As an indie game developer, this is very interesting because it may impact me. I had to research this further before forming an informed opinion on the matter.
So, this is targetting a guy named Ed Nash, who created a kickstarter project in 2012 to deliver a card game. His funding goal was $15,000 and he exceeded it. The last project update was in 2013. It's now well into 2015. What's going on? Was he spending his time hunkering down and working so hard to deliver on this project that he didn't have even a minute to post a status update on the progress of the project to his backers? Was he just an unfortunate victim of poor project management and scope inflation, as many game developers are? Should we have sympathy for his plight and support him against an overzealous attorney general?
No, he's taking PLAYING cards and printing custom artwork on the cards. The level of effort to reach and deliver on this milestone is astoundingly low. He just took the money and ran. He's too busy being the president of a music talent agency in Tennessee. He doesn't care that he ripped off his kick starter backers. Maybe he even forgot about them? Who knows if there was ever any effort to refund or recompensate his backers.
Anyways, I have no sympathy towards this guy.
This does set a legal precedent for risk of legal liability for project creators now. Beware, if you launch a kickstarter campaign, get funded, and can't deliver because you're an idiot, you may get sued (at least by Washington State). Don't go raising a $10k project to make GTA5. It's not purely "buyer beware" anymore.

I'm sorry, but why aren't you referring to Daphne as 'she' and 'her' here?
Why the neutral pronouns? She was VERY clear she identified as a woman, and her page uses all female pronouns: https://about.me/daphnedorman
This comic was made by Japan based artist Rasenth in 2014 in the wake of the incel perpetrated Isla Vista killings in the United States.
The complete set of panels (this collection is missing multiple panels) is available in this article: Huffington Post - This Comic Perfectly Captures How Feminism Helps Everyone
When interviewed Rasenth said:
>"I was angered by the Elliot Rodger incident and how he was aggravated by his hatred towards women... The comments he made about women, I thought, were very common complaints lodged against women that people say and think everyday and yet these feelings led up to murder. I just wanted people to notice how our unconscious double standards are hurting ourselves and each other."
On https://about.me/gary.martin it says he "Studied under The Legendary Funk Brothers".
I'm not trying to pile hate on the guy but I had to laugh at this part:
>Gary Martin is a dynamic and uplifting musician who brings authenticity, excitement, deep expression and emotion to his performances. Focusing on a personal connection with his audience, Gary engages and interacts, leaving them invigorated, motivated and inspired, creating a memorable experience they will always remember and share.
In this vice article they say
> In Dallas, the Huey P. Newton Gun Club's members are the most thoughtful and professional revolutionaries around. They have a platform, an ideology, work as barbers and electricians, and are serious about their politics and the importance of being armed. "What you see in the media relates to them on a national level, but their organization is a lot different here on a local level," Goodson tells me. Darren X says that his Party is trying to move away from the inflammatory rhetoric of its leadership and "transition from black power to all power to all the people."
I am not sure what extent the huey p newton gun club are associated with the NBPP as a whole but it seems like they are a bit different ideologically. Based on their website it looks like they are much more focused on teaching black people self defense and how to safely use and carry firearms than anything.
She has reported for RT, which is basically a mouthpiece of the Kremlin, but all her stuff was removed. On her website, she lists as her only translated works from the works of Dugin, who is a Russian quack who has already been sanctioned for America for a variety of reasons, least of all calling for the genocide of Ukrainians.
https://about.me/NinaByzantina
Read Dugin and you get the gist of Spencer. There is a reason he got banned from Poland, because if there is one thing Poland hates, it's links to Russia.
Not to mention to spreads the fucking "oppressed Russian population" propaganda Russia likes to spread in Eastern Europe to then justify invasion and not to mention Pan-Slavism, a concept that will never come to fruity because having Russia in any alliance with other countries is a recipe for disaster. https://twitter.com/NinaByzantina/status/980196929790357504

Well, the "IT Director" is a WordPress designer (Google Image Search), and their "Social Media Manager" doesn't seem to have much of a social media presence ... although, this isn't too bad.
I think TBHS is pretty reasonable about the ads for a regularly-produced fairly high-quality show... more like a public tv "sponsored by" relationship than anything. Obviously your opinion is no less valid, just my 2 cents on the matter.
I suspect what you saw as annoyance was really a front-of-camera awkwardness that's sometimes common with filmmakers. I’ve always loved The Tornado Girl (source) photo that Merrilee Thomas took of her daughter in Nebraska (April 1989).
She entered the image in a National Kodak Contest that same year and it won 2nd place:).
I am sorry for what you are going through, I hope I can offer something useful.
Addiction, is an unhealthy attachment combined with obsession. In most cases, the obsession is a direct result of Avoidance. We not only fear being without an escape, we fear facing ourselves in the silence, where the voice of our Ego makes us feel Shame. The honest trick to this, is heal the shame. How we heal the shame, is working the 12 Steps of recovery and getting to meetings. We need to talk about it, confess and surrender... understand that we are powerless but there is Something, that can guide us back to health.
I have written a recovery guide, it is free and you are welcome to download a copy at any time:
I'm at an agency, so we're doing this pretty often.
Like what others have said here, it's largely the same game as traditional SEO, except now you're working on 10 pages instead of 1.
A big play that I've seen do a lot is building out your companies' profiles other sites, such as CrunchBase, Behance, About.me, etc. Make sure to actually optimize these pages with your keyword and related terms (TF-IDF analysis works great).
Also make sure you have the obvious ones up, like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
From there, building links to these already high DA sites with optimized on-page copy will do a lot for you in a relatively short period of time (for SEO's standards).
Some interesting background: Bill Barhydt was an early employee of Netscape, the company that Marc Andreessen Co-founded (and Ben Horowitz was one of the first product mangers there). (https://about.me/billbar)
They built the first major browser. This arguably was the major turning points of bringing mass adoption to the internet.
The largest VC firm in the world is now Andreessen Horowitz, and 21's closest partner, and investor.
This seems like a tight nit group of smart dudes (Barhydt, Marc, Ben, Balaji, etc) who can pull through a revolution in finance, and help build up bitcoin's infrastructure, and... quite possibly change the world
A prominent 'beard guru' who has morphed into giving life advice, who calls himself the "Stable Stoic' and holds himself out as a sage. He is MAGA and conspiratorial and a radiantly polished turd with a nice deep voice and warm presence on camera, otherwise, making his whole presentation surreal and pathological once you look under the hood and realize he has a criminal history of assault and endangering the welfare of children in the past and a proclivity for threatening violence to anyone who dissents from him in comments online. He wants to become some kind of TV host on HGTV etc (according to his About.me page) but anyone who looks into his background will find what we did and run a million miles in the oppostite direction. He's not a good person.

As a team member I wish it were as easy as most of the community wants. Of course it would be ease investors minds when you put a face to a project. It wasn't all that long ago, a couple years really, that no one in the crypto space cared about who was working on the project.
Once more traditional type investors and people new to crypto, and starting seeing all these ICO's last summer during the huge run up . . the dynamic shifted dramatically, and maybe its a matter of the change in the nuance of the average crypto investor, rather than the project themselves.

Yeah, that person was rude. Carry on.
Listen, I read your impressive background here and then clicked through to your about.me page and was like whaaaat!? Why isn't that info here?! This is gold and exactly what you need to include in your resume.

This, this, this. Highlight this in your applications, your bio, your CV. You have impressive work experience. Don't make people dig for this info - brag about it like it's your job. Good luck out there. You'll be just fine!
yes... it can be bad or good. The problem is, you have a tendency to Obsess, which is a sign that your mind is trapped in the bargaining process. We can become aware of how trapped we are and it can be very disheartening at first. However, self awareness is the process of recovery. I have written a recovery guide that may give you perspective. Hell yea. However, that dude (Ambrož Bajec Lapajne) is still singing today - i actually checked and he was in a concert in January. So it's actually an example of an awake craniotomy working exactly as intended. Sorry, should have given the context, I apologize for scaring you, it's scary enough as it is.
I also found this interview of him talking about it some more, and also about how he prepared himself psychologically for it.
I'm wishing you good luck too, all of it, in the world.
Saw it in an interview once. Check out his bio.

Ahhhh, Just knew there'd be an interesting source for this unusual story. Well done OneClemFandango. Maybe .. But this website 'Exclusive News' has only just been set up, And it's only got 3 entries on the blog. Has it been set up for this specific purpose do you think?
Read the other entry about the author of the original story
To précis for those that can't be arsed to read these pages. Which seems to be written by a "journalist" who has bewilderingly poor written English skills, and states "as a journalist I follow due diligence before I report" ...
This new website identifies that the writer of the story about Councillor Tonia Ashikodi is a Mr Darryl Chamberlain. https://about.me/darryl.chamberlain. Who it's claimed owns a property development company. Although if you track down the postcode at tha address quoted in the article, it seems to be a family owned builder. And the company lists Chamberlains profession as "journalist".
In the article, referring to the Councillors father: "...Which if true can be deemed as defamation without official copy, and proper diligence, if Mr Ashikodi so desire to follow that path...." Hmmm. Defamation. Right. There are a lot obfuscating sentences in there.
So who do we believe? The plot certainly thickens…
I couldn't even finish the video over all these inaccuracies... He "heard" Vitalik is about to leave? And he holds Bitcoin because of its bright future? What kind of opposite world does he live in?
Bitcoin is in the worst mess it has been since forever and can't resolve a debate over a parameter change for over 2 years without a bloodshed and Vitalik has literally changed his location on his bio from "Zug, Switzerland" to "Cathay Pacific Airlines" just because of all the traveling he does on the daily to foster partnerships and attend conferences on Ethereum.
How do these people exist?

Services like jsfiddle is important because it lets the open source community quickly demo their frontend code.
He worked together with Alex Peller http://alexspeller.com/ to create Ember Twiddle! It uses github gists along with heroku to create a working ember-cli in the browser.
I think its quite useful to have a website to promote yourself and your skills alongside a linkedin Profile. I find its a good idea to use one photo and use it across all our professional accounts.

on somewhat of a second thought, i dont like how you have to pay to use about.me, but i also like how it doesnt have advertisements. if we find a clever way to monetize this proposed website without ads, then we have something
It sounds really good but PDFs are really useful to attach to emails - rather than sending a lead to another website. I have profiles filled out all over the place that I need to keep them up to date, I don't want another website to have to update. What you offer sounds a lot like about.me - to be about to 'print' a good looking PDF from the website would be very useful.

Simply registering an entrepreneur will not be enough? I think you need to find a similar business and ask for advice. Or follow the example of some famous entrepreneur in this field, such as Niranjan Shah https://about.me/niranjanshah who is CEO of Globetrotters Engineering Corporation

Anyways, I'm sorry that the description seems to be not that clear, I'll definitely change that. The portfolios created with techstax are also hosted on this domain (at least for now, maybe I'll add custom domains in a future update). Think about it as an about.me for developers.
For most people, because it's an .io domain, they will not pay for it.
If the domain was bioinfo.com instead of bioinfo.io then you would most likely get more for it.
What do you think a buyer would put in this domain? Something similar to about.me ?
Most people will think dot com and not dot eye oh

AO3 is an archive, not a hang-out or social media website. Share your e-mail if you really have nothing else (and be willing to edit or delete your comment once they've got it) - but I'm willing to bet they also have some other social media platform in common with you (Twitter, Tumblr, hell maybe even Reddit).
I'm glad AO3 doesn't waste their limited budget on messaging. I've got a whole list of places people can find and contact me on, but to be honest I've never needed more than one or two spaces at a time. Right now, it's basically Tumblr and Discord, though it used to be others in the past.
Makes sense, but let's go over the idea I mentioned - building a personal website builder, so a competitor to about.me Let's assume I built a killer product, it's the best personal website builder out there. How do I go about acquiring initial users for something like this? Or how can I even validate that this idea will work?
It is not, it's just my default "online name/persona", as it has been for around a decade and a half or so. I use it everywhere. :)
Quoting Middle School Me, my name's origin:
>What's In A Name
>Nyx is the ancient Greek goddess of the Night, known for having sway over Man and God, and even Zeus didn't like to upset her. She gave birth to many powerful spirits and deities, and is often referred to as a sister of Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades, the sons of Cronus and Rhea and the fathers and leaders of the gods. She is fond of mischief and mystery. Every night, she casts the darkness so the stars can come out the play, and every morning, she sends them back to sleep.
>'-elestia' comes from 'celestial', because I love the night sky and am an occasional space geek (I've even been to space camp). I dropped the ending l for a smoother sounding name. Along with which, "Celestia" is a computer program for space viewing, and what a lovely program it is...not to mention the fact I'm on a computer so much. I dropped the c for easier spelling.
>Nyx celestial - c - l = Nyxelestia
About.me is the first thing that I thought of due to the the .me. Also, the obvious ones - wordpress, wix & Squarespace. I like that you focus on ig influencers. What do you think are the unique needs of them? For example, I follow a lot of gym rats. Some of them have their own website which they write in their ig bio and they promote products or their brands. Shopify might also be a competitor, some have websites with Shopify with a short bio where they sell stuff like protein shakes and gear. It might be because they already have a bigger audience. However, I just checked my ig and noticed a few smaller ones who promoted some products on their ig post but they don't have their own website but use their youtube channel. So, do you reckon you can serve the ig influencers who are yet to make it big and have their own website? I'm just thinking out loud :) Who do you think are your heavy users and what problem you're solving? Connecting brands, celebrities, bloggers to fans sounds a bit irrelevant to me. Why do they another channel?
Cool. I live in Jersey now, so that works for me. I look forward to checking it out in 2020!
I'm sorry Ryan was a dick to your mom...that's most uncool. Can't abide by that nonsense.
Thanks for your answers and, all bullshit aside, if you need/want any assistance with this new con, I've done good amount of work in the industry, writing both for and about games. I've also done a ton of PR work...some in the industry and some in local government. Check me out here.
Hey there, I’m John. I’m a web developer living in California City, CA. I am a fan of design, web development, and fashion. I’m also interested in photography. You can hire me with a click on the button above.
It's funny...when I was driving home from work the other day I had the exact same thought as the OP. I've been watching AVGN/Cinemassacre from the very beginning (the first episode I recall seeing "live" was The Karate Kid), and there has been a massive tonal shift in the content since Screenwave took over.
At first, I didn't like any of what was going on...BUT...I gave them a chance and have to admit the Screenwave guys (especially Tony, Kieran, and Justin) have grown on me. They all seem to be hard working, talented dudes in their own rights.
The latest AVGN episode (Jurassic Park Trespasser) really got me pondering the state of the channel because, while it has some interesting ideas, it is just not good in my opinion...and the "massive tonal shift" I mention above is never more prevalent in this episode.
As someone already commented, it can be a very tricky thing when attempting to emulate someone else's voice and/or style. Unfortunately, this is where the Screenwave team falls utterly flat...in their attempt to mimic the "lightning in bottle" that James captured with AVGN. There a few decent, Screenwave-led episodes, but they are the exception rather than the rule, and really only serve to remind you of what used to be...which is fucking bittersweet at best.
So, what can be done to recapture that AVGN magic? I think the only answer is the one that's least likely to happen: James needs to write and produce the episodes once again. It's his voice, style, and passion that everyone loves, right? Failing that, we will continue to see the gradual decline in the quality of the AVGN episodes that's been painfully evident since Screenwave took over.
And just to be clear, while I am a huge fan, I'm not just whistling Dixie here. I've taught screenwriting and creative writing. I've also written both for (and about) video games and movies.

>Ahamadeen closed out proceedings by asking Buterin about his love of World of Warcraft. On Buterin's own webpage, he speaks about his love of the game, before Blizzard Entertainment—the game's developers—changed some of the settings of one of his characters. "I cried myself to sleep and on that day I realized what horrors centralized services can bring."
The website the article is referencing is satirical. It is not "Buterin's own webpage"..

That would be as simple as this :
step 1:
whereis notification-daemon (which will tell you where is binary is in the system reside)
step2:
notification-daemon &
Well, this how I run in on several distro ...take a peek .. I have OR'ed different binary because of their location in different distros.

Anyway, in open system you can achieve similar thing in many ways. This might not be your approach to the problem. :)
Im going on 10 years volunteering for a JPL program which focuses on public outreach in our areas. I spend a lot of time doing it and have had the opportunity to get to know some incredible people at those NASA centers.
Armageddon and this urban legend figured prominently in a STEM event I led at a local science museum s a few years back.
One of my buddies at JSC, an ISS flight controller, sat down with some others from JSC to watch Armageddon. Few had seen the movie before. They provided me a list of errors they’d found. Some were in NASA procedures that few audiences would notice, some were high school physics. A group of about 60 teenagers watched the movie and found their own lists which we compared to the “pros”. It was a great event and got them thinking about how to embrace critical thinking and still enjoy sci-fi

Thank you too much for conversation!

In the blockchain, we can too edit our CV it's not a problem, but you don't need steps to make it available from the web, I mean you did not need to upload it to network, it will be synchronized automatically with all nodes in the blockchain network.

Also, it can be a web site like about.me with search by username, it can take easy search not only by QRcode.

Also about business cards - you'll not need business cards in your pocket/wallet, you will need only mobile app on your phone, and you can use the same app to take or give your business card, just scan QRCode, all in one app and it easy to use.
I can highly recommend about me for personal pages. It gives a nice first impression to anyone who needs more information about your person and you're able to create a page within 10 mins. If it's done, it looks like this one https://about.me/robin-ziegert - it is German, but it doesn't matter, just for your eyes.

Yes, it's made a difference in my career. But I don't think there's a universal answer — it depends on the field or niche that you're targeting, what you're good at, and generally what your goals are.
And there are several types of personal website. I think anyone in white collar work would benefit from a basic one along the lines of what about.me offers: https://about.me/
The benefit of a basic "here's who I am and here's how to contact me" website is that it serves as a modern business card.
A custom URL is worth it, though, even if you decide to use Weebly or whatever. It looks a thousand times more professional and you reduce the risk of losing all your backlinks, etc. There should be a contact@ email address for the URL, at the very least. (FastMail has worked great for me.)
It doesn't have to be a pain to set up. Throw up an HTML page. You could copy the design and formatting from here, so you don't even have to think about making it pretty: https://github.com/KeenRivals/bestmotherfucking.website
Onchain games are a great experiment!
The reason for vitalik to build Ethereum was literally when a centralized game - world of warcraft - changed the magic spell of his character.. Ethereum was literally built for this!

I don't think you can use a custom domain with Notion yet? The urls that Notion generates right now are honestly pretty bad looking.
I love Notion but I use about.me for my contact page. And Gatsby (static site generator) for my portfolio.
the quickest way for me to help you is just set up a session with me. There is not charge and for many people, it is the only time they will need to see me. I will share any resources I can and get you some real direction in your recovery. It would be better if we speak a short time, hard to make suggestions that will fit all circumstances.
about.me is a good place for a personal portfolio. might help to know linux (don't start with arch) if you already don't. Skip Comptia a+ n+ etc since your university credentials will take its place. Learning scripting will help a lot with automating the boring stuff. That's all I can add, other than GOOD LUCK!
Are you interested in doing something about this, willing to invest professionally? If so, set an appointment with me the first is free.
What I see is that you have had an awakening, but there is nothing new, you are still in shock from the loss and there are many small attachments that need to be healed before you can move on. This is a critical time and I would really like to see you receive the guidance you need. The reason is, if you miss the lesson, and just go back to a different version of the same behavior this will happen again. I can show you how to break these pattern, but it will require a level of commitment from you.
The first session is free and even if it is the only time we meet, you will find something that you have been looking for, everyone does.

Yes, and if you are considering approaching this seriously, you are welcome to set an appointment, the first is free and may be the only one you need. I am available tonight.
Look at the justice.gov links I posted. The name Omar Dhanani is linked to various frauds. Now look at the Vancouver Sun article picture and co-relate the picture with the about.me webpage.

Lol it's from his own official about.me page linked on his twitter :) The word is out on whether he literally cried or whether he meant it colloquially, but games can make people emotional https://about.me/vitalik_buterin
I would not recommend go daddy. For the first year companies typically give a discount of $1 per year. It is typically $12 a year and $100 per year for hosting.
Alternatives to buying your domain now:
You should have both, a business website because you can talk about your style, inspiration, services you offer, where did you study all your professional background. This should be updated every time you have a new skill or curricular participation.
And on Instagram, you can showcase your latest work, connect with people and for sure get new clients. You can create campaigns and a community out of it, here is a tool and tips that may be useful as well: https://blog.placeit.net/create-beautiful-instagram-graphics-to-promote-your-business/
And if you have a lot of social networks already in use, make sure to open your https://about.me/ here you can create a signature for your email, share on personal social networks as a link so you can let future clients have al input on you.
Hope it's helpful!

We are aware that a much more public face would instill investor confidence. Believe me when I say that I wish we could overcome all these hurdles now and move on. XBY has never been a typical project, it's just not the XBY way ;)
But posts like this help myself and the team (because I bring back what is said here) so it's good to have people offering constructive criticism.

However, it would seem that it'd require some things, like solidarity.
To be honest, i feel the article misses stuff like the democratic and freedom (dys)functioning of Europa, and member states, and apparent lack of consequences.
As does it miss the dysfunction of democracy of the EU itself.
Edit: I dont think PR and journalism go well together. See it here but can't gauge if it means anything well.
