I'm using the newly updated Action Launcher
It's a feature that I should have prefaced. My bad!
Edit: here's my...
Sync version: 14.2
Sync flavor: pro
Model: Huawei Nexus 6P
I'm running Android 7.1.2 Beta
You can use an alternate launcher which has integrated the 'feature' such as Action Launcher or Nova Launcher .
For what it's worth, Action Launcher 3 has a similar feature, the key difference being that the letter shortcuts are listed on the right side of a vertical app drawer, as seen here. You can tap on them to go straight to that letter, as you mentioned, and the launcher can be customized to a good degree. It's been my go to for years.
I've been using Action Launcher for a few years now and love it. I'd recommend checking it out and see if it's to your taste.
This is a feature of Nougat in an attempt to have consistency across icons. Your only real option is a custom launcher. Some, like Action Launcher, allow you to just disable round icons. Others, you may need to use an icon pack.
I just got my s7 regular on Friday. Samsung has finally made a bomb ass phone.
I definitely recommend
Action launcher 3
Nova is awesome but there are just things that action launcher does better. Its the first thing I put on any device.
And good look on the galaxy apps store. So close to a nexus look on a Samsung phone! Who would have thought that Samsung would be the one to bring it to us.
This is one of the big reasons I will be sticking with an Android phone for the forseeable future. Between being able to run interfaces that are everything from a tweaked version of the stock Android Pie launcher to one that is lifted straight out of the 24th century, you can make your phone almost whatever you want.
I use Action Launcher 3 (or I guess it's called "Action Launcher: Pixel Edition" now). I haven't used the Pixel Launcher before but as I understand it AL3 is a lot like the Pixel Launcher, but a bit more customizable.
Acton Launcher 3, If you are like me and like a minimalist look and feel but wiith tons of function, AL3 doesn’t fall short. You can have widgets hidden but when you swipe up on an app it shows the widget. While this is a pro feature the base version has tons of functionality.
You can get a very similar effect using the Quickdrawer in Action Launcher.
I love these sidebar app drawers.
Action Launcher also has the same pop-up widget feature if you're looking to try something different yet keep the pop-up widgets.
I installed Action 3 launcher & Zen is now gone... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore&hl=en_GB / http://www.androidcentral.com/why-action-launcher-only-launcher-i-use
It won't make your phone much faster (if at all), but custom launchers definitely go far beyond just looks (though that is a big part). If you have Nova Prime (which is definitely recommended, it's one of the few paid apps I use on a regular basis), you can customize gestures that allow you to perform certain actions on the phone or open apps, and they can be really useful. For instance, I have a gesture to swipe down on the home screen to expand my notifications, which is useful when I'm handling my ~~6'~~ 6" monstrosity with one hand. I've also mapped a home button press to open the camera, so that I can single tap if I'm on the home screen or double tap elsewhere and jump straight into the camera.
You can also organize your app drawer with tabs, and hide apps that you don't need or don't want to see. Ultimately, it's most about changing the phone to behave the way you want it to. There are a huge number of custom launchers out there, but the two most highly regarded (at least among enthusiasts) are Action Launcher 3 and Nova Launcher. Both have super responsive developers that add new features really often (although admittedly Action Launcher does tend to get them first). I personally use Nova full time, but it's really down to personal preference. You should give both a try!
I'm using Action Launcher 3 which has a feature called "Shutters". Essentially, if I swipe up or down on those icons, it makes the widget that corresponds to that app appear :-)
Yes, holding the home button brings up the Google Now Holo Menu..
It seems to be default.. I am using Action Launcher 3 and the capacitive home button brings up google now when held.
Action launcher 3 has a sidebar that puts all your apps in alphabetical order.
It's still there.
At a major release he renames and lists under a new name.
This was just updated 2 weeks ago, it's not abandoned. Though your old 2015 version likely is.
I use action launcher and themeX to change my icons manually. I find it looks way better than any of LGs themes.
App Shortcuts with Action Launcher.
Action launcher 3
Are popular options. You can switch launcher by going to Settings > Apps > gear in upper right corner > click home app, choose which installed launcher you want.
Both of these have a ton of options, long hold on the home screen to get to your launcher settings.
I use Action Launcher 3, because I still think it's the best launcher out there. It has the customization aspects you'd find with something like Nova, but it also has some great value-add features you don't see other places (Quickdrawer, Quickslide, etc.)
Maybe I'm just jaded because I've been using custom Launchers since the Launcher Pro > ADW > Nova > Apex > Aviate (RIP) > Nova days... before settling on Action Launcher 3. But the Nova Launchers of the world out there are just better versions of the same AOSP launcher. AL3 has all that + some unique stuff, without all the crap that you see littering some of the other offerings in the store.
To change your V10's look up a bit to make it cleaner and more functional, download Action Launcher 3.
I'm not trying to advertise the app because I have some vested interest in it, however I've seen how LG's software skin looks and I think there is better looking stuff on the Play Store.
Some highlights of Action Launcher include the fact that you can open up an app's widget just by swiping up on the app's icon on your home screen, you can quickly search and open apps using your keyboard and much better visual design.
It's paid, but I'd say it's worth it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore
I like to keep things minimalist. The icons at the bottom can also be swiped open to show communication, social, media, internet and photo apps retrospectively left to right. The wallpaper also cycles through a collection of my favourite photos every half hour using the Wallpaper Changer app. It's a nice system I've had for about a year now which I've grown very used to :)
If you've somehow never heard of Action Launcher 3 I can thoroughly recommend it, the cover folders feature is very neat indeed.
OP is using Action Launcher which has some nice color customization features that match your wallpaper automatically.
Oh that comes with Action Launcher 3 (you have to upgrade to Plus for $4.99)
Basically the Google Search Bar color changes based on the wallpaper color. And my wallpaper is Muzei, so every few hours the color scheme changes. Very neat!
I'm 99% sure that Action Launcher supports this, since I've used both the back button swipe and the apps switching swipe on my phone.
Action launcher offers a side bar that you can put widgets in. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore
And depending on what launcher you use it can import the layout directly to save you from setting up your layout again.
Yes, it's version 1.3.0.beta.1 from Google Play. And as you can see from the AutoInput icon, I haven't themed my app drawer icons.
I extracted the APK (via Yalp Store's "Get local apk" option), and copied it. The images in the mipmap directories match the coloring I'm seeing. Surely you're not asserting that you see orange in your file manager?
I installed AutoBarcode beta in BlueStacks (emulating OnePlus 3T with Android 7.1.1) and Nova Launcher in it with adaptive enabled does show an orange background for it (so clearly there's some color inversion going on for the color but not for the white stripes), but Lightning Launcher in it doesn't. I also tried Action Launcher and it, too, is showing the non-orange background in BlueStacks (but
does appear to be showing adaptive icons, as the backgrounds for Tasker and Play Store are white discs).
I installed Nova Launcher on my 6.0.1 Note 4. After I spent the few minutes waiting for the app drawer icons to become available (ugh, it should've at least showed an hourglass or progress indication, it boggles my mind as to how people think so highly of it), it showed the same non-orange background until I enabled adaptive icons, then it showed the orange background.
Edit: On second thought, scratch what I said about Action Launcher showing adaptive icons; I had the "Round" Icon style enabled. Adaptive icons is set to "Default", and I'm unwilling to spend $4.99 to change it.
I'm using Action Launcher with Neon Glow Rings icon pack. The wallpaper I made myself.
Hey buddy, I'm using action launcher pro with voxel icon pack
I really love Action Launcher and used it for over an year now.
Speedy and smooth, the devs updates it quite fast and adds all the nice new Android/Pixel features so I'd say it's worth the buy, but you can try it for free, of course.
And if you want something simple and quick, go with Evie. It's quite a fantastic launcher!
Action launcher !
That is the one I use.
The "quickpage" (separate widget page) height is fixed though so you can't scroll it.
The launcher supports all the common gestures. It does also have a feature where you can setup an action on an icon (shutter) to swipe up and displays a popup widget or you can set folder as covers to open a specific app on tap and reveals folder content on swipe up,
Anyway, Nova has issues with icon packs and is probably one of the worst Launchers to handle changing icons individually. Most icon packs work on it, but too often you get the odd ones (Polycon is one of those) that won't work. Currently I bought Action Launcher mostly for its superior icon-selecting implementation.
PS: You can apply the icon pack system wide or backup iconpack app as APK → change APK to ZIP → extract APK to get the icons as PNGs in your gallery. But that's too bothersome unless it is a really good icon & you can't depart from Nova.
For the Pixel look you'll need Action Launcher 3 with Pixel Icon Pack.
If you like tweaking your home screens, check out some launchers on the play store. My favorite right now is Action Launcher 3 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore
Nova launcher is another very popular one.
As I mentioned, I am not seeing this changelog in the play store. Please see the Action Launcher 3's playstore page. He probably removed that line from his changelog later, because technically it might be wrong?
Probably not the solution that you're looking for, but you may want to consider a third-party launcher until the Pixel launcher has gotten a couple more updates to iron out bugs. These two are quite popular:
Action Launcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore
If you're still getting crashes and reboots, then you can at least eliminate the launcher as the source of the problem.
yup, exactly :)
I also have it on a quick setting tile (via AutoNotification), but most of the time I actually just use it by triple tapping home button (on Action Launcher), paying via Android Pay and triple tapping it again.
You can just make a profile where exiting the app triggers this task, too, if you want :)
Here's the wallpaper, and I use Action Launcher 3 as the launcher. It's got some neat features, like changing the search bar, folder colors, etc.
All the time or just on the home screen?
Action Launcher 3 has an option to hide the status bar on the home screen. You swipe down on a blank part of the home screen to get it back temporarily. The bar is not hidden when inside an app though.
As many are saying here, there is an LG theme store, but it's pretty shit.
My workaround? Different launcher. Personally, I've been using Action Launcher 3 (unlocked), and I really like a lot of the features it offers. Here's a shot of my homescreen, as a taste. That, along with Swyftkey or Google Keyboard (depending on how I'm feeling at the time), and my G4 doesn't look anything like stock. And I was able to do all this without a root (still a little nervous about doing that; one of these days)!
FYI, this is on an H811 T-Mobile variant, in the US. Not sure if that makes a difference (I really doubt it will), but it's good info to have.
I use Action Launcher 3, I also really like Nova Launcher.
I so want to give nova a try but I'm addicted to the vertical app drawer of action launcher (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore) I don't want to swipe pages and pages of installed apps when I know which one I wanna use and can just press the letter of alphabet it starts with to get (near) to it. If that gets implemented into nova I'm sold.
It's not my favourite one, but Action Launcher is a refreshing, unique launcher that isn't as overboard as some of the 3d ones, but adds smart features to the stock one.
It's a feature of action launcher 3. I usually prefer Nova, but if I want pretty colours, I go for action launcher. Here's a link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore&hl=en_GB
I'm using Action Launcher 3 with the Polycon icon pack.
I prefer it over any other lauchers, but it takes some time getting used to.
Try out the free version! The unlock for PRO is an iap.
Try Action Launcher 3 as a home replacement, it's great. Give it a couple days and get used to it. The "shutters" feature is really great and you can use custom icon packs. Just ditch the Samsung overlay and all is well.
You also could always download the Google Now Launcher, it'll feel just like home.
Launcher: Action Launcher 3
Icon Pack: Glyphs By Token
Before I go into my apps, I want to first mention how I am currently messing around with widgets. There are a ton that basically everyone has but I've never seen mentioned so I'll say what I'm using and if anyone has any recommendations please add em!
Google maps - you can create a widget to go to a destination, I pair this with
Google Phone - "dial contact" widget and have pinned all my stores and store managers into a folder so I can easily call/navigate to one at the click of a button.
Real calc - have a calculator as a widget ready to go. I'm not sure if I like this better than the tile calc, still testing.
Stuff Todo - a widget to-list. Easy and keeps me organized.
Calendar - monthly view. Easily check my schedule and availability for planning meetings and other things.
ScreenOff (Root Required) – http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-screenoff-soft-screen-offrespects-t2993259 - If you use smart lock you might have noticed that most screen off apps will actually lock the device, bypassing smart lock. ScreenOff shuts the screen off without force locking the phone. It comes with an app, a google now shortcut, intent support and a shortcut for your launcher. (Note: due to what this app does it is a bit difficult to grant it root access the first time, if you open the app the root access dialog will be accessible but it won't show so you just have to tap where accept should be)
Identiconizer! - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2718943 – Allows you to easily create picture for contacts that don't have them.
Action Launcher 3 – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore - The new update for this adds some very nice features including customizable gesture/shortcuts, Google search overlay and a live wallpaper API.
Authy – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.authy.authy – Beautiful and useful 2-factor authentication app, looks and works better than Google's offering.
Headset Menu – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ginzburgconsulting.headsetmenu – Adds a notification with shortcuts when you plug in a headset for easy access to your media apps. Works especially well with Lollipop lockscreen notifications.
imago – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rightmeow.imgy – Great looking imgur app that works far better than the junk official app.
Recently (Root Required) – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.recently – Great new app from chainfire. It allows you to control and limit what apps show in your recents. My favorite feature is hiding the settings menu and Google voice searches.
Simple Weather – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tanmay.simpleweather – Great looking material designed weather app.
Launcher: Action Launcher.
I know everyone will say Nova is better, but I prefer Action Launcher just now. One reason is the indicator on an icon when there are available shortcuts to use as I can never remember which apps have them.
Internet Browser: Samsung Internet Browser.
Samsung have added a few useful features to their browser including ad blocking via extensions, night mode and a pop out video player. The scrolling also seems smoother than Chrome.
Clock/Calendar etc Widget: Chronus.
I've been using Chronus for years. It provides many customisable widgets for everything I use.
Very customisable SMS app with useful features such as blocking SMS, auto respond etc.
I've been using SwiftKey since it first released as a paid app. It's built up such a large personalised dictionary for me, that it feels like I'm hampered when using any other keyboard.
<strong>Action Launcher 3 - Free, but costs £4 to unlock all features (well worth it in my opinion)</strong>
Launcher app - adds some pretty neat features to the homescreen. You can slide from the left to open a (in my opinion) better app drawer, and if you slide from the right, there's a mini homescreen which you can put widgets or icons on. Instead of folders for apps, you can have covers, which by tapping on once opens one app, but by sliding up it opens a folder. You can also show widgets for an app by sliding up on the icon.
<strong>Unclouded - Free with in-app purchases</strong>
A cloud manager - allows you to access Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and so on from one app. Even if you only use Google Drive, I'd recommend using this, as the app is so much faster, responsive and intuitive.
<strong>Ambio - Free, but you can buy sound packs</strong>
This app allows you to create sets of ambient sounds, such as waves, thunder or rain, in order to help you fall asleep, study and so on. Without paying a dime, there's already a lot of sounds and pre-made ambient mixes to use.
Still looking for the weather widget
Other than Nova, We also talk about Action Launcher 3
Both are Awesome!
I don't think that Relay is a great representation of material, but i understand the functional part that you're mentioning.
My favourite material apps are:
action launcher - i prefer it to nova since because i like the quickpage and quickbar costumizations. And all the shortcuts as well.
Alto email app - It has support for gmail, outlook and all the other major main accounts. From what i've been searching it has the most beautiful interface of mail app on android.
Evernote - this one is not because it's super pretty, because it's not, but because the fab button extends so you choose what kind of input you wanna do (write a text note, audio, reminders, attachments, etc). Really nice.
Movie Roll - probably the best app to manage and discover movies and shows. And beautifully designed as well.
karma machine - if you want a beautifully designed reddit app with wonderful animations this is the one to go to. It doesn't have all the features implemented, since it's a work in progress, but every month the app receives new updates with new features. The attention to detail in this app is so good that it's worth checking out, even with not being yet a daily driver reddit app.
If you want a more fully featured reddit app i also suggest you trying slide for reddit.
Phonograph - a beautifully designed music player.
Pocket casts - if you listen to podcasts this app is worth giving a shot. wonderful animations and interface.
Simple Schedule - if you're in school and need an app to use as a school calendar and manage tasks and exams and homeworks then try the app. it's a bit buggy but the developer pushes frequent updates so hopefully those bugs will be eliminated soon.
wallgram - my new favourite app to find wallpapers. A lot of really good wallpapers to choose from.
Hope this helps!
Action Launcher 3
Slide for Reddit
Google for "Okay Google" when I'm driving is super handy
Pocketcasts of course

Everything I download when I first get my phone or if I re-root for any reason. Everything else like icons or apps are for personal needs at the moment especially personalizing stuff.
my current setup
Here's a big collection of all the wallpapers I like and use. http://imgur.com/a/ILvYZ
My favorite app for finding wallpapers is Backdrops
Poster Home (imgur gallery)) is what I call my attempt to get the best of both worlds. Minimal appearance with a homepage where all my favorite apps are organized like I want.
action launcher 3
I really like material design
Launcher: Action Launcher 3
Wallpaper: KLWP with Material Weather
Neither :) I use Action Launcher.
For those interested in replicating my setup:
System UI - Good Lock
Launcher - Action Launcher 3
Wallpaper - The Watchtower
Icon Pack - Moonshine
Theme - Material Dark
Wallpaper is a Kanye inspired wallpaper found on his subreddit
Pill at the bottom is XDA Gestures
Status bar themed using systemui tuner app
White background icons are from Action Launchers Adaptive Pack
Dark Icons are from Darkmatte icon pack
The white background icons also function as folders, so a tap opens that app but a swipe on them opens a folder with other related apps
Other than that Nova Launcher is always another stable option!
Other than those theres also Amaze File Manager which is Free and Open Source.
Hope that helps. :)
Thank you. Boredom at work is one hell of a thing
Launcher: Action Launcher 3 Pro
Icon Pack: Cryten
Widgets: Todoist on second homescreen
I currently rock this setup. My first screen consists only the apps i primarily use, and all secondary apps are in Covers (Feature of actionlauncher for those who don't know).
Second screen is only a widget for Todoist so that I can have a quick look at my schedule and/or what i have to do for the time being.
All links are to the Play Store if they can be found there. Some of them are from F-Droid.
List made using List My Apps
Action Launcher 3!.
I was a big fan of Nova until I purchased Action Launcher 3
Launcher: Action Launcher 3- Left
and right screens are from dragging from those edges.
Clock (w/ Zooper Pro): Wafer
Here's what I used:
Action Launcher 3 for the blank homescreen.
Glovebox for the pull out app tray/drawer.
Pop-up Widgets for the Google search on the second screen.
Using Action Launcher 3 (pro version) and CandyCons. Found the wallpaper with JKWalls, and the calendar widget is the agenda widget that comes with Today Calendar.
The font of the lockscreen clock is ShareTechMono
Action launcher 3 (Switched from Go Launcher) with different Icon Packs. I use Switch UI
Simple, fast, and eye appealing.
I have IFTT to change my wallpaper every morning and
the colors of the Launcher change depending on the wallpaper.
I love it!

<strong>Galaxy Note 4</strong>

Device: Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo
Launcher: Action Launcher
Clock widget with extensions: DashClock Widget + DashClock BetterCalendar
Potem - Icon Pack
I've used my basic skills with Inkscape: https://imgur.com/fRersuA
Side Notes: I would also love a suggestion for a wallpaper with contrasting colors in half, like mine, but not that much minimalist. Thanks!
Everything needed for this theme:
Action Launcher ;
I got the wallpaper from this app. The clock widget I used comes from the default clock app in OxygenOS.
I also used Screener to show the theme in the phone cutout.
I've been using Action Launcher and I love it.
I understand Oreo can be polarizing for a lot of people around here but overall I'm happy with the update.
With the new Adaptive Icon feature a lot of your icons will look very boxy and weird with the standard Google Now Launcher so I would highly recommend a launcher with an icon pack if you're not already using one.
I'm using Action Launcher with AdaptivePack but I would also reccomend Nova or Lawnchair (All three of these launchers can have the Google Now pane if you sideload an apk) with the Pixel Icon Pack.
Any chance you've already tried Action Launcher? It's my go-to. I've got it set up with a bunch of 'Covers,' which are folders hidden behind an icon you can tap to launch a main app or swipe to open the folder. I also love the list-style app drawer that swipes in from the left side like the hamburger menus in many apps.
If you're after something pretty different, there's Smart Launcher. I only played around with this one a little bit, but it is pretty attractive.
If you're interested in trying the more contextual category of launchers, ASAP Launcher or Yahoo's Aviate Launcher.
Action Launcher 3.
Hey, I personally use Nova and Action launcher 3 so I'll tell you a few things different for the better and worse in Action.
First the good stuff. A very customizable search bar which also themes on its own by pulling the colors from the current wallpaper. A list of all apps that can be swiped to from the left side of the screen which also themes with wallpaper. A kinda minidrawer accessed by swiping from the right side of the screen which is a good alternative to multiple scrollig docks and also themes with the wallpaper. A responsive active dev via Google+.
Somethings you will miss. You cant make folders in the App Drawer. No multiple scrollable docks but that habit can be overcome by getting accustomed to the minidrawer accessed from the right of the screen known as Quickpage. Cant add blank pages on the homescreen which can be bypassed by adding invisible widgets. The theming does not allow the color black, only dark grey though the dev is looking into this. The only major deal breaker for some that has no alternative solution or workaround at the moment is no folders in the app drawer, just one long list, so no scope for organizing unless you want to add all of them on the homescreen. Otherwise it is a nice responsive colorful launcher.
If you are looking for a different kind of super customization you can go for Lightinig Launcher and Total Launcher but these have a lea.
Another launcher that is currently in beta but gains its features from both Nova and Action is Launcher X Beta.
Its goolge+ community where the dev is active:

it looks to me like action launcher becuase of the apps in the quickbar - Play Link!
I like simple and slick, maybe this may change your mind.
Chris Lacy's Action Launcher is one of the best
My setup is a little busier than most of them here.
ROM: XtreStoLite 1.4a
Theme: Material Light (from XDA)
Wallpaper: Randomly-generated material by Tapet
Icons: Long Shadow
Widgets: Today Calendar, Jack's Music Widget, Power Toggles, Wunderlist, Days--, and Fitbit
Anything else notable: My dpi is set to around 520, I think, so it uses more of the screen. Also, each of the icons is either a swipe-able folder or launches a widget - which is the great feature from Action Launcher.
Launcher: Action Launcher 3 Pro
Wallpaper: Iride UI is Hipster
Icons: Iride UI is Hipster
Clock Widget: Minimal clock
Weather widget: Weather Timeline
Calendar widget: Google Calendar
I used Aviate for the longest time. Then I found Action Launcher and I've never looked back.
This one? Doesn't seem available for TVs.

Nice! I love this.
My phone is all Mirror's Edge, all of the time. It's probably better to post here vs. starting a new thread.
I use Action Launcher which automatically changes colors on the main search bar and all menu backgrounds based on the current wallpaper.
I have hundreds of my favorite Mirror's Edge screenshots saved in a folder which rotate every half hour with the Muzei app. A lot of screenshots found here and all over the web as well as some I took on my own. I love the 4k stuff people have been posting here the last few weeks.
The icon pack is Durgon but I am wondering if I should go back to Umbra. If anyone has any good suggestions on icon packs you think are very Mirror's Edge-y, let me know!
Launcher: Action Launcher
Icon pack: Linebit
Combination of Spheroid and Pixel IP icon packs.
Here's the wallpaper.
The widget is Another Widget.
The launcher is Action Launcher. It's a lot like the Pixel launcher but with a bunch of extra configuration options and it even has Google Now integration. The icon pack is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.adaptiveiconpack. Right now it only works with action launcher, but its like the native Adaptive icons but backported and with a bunch of icons made for apps that don't have the support yet. The developer recently got the Samsung squircle shape in and I'm loving it!
Action launcher with the lastest update. Found the wallpaper on this sub and made the widget with Zooper. I'm using Pixelation icon pack.
Action Launcher is the best by far.
I use Action launcher.
It has Google Now built in instead of Bixby.
Perfect with the edge display.
Has Oreo shortcuts
So I love wallpapers based on Scotland (where I'm originally from) as it is an absolutely stunning place. I've spent a lot of time putting together my own icon pack to match them. What do you think?

i got a new phone, and decided to try a new launcher
action launcher 3 + circuitry live wallpaper
app groups (with default actions!)
app drawer (home screen button or left slideout with alphabetical quick sorting)
chrome (my website)
termux shell (tmux and zsh) - .termux/colors.properties
Backdrops Exclusive Wallpaper
For the Widget I played around with Fox for Zooper
Action Launcher 3 (switched from Aviate couple weeks ago. Phone feels much faster now) and Now For Reddit (In my option one of the best reddit apps). currently two of my most used app. Also Tasker, that has been running background on my phones/tablet for years :P
Also sometimes I use Shazam/SoundHound if i need to check what song is currently playing.
And probably most unproductive app I currenlty have is Pokémon Go (and for that, GoIV and Go Extender) :P
EDIT: minor text fixes
Was messing with Kustom at first but grew tired of constantly tweaking something that's only going to last a few days maybe.
I decided to say screw it and make this, it came out nicely.
Action Launcher 3 (Beta) - Has to be beta because of the Nexus Launcher Features. I think it has to be pro too but I'm not sure. Honestly you could just use Nova also or even the Nexus Launcher itself.
Polycon - Icon Pack - I love these icons. Decided on these over Moonshine. Just switching your icon pack to this should be enough. Phonograph is my music app but it doesn't have an icon on this pack so i ended up picking a different icon.
Android N CM13 Theme - I used this to make the whole UI look a bit like N. Nav Bar comes from here.
Backgrounds: In the album up top.
Late entry. I really like my screen clean and relaxing.
Action Launcher 3 (Google Launcher look-alike but customizable)
Zooper Widget Pro
Backdrops - Wallpapers
The screen looks useless but I use my launcher to make it work.
Swipe up will open Google Gesture Search which I can find any app I want to use.
Swipe left will open Google Now.
Well then Action Launcher kinda has you covered.
Icons: a mix between Candycons & Polycon
Here's what I have installed on my device.
I am currently not experiencing any lag from day to day use.
Running Processes are as follows:
Take a look at "Action Launcher 3" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore
I think it's free with an in app purchase to get the pro features. I can't tell on my phone since I've already paid.
Nope. Action Launcher 3
Action launcher fits your descritptions perfectly, here is link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore&hl=en
Icons - Min
Icon Pack: Click UI
Wallpaper: Material Wallpapers
Clock Widget: UCCW skin called Flat Sense
Calendar Widget: Month: Calendar Widget is hands down the best calendar widget I have ever used! It even brings up a separate interface when you tap on a day!
I use Action Launcher. The swipe up folders and widgets are very productive. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore
you can try this launcher https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore
it can do this

Action launcher also follows the wallpaper color picking itself, the dock background is a result of that. For some reason, the android 12 icons don't work that well on android 11.
Action launcher has exactly that - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore
Big fan of Action Launcher. Used it for years.
Action Launcher is the first one that comes to mind as a replacement for Nova. It's not perfect and doesn't have as many customizations as Nova does, but the developer has committed to fixing some of the long standing issues. The only thing that's going to turn some people of is that some features require a yearly supporter payment to change, but if that's the cost to keep this app alive and independent then I'm willing to pay it.
Pear Launcher is what I've been using for the past year and it's got just enough customization for me. It's not perfect, but I've only had a few minor crashes and it's a one-time fee for the pro features. Don't expect frequent updates, as it just saw a minor update after six months.
Just switched to Neo Launcher today and I'm very impressed so far. There's a few odd glitches here and there but nothing that was a deal breaker. It feels like Pear Launcher with a modern design based on Material You. But there's also little touches such as an outline of where your icon is going to be placed on the desktop and a much longer delay before apps are rearranged which makes folder creation so much easier that I really appreciate. Looking forward to where this app goes, hopefully it's a viable alternative to the rewrite of Launchair since that is mired in controversy now.
Edit: Got interrupted before I finished writing this comment. In between this launcher you might like. Has black dark the me option.
Action Launcher: Pixel Edition
OK, so this could get you where you want. Found a thing. I dont have the time to test it myself at the moment. Can later when I get home. Going to require root. It's old method and defiantly not made for Snow Cone (Android 12)
Starting here and working through pages it ^maybe ^^might ^^^possibly? work on a rooted pixel.
Starting here found the more recent method.
Read about and follow the guide to install Shizuku

Yeah, there are solutions, maybe. It's not straightforward.

You can find action launcher in the play store it's made by Chris lacy https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore

Action Launcher: Pixel Edition
Action Launcher has a Quickpage feature where you swipe from the right side of the screen to access a page of widgets. Unfortunately it's not scrollable.
SF Launcher 2 is designed around the idea of a scrollable list of cards that can be a widget or a group of apps. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated in over three years but was a unique take on how a home screen should work.
Widget Drawer sounds like what you're looking for. It puts a bar on the edge of your screen to open a scrollable page of widgets. The UI for adjusting the size of the widgets is a little clunky, but it's in early access so that's something I can live with.
Have you tried Action Launcher?
is this the one ?
First time learning how to theme. Feedbacks are much appreciated! I already posted this but I discovered how to properly put it into a frame, so I decided to repost this (shameless, I know! 😅)
Widget: Ornate for KWGT pro (Widget 21)
Flight- Flat Minimalist Icons
Icon Pack Studio: For icons that are unsupported by the icon pack, this turns them into minimalistic style that looks almost identical to the icon pack style.
Wapaper: Wallx App, but here is the image anyways
Widget: Ornate for KWGT pro Widget 21

Make sure you're using the Pixel Edition of Action Launcher.
Google companion for Action Launcher
I also found action launcher to be a good substitute for the pixel launcher

Date+time and weather widgets are custom made in KWGT.
Walpaper found on Pinterest, slightly modified (some graphics removed to make plain background for widgets)

Happy Christmas everyone!
A option on my launcher.
I use action launcher (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore). Basically mimics stock with a ton of adjustments.
I use the retrorika icon pack (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sikebox.retrorika.material.icons)
and I just switched to the twilight theme as per recommendation from the sub (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lge.theme.markbencze.twilight.vthirty)
If you chose not to use twilight and instead use another theme, I'd suggest getting the quick settings app, let's you have more types of quick shortcuts in the notification shade.
Launcher: Action Launcher

Day/time/weather Widget: custom Kwgt widget
Action Launcher for me just for the quick drawer
It's a different launcher : Action Launcher
I jumped from Nova to this a while back and have been enjoying it.
Action Launcher. I really like the Quick Drawer feature.
See Action Launcher Plug-In App also.
I left out the obvious ones as well as the Sweden-specific ones.
I love action launcher; I especially love the swipe actions on icons.
I use Action launcher with Light Void Icons
I use the app icons as covers since you swipe up to show the folder.
I like it very clean, minimal, and organized.

Nice Simple Photo Widget.

Thought I'd add that sadly for KLWP and KWGT you need to have the payed version to import the settings.
Action Launcher seems to be the closest to the Pixel experience.

Highly recommend Chris Lacy's Action Launcher
The Google Play Store page as the general gist of them.
Action launcher (Pixel-inspired launcher) just got support for this along with Android O features. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore&hl=en

Reddit App/Widget: Boost
Icon pack: Lumos
Yeah its in the play store.
The launcher is called Action Launcher- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore&hl=en_GB
I don't have my pixel in yet but I'm reasonably sure that you can't change icons with the default Pixel launcher. Please let me know if I'm wrong here.
However, if you do like the Pixel launchers features, you can download Action Launcher from the play store. I really like it and the dev implemented a lot of the Pixel launcher stuff when it was leaked a few weeks ago. This will give you the ability to change up the icons. You do have to turn on the Pixel features through the Action Launcher settings
As for Icon Packs, I tend to lean towards gray scaling a lot. My current one is called Glasklart: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.go.launcherex.theme.kxnt.glasklart&hl=en.
I also like Silhouette for a little bit of color: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xonyxltd.icon.silhouettedonate&hl=en
what is action launcher's ID?
Should be just ls app.actionlauncher* but it says no such file or directory.
Using Action Launcher 3, with its Quicktheme feature (which I love!)
Also, background found on the Backdrops app.
Edit: I should stop doing things on reddit when I'm half asleep.
Here's the icon pack, which I forgot. Immaterialis.
And the background isn't actually found on Backdrops, but it's such a good app that I'm leaving it there for you.
Rooted my phone for the first time and thought my phone should get a nice clean new look in addition to the new clean internals. Spent more time than I would like to admit tweaking it to get it to this point where I am happy and satisfied with it......for now.

I'm using Action Launcher. I've got just one home screen, no dock, everything I need hidden behind covers and shutters. Here's to get an idea which have covers and shutters.
Further I've got icons scaled to 120% and disabled icon titles and cover/shutter indicators for a cleaner look

I am still waiting for my 6P to arrive but I tought to join with my Nexus 5. Hope no one minds :)
As for BT (which seems to be what everyone wants to/can comment on), I recently bought a Pebble from a friend, and have noticed no detrimental effect from having BT on all the time. Actually, I've noticed more battery life, as I'm not waking the phone nearly as often!
As for rooting, I have no idea. I've not done it (yet), and there aren't many things I've wanted to do that I haven't been able to because of that decision. That said, there seem to have been a few minor tweaks I would like to be able to do, so it's still something I'm considering.
And as for starter apps, my biggest recommendations would be:
a new launcher (personally, I've been loving Action Launcher 3);
Bacon Reader, a Reddit client that I like quite a bit;
Ampere, for keeping an eye on battery drain/charge rates;
Snapdragon Battery Guru, a battery/app manager that controls refresh rates for apps based on how you use your phone/which apps you use the most;
Physics Toolbox Suite, a cool little app that gives you a visual display of various sensor readings in realtime (I don't use it a lot, but sometimes it's pretty useful);
Sleep as Android or Sleep Cycle, sleep tracker apps with smart alarms, which have made mornings suck significantly less for me since I started using them;
Snapseed, a decent little photo editor which can handle the G4's RAW files as well as JPGs;
VLC, a powerful video player with pretty much every codec you'd ever need;
Waze, a replacement for Google Maps with realtime traffic and other updates;
WiFi Analyzer a WiFi analyzer;
and whatever games/apps/services you like or use regularly.
Hope you find that little list helpful. Those are some of the most-used apps of mine, or the ones I find most useful. There are, of course, many others.
And Zooper widget pro

See this article for more:
The most popular for sure will probably end up being Nova launcher, due to its very high level of customisability.
Everyone is different though.
Use Action Launcher, it adapts to your color scheme automatically

The wallpaper is being handled by Muzei Live Wallpaper which uses MultiMuze to switch between wallpapers from Muzei HD Landscapes and 500px.
The widget is a version of Cyanogenmod's Chronus which has already been included in my custom ROM.
The search box changes its color fitting to to wallpaper btw.

I've tried a lot of changes and this one suits me best:
Action Launcher 3 - I paid PRO feautres (5 USD)
SimplRom v3.2F - Great performence, developer makes nice mods, themes (I use AMOLED Black and White). I use their kernel.
