Bring a power bank for your phone and install a GameBoy emulator. I use this one. Get "The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap" and those 16 hours will be over in no time.
My Boy! gba emulator now supports syncing saves with google drive. Making it the best way to game on any android device since 90% of mobile games are just money vacuums.
(not sure if the free version allows syncing)

Then play Pokemon again. Download a GBA Emulator here and download the pokemon game you want searching for Pokemon 'name' ROM. Run the ROM file in the emulator & enjoy playing pokemon on your computer. Phone user? Get this app to run ROM files (there is also a paid/full version that can be downloaded for free if you search on the internet).

If you've got a low end device use the My Boy! emulator. If you've got a midrange or better device, go with Retroarch's mGBA core.
Good, that'll make it way easier. This emulater is very good. We aren't allowed to directly link ROMs here, but you can get a FE7 ROM at a site like CoolRoms. After that, just open the emulater and you should be good to go.
If you wish, you can also use My Boy! Free and play emulated Game Boy Advance games like Advance Wars.

I'm going to recommend actually playing advanced wars using My Boy! emulator.
The free one will be sufficient for your uses, but the paid version adds a lot and supports the developer.
I really enjoyed Tanks of Freedom, which is an MIT-Licensed FOSS game in the spirit of advanced wars. However, the game lacks good documentation, so it takes a bit of guesswork to get going.
He and I use MyBoy emulator: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbafree&hl=en
The rom can be found with just a simple google search.
Just searching up GBA emulators in the play store or whatever apple products use will probably get you some free ones.
Hey, You should definitely try My Boy!/My OldBoy!. Definitely the best GB emus around. Here's a link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbafree&hl=en And one for GBC: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbcfree&hl=en
The app that they're using is My Boy! btw. There's also a paid and game boy color version. You can simply download many ROMs and play them.
Just in case anybody thought playing old game boy games on Android is exclusive to this thing.
MyBoy. Then download a rom and away you go! Download a rom on your Android phone, and then find it on your device in the MyBoy app.
Download GBA Emulator here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbafree
Find GBA games:http://www.loveroms.com/roms/gameboy-advance
Just install emulator, download games, unzip them and locate them in app. Simple :)
Yeah, just grab an emulator and the translated rom.
RetroArch has a good GBA core, but if you don't want to deal with that there are plenty of stand-alone emulators as well, such as My Boy!.
It's not just cute, it's perfect. Perfect balancing, brilliant mission design, entertaining story, memorable music and sound effects. It's by far the best GBA game and because it's turn-based, you can easily control it with imprecise touch controls. Because it's a mobile title, mission length is short.
My Boy! Free runs the game flawlessly even on very old devices like my 600MHz LG from 2010.
Why not use an emulator? I use My Boy! for gameboy advance, it's really good and I've played through Minish Cap (by far my favourite gameboy game) quite a few times on my phone. It's been excellent being able to relive my childhood!
Technically speaking downloading a ROM is piracy - but as I legitimately purchased the game as a child I think that's perfectly fine. Even if you didn't own a copy yourself I'd still recommend downloading it. It's a little on the short side as Zelda games go, but it definitely packs the punch and charm of its bigger brothers.
Phone GBA emulators work really well. I use this one. It's annoying how you can't feel the buttons to react quickly, but this game has no time pressure.
Skullgirls - I think I've run out of things to say about this game. I, uh, like the part where I punch people?
Vampire Savior - Goddamn this game is just so good, I wanna try and learn it seriously now. Capcom where's Darkstalkers 4 already?
Crypt of the Necrodancer - I may have had one good run, but everything else is lots and lots and lots of dying. Forget PBs, I just need to work on consistency.
Super Mario Maker - Alternating between stealing as many WRs as I can and practicing segments of my new Kaizo now that the design is finalized. Not actually doing full clear attempts yet though.
Shin Bokura no Taiyou: Gyakushuu no Sabata - Okay so I found the best fucking thing! An Android emulator that lets you use the device's light sensor as an emulated Solar Sensor! Sensitivity's a little weird, takes a lot to get one bar but then not much more to shoot up to ten bars, but it's the closest I'll ever get to being able to play this properly so I'll take it.
remove all the gamers
It is compatible, at least with the bluetooth ones.
I have this mini controller, there are a lot of incompatible games, but it works well with emulators.
Just tested it with Mario Kart on the My Boy emulator, pretty straight forward, no need for configuration.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbafree
That's the link to the emulator.... Then you can go here http://www.freeroms.com/ to download the games...navigate to the Gameboy color/gameboy advanced section... Download whatever game you want into a folder you'll remember ( I recommend making a brans new folder on the phone titled gameboy games) ... Then you just load up the myboy emulator, hit load game and find the zip file in the folder you created, click the game and it should auto start...and there ya go
Works really well on a touchscreen, actually.

I played through all the AW games on my phone via emulators, first time I'd ever played them. It's an absolutely fantastic series and I'm eager to start playing them again.
This is the emulator I use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbafree
The rom I just Google "pokemon fire red rom". I have to re-download it everytime I get a new phone. Wich I recently did cuz I got a note 9.
My Boy! apk. Done. Or pay under $5 for no ads. DraStic (Nintendo DS) works pretty well, too. ePSXE, too, but gets a little warm. After install, you do not need WiFi or any of that other business on to use them either. You can even use a bluetooth controller.
Unless it is for practice, is there really any reason to remove the rest? These work perfectly (or near perfectly) for me. So I guess, get Gapps nano?
Oct-N-M2-20170825-dtmo, btw.
I don't know of one dedicated to that game like Pokemon might have, but there's some good GBA emulators that play ROMs. I've read good things about "My Boy!".
Como que no? Tenes un celu con Android? Te bajás el Myboy (emulador) y después el rom del pokémon.
Ok I'll give you two good ones for Android My boy! And for Ios Eclipse emulator is really good.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbafree
For eclipse to be on your home screen you press the share button scroll and there should be a add to home screen button I've done this many times for friends

If I recall correctly, it forces you to watch an ad when you load a save state. So if you dont use save states, u dont have to watch ads. Other than that, it has a fast forward and a nice button layout.
For DS games, I spent a few bucks for https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic
i'm a little late on this one, but i just wanted to share my two cents.
honestly, i see where you are coming from. the retroid pocket 2 is not in any way user friendly. it takes a lot of doing just to get even some of the most basic functionality out of it. i will run into 3 new problems for ever 2 i fix.
with that said though, once you do get it working, this is by far my favorite emulation station. and this is coming from someone with plenty of ways of enjoying emulated content. i have 3 hacked 3dses, a hacked switch, a hacked wii, a phone with loads of emulators, and a bad ass pc for emulating all the way up to xbox 360 and ps3. it is a major hobby of mine to tinker with all my tech to get it to do what i want.
since you are trying to play gba games, have you tried maybe changing the emulator you are using?
i love retroarch, but sometimes i just cant get it to work right. thankfully though, the retroid is using androind so there are a load of options. for gba content i have started using 'my boy!' and it works spectacularly. there is a free and premium version too. the free version has basically all the features you would want and the premium version has a few extras thrown on top.
anyways, don't give up on the RP2 just yet. it does take some work, but it is definitely worth it. once you get it set up, then that is it. you can just sit back and enjoy it. either way, good luck!
I have used this one for years. You could also pirate the pro version wich includes acces to hacks and other stuff.
I use an emulator called My boy(free), the free version doesn't have quicksave and can only run up to 2x speed, but both of it are ads free. Or if you are looking for Gameboy color My oldboy(free) is the best one I've found so far
As for the roms itself just look for it on Google, you can find it easily
If you don't own a GBA, you should be able to emulate those easily on Android!
I played through both of them with My Boy! Free, despite having them on my 3DS, as I felt that they were perfect to play on-the-go.
I use MyBoy for Gameboy Advance on my phone. Works good. They've got a version for classic gameboy and color, too. There's also an SNES emulator but I don't remember what it's called. Probably something stupid simple like SNES Emulator. IDK, google it.
A bunch of the paid SNK arcade ports have that.

My Boy GBA Emulator has multiplayer over Bluetooth and wifi/hotspot.

Given the choice between bluetooth or wifi I would choose wifi, unless for some reason you can't use wifi like on a plane.

Here is My Boy Free is you want to check it out. Even the free version is great, and the full version is $5 and I'd say definitely worth it
My younger brother like the PSP version, if that helps any. You can always automatically refund Play Store purchases within two hours of purchase by just uninstalling them.
FFTA and the sequel FFTA2 are another option, if you'd like to use a GameBoy Advanced Emulator like My Boy. It's available as a free version with ads or paid with no ads.
Super Mario Maker - Conquering moderately hard levels, still procrastinating on trying to upload my own uber-monstrosity. I think I'm just gonna wait for the next update in the hopes that it might fix P-Switches. And if that doesn't happen, well, I guess I'll just have to upload it as-is.
Shin Bokura no Taiyou: Gyakushuu no Sabata - I found the best thing ever, an Android emulator that can use the device's light sensor as an emulated Solar Sensor, letting me finally enjoy the translation patch the way it was meant to be played. Perfect for my morning commute as long as I can get a window seat. It's almost a shame this is my last week of class before graduation... almost.
Yeah! It's really easy to get :) All you need is a Gameboy emulator (Google play store)
and a rom, you can get one from emuparadise or any similar site (the most popular are firered and emerald)
Enjoy :)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbafree
When I type "myboy" into Google play this is the suggested link, and it's to the free version of myboy which I think just has ads.
You could probably use this emulator and find some sort of app to transfer roms onto your Android... Then customize the ROM with the UPR. There's probably instructions somewhere on Google LOL.
MyBoy mit Advance Wars
is availability on Google Play a must? Because POWDER is absolutely the best roguelike I've found on Android, but is only available on the creator's site, not on Google Play (edit: for future readers, here's a direct link to the APK). If it strikes your interest but your device can't side-load APKs, you could download the gameboy advance version of it (also on the main site) and get an emulator from Google Play (note: downloading commercial game ROMs is illegal, but POWDER is a legal public-domain homebrew and therefore running it in an emulator does not break any laws -- unlike, say, downloading a Pokemon game).
Other than POWDER, I know Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is available on Google Play (as either an offline ASCII version or an online-only graphical version), but both versions suffer from somewhat poor controls; the game is really designed for a physical keyboard...
I've also been told that Pathos: Nethack Codex is fairly good if you're a fan of regular NetHack, and HyperRogue or Ananias may scratch the itch if you don't mind a less-traditional approach to room/dungeon design (I've played Ananias some, and I like it).

Also check out /r/emulationandroid
I present to you a new way to kill your phone https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbafree
I use MyBoy. Payed for the full version, and I don't regret it. Very good emulator.
Download a gameboy emulator or a PSP emulator and some roms for a new portable gaming system, you could even consider getting a bluetooth game controller and make it dedicated to gaming.
GBA: My Boy! Free - GBA Emulator
GBC: My OldBoy! Free - GBC Emulator
NDS: DraStic DS Emulator
SNES: Snes9x EX+
I've got a few things to suggest.
Get an emulator on your smartphone, play old games. I use My Boy! to play Advance Wars on my phone sometimes, for instance.
This is what I do most of the time: teach myself Japanese using Memrise. You can download individual language courses in advance so you don't need an internet connection all the time (there's dozens of other languages available with the free app).
I sometimes read books on my phone too, using Aldiko. Saves me the cash on a Kindle. And yes, you can torrent books and load them to your phone for reading.
Note: smartphone apps will murder your battery. Many European nations' trains have charger sockets near every seat or every set of seats, though, so you can charge while riding, but don't forget to have a phone charger on you at all times.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbafree&hl=en
/r/EmulationOnAndroid/
You just need to download one of these https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbafree
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.johnemulators.johngbalite
These are the free versions but there's paid ones too to remove ads and add extra features.
Then download this http://www.mediafire.com/download/t9iaee97y4yk3g2/Dragon+Ball+Z-Team+Training.gba
Just want to add on if you're planning on emulating, the best two emulators are probably My Boy! or GBA.emu. I'm trying to find a way to test the accuracy of GBA emulators but not having much luck in finding tests, I have tested others consoles as below:
Edit: Also /r/finalfantasy has in their sidebar a link to a great doc, Question about which version of a game to play? See this handy list!. Helps differentiate the versions quite well.
You need two things: an emulator and a ROM.
An emulator is what allows you to play the game itself. If you want to play on PC--which I would recommend--use this emulator. Or if you're okay with meh controls, and you're on Android, you can use this emulator for your phone.
A ROM is the game. There are two good choices here--FE7 Blazing Blade, and FE8 Sacred Stones.
FE7 has superior map design and story (imo), but it can be punishing. There is no grinding, and it has mandatory permadeath after the first 10 tutorial chapters (which every game but FEH atleast has an option for). If you fall behind, it can make the game a lot tougher. Pick this if you're confident with your FE skills. It's still an easy game, but no grinding can be scary. If you want to start with FE7, download it here.
FE8 has worse map design and story (again, imo), but it allows you to grind after chapter 9 which allows you catch up underleveled units, or make units into powerhouses if your army is running low on units. Permadeath is present from the very beginning, so make sure to restart if you lose a unit (or, atleast an important unit). Pick this if you'd like the option to grind as a fallback, and are okay with maps being a bit of a slog. If you want to start with FE8, download it here.
Running the ROM within the emulator is pretty simple. On PC, hit "file" in the top right and navigate to your downloads folder and select the ROM you downloaded, and then you're good to go. On mobile, it'll ask you to choose the ROM as soon as you start the app, so it's even easier.
Any of the various Pixel Dungeon spins is good, but I especially recommend Shattered Pixel Dungeon.
POWDER is also available for Android, but isn't on the Play store (for some reason it's not in the official site's "Download" section either, but can be found by scrolling down to the news post entitled "Ten Years of Development!". Here's a direct link to the apk if you don't want to bother searching for it)...
I personally prefer POWDER over Shattered Pixel Dungeon, but the controls are a bit strange since the movement buttons are in a vertical line (it sort of controls like the 'hjkl' sceme of many classic roguelikes, but on its side). There's also no diagonal movement. Shattered Pixel Dungeon has a more mobile-friendly control design, in which you simply tap the place you want to move to (and includes diagonals), but it feels much more luck-based (especially because food is very difficult to come by) and it has an irritatingly small inventory...
Edit: If you'd like to play POWDER but are turned off by the control scheme, you could install a GameBoy Advance emulator and get the rom from the main site's download section. It's a legally free homebrew rom, and emulators themselves are perfectly legal as long as you're not playing pirated games (Sony lost their lawsuit against Bleem!, for example), so no need to worry about that... :)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbafree
I'm assuming you have a, uh cough cough legitimate rom of the game somewhere?
As mentioned, My Boy! is a good free GBA emulator.
The best DS emulator DraStic. It plays both DS FE games perfectly. The only caveat is that it's not free. Currently $5.99; I believe I bought it on sale, so if you're willing to wait...
SNES emulator I'm using is Snes9x EX+. Free, runs great.
NES emulator is Nostalgia.NES. Also free, works fine.
Edit: I was beaten, console for console! D:

Statt dem Zeug lieber RetroArch. Ist kostenlos und besser.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fastemulator.gbafree it has ads, but it works well for me.
Hi. I have a Samsung too and after trying a few options, my personal favourite is MyBoy.
MyBoy is a GameBoy Advance emulator. Free version / Paid version
MyOldBoy is a GameBoy Color emulator. Free version / Paid version
Unfortunately, it doesn't emulate everything in one, so depending on what game you want to play, you'll need both.
If you're only playing Pokémon Red and other older GameBoy and GameBoy Color games, then MyOldBoy is best for you.
^(cough cough If you look around, you can find a pirated version of the paid-for version, but you didn't hear it from me cough cough)
Have at it :) The games you can find randomly scattered on the internet.

false, MyBoy Emulator
here you go, gotta find the roms yourself though
