlag" after a burst on them.
Edit: Just found a snazzy guide to this chart by its creator, flc.
Aside from the three stats that are display in-game (range, damage, fire rate), there are three more that are hidden for whatever reason, namely ink efficiency, mobility and accuracy. There are potentially more, for example I recall reading that a single bullet of an Aerospray covers more turf than for most other weapons, but those 6 stats are the most impactful ones. Unfortunately, I don't know about bullet width and wish I knew about that as well.
Here's a big, albeit cryptic chart that has a whole lotta information on all shooter and blaster weapons.
EDIT: Whoops, got the wrong link rofl. Here's the actual chart. ^Music ^stays ^tho
These are good exercises for artists too!

I don't think they would have to manually update it. They can make a bot to do it. they might be able to use if this then that (I've never used it so, I'm not 100% sure if it would work). so that it updates it whenever it changes but I think they would have to find another website or something that already does it for it to work.
Edit: I looked into it and the way that website works is that it takes something from facebook, twitter, tumblr etc., and can post it to reddit. so hypothetically, if there's somewhere on the web that already does it, it can post a link onto reddit, and maybe theres a way for /u/Squid_bot, to pick that up automatically and update every four hours and then delete the post, but I don't even know if the last part is possible. The easiest way is probably to just make it open to the public like what /u/Rapptz said.

There's a comparison chart of the different Elgatos down farther on that page. You could save a little less than $40 by not getting the HD60, but then you wouldn't get get 60 FPS recording, and this game looks stunning in full 60 FPS, so just save up a little more and get the HD60.
It will record anything that can feed it video via an HDMI cable, so it works with all current systems, and anything else you have that outputs HDMI.
It could even be made to work with adapters from other interfaces to HDMI, I'm pretty sure although you'd need get the audio stream in their separately if you cared about having it. But I'm digressing.
It's seems to be pretty much standard for everyone to use these, and considering their capabilities and ease of use, the price is excellent.

Have you tried Amazon? I preordered mine the same time splatoon 2 went back up for preorder on the website. Try this link: HORI Nintendo Switch Splatoon 2 Splat & Chat Headset
Here you go! Japanese characters display funny, so if that doesn't work, try this link and just type in "amiibo" in the search. You need a separate Amazon account for the Japanese site though. It's about 2500 yen, which is about $22.59. Even if you have to pay for shipping, that's a steal!
On Amazon US (as a prime member), the Japan Imports (Aori and Fire Fly) are $33.88 USD (bout 30% more per amiibo compared to normal 2 pack price IIRC). Might wanna try that, and hopefully that link gives you your Amazon Canada rendition. Additionally, if you haven't used your free month of prime, I guess this is a best possible scenario.
Outside of that I got no other info.

Sure thing! I got the both the wader overalls and the boots off of Amazon. Amazon the only place that had them in a bright orange color and in my size without costing a ridiculous amount of money. If you don't want to spend this much, I'd suggest looking into rain pants/coveralls. I did look at places such as Bass Pro Shop and Cabela's as well.
As you can see, the boots were originally a slate gray color. tbh coloring the boots and getting them to not smear paint all over the place was probably one of the toughest parts of the costume. I ended up spray painting the surface directly w/o a primer and sealed them with two layers of clear coat. The paint is already starting to wear off again (less messily this time than my original attempt) and I'm already scheming how I'm going to fix them up when the time comes.

If you are curious about getting a capture card, Amazon has both the the AVerMedia Gamer Live HD 2 and Portable 2 for $99 right now. Pretty good price for a 1080p60 card as the comparable El Gato and other such competitors usually run $150+.
I picked the Live HD 2 the other day and have been messing around with it. Quality looks sweet once I dialed in OBS with both streaming and recording. Plus, it's also an excuse to finally get my Ryzen 7 1700 to flex its muscles outside of gaming. Setup was pretty straightforward, but I am noticing some quirks as I try to get the audio to pass through to my headset instead of my current noisy headphone port to line in setup. I may even start recording more of my trash league X rank Rainmaker shenanigans as I always forget to use the built-in recorder in the heat of the moment.
So first you need to download a VPN. Free VPNs usually suck so try to find a cheap one, or one with a free trial. I used FrootVPN as one of its advertised features was "No NAT". Then you need to connect your computer to the VPN and create a hotspot on your computer to share the VPN connection with the Switch console. This video () showed me how to do that. After following the steps in the video you should be able to connect your Switch to the hotspot. After you get this down, it should only take a few minutes to set up each time you want to play barring any technical difficulties.
When choosing a VPN server try to choose one close to your location to reduce ping. Also, try to keep your computer and Switch console close so you don't experience interference.
After using the VPN, my NAT type went from D to B, but my download speed went down from 20 MB/s to 6 MB/s. This is enough to play Splatoon, but if your download speed is lower than 3 MB/s after using the VPN you may not be able to play unless you somehow improve your speeds (with an ethernet cable?)
The app is 6.5 MB. That's like two songs.
For comparison, this app does even less and takes up more space. 9.5 Meg's, according to the Play Store.

Also they stop the forward advance of the enemy team in the first 10 second of the map by rushing to the middle and punishing those that try to take control of the zone. They are also mobile which essentially extend their zone of control.
Are you in an apartment building with lots of 2.4ghz wifi signals?
If you are, I bet you have a neighbor that's running their wifi on a channel that interferes with yours. People love to touch the channel setting on their router because they see their neighbors are all on channel 1, 6 or 11. Woomy is one of the things inkling girls say when they're excited. It's one of several sounds that play at random when you talk to an inkling girl in the plaza or do any of these as an inkling girl: Splat an enemy in single player, activate your special in multiplayer, press down on the D-pad (Booyah/Nice) in multiplayer, and throw a bomb through the basket in the weapon testing area. Ideally you'll check this from another wireless device, rather than something on an ethernet cable. For reference, https://speedof.me reports mine's 39ms, which is what I'd expect, and I never have problems playing.
Other than that, trying a USB ethernet adapter would be your next cheapest option, since they go for about $12 on Amazon (not the Nintendo-branded ones). Just make sure other people say they work with the Switch, I think the Amazon Basics ones didn't for me (that was last year, at least).
Not sure if any hardware changes will change anything, since you say it just started in the last week or so. Maybe it's the ghosts of the squid kids you've splatted!
Here's a calendar for Splatoon tournaments that ;James is maintaining: https://www.docdroid.net/lLeA6r7/2016-splatoon-tournament-calendar20160302.pdf.html
I'm pretty sure March is accurate, but I don't know enough about events in April. Matches for Leagues Under The Ink (LUTI) have no specific time, just a requirement that participating teams play at least 1 match per week. For more details, check out this link: http://squidboards.com/threads/presenting-leagues-under-the-ink-season-1-signups.20940/
And of course there's the Splatoon Premier League (eSPL) that EndGameTV has set up, which you've been linked to.
I can confirm that it works for me (europe). I opened the US and JP demos on my EU account and it converted the time correctly. For example: The Direct sayed US splatfest is 3-7pm (pt) on 15th. According to https://www.worldtimebuddy.com/ it ends 4am on 16th for my timezone. And the ingame time says the same.
You have to buy the soundtracks since Nintendo does not sell digital copies of it. Your next best bet is listening to it on YouTube.
It's a bit more expensive than what's on Amazon, but you can get it directly from Nintendo if you want something 100% official.
Edit: I should also mention, this is the one I got off Amazon, and it's been working fine for me. I think pretty much any of them should work.
Oh those are the bigger versions (Otamatone Deluxe) as I mentioned earlier. Also aside from sizes, apparently this is the only video I have of someone having notes on their otamatone, but if you can find a way to sticker print it then it'll maker it simpler.
You can -- I got mine from Amazon Japan, and it appears they still have copies available. No issues shipping to the US. Usual overseas caveats apply -- beware of your credit card charging foreign transaction fees.
Seems like we're all in luck! Look what I just saw popped up today on Amazon...
https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B072BZ66JL
(that one was on Amazon France, and was the cheapest I've seen so far). However, if they don't deliver to where you live, it seems that the main USA amazon has these as japanese imports with international shipping (much more expensive, but is a way to get them if all else fails)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072BZ66JL
not seen them on any of the other amazons yet, but I reckon if given long enough they eventually will. (but for now, those above two methods are already possible!)
Hope this helps!
US amazon seems to be out of stock.
That's awesome!
It costs the same regardless of where you get it from, so just go to Amazon and purchase the digital copy from them, then download it.
Thanks a ton!
My corporate shill game is on point today, but I just wanted to point out that there's a switch case with this art (minus the photoshopped guy) on amazon
Yea, that's the one I wanted but I think it's a soft case.
The listing for it on Amazon Japan shows the packaging (this link be crazy, it had Japanese in the URL). https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E4%BB%BB%E5%A4%A9%E5%A0%82-Nintendo-Switch%E3%82%AD%E3%83%A3%E3%83%AA%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B0%E3%82%B1%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B9-%E3%82%B9%E3%83%97%E3%83%A9%E3%83%88%E3%82%A5%E3%83%BC%E3%83%B32%E3%82%A8%E3%83%87%E3%82%A3%E3%82%B7%E3%83...
And then on Amazon US, there's a plain Switch case with the same packaging, leading me to believe it's the same as the Splatoon one, just with no design. And reviews for this one definitely say it's a soft design that's meant more for scratches than any real protection. https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Carrying-Case-Screen-Protector/dp/B01N226BBW/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1502000425&sr=1-1&keywords=nintendo+switch+case&refinements=p_89%3ANintendo
But yea, this is the design I wanted, just on a hard case.
Did you know Amazon will donate a portion of every purchase if you shop by going to smile.amazon.com instead? Over $50,000,000 has been raised for charity - all you need to do is change the URL!
Here are your smile-ified links:

The Pro Controller caps were imported from Japan.
If all you're after are green/pink caps in general, you could also try these from Amazon. I had them before I got the other set and they looked quite good, especially for the price.
Team invisibility yo! I could be the worlds first ever nudist bank robber :p They both look like a fantastic prize, but the coasters get my slight preference because they are truly limited edition. I can't exactly get them very easily later :) (P.S. The one thing I would add to the coasters are little rubber feet. It gives them traction and provides an air barrier for condensation if you have a cold drink. Here's some I found on Amazon )
Edit: a word
If you are looking for an adapter. I would suggest this one on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Network-Adapter-UtechSmart-Ethernet-Chromebook/dp/B00F41TWAO
It is cheap, and it worked perfectly for my Wii U and my Switch.
