True. However if you have root you can modify the settings of Doze so it can still kick in if there's movement.
Install Naptime and give it adb permisison, then you'll see the magic.
I was facing exactly the same issue, during midnight me device will lose about 22%, after I installed naptime and give it the permission, the device will go to deep sleep now.
I've found Naptime to have a nice UI and options (ie restore to default settings/aggressive doze toggle). Plus I trust the dev more, it's from Francisco Franco who makes FrancoKernel.

Naptime is a great app to force doze mode on your phone regardless of sensor data when you want it so. Brought stuff like over night drain down to about 2% on my phone.
No root required and is enabled only when you do so. Great app if you want to save that extra bit of juice when you're not gonna use your phone for a while.
This is on the stock rom B32 for A2017U.

This was from using NapTime by Francisco Franco, the god of XDA.
Edit: FYI requires root.

Might be a faulty unit.
Try this app and see if it changes anything. It's a bit more involved to installs though ♂️
I've had the same problem but Naptime improved things greatly.
Doze should be working, but you can use Naptime to force it if you want. AccuBattery can make you more aware of your battery charge but I don’t think it can stop it automatically. I know there definitely is a way to cut off charging below 100% but I don’t know what it is.
You might want to try Naptime. I started using this app recently and it has helped me with my stand-by battery drain. It doesn't require root but you do have to run some ADB commands.
Been having the same issue on mido. Strangely, most reviews of Lineage 15.1 on mido speak of improved battery life.
In the meantime you might try Naptime by Francisco Franco (of Franco Kernel fame). It'll trigger doze mode more aggressively, within minutes of screen off. I've been using it for a couple of days, have had some noticeable improvement.

Its here The most acclaimed feature is up! Naptime aggressive doze rootless! Get it now, it's free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze

Greenify works. At its core, all it does is basically suspends apps when the screen is off. Android's Doze does the same thing as well, except Doze is built into the OS since Marshmallow. Doze however, only kicks in when your phone has been laying flat, idle and not plugged in for more than 30 minutes. As soon as you move the phone, Doze mode ends. With Greenify though, it hibernates the apps as soon as the screen goes off, and resumes them when the screen is back on.
Personally, since Marshmallow, I've stopped using Greenify on my phone and just use Fransisco Franco's Naptime. Franco's app basically enables aggressive doze, so your phone goes into doze mode as soon as the screen is off. (Greenify has this option now too). I still use Greenify on my tablet - it has this nice feature where it shows you how long your device has been dozing for. :)
Hope this answers your question!
Btw, could you please reply saying "Solved"? Thanks!

Forgot to mention using an app called Naptime that forces Doze as soon as the screen turns off (Makes a huge difference) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=en
One of them is called Naptime by Francisco Franco. I know there is at least one more, but I don't know the name of it. This does require root, but is customizable.
Also as mentioned below, Greenify has an "Aggressive Doze" feature, and I'm fairly certain it doesn't require root. It isn't configurable though, it just goes into Doze whenever the screen is off.
I'm using these settings. but I have inactive_to set to 10 seconds instead of 10 minutes.
~~IIRC there is also a non root version that i recalled seeing on /r/Android last week. I'll see if i can find it and link it when I'm off mobile.~~
My mistake, the OP had a misleading title. I lied sorry :(
They all require root, which is logical considering what it's doing. There are two out there that I've somewhat read up on, one and two
Honestly what I do on my P6 is to install an app called Naptime. Its an aggressive sleep app that allows you to achieve better battery life when the phone is asleep. It sucks that these phones can't do this on their own, but that is the reality of the situation until google decides to fix it in a monthly patch.
Here is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
I installed naptime and aodNotify. The latter for the sole purpose to only activate the AOD when I actually got a notification. Also 5G is disabled due to bad availability in my region.
Both help to reduce standby drain ( the AOD ate nearly 30% battery over the day) and Google's battery optimization finally kicked in to reduce my drain while actually using the device.
In the end i went from barely 6h SOT and charging my phone 2x a day to 8-9h SOT on one charge !
In my experience (this varies on the SoC, OS and apps used)
reduce number of apps that are out of battery optimization
Bluetooth 10 hours a day has a negligible drain
keeping sync on affects drain but not by much
kicking apps out of ram won't affect battery drain
wifi uses less battery than data (specially if network signal is weak)
GPS and high brightness could take out 2-4 hours of screen-on time
Naptime has some cool features, mainly with aggressive dozing, turning off data/wifi/Bluetooth, GPS. Used it in the past and managed to increase my screen-on time by 1-3 hours.
Never used Amplify but chances are you'll still find the latest version of it on XDA.
I used Naptime in the past and it did make a difference. Not sure if it reduces NLP but it sure is aggressive with dozing.

This app will basically force the phone to go to deep sleep immediately after turning the screen off. Usually it'll only activate after a couple of minutes and if the ohne hasn't been moved.
Use a slow charger (10w) when you're not in a hurry to go somewhere.
I also remove back cover of my phone while charging, and put my phone over the cover like +, | is cover - is phone 😂
Don't use phone while charging.
you can use this app to keep your phone in doze mode when it's charging.
Mine isn't as bad but the battery drain overnight is still unacceptable. I have to use the Naptime app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze) in order to prevent the battery drain.
I use this app to save battery at night/all day Naptime it'll enter doze mode instantly for Android. Give it a try and you'll thank me for it.
use naptime app from play store. enable aggressive doze and disable sensors on doze. doesn't even require root, you can give required permissions via ADB. It solved my draining issue. I had %7 - %8 drain overnight but now I have %0, %1 maximum.
Flight mode
Brightness all the way down (and turn auto brightness off)
Use this app, it'll make the phone go into deep sleep as soon as the screen is off.
Go into Settings and shut off background processes for all apps.
I've mentioned before in other threads, but the trick I use to achieve these more than respectable scores is an app called Naptime. It forces the phone into doze mode more frequently than native Android and that saves a ton of battery.
This is on a 3a. My trick is I use an app called NapTime and disable all the google apps that I don't use (Maps, Auto, Drive, Movies, Youtube)
Hmm. I'm curious about that. What are your experiences with it? Do you know much about these devices? I'm sorta techy, if you can even say that, but I don't really know my way around these devices and I can't seem to figure out how to get naptime installed on it, which is a go-to as soon as I get a new android device normally
Get Naptime and run it with ADB.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=en
I'm getting 4h45m SOT on 13hrs standby averages (according to GSAM) on the smaller S20. Based on what I've seen on the battery thread here, I'm getting better battery life than the ones using Exynos S20+ despite having the smaller battery and being on 120Hz. And that's with playing games like NBA 2k20 for like 2hrs a day.
I agree that idling on LG's stock ROM isn't very good compared to other phones or non-stock ROMs such as LineageOS (I'm used to 0–1% charge consumption overnight, no airplane mode, from previous phones).
I use Naptime's aggressive doze feature for idling overnight (no airplane mode, 7–8 hours), and that takes off around 3% on a 4100 mAh battery. My V20 is rooted, but Naptime also seems to work without root after running some permission commands when connecting the phone to a computer.
The latest update on the sprint version has a wakelock that I never bothered figuring out what it was.
You can use this, once the Android 10 update comes I would recommend doing a full wipe and you should be solid. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
Probably the best solution. You have to go to adb to enable it but when the phone is sleeping. It puts into dose mode really quickly and trys to save more battery. Reviews look promising
The joys of Android. Perhaps the screen off now overrides any endeavours to keep things active every 9 minutes before doze kicks in. In fact, that does ring a bell.
You could try to manipulate doze but not sure of the millage on non root. Custom Settings -> Secure -> doze_always_on - 0/1 and/or Run Shell settings put secure doze_enabled 0/1
Also stuff like the old Naptime which I believe does the same but he is/was a solid Dev so may have more tricks up his sleeve.
Naptime is an app by Francisco Franco who is well known trusted dev. It causes Android to drop into a heavy Doze state after a matter of minutes rather than the usual 2 hours. Started using it a couple of weeks ago and it seems to be helping lower my standby drain. Its free with IAP available
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=en_IE
Use Naptime from Franco..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=en I get less then 0.32% per night on Poco.
It doesn't look like LG IMS has been updated at all over time. On both my LS997 on Nougat and H918 on Alpha Omega Oreo, the version number for it is 4.0.20150602.
Meanwhile, you could check if forcing aggressive doze using something like Naptime stops the draining. But that's probably not something you'd want to enable during daytime usage.
Naptime. You have to enter an ADB command
Either that one or ForceDoze, same command
Thanks for the insight!
Re: sleeping - I've never had an issue, but I've been using this since day one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
In addition, I use the Magisk module to force Google services to doze.
My standby time is essentially a flat line.
i meant that the dirty flashing changes the kernel back to the default one without the need to format the device for it, saving about 3 hours of time.
However you could try francos Naptime to control the battery consumption
Of course you could try forcing cores on and off via ADB. 0-3 are little and 4-7 are big, little cores are usually the one's depleting the battery with the clockspeeds, however if you only run with the bigger cores(may not work) hitching can/will occur so you need to find a balance for it
GL;HF
1st its not 10% it's only 5%. That isnt too bad.
What i would do is. 1) turn off wifi, the setting you have still keeps wifi active.
2) turn off data saver, this uses android system and drains battey.
3) install Naptime this will solve your issues when screen off by putting phone into Doze faster.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
4) follow this to ignore wakelocks that are waking up your phone when screen off. https://www.xda-developers.com/stop-wakelocks-android-without-root/
If you want a button, the Naptime app has a widget which turns off your screen? Also helps battery life too.
Other wise, just use the lock/power button? You can change your security settings, turnoff "instantly lock screen", and set a delay instead.
Forces your phone into Doze after 5 seconds of sleep, saves on idle battery life a lot. You can get it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
I remember looking that up before (I have a Laser running CM too) and this Xiaomi thread was the only thing I found. It seems to have something to do with bluetooth ? which I don't completely believe since I don't use mine at all and it still shows up in my stats (mine still deep sleeps regularly though).
I suggest trying to force doze with either Greenify (Settings > Aggressive Doze) or Naptime. Try putting it in Airplane Mode too to prevent notifications from waking it up. If it's still not dozing, maybe try updating CM? Or at least reflashing your current then clearing the cache.
Hope this helps.
I had the same issue with battery. The only thing that worked for me was to root my phone and install Naptime. I turned on Aggresive Doze and disable motion detection. Now when I'm not using my phone its constantly in doze mode. My email notifications are delayed until I wake up my phone, but other notifications (Texts, phone calls) are in realtime. Using this made my battery ALOT better than when I was on MM, its amazing
From my understanding of the "bug", the phone is constantly doing things in the background even when the screen is off. It never goes into a standby or sleep or doze state. So the leak of battery is happening when the screen is off.
I recommend installing Naptime if you have root. Get root if you don't. This makes the sleep mode much more aggressive and your standby time should get back to normal, maybe even better than MM. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=en
If you really can't get root, you can also try to simulate this behaviour by setting Keep Wifi On During Sleep to "Never" and also turning on Data Saver. This also kinda forces the phone to get into a sleep state when the screen is off. Because Wifi will turn off when the screen goes off, and then Data Saver kicks in to prevent most apps from getting updates at this time.
Hey, I have an LG G4, soo im not sure exactly how to help you fix the problem, but give these two apps a try (I'm assuming your phone is rooted).

And the screen off doze comes from
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
Need root and select aggressive doze!
I use this app. I have my settings do have Doze kick in after ten minutes of idling, regardless of motion. I've also changed the idle factor to 3.
Greenify, plus Franco's Naptime if rooted for its Agressive Doze function - instead of Marshmallow Doze requiring the phone to be untouched & unmoving for doze to kick in, this app does it when the screen is merely turned off.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=en
Got mine from eBay/Argos too! I presume it was the 32 GB model?
EDIT: Also, I'm fairly sure they aren't brand new N7's, they're more than likely to be refurbished. As for tweaks, I suggest looking through XDA's N7 2013 forum, there're plenty of good custom ROMs available. I'm currently running AOSP-based 6.0.1 ROM and it works amazingly. Naptime may also help for battery life
Gotta say, my rooted custom CM N5 is awesome on MM. Never had a more seamlessly smooth phone. And if you have root, Naptime by Franco allows you to configure doze to uber-aggressive mode. When the screen is off my phone uses very little battery whatsoever
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=en
There is actually. There are a couple of apps for it. I saw them mentioned the other day. But for the life of me I can't think of the names.
Edit: found one for you. Made by the same guy that makes Franco Kernel. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=de
It's an App where you can Adjust the Doze Settings or use it aggressivly where it would try to Doze right after the Screen goes off.
I am aware of that, but I figured I had little to lose by giving it a try. Here are a couple root options.

Here you go for those that might want it
By default yes. But you can change the settings to just use screen off.
I believe with either of these apps you can disable doze by extending the period of time your phone needs to be inactive for. Neither requires root in that they (at least for Doze settings editor) provide you with an adb command you can run to change doze's settings. But root will allow the app to change them directly.
Also note that Doze settings editor is open source while I don't believe Naptime is.
This is not to say that native control of doze wouldn't be appreciated.
My previous phone was Moto X 2014 and I'm loving the OP3. 5.5hrs of screen-on time using FreedomOS with the included ElementalX kernel. I also enabled Aggressive Doze, take your pick of NapTime or ForceDoze (if you want to go non-root), I'm going back and forth trying them out.
Checkout the Absolutely Savage YouTube channel for some case reviews including glass compatibility. If you go with an official case or caseless, I'd suggest a dbrand skin.
Edit: minor text fixes
Battery Saving Tips:
Non-rooted:
Optional Developer Settings which works really well: 1. Animation Scale set to 0.5x. 2. Disable HW Overlays - Uses GPU instead of the hardware. Smoooothh system! Not really that much impact to Battery. 3. *Background Process Limit * - I use 4 processes limit. Any excess process will be removed it's cached from memory. Saves battery.
Rooted:
Other benefit of rooted system which I personally enjoy: * Lucky Patcher! * Magisk Modules * Adaway * Paid apps 🤣
Saving battery doesnt mean you need to be in Power Saving mode 27/7. There's so much we can do in Android system. I AM not a poweruser, though, I've been using rooted system since s4 and I always check XDA for some tips and new features I can enjoy.
Thanks for reading. If there's anything I can help, feel free to reach out!
Not necessarily, I'm not sure about Naptime but Doze Settings Editor can provide you with the current Doze settings and an adb command to edit it with if you don't have root. But root will allow the app to change them directly.
Android Police Article about both apps
Also note that Doze settings editor is open source while I don't believe Naptime is.

FWIW I recently updated. I tried Lineageos (Pie) plus several different roms but it just had a couple of bugs I didn't like and couldn't quite get over.
I finally went with Tugapower (Pie), nano GApps from Open GApps plus the Fz Rom and Magisk for root. It seems stable, everything works, battery is best it's ever been on this phone.
It does have the occasional crash/reboot due to the infamous "wcnss crash reboot 0" which is apparently a known issue related to wifi drivers; I haven't been able to find a solution. I also had occasional random reboots on Lineageos but I was never able to figure out the cause--it might well be the same. I believe the wifi drivers are basically a qualcomm package (proprietary? or at just a big blob that no one really wants to/knows how to mess with) so likely everyone uses the same. The reboots are seldom enough that it isn't really an issue.
Advantage of Fz kernel seems to be that the phone actually goes into doze when turned off. Which no other rom/kernel combination I tried did, without some outside program to force it (Greenify, Naptime).
FWIW I'm running Fz with SmartPack Kernel Manager, zzmoove CPU manager, CPU Boost with pretty conservative settings (on, 800 ms, 1190400 boost), CPUQuiet set to userspace (which means "off" - ie, let some other hotplug manager do the work), and Hotplug manager MSM Hotplug with minimum 1, max 4 cores screen on and max 2 cores screen off, MSM Thermal with max temp at 75 degrees. In Misc turn Doze on (it is on by default, so you don't really have to do anything). This seems to be a decent compromise between battery life & responsiveness
Also in SmartPack under "Low Memory Killer" I set to Very Aggressive. This seems to help the situation I've encountered both on this Rom & previous ones, where after opening a bunch of apps within a pretty short time the phone will grind to practically a halt, but will spring back to life instantly if I go & "swipe off" all the open apps.
"Universal GMS Doze" Magisk module seems to help some with doze/battery life.
Also I run Naptime with aggressive doze enabled and a little app I write called "Network Off Battery Saver" that does what it says on the tin, which seems to help battery life a lot, because when the wifi/mobile data is turned off when the screen is off, apps basically have not choice but to doze.
This is purely optional, but I also run EdXposed (install Riru core and Riru EdXposed (YAHFA) from Magisk, then the EdXposed Manager) with modules Exi for Swiftkey, GravityBox, Hide Emergency Button, and Secure Settings. Exi+Swiftkey is the best keyboard combination I've found by a mile; it's almost usable.*
Last but not least, to pass Android Safety Check with this combo, I installed SafetyPatch, liboemcrypto disabler, and MagiskHide Props Config. (Not sure which of those is absolutely essential - SafetyPatch for sure.)
Per Accubattery, I'm getting around 6 hours screen-on time (ie, if you started with 100% battery and did nothing but screen-on) and less than 1%/hour battery drain with screen off and nothing else happening (ie, no audio play). If I play audio with screen off it is like 4-5% per hour.

*Touchscreen typing and text editing on a small screen is such a shitshow that "almost usable" is very high praise indeed. With Exi you can set the spacebar (or, at your preference, different areas of the on-screen keyboard) to be a little touchpad, which makes zipping around text to edit it really usable for once. Also it has a pie menu you can set up by swiping up from the space bar that has all normal text editing functions easily available--select all, copy, paste, undo, redo, jump to start/end, etc. So ordinary text editing becomes doable instead of nearly impossible.
For anyone in this thread having battery issues, here are some fantastic apps that DO NOT require root that can improve battery:
Naptime - Forces Android's built in Doze feature to activate quicker, meaning you'll have less standby idle drain. This can really help your phone last over night.
Greenify - Kills the apps you select when you lock your phone, leaving less apps open in the background when you're done using them.
Brevent - Much like Greenify, this app will kill apps you select when you stop using them for a specified amount of time. Brevent is more automated and also allows you to edit the "App Ops" permissions of every app (you can even disable Google Play Services' ability to keep a wake lock if you want). Additionally you can have the app only ENABLE Google Play Services when an app that requires them is in use.
Better Battery Stats - Exactly what it sounds like. This app will make it infinitely easier to identify what is draining your battery, whether it be an app or a rogue background process. Easy to use and does not contribute to battery drain as much as some other battery stats apps as it doesn't need to be open constantly to report stats (it just compiles them together in a readable format from Android's logs).
To start do you have 8.0.1 as your os, and what variant to do you have (Location and carrier)? settings/about phone/model number, as well as software info/android ver.
Then in you have oreo proceed to these steps:
settings/connections/nfc and payment, if you don't use it uncheck it. 1a. connections/location/high accuracy if you want to use stuff like google maps in car. Then pick improve accuracy and uncheck both of those as they just eat battery and gps is always better unless your live in a tunnel or something. 1b. Connections/more connection settings/nearby scanning check it off and same with booster if it's on.
Can ignore if you want this section is for speed more so then battery.
2a. go to about phone/software info/ tap on build number 6-7 times to make dev options appear. Back out to settings/dev options/only change these things: under drawing/change window, transition, and animator scale from 1.5x to 0.5x (faster animations less time waiting for phone to show you things).
once you have it and have given it permissions just enable super doze then go to settings/device
maintenance/battery/middle click battery usage/3 dots up top right optimize battery usage. Then pick all apps and uncheck only the ones you want give you background push notifications ect. (calendar, gmail, browser, facebook ect.)
Do this and your standby time should be basically be like 1-2% per hour.
(Gonna post this on my pc then upload images to it on the phone.) Edit: why the formatting on the post is jacked up idk. https://imgur.com/a/FNODzeR
If you're getting too much idle drain then you should give this a try
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
You can get naptime here, don't think you need to have xposed, being rooted is enough. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
I installed Elemental on Nougat and it gave me an extra 1 hour of battery life. It helped alot. I have 5 hours SOT now most days. Stock settings but I did change animation settings (0.5, 0.5, and off)
You should really try the following changes too, on top of a custom kernel
This basically fixed the standby issue where it sucks all your battery when the phone is lying still. Naptime also enforces aggressive doze.
I believe neither requires root in that they (at least for Dose settings editor) provide you with a adb command you can run to change doze's settings. Root simply allows the app to change them directly.
Also note that Doze settings editor is open source while I don't believe Naptime is.
You can tweak Doze settings with it
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
No clue but try and use Naptime: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
You might miss some notifications though 😅
Here are some suggestions:
- Naptime / Greenify, battery savers. I'm not sure how well battery apps actually work, but both these apps support "aggressive doze" which seems to be somewhat popular.
- Gsam, a battery monitor that can give somewhat better stats than the built-in monitor.
- ClipStack, a clipboard logger.
- gnirehtet, a reverse-tehtering tool. It's used to relay wifi from a computer to a phone through ADB.
- TAKE_AUDIO_FOCUS, a command that can be used on certain apps to make them play audio while other apps are also playing audio.
Thanks for all the details. Lots of useful content here, and I'll be happy to chime in:
Like the other commenter mentioned, you didn't state which custom kernel you're using. Is it one of the mk2000 ones?
I've always been curious about "Google-free" setups but never looked much into them. With MicroG, are they any notable compatibility issues with apps that rely on Google Play Services parts? And for those who use apps that need to pass SafetyNet (luckily, I don't), are there any problems?
I'm guessing that the heavy debloating helps quite a bit when the phone is just idling. It will be interesting to see what kind of battery life you get with regular use (average screen-on-time per day for most users would probably be around 3 hours).
For anyone wondering about the different kernel tweak profiles, I think that you'd mostly only notice major differences between them if you're either a very light or very heavy user. As a light to moderate user, I've hardly seen any difference between the Ghostpepper, Hawkpepper, and Zhana Battery AKT profiles and even the balanced profile of the LKT Magisk module (a more universal kernel tweak). One profile that did make a difference for me was AKT's X.A.N.A. Battery, which I found to be too aggressive as it killed some apps in the background after switching away for only a minute (and I'm on Nougat which should have less issues with that than Oreo).
Overall, I think the most substantial battery life boost still comes from going from the OEM battery to one of the 4100–4300 LiPo batteries.
I used the popular Greenify/PowerNap/Amplify combo for older devices on Android 5.1 and 6. Amplify never worked for anything I had on Nougat, so I stopped looking at it there. For idling overnight, I use Naptime's aggressive doze feature.
And for those who use the Xposed Framework and like gestures/shortcuts, I'm a big fan of Xposed edge. I use it for things like double-tapping the upper/lower side edge to scroll to the top/bottom in most apps and long-pressing the bottom right edge to bring up the power-off/reboot menu. It can also quickly freeze/unfreeze apps.
Try installing Naptime and see if you get any improvement in standby drain.

This puts the phone in deep sleep as soon as the display is off
> Greenify-like feature
You can run Greenify without root, but you're better off just configuring Doze using Naptime (don't need root).
> permissions model is crap compared to Privacy Guard.
You can use the App Ops app for that (don't need root).
> remember to plug my phone into that computer
No need for that. Connect your phone to PC, run adb tcpip 5555
, disconnect your phone and then run adb connect YourPhonesIP
. Now you can do an adb backup wirelessly.
> No BusyBox is already infuriating, but I guess I'll have to live with it and just SSH to a real Linux box to do stuff.
You really should get Termux and its companion apps (API, Task etc) ASAP. You get a full GNU environment along with Debian's apt package manager and access to a repo containing all your popular tools like git, vim, imagemagick, python.. all your usual culprits plus alternative shells like zsh, fish etc. Pretty much everything, really. And the API access allows you to call these binaries and interact with this environment outside of Termux and vice-versa. This is incredibly powerful and gets you the best of Android and GNU/Linux. As an example: I can share a screenshot to a Tasker task, which resizes the image using imagemagick in Termux, and then uploads it to imgur using a python script and copies the URL to the system clipboard using the Termux API. So basically a 1-tap share gives me a url ready to paste directly to my app of choice. :)
Termux is so handy I always have it running in the background and I access it via a drop-down edge gesture so I have an always accessible terminal, much like Guake on my PC. :)
And if that's not enough either, get UserLAnd to run a real Linux distro on Android, without root. :)
Or Naptime.
I recommend checking this out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=pl
With root: Naptime. Using this too and it improves the battery life a lot. Everything except whitelisted apps shuts down 5 seconds after screen lock. Also, check out Servicely, that gives control on services (which may wake up the device)
Without root: Doze which will appear as a VPN to the phone (although it isn't an actual VPN, just uses VPN functionalities to manage internet access). Haven't tried it myself, but this will probably be the most control you can gain without root
Did you try Naptime? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
I also use Macrodroid to turn location and sync off when the screen turns off.
latest is Naptime
You can use Nap Time for that. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
It controls doze. It makes your device sleep faster. You can enable it via adb.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
not an open source app, but Naptime has such feature
This answer is accurate, but the explanation is only half the picture. It's less about application cache and more about android's underlying processes. Primaraly: Adaptive Battery and Doze
Give it about a week of normal use post-reset before you measure to make sure that it at least has some idea of when to doze and when not to. Alternatively you could use something like Naptime to simulate aggressive doze over a period of time and measure true idle consumption.
:(. Try Naptime.

Anyway, check this out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
I'm guessing it's this one
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
Do you mean Naptime? NapSleep didn't bring up any results for me
Why would you do that? save battery?
For that I recommend Naptime app.
I installed Naptime and gave it ADB permissions and it fixed the battery drain on my phone.
Stock Android will manage battery fairly well on its own. Most users shouldn't have to do anything more than keep the Adaptive Battery feature on, enabling Battery Saver when you're in a pinch, and basic battery management tips like disabling Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/mobile data when you're not using them, adjust your screen brightness, etc.
But its possible to do more advanced battery management if you wish, to squeeze out more battery life. First thing you'll need to do is install Android platform tools and enable USB debugging on your device, if you don't already know how to. Instructions: https://www.xda-developers.com/quickly-install-adb/
Three things you can do:
Would highly suggest against messing around with apps like Greenify or Brevent, unless you really know what you're doing. Good luck.
I'd recommend Franco's "Naptime". (IAP or watch a 30 second video ad to unlock for free for 24 hours)
You'll want to install "Google's USB drivers" and grab a copy of "Google's ADB utilities", and turn on "Developers Mode" on your phone. Once you have these setup, give Naptime the appropriate privileges
adb shell pm grant com.franco.doze android.permission.DUMP
adb shell pm grant com.franco.doze android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
I've been using this app to extend my battery up to 4+ days (Pixel 3a). Note: ^(McAfee's was a hold over from my Note 9 and now that my subscription is finished, I'm not using it anymore.)
It won't increase your screen on time (SOT) but will force the phone into doze mode more frequently and more rapidly, so when you're not using the phone, it'll sip on the battery with a skinny straw.
Naptime has been helpful for me.
Try using Naptime, might help lower idle drain
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
I use this to remedy the drain somewhat.
You could try Naptime... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
You're lucky you even had that. I just posted recently about issues with this, and I have been at 0% deep sleep. Everything I was trying wasn't working...But...hope.
I believe I am finally finding significant doze time and low idle power drop with Naptime (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=en) and Servicely (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.servicely&hl=en) by the same developer.
WakeBlock wasn't working out with blocking wakelocks, and I was finding the phone less usable while the screen was on. Servicely blocks wakelocks while the screen is off, which is more of what I wanted. You will likely need BBS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats&hl=en_US) to identify the wakelocks.
Yes. Naptime app from playstore. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
Se hai il root, prova ad utilizzare Naptime, il quale non fa altro che forzare il Doze di Android.
Naptime does the same thing and is still being worked on by the developer.
I use Naptime to improve standby time.
Try Naptime, works like a charm.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
I use naptime. Works the charm https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=en_US
I use Nap Time, same thing basically though claims to be a Super Doze!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
It's a root app made by the custom kernel developer Franco, which forces Doze to turn on when the screen turns off. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
Doze is built in and you can tweak it with Naptime if the defaults don't suit your needs. You don't need Greenify.
Try installing Naptime app, if you have root. You'll get 5 hours SOT. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=en
I use Naptime (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze), but it doesn't seem to do much. CM sips battery when screen is off so I wouldn't be too concerned.
I use it for Naptime :)
Link for the lazy : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
Anyone have an opinion about Naptime from Franco?
Only for rooted devices: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
If you're rooted naptime does this already.
Another upvote for temasek. Also use Naptime by Franco for aggressive doze as well as greenify https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze&hl=en
Could be a bug in Sultan ROM. Why don't you try a Marshmallow based ROM such as Resurrection Remix or CM13? Reports indicate pretty good battery life, and Marshmallow in particular with it's Doze feature, is excellent at tackling the overnight battery drain issue.
I'm running CM13 on my device and I haven't yet felt the need to use Amplify or or GravityBox for battery saving. The only app I'm using is Naptime which forces Doze mode to turn on as soon as the screen is off.
Oh, and if you do decide to try the new ROM, don't install any Xposed modules for a or so, and try not to restore all your apps. Then if you're happy with the ROM's stability and battery life, slowly get back your main apps/modules and see if the ROM remains stable.
PS: If this answers your query, please reply with "Solved". Thanks!

You can't schedule it, but you can tweak it to trigger doze faster, and you need root.
I think Franco's new app Naptime supports this, although I could be wrong.
Are you talking about this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze It is in Play Store but it requires root unfortunately.
Standby on Marshmallow is incredible. My 6P loses 2-3% overnight, Doze enhanced by Naptime.
Naptime seems to work well for me. Although, you'll either need to have root or grant 2 permissions through adb. I had to create a miui account to enable usb debugging (security settings) in dev options in order for the permissions to work.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
Just gonna drop this here for anyone interested in the original doze
That's just a thing with Samsung. Their battery life is the most inconsistent out of all flagship phones.
What you could do is install Naptime on your phone. That'll set the phone to Doze mode as soon as your turn the screen off
Turn off auto brightness. Stop closing background apps. Install these apps. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
