I remember Toni Morrison being on Colbert or Stewart or something and she was talking about how she can't remember Beloved at all so she can read her own books as if she's her own audience, she definitely saw the silver lining in it. It's not insane to me because I'm 24 and my memory is so terrible I can definitely imagine writing a book and forgetting about it decades later.

It's no secret that he suffered from early-onset Alzheimer's so he had a rather particular interest in the subject. For anyone not aware, this was an improvement of about .15 seconds, and means Any% is essentially dead. Darb said he's done running this now and frankly i don't blame him.
By the way, for anyone who doesn't know how great this is because all the splits say +0.0, he was literally tied with a human doable TAS up till 8-4. If I'm remembering what the TAS time is correctly, he is less than 10 frames off of a literally perfect run. I'm not 100% on the exact numbers here so if anyone knows better please correct me.

EDIT: For the people that wonder why he haven't played from ipad, you can't spectate/play with other players that have different patches. We figured this out, after Rdu was doing a new account to spectate his games from it - so the next hour we spent on playing the tutorial SeemsGood . And in the end, it doesn't even matteeer.
Can't recall off the top of my head, but one of the MJ documentaries talks about how the Bulls all felt they were spent after Game 5 because of how relentless the Jazz were and after the Bulls played so many more games before the finals. After that all our good players left and I don’t want to write about that. I was still pretty young at that time but it was one of the best years of my life. My mum had choir practice at Wednesdays so it would just be me and my dad watching all those Ajax games together. Even the Feyenoord supporting kids in my school were Ajax fans that year.

This was an extremely important round, Counter-Strike is a ~~best of 16 rounds game~~ max round 30 game, where the teams switch sides after 15 rounds, which means both teams get to play defender (Counter-Terrorist, stop the bomb from being planted by killing the entire enemy team or letting the time run out, or defuse the bomb if planted) and attacker (Terrorist, plant the bomb or kill all enemies). In this case the enemies are on match point and have the momentum on their side.
The AWP (Sniper rifle Coldzera is weilding) is a very accurate, when standing still, but slow and expensive weapon. When jumping and firing a weapon where the bullet lands is completely random. Here it happens to land and kill two people with one bullet, which is unheard of.
Not only that, but after winning this round LG manage to bring back the game, take it to overtime (15-15) and win the game in overtime (15-19).
Edit: Forgot to mention that this is the semi final in one of the ~~four~~ three pr year "Major" tournaments hosted by the game creators Valve, with a pricepool of $1 Million.

It isn't the best or the most hyped, but by far my favorite live performance is Born Singer stage from BTS Begins concert. It was very emotional, and you can tell that the members felt each and every word they sang. I also love their stage: going from facing each other to facing ARMYs, and with the words and images playing on screen in the background.
If I had to choose one and only one performance to see at a BTS concert, this would be it. (Unfortunately, the chances of that are zero.) I actually re-watched this after their MAMA daesang, and it really killed me.

As an aside, last time I watched WWF/WWE was 2002-ish. It's interesting how they've pretty much adopted the style of professional boxing now, in how they present fights. They have professional-looking ringside commentators, and a pre-show discussion panel where men in suits discuss the upcoming matches and use the same clichés you hear in HBO and Showtime boxing coverage. Their pundits also speak just like HBO boxing pundits, with the same dumbass inflections and pacing.

The show isn't about guessing things in boxes - this segment just is. It's a variety show, so they do something different in each episode. This show typically spends like the first half of the episode focusing on something which a single member (or small group of them) wanted to do, then it shifts back to the studio, where a much larger group does some other activity.
Of course, the show breaks this formula all the time, so that doesn't mean much.
I've touted him before and I'll do it again... Lizzard is pro-level player who's genuinely funny and super-friendly to his teammates and viewers and also has a fun shtick. He's Bosnian but sometimes does a pretend Russian gag which may sound tired and cliche but trust me, he makes it work, and he also serenades his teammates with the harmonica. (Yes, he's the guy from the Synderen video).

Just wanted to say hi in this thread. I always lurk in this sub but I don't post too often. I go between here and PT ( yes I know it's a cesspool but I started lurking there after the breakup and I like some of the posters there. Lol.)

Edit: A thank you to all the other streamers as well. I almost never miss a show nowadays thanks to streamers using Mixlr, Ustream, Periscope, and various other streaming mediums. I came into Phish at the tail end of the tape era, 99/2000. I remember reading about shows on dial up and then trading for B&P on RMP and waiting weeks to months to hear a show. It's unreal how far we've come. Streamers might be the ugly little brother to a taper, but that ability to provide access, albeit crude audio sometimes, to the fanbase...we get get to live in the moment with these fans and the band...its wild to me. I kid but at the same time I'm serious, what a time to be alive. ;D

Anyway, this is actually really cool to see. It's not surprising both bots spaz out once facing each other, though. I assume both bots are programmed to read the opponent's inputs/state somehow, and react instantly. They won't make a move unless the other does, so they try to bait something by shuffling around... which leads to that.

I record all of my calls to any organization that says the call is monitored for quality purposes. I don't need to tell them they are being recorded, they just told me they are being recorded so they already know. I use Google voice calling and open broadcast software (https://obsproject.com/) with microphone and speaker feed in the mixer.

I'm pretty sure there's been an attempt by Nike and Lebron's team to erase this video from the internet and obfuscate its existence with shortened and edited versions, since the only place you can find it is dailymotion.
It appears to have been mildly successful since alot of people think this and the 30 second versions are the real commercial
AMD cards already have the Video Coding Engine (VCE), and software that can use it already exists (Plays.tv). I don't see what the problem with Plays.tv is, it works absolutely fine for me.

Someone on the spoiled sub also joked about Eureka creating an army of bots to invalidate the other girls. I like the idea of Eureka staying up late hatching her plan after seeing the Miss Congeniality bylines. Eureka acting as a tech mastermind is the reunion storyline we deserve.

Well I usually watch True Detective on T.V, but once I saw someone wanted a gif made, I went and loaded up the episode on HBO GO, ran a screen recording software called OBS, recorded the part I wanted, then I converted it to an mp4 using a program called format factory (which also allowed me to cut the video) and then I uploaded it straight to gfycat! Whole process probably took 5 minutes.
The title of the book means "fuck me" in french, and is about rape, sex, drug and murder. It was made into a PG18 movie in the early 2000s in France. It was quite the scandal, actually when the movie came out...

This is the submission video for it, it seems to be a 3ds game that was actually made for toddlers where you hold right for 30 minutes. It looks like you can't reasonably die as the runner just tanks every hit with no regard for hp loss or slowdown (see ~22:40-23:00 for some bad examples of this). I looked up the game's actual audio and the music is atrocious. Even if it was in the awful block, 30 minutes of this would be brutal, but it's right in the middle of a 3ds block.
While it's a little late for gdq to reconsider, I think this game and run has few redeeming qualities and will be received VERY poorly. I'm frankly surprised this made the cut over some really good rejected runs.

Italian talk/variety show called Chiambretti Night. It's themed as an interview in a nightclub so it had a fair bit of dancers throughout the show. Jose Mourinho was also on the show and had a similar lap dance performed on him. I imagine there's a better video, but I promise he's one of the pixels if you can't tell. You can also just search the name of the show and find about 30 lap/pole dance videos from the show.

There's actually a Studio Ghibli film about Tanukis called Pom Poko; it's one of my favorite animated movies. It's directed by Isao Takahata, who also directed Grave of The Fireflies.
It also features the only depiction of attack balls in a children's movie. Worth watching for that alone.
