The size of this device presents serious UI problems.
Average thumb radius determines phone size. There are plenty of design blogs showing why specific choices were made with the iPhone.
Example:
http://pinterest.com/pin/16818198577996177/
Your design would be better only for people with much larger hands than normal.
I.e. not teen girls, not children, not women, and not most of Asia.
This rather drastically limits your sales potential.
Watching movies on a 5 inch screen is also in no way "stunning".
Form factor is THE most important consideration for these devices. There is a reason you don't hold an iPad to your head to make phone calls.
reddit is sadly not as gender-balanced (yet) as I'd like, but I hold up a big {Citation needed} sign whenever I see 'data' like that -- where did they get it?
That said, the conclusion still jibes with anecdotal evidence. But great subreddits like [/r/twoxchromosomes] give me hope that the platform is gender agnostic, but we've certainly got work to do.
Also! I've always thought pinterest was delicious done right. The behavior seems more like 'let me save this for later' (delicious) than 'let me share this with people now' (reddit) but maybe that's just how I use pinterest.
context: "Oh my heart........4 year-old Paige Bennethum really, really didn’t want her daddy to go to Iraq. So much that when Army Reservist Staff Sgt. Brett Bennethum lined up in formation at his deployment this July, she couldn’t let go. No one had the heart to pull her away."

http://pinterest.com/all/?category=mens_fashion actually has plenty to offer as far as menswear and it's got plenty in common content-wise with /r/malefashionadvice. It's a social link aggregator like any other. A decent amount of quality drowning in a sea of stupidity.
I made a Pinterest list for my girlfriend at the time (no longer dating). It's pretty much worthless but I keep updating it and this seems like a good place to share it!
>This is pretty much the Internet's reputation, any website where you can chat with others is a pit of pedophiles, murders, rapists, and racists.
Dunno, I feel comfortable at Pinterest, never met any pedophiles, murderers, rapists, and racists there.
I am a big fan of maps, and also a big fan of propaganda. So things like this fascinate me.
Feel free contribute more strangely-drawn historical maps below, if you like.
I am:
I think my wardrobe definitely reflects this in that it's pretty aggressively curated and neutral and comfortable.
Beyond that, I don't think it really makes any statement about ~ who I really am ~. I have a lot of witchy items simply because I like the aesthetic, but I'm not really into anything culturally witchy in a modern sense like tarot cards or gardening or tumblr art or cats or fantasy novels or dark and broody music. I don't think my career (software engineering) or hobbies (ballet, pinteresting intensely, hanging out at science museums/zoos/botanical gardens) are particularly reflected by my style. I'm not sure that the work put into developing it and its consistency is evident to anyone who doesn't track my waywt posts, but I think it goes with my general philosophy of "if it's worth doing, it's worth really doing".
Here is a sampling of fairly recent outfits which I think is pretty representative of my style and this is my primary pinterest style board.
>My friend's Dad
Bullshit. Just tell everyone you found this picture on the internet and thought it was a cool tattoo. It's all over pintrest and from almost a year ago.
I'm currently obsessed with Korean fashion, including glasses. Here is an example of what I like: http://pinterest.com/pin/193373377731268442/?source_app=android
The circle glasses are also popular, I think it's because our eyes are so small that small frames would just make them seem even smaller. My glasses were expensive so I won't be buying any new frames any time soon, but if I did need some I would get those.
It's like a virtual bulletin board. You can either post stuff to your boards or browse other people's boards. A lot of websites have a "Pin it" link next to articles/photos/recipes. You can use that or copy and paste the URL to "pin" a photo to a virtual board, usually with some common theme. You might have a recipe board or a Halloween board or a home furnishing board for stuff you like or want to try/get.
You can also browse categories and search for keywords to see what other people are pinning and "repin" things you like to your own boards. You can also follow cooks to get their recipes.
When you log in you will see the posts of people you follow on the pinterest home page.
Has no one really posted a link to this website yet? Am I going to have to actually type it into the address bar or google it myself? What is this?!
Edit: Ok, so no one has to go through the ordeal that I just did, here is pinterest.com.
Thanks! I have a good portion of my wardrobe on a pinterest board here if you'd like to see where stuff is from. I also have an inspiration board here.
The backpack is the everlane 'dipped zip backpack' (mini size). I generally have been very happy with it, but I wouldn't recommend it if you have any furry pets because it tends to attract lint.
Huhwhat? There are tooons of shopping blogs for women! The layout of those sites is super similar to Mighty Goods, one of my favourites (along with MightyHaus). I also like Pinterest if you just wanna "window shop" but don't actually have any money to blow.
Little known secret about living in DC... you can go trick or treating on Embassy Row.
Each embassy hands out treats from their country... and most embassies have two baskets, one for kids, one for adults. The kids basket is generally some nice little candy indigenous to the country... for example, the Japanese embassy used to hand out those crazy-flavored kit-kat bars. But any adult (or clearly 21+ individual) that goes up with a good costume who is seriously trick or treating can access the second basket - that's for adults. The French embassy would hand out wine samplers, most of the Caribbean nations would go with local rum, Ireland usually just had a fecking keg of Guinness and red party cups. But every few years... you would see the British embassy stocking Scotch samplers. I very clearly remember getting a mini JW Black in 1999.
Granted, I have not gone in nearly a decade, so maybe things have changed. But it was glorious every time I went.
lol, it's where I work. The hat was made by my gf. She's made me tons of hats, though I live in texas and they are all winter hats.
Edit: [Context on my g/fs Crochet hats])http://pinterest.com/cr0chetm0nster/my-crochet-projects/) and those are only a fraction of the animals and hats she's made, I'll post a couple more when I get home, including the full on pac-man hat she made, unless I can get her to post it.
My sister told me about pallet furniture. If you can use a hammer and nail, you can probably make this yourself.
First, go find pallets, we found them in the dumpster area behind a grocery store. Then, go to the hardware store and buy some desk chair wheels (4). Return home and look in the basement for extra paint. To assemble, stack one pallet on top of the other and nail in place, attach wheels to bottom, and paint. Two pallets makes a nice coffee table.
Stack 3 on top of each other, get a thick piece of foam and some fabric to make 1/2 of a loveseat. (Repeat for other half of couch...).
What kind of juice will you be having? Remember that most juices are high in sugar and are about as bad for you as pop.
Try different flavoured waters for a non-alcoholic option: get jugs of sparkling water, and add lemon slices, cucumber slices, mint, etc. There are tons of possibilities.
I also recommend having wine, because just water might be boring and as I said, juice is unhealthy.
As for snacks... what about fun things like Ants on a Log (celery with peanut butter and raisins), some kind of caprese salad (saw it done on a stick with bocconcini and tomatoes and basil).
Think outside the box, stack things or put them on sticks. That way even if it's healthy, it looks cool. Honestly Pinterest is a great place for that kind of thing because you have tons of housewives that are looking to be healthy.
Edit: I searched Pinterest for "Healthy Appetizer" and tons of delicious, cool and healthy looking things popped up. Not sure if you need to log in to see it but you can join with FB or twitter.
Hello!
I don't think you're being selfish at all!
Perhaps, instead of the tent or umbrellas, you can get a bunch of parasols?
They're very pretty, and efficiently provides shade for those who want it.
Here's an idea of storing them :
https://pinterest.com/pin/141511613278742423/?source_app=android
And what it would look like when people use it :
http://pinterest.com/pin/294985844339908150/?source_app=android
I didn't know they came in cool tins like that. I don't want to encourage your snuffing, but the tins are neat.
Anyway, I love Pinterest and here is a link to things you can do with Altoid tins, which might be a little bigger than what you have but it gives ideas at least.
If you hang out on/browse Pinterest's "Everything" section, you'll start to see it. Religious posters/quotes/photos, "checkmate, Atheists" type things, pictures of skinny women/skinny bodies (see: http://pinterest.com/pin/246712885806615406/ with caption "I wish"). There's also a lot of teacher focused things, which makes me think there may be a home-schooling population on there as well.
A sleek, black turtleneck to achieve a look like this.
Uniqlo heat tech long sleeved shirts and tights or leggings.
This really unusual beige-y mixed colour cardigan I saw at H&M but couldn't find in my size. :(
ALL THE COLLARED DRESSES. Or just one, really.
2x wool sweaters.
The perfect grey cable knit sweater.
A pair of cognac or black oxfords.
And the ability to create outfits with a fitted sweater layered over a collared shirt without looking bulky or frumpy.
Somethings that would be easy to integrate into your existing wardrobe is are tops with necklines that you don't often see in menswear. A boat-neck or a cowl neck for example, would probably read as more feminine than most men's tops.
If you're into the idea of a dress, then I would just go to a store and try on a few until you find your size. I think the more the skirt flares out, the more traditionally girly the dress is going to look. For a more androgynous look, a straighter or more drapey look to the dress will probably blur the mine more.
I'm not a lady, but my winter signature scent is Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather with a tiny bit of Tobacco Vanille layered on top. In the summer I go for Dior's Fahrenheit Absolute for the daytime and maybe switch to Floris' Santal in the evening. These are illustrated on my pinterest. Damn I feel good about this. Must be the whisky.
Best advise I can give is to invest in a crockpot. Amazon has lots of very reasonable ones (+free shipping with amazon prime student account). There are 100s of amazing, cheap & easy slow-cooker/crockpot recipes that you can make and eat on their own or put over pasta or rice. Pinterest boards is the hands down the best place to get lots of recipes for reheating crockpot recipes: Pinterest slow cooker
Somebody decided that Reddit wasn't girly enough, and Tumblr just was too artsy. So then this witcraft happened. And Apple decided to drop an app last year around August for the iPhone and word of mouth has caused a recent upswing in usage.
Seems like they are selective about who to hate.
Here's another picture off their site with the words "Fuck Off" on it with no negative comments whatsoever.
Perhaps "Fuck Yeah" is worse than "Fuck Off"?
Perhaps some of the old biddies were having a particularly bad day when the first picture appeared?
I dunno. Perhaps something.
Speaking of tattoos and amputation, I recently found this which I found funny. Until I read this thread, and now I am sad/worried, but it's still a little funny. Probably the OP should not look at this link.
It would be kinda cool if you went for a futuristic silhouette then added a galaxy print of other similar futuristic print with the outfit as an accessory.

Sugar-free Brach's cinnamon candies. They pack enough of a punch that one or two are enough (svg size is 3). I don't taste the artificial sweetener like I can with other sugar-free candies. Even my skeptical hates-artificial-sweeteners-husband likes them. They DO contain maltitol and sucralose though, which knock some people out of keto. (I can handle them fine.)
Reese's Sugar Free Miniature Peanut Butter Cups. High in calories, and you have to watch out for the sugar alcohols in these too, but good for an occasional treat.
Sugar-free jello. 10 calories.
Some people suggest whipping up a few tablespoons of heavy whipping cream with some flavorings like cocoa and maybe some splenda/erythritol/xyletol/sweeter of choice.
I have a bunch of keto-friendly desserts/treats recipes collected on Pinterest, but I haven't experimented with making many of them yet.
I'm going to supplement my suggestion of a compost bin with this Pinterest inpsiration board.
Yah, pretty similar to the post-it, here's the notepad and the connect-the-dots even though that's not exactly useful, it sure is fun
I'm definitely curious to see what others post
How fun! Here's mine: http://pinterest.com/kerobertson88/for-real-real/
After seeing yours I feel like I need to organize mine...it was so nice to be able to look at specific parts like flowers or groom stuff!
Yay, I like posts like these! Thanks, OP. This is my current inspiration board. I have several others but this is the one I update most frequently. I think my pinned style was more cohesive in my first inspiration board (very twee/prep/vintage leaning) but this one has a few more modern elements as well as a few menswear-inspired ones. There are also still lots of full skirts, dresses, overalls and darker colors though. I feel a bit frustrated about how to use the pieces I have now to help create my desired style but I try to remind myself that fashion bloggers had to work their way up there too.
For your board, it's not super cohesive but there are definitely a lot of plunging necklines/ample cleavage and drapey things. You seem to favor the contrast between tight and loose or very exposed and drapey. So if a top is drapey, it will be a crop top so there's still skin showing or if a skirt is looser, it will have a very high slit. I also notice a lot of lace and very close-fitting tops or bodycon silhouettes.
I don't think it's necessarily the legs; it's more the summation of the woman's entire lower body. Think of it in terms of Gestalt theory; I'm not specifically looking at your legs more so as I'm looking at your whole lower body.
So, we're talking ankles, knees, calves, hamstrings, quads and ass.
All of those things needs to be in proportion with the other half of the woman. So, if you've got muscular calves but not quads or hamstrings to back them up: it doesn't look quirky, it looks fucking goofy. Don't kid yourself.
Two ways of attacking this:
1) You can diet down even out your top and lower half. Steer clear of exercises that would enhance lower body hypertrophy. This is a common tactic and likely the easier route of the two. It takes less dedication and management.
2) You can exercise to even out the proportions. This would entail specifically targeting problem areas. So, if you've got larger quads, even out of the hamstrings. Larger calves? Even out quads and hammies.
There are ways of manipulating the perceived effect, though. So, say you are more top heavy. The way you work around this is by wearing clothes that accent the proportions of your legs (i.e. stay away from plaid patterns, stripes are okay if their vertical but not horizontal, "slimming" clothing, etc)
However, whichever route you decide to take, know that your biggest tool in making your legs look better is by what you wear. I can't keep track of how many times I've thought a girl had a smoking hot body based on her face and what she was wearing -- and then to find out I was dead wrong when the clothes come off.
Hey guys, we are aware of the issues with the game and the forums. The team is working on them as fast as possible. We don't have an ETA for a fix, but we're aiming for "A.S.A.P." In the meantime, we've added more beta screenshots from our players to our Pinterest board, so feel free to take a look while you wait. http://pinterest.com/arenanetteam/ (And you're welcome to give us links to more if you'd like.) ~RB2
I love layering knee-high socks with tights, especially patterned tights, or throwing on some scrunched down trouser socks over pretty tights. I've been saving a lot of shorts/tights combo looks too though I haven't been brave enough to bring that look into work. In Florida I wore shorts with my knee-high socks though since I was going to be inside with huge crowds and leaving the building between bands/acts where it would be cooler than indoors. So I wanted something light that was still "warm" when outside. There's a youtube video of me stage diving in my black knee-high socks & shorts to Kid Dynamite.
Also my sock inspiration board on pinterest
I live in the same city as sockdreams.com [amazing socks and tights] and sock-it-to-me socks, no tights though. I end up spending like $50 per month between sock dreams and Target on tights n' sock things! I also often pick up vintage tights at the local thrifts. I have an entire tights drawer D:
I've really found the material is what makes an article of clothing business casual versus casual. I think a nice dark wash jean can work for business casual as well. Dressing it up with jewelry can go a long way way towards elevating the outfit. Lastly, I usually go for dark colors for my outfits with a a lighter/brighter colored accent (creams, corals, aquas, and reds are my go to options). The dark colors help formalize and the accents help feminize without being distracting.
Places to shop for business casual for me include ... Express (their Editor Pants), H&M, Kohl's, Calvin Klein, Banana Republic, and WhiteHouse/BlackMarket (especially their sale section!).
Here's a couple examples I think that may work for you... Pants outfit
The dress mainly I think the yellow accents/shoes might be a bit much. :P
I think that dress is really cute and perfect for a beach wedding. The hem and shoes may get a bit sandy if the wedding on the beach beach, so as long as you're ok with that then I say go for it! And I love your necklace, very simple but visually interesting, and adds to the outdoor theme. If it were me, I'd take some kind of pashmina or cardigan, as it may get breezy and cool in the evening.
As far as hair, definitely keep it simple. You could do a side braid into a low bun (I'll see if I can find a picture of what I mean). Basically any sort of low-key up do would work, but something with a braid might help to keep things tamed while you're outside drinking and dancing the night away. Have fun!
This is awesome! Here is mine!! I think I end up pinning glamorous polished looks but in my every day I prefer to wear dark colors and I've been obsessed with my white Birkenstocks. I'm moving to a new location that is much hotter than where I'm at now but I just can't give up black and I'm slowly getting into wearing white.
Do you like skinny jeans? Do you have access to a sewing machine? Because I've seen tons of great tutorials on Pinterest like this: http://pinterest.com/pin/39265827976793412/ that show you how to take in your jeans! You could do this with one of your men's pairs that you like perhaps?
This along with that Patrick Petitjean post from earlier, I have come to the conclusion that I must perform a "bearded male models" search...
EDIT: Not disapointed - http://pinterest.com/source/beardedmalemodels.tumblr.com/
Read somewhere that Coleen Rooney is a Red. Think i saw it on LFC pinterest aswell. Edit: Here is the pinterest list of famous lcf fans not only is Coleen Rooney an LFC fan but Rio Ferdinand also grew up as a Liverpool fan. Did not know that..
I added the OP already - well her vegan recipes - but to be warned I pin these days infrequently and I have A LOT of boards created. I've been pinning for my new apartment life because I need new things since I've been house sharing for years.
Well, you can just have mine - I use the same name pretty much everywhere. http://pinterest.com/erisfnord/ was created to house pics that went with an RP I was doing, so you'll find pictures of victorian clothing as well as sea monsters, christina hendricks, and booze.
Aside from that I have no idea.
What about something like this cut-wise? http://pinterest.com/pin/163959242654126212/ The bangs would look awesome on you and it is just such a classic, pretty style. When I style mine this way, I use some Sea Salt Spray to add texture and volume since I have very fine hair and blow it dry with a big round brush.
My mom is very active on Pinterest. Her main board has over 15,000 followers. You can take a look at how she uses pinterest here: pinterest.com/monicalm/
We're currently doing a few things to encourage Pinterest activity from the blog. There's a "Follow me on Pinterest" button at the top of every post, and on the sidebar. There's also a "Pin this" widget on each post (and it's the first one, above Facebook). We also tried to make the homepage have a Pinterest-style design and people can pin posts directly from there.
Also, there are all kinds of things you can learn about how to make your content great for Pinterest. For example, thumbnails can be much taller than they are wide, so my mom has been making her main graphic taller for new posts. She's also making the title of the posts longer and more descriptive. It's probably not great for SEO, but most people don't change the default description when the pin something, so the longer description makes her links look much more interesting on Pinterest.
Here is a pic of a cut similar, except on a real person:
http://pinterest.com/pin/380413499770503629/?source_app=android
https://pinterest.com/pin/380413499770503627/?source_app=android
You can always adjust the actual length to your own liking.
I think you can still put it off! But instead of tucking into jeans/skinny pants, I think high waisted dress slacks would look AMAZING on you.
Something like this: http://pinterest.com/pin/247557310748366132
Also try looking up fashion vocabulary as /u/polymerase2016 said knowing terminology so you can narrow down what you like is a great asset.
I have noticed that when I wear thicker non-stretch (or low stretch) denim my jeans will sort of crease/bunch up around the hips/crotch area, sort of like this. Is that inevitable when opting for thick denim or am I wearing the wrong size? For my newest par of jeans the next size up seems too big. It doesn't happen with my stretchy jeans.
My trial run $3 faux leather thrifted black oxfords finally bit the dust. This was a style I wasn't sure on, but ended up loving the look for the office. The day I finally acknowledged that the peeling of the material on the side did not suit the polished work look I admire, and that they needed to go, I took a quick perusal on craigslist. And one of the first posts was a pair of Bloch Hannah oxfords ( http://pinterest.com/pin/A6XqOwAQAAEGQm2_CuIAAAA sorry for mobile link - they are no longer on the bloch website, nor revolve, where they were purchased) in my size. It was love at first sight, and for about 1/3 or less than retail ($50 CDN). The woman worked just a few blocks from where I do, they fit beautifully and they feel like luxe little ballet slippers (which as being from a ballet shoe manufacturer, I shouldn't be surprised). I am utterly in love. The leather is soo supple, and I love the very sleek, and somewhat androgynous feel they have.
Alas, the sole is leather so these are not outdoor shoes until I put a thin vibram sole on them. That will be part of my holiday time off.
As a warning if anyone is considering these, they are a touch narrow. I usually wear regular width shoes (except for W heels when I can find them in 5.5) and my foot is just slightly wider than the sole. Still very, very comfortable shoes however.
Thanks to FFA for clueing me in to this brand - I would have completely ignored the ad had I not known.
And as a final note, craigslist is BY FAR my best option for specific 2nd hand goods. Not as cheap as a thrift store, but you can search by brand and model, and in a big city it can be gold. As a Canadian, shipping and duties can be a beast, and eBay won't always ship here. Craigslist lets you see the goods in person, often try it on, before you decide to buy. I just rarely see people suggest it for 2nd hand goods.
I got these navy and bronze ankle strap heels on eBay a couple years ago. They have detailing on the back of the heel, similar to these. I've never actually worn them out of the house, but I like to think that there will come a day that I might need them.
Also, a pair of Litas that have never left the house because I am well over six feet in them.
Will edit to add a picture of them when I get home!
http://pinterest.com/ohhiitssteph/style-solidification/
I always wanted to participate in this! I have some inspo that isn't outfits exclusively, too, like the Miyazaki movies pin... there's something about those movies that I wish I could incoporate into my style, haha.
There are a lot of great vegan muffin recipes out there, like these. You can also easily adapt many non-vegan banana or pumpkin bread recipes by subbing nondairy milk, margarine, and egg replacements (or mashed banana) as needed.
Also, the main reason I have a Pinterest is so I can follow boards like these for vegan food ideas for all situations.
I find that Pinterest is good for patterns. Every few days, I search "cross stitch" and just look at and Pin the patterns I like. http://pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=cross+stitch
If you have something specific in mind, Google is also great.
I recently started creating my own patterns with KG-Stitch: http://www.iktsoft.net/kgchart-en/kgchart/download/ It's a free program that lets you draw patterns or import images into patterns. I haven't actually stitched a pattern from an image yet, but I have tried a few pictures and they look great.
Happy stitching!
We are having DIY favors. Homemade Limoncello for adults and vintage soda pop cap pins for everyone. We're also doing a candy buffet and kids activity table. We're going to DIY everything else, but we haven't narrowed our exact ideas down yet. This is what our Limoncello will look like once bottled: http://pinterest.com/pin/277464027012576629/
I saw this done before with the Starry Night print. Take your beads and use them to go over a print or a painting.
This is done with quilling http://pinterest.com/pin/44050902575393614/
But you could use your beads.
Without the decorations, the apartment is going to be beige beige beige. This is boring, but it's also a good thing; you've got a plain neutral palette to work off of.
The first thing you'll want is an awesome rug for the living area. I don't know your particular decorating style, but I would go with something bold and geometric like this or this. (Sorry, using pinterest links). Now you've got the beginnings of your own palette. If you're allowed to paint, pick your color to complement your rug. PROTIP: Martha Stewart paints have symbols in the corners that show you what coordinate. So if you find a paint chip that matches your rug and it has a star on it, any other chip with a star will go well with it. You can have your favorite brand of paint color-matched to this chip, or just use Martha's (I think it's Glidden?).
If painting isn't allowed, go for some curtains. Nothing screams "stock apartment" like awful miniblinds. The couch and chair you can't do much with, so rock out with some new throw pillows (or covers for the existing ones, if they come with the apartment). Don't be afraid to mix colors and prints. Get some comfortable throws for the chairs to add texture and more color.
I would wait to get art for the walls until the rest of the room is finished. Once you've decorated the rest of the room to your liking, look around online or IRL until you find some stuff that you find awesome. Most likely it'll match the room because you've figured out your style by now, and if it doesn't... eh, who cares. It's art, and you like it, and let the haters hang.
I've been thinking about this a lot since I saw two internet arguments about it recently and LaurenLou explained it really well.
You can see here that The Beauty Department uses the terms interchangeably and technically incorrect. See post.
In any other context, gradient and ombre pretty much mean the same thing but when talking about nails they're different techniques.
Talk to this Pinterest user if you want to find out more about this place. They have the oldest origin photo that I can find online and their Pinterest account says they uploaded the photo opposed to finding it online. Not saying they know where it is but this is where the trail ends for me.
It was this problem that led me to love pinterest. I never had long hair in my youth, so I had no idea what to do with long hair.
My new favorite is this braided style. Super easy, I do it too often.
I probably use pinterest for hair more than anything, love it.
Edit: This braid is also easy, kind of cheat French braid (which I cannot do at all.)
Burgundy Street, Madrid, Spain is what I came up with after I did a google search. You can do a kind of reverse pic search by dragging photos into the search bar of google pics, just for future reference.
I reckon making little plush toys would be a cute way to make them into gifts. :) I also found another Pintrest board. I was looking for something to do with mine for a while, but I hit on something that works for me quite specifically--I have a long-haired, long-eared dog and need something to hold his ears away from his food if he's eating something not-dry. I made this little dino-snood for him, and I want to make a bunch of different ones when I have time.
I got this shirt (also from TeeFury) which I love because it's subtle. Ish.
I've also got one of the mugs from the HBO store (but I dig House Tully, which they had ;) )
Personally, I got so tired of trying to find jewelry that looked like it was from the show (that had assorted sigil-animals) that I made a Pinterest board of it. I would just about kill for a replica of the Hand's brooch.
I did a google image search for "couple silhouettes" or something. We found one we liked, that looked simple enough, cut it out, traced around it, and painted the inside of the outline.
There are other really cool things you can do with the crayons, like this one someone did.
Not sure if you can see this link or not, but it isn't confirmed if it will work or not (but sounds like it would)...it says to mix 1 tbsp of hydrogen peroxide with 2 to 2.5 tablespoons of baking soda, mix into a paste and spread on nails. Doesn't say how long to soak for, but then wash off and you ALLEGEDLY have white nails. Again, this is not the most credible source, but it's all I could find this early LOL!
I actually think multiple small framed pieces can look really good if done right, like this: http://pinterest.com/pin/361133645/
But I agree, wall decals/stencils can look good (though they look pretty "young" most of the time, I think) and canvases are good too. They just need to have presence.
"I don't dig the bottom of this pinterest board" is what I usually take as a sign too. That happened with my general style board (the one that's now the low-key witch style board). It was originally a lot more... low-key but after a while I ended up separating the minimal stuff I was into (I think I started the board in 2015 or 2016) into a separate one.
I feel like this just mirrors general trends though. Like someone mentioned in the mediterranean summers inspo comments, I think recently there's been a lot more push towards the feminine midi dress reformation-esque style and maximalism instead of the androgynous 'scandanavian' minimalism look and I just internalized that.
I found a thing I need to make. I want to get a sewing machine again. I never got to use the last one, I think I've mentioned. But this is exactly the type of thing I need: http://pinterest.com/pin/206321226660127890/?source_app=android
So sorry it's a Pinterest link. The article has ways to wear it, too.
How sad to paint that beautiful table :-( Would she feel differently if you just restored it to it's original glory?
Alternatively, there is a trend with wooden tables at the moment where just the legs/base are painted (usually white) and the table top left as is. Check out Pinterest to see what I'm talking about. At least that would be slightly less sad.
As a 34yo woman, I can say that painting a table turquoise is something that would have sounded good about 8 years ago, but that I would now regret doing. Try talk her out of it.

this is my board for summer. It's less outfit inspo (which goes on my regular style board ) and more things I own or that I am thinking of buying this summer since I need a whole new set of clothes.
Favorite print...either stripes (as in black and white), or houndstooth, or abstract kind of paint splatter type prints. That is what is mostly represented pattern-wise in my closet.
This top is not exactly what I am thinking of, but it is the closest I could find that has the coveted neckline I'm searching for in a top. It's kind of like a sweetheart neckline, but not exactly?
Most frustrating thing this week was probably angry and demanding parents of patients at work (in the pediatric emergency room). Our hospital has been completely full for the last several weeks (it's that time of year, unfortunately) and even though we warn people that there is a significant wait for most things because of how busy it has been, some people just don't understand that their child with a mild cough who's giggling and running around our waiting room doesn't get rushed back like the actively seizing baby. end rant
Thanks! I do too. I'm a nurse and I work in cardiac care so I'm obsessed with anatomical hearts to begin with!! This is my reference pic:

I think the sign is the problem. The basket and favors rock, but the sign looks like it was printed at home and tacked on as an afterthought. Maybe add a frame? http://pinterest.com/pin/AzgXQgAQQPEAHRmX7DoAAAA/?s=3
I'm just getting started on Pinterest. If anyone else likes everyday or casual goth/punk type looks, I'd love some friends. Also any advice on how to get the most out of Pinterest. http://pinterest.com/acarventus/style-inspiration/
Yay! I have the perfect thing. Someone posted this a while ago and I had to save it: A great guide for anyone who is hesitant about pairing colors
Hope it helps :)
The only hat I've worn regularly recently is this one which I love (keeps my ears so toasty!) but I too want to get in on the floppy hat/cloche/beret action and look chic and cool doing so. However I can't wear structured headbands because my head is shaped funny. :( (So much for my dream of dressing like Blair Waldorf!) But anyway, I have to try on a bunch of hats and see if I can make any of them work for me.
As someone who is sort of into hip hop and vaguely fond of streetwear, I feel like the only way to really pull off snapbacks is to really commit to the whole streetwear look or you know, just be a rapper. But I barely wear hats so don't take my word for it.
>1. Please post all the happy things that are happening in your life right now so we have something to smile about.
I'm almost finished with a huge knitting project. I'm really excited about it.

A guy I've been friends with since ninth grade (which was decades ago) tried to make a move on me. I'm married, and so is he. And not to each other. I'm pretty sure I have to cut contact, and that makes me sad. And I can't decide whether to tell his wife.
>3. Please post any animal pictures or cute men pictures. (SPN related is always a bonus. If you post fan art please source!)
Here's a thing that made me laugh.
I suck at creativity too. I'm having three of these on each table:

It's just white sand, pearl beads, and a candle. I bought a bunch of cute mismatched glass votives from a couple of dollar stores.
So I feel like I'm finally starting to put together a wardrobe that works for me. Very grey scaled flattering shapes. I saw this outfit and have been longing to recreate it. I ordered a lovely maxi skirt today and all I need is the sweater. I'm really excited! I also purchased a black circle skirt so I can wear it with booties, tights and a tee in the fall.
I've been working out for 2 1/2 months. Not one drop in lbs. but I am noticing change. It's turning into muscle. I stopped stepping on the scale after week two.
Here is something that I really like looking at for motivation. It may take longer than 4 for you. Don't give up. You're doing great.
120ish Not all were created low carb but the substitutions are simple. If it calls for sugar use splenda, if it calls for pasta use dreamfields.
I also follow Living Low Carb which has a nice selection of frequently updated dishes.
I have a small pin board of tricks I give to students! Here it is
If you want to add to it send me your Pinterest account and I can add you as a submitter. :) <--- This goes for anyone who wants to!
edit:// Wow five new followers tonight on that board and none of you wanna pin some stuff??
We dressed them up as M&Ms when they were infants. We didn't want to spend a lot of money on costumes so it was easy.
edit: I just came across this picture of Harry and Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. I totally want to do this!
Growing up in the Cali desert, these things used to be everywhere. Now, they are quite rare and I never see them anymore. Anyone know wtf happened?
Edit: Found answer on pinterest. Caption: Horned lizard. Threatened. Virtually absent from its original habitat in California due to the decrease in the population of harvester ants, its chief food source.

I actually worked and taught at a babywearing store. There is some technique to it. And some people needed more help learning than others. But there are people who grow up doing it, and they know it well. I often see photos and examples of kids carrying other kids (Like in the Congo). Once you learn it, it's like any other skill. I was very awkward with baby carriers at first, but now I am very adept. And I can put them on my in sleep.
I prefer a shouldered wrap versus the kanaga or kitenge, which is the no shouldered wrap around style in your photo.
But there are lots of options Mei Tais (Baby Hawk, CatBird Baby, Kozy) soft structured carriers (Beco, Boba, ERGO, Pikkolo), wraps that are stretchy (Moby, SleepyWrap) and woven (Didy, Storchenweige, Girasol, Dolcino), ring slings (maya wrap, sakura blossom), pouches (Peanut Shell, Lucky Baby), podegai (Korean baby carrier) and surely some I have forgotten. So there is something for everyone.
my office manager makes me show her my funky nail designs every day and gets disappointed at the plain ones.
while I ♥ /r/RedditLaqueristas, pinterist may be a good way to gather a bucket list. I use mine to quickly find things i planned on doing when I'm having a uninspired day.
(let me know if you need an invite.)
I think I'll use this (excellent) post to pose a shoe question. I'm looking for some shoes to wear in the Florida summer that are not sneakers and can not be considered "preppy." Everyone around here wears boat shoes, but they are accompanied by the standard preppy southern frat boy/fisherman look, which I don't want a part of.
I've found a couple combination espadrille/oxfords that I've liked, like these and these but they are in the $150 range, which is too much for me for casual shoes. Does anyone know of anything similar? I just want shoes that will look ok with shorts that are not sneakers or preppy boat shoes. Help?
Website RULES...So many awesome DIY things on there. Currently making a wreath out of yarn and felt for my newlywed friends. :)
Edit: This is what I'm working on - But with brighter colors.
Check out this site they have some good inspiration, I did a search for pallet for you. Good luck. And word of advice from someone who used to have a pallet bed, sand those motherfucker's cause they hold on to dust like it's paying good money!
I'm absolutely addictive to Pinterest myself, you beat me to the punch with making this post, but that's okay!
Here's my crafting board: Crafty DIY and Tutorials
I would love to recreate this but I'd need help from an engineer or something. I have no idea how I could make this work. If you have any ideas, please let me know.
