It was a VPN service, not sure why it's called "One Month with Trial" here.
EDIT: So turns out Hotspot Shield, the company where I got the VPN’s trial from are the ones who named their product “One month with trial” in the Microsoft store. Whether this is intentional or not, I can’t be sure, but based on a lot of comments saying Hotspot Shield is known to do shit like this, I assume it was on purpose.
For those of you calling me a dumbass for choosing Hotspot Shield, I literally just needed a VPN for a one-time purpose and didn’t want to pay for it. I made enough research to make sure they wouldn’t steal my credit card, and it worked for my purpose
Also, I realize that the flair “NOT MICROSOFT” is making a lot of people think this is a phishing email. This email is legit from Microsoft, the product itself isn’t from Microsoft, but comes from the Microsoft store
I made sure the VPN was ~~reputable~~ legit! It's called Hotspot Shield, and it took me to the Microsoft store to download it (I always make sure links are authentic before I put any personal info in them). This email I received is also from Microsoft's domain, and the link to cancel my subscription worked fine
Edit: I called the VPN service reputable here, but I really just meant to say that I made enough research to make sure my card wasn’t getting stolen. I needed a VPN for a one-time purpose and just wanted something that worked, and to be fair it did. Now I never need to look at it again

FYI, Hotspot Shield is owned by AnchorFree. These people have a bad.
Ah. Okay, then; I might recommend uVPN or Hotspot Shield, though they both have a faster premium option if you are willing to pony up the money. I usually use Ultrasurf as my primary VPN and then Hotspot Shield as a backup. The advantage of these are that they don't require any download onto your computer; you only have to get Google Chrome.
I made a poster to put in front of my study place. Just random equations and a nice Ksp background, with a piece of code from here
You can download the pdf to print the poster if you want here: ?dl=0
I can sell you a shotgun for a really cheap price.
In all seriousness, don't pay attention to him. He is probably some shitstain that lives his life in a basement, continously telling his family that he will be a lolpro in the future, rather than get a proper job and education. You may also want to use a proxy like Hotspot Shield, since those type of things change your IP to another IP.
I just got back from a teaching assignment with my company that had me go to Oman, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai) then finally back to the US, which took about a month.
The whole time, I tried to use Hotspot Shield to watch Hulu, but the internet in the hotels that I stayed at in these countries was too slow to use in conjunction with the VPN, so I started using other internet sites like surfthechannel, sidereel, etc.
After a while of trying to do that with the super slow internet in the hotels, I just gave up, and went back to reading, waiting for when I came back to the US to get caught up again.
Get back, watch the three episodes of season 2 in a row, and realize that season 4 had not posted. That was when I finally saw that message.
Within 45 secs, I was watching the season 4 episode using surfthechannel.
Then, I noticed how an episode of warehouse 13 that I wanted to watch had expired yet, I was able to watch it on surfthechannel.
From that point I realized that there is really zero advantage for paying for Hulu plus versus the free account if shows are going to expire and not be available to me anyway, and the back library of shows are actually disappearing (Dollhouse no longer available for prime).
That is why it is cancelled. The SGU set it in motion.
Someone posted a Daily Mail article about Alexandra Mezher, a Swedish social worker who was stabbed to death, to 4chan. They couldn't access it so they asked other people from Sweden to try.
Whoever made the screen grab (presumably not from Sweden) could assess the article simply by copy and pasting the link to their browser.
They then use ShadeYou client, with the location set to Sweden. They then try to access the article again and couldn't.
I don't think Hotspot Shield was trying to be deceptive.
They named the subscription "One Month with Trial" to show that you are subscribing to 1 month of service, and receiving a trial. The issue comes that MS's automated email is expecting the Subscription name to be something like "Hotspot Shield Pro", so as a result the email becomes this confusing mess.
I highly recommend PIA, had an account for 2 years and it's just gotten better and better in that time. Can be used on mobile too and provides an adblocking option now too (although still worth using other adblockers too.)
Edit: For Netflix lovers I believe Hotspot Shield VPN is worth looking in to, used a free trial of theirs about a month ago and Netflix worked even when connected. How long that'll last I don't know, but if you'd rather the government not know you're watching Barbie Fairytopia at 3am on a Saturday night having ordered 3 large dominoes pizza with a bunch of Ben and Jerrys added on, after setting your facebook status to single.... well then it's worth the effort to find vpns that work with Netflix. :)
No, GMA did not took down the video. They just blocked us (Philippines) from viewing it.
I guess other countries can view the video?
UPDATE 1: I tested on a VPN on US, Germany, UK London... video is still blocked :/ (I used hidemyass free VPN web proxy)
UPDATE 2: Tested another VPN... Installed Hotspot Shield chrome ext, set my VPN to Germany... and video is showing.
It’s pretty sad that they interviewed Hotspot Shield in the article and pushes it as “one of the most popular VPNs in the world”. The reputation of that company as a privacy tool is pretty crappy:
Use a real VPN next time. One that costs money and has a good reputation. Think about it. 5-10 dollars a month or this again. Also if this is the first time this happened and you play dumb and pretend you have no clue how it happened they'll let it slide. Your ISP likely doesn't care at all and they only have to do this because of the copyright holders.
Hotspot Shield is so bad you might as well not use a VPN. Think about it. It's free. How do they make money? If you look it up you'd find out that they work with ISPs and hand over IPs which is probably how you got caught assuming you set things up correctly. They keep logs of everything you do while using their VPN and what your real IP is. They violate your privacy. They track you and sell your data to third parties like advertisers. They've been reported to the FTC because of how shady and shitty their practices are. Their privacy policy is extremely hard to understand on purpose. To add insult to injury their servers are super slow. Do some research and find a better VPN. No one would ever recommend Hotspot Shield. Just suck it up and shell out the 60 dollars a year. Way less stress, right?
Hola! VPN is not safe. They do some pretty shady things with your data.
EDIT 1: In 2015, people found out Hola! VPN was selling part of their user's bandwidth to be used in a bot net. There are some articles, like this one, that explains the situation a little bit more in-depth.
EDIT 2: My current VPN provider is the free version of Hotspot Shield. It's pretty good, although not as good as the paid version.
Nobody likes the video but they still want YouTube, very few would still be supportive of the ban, most people are without internet so don't give a shit. Our interior minister tweeted that a firewall is supposed to go up next week which will censor the particular video and then YouTube will be unblocked. In the 5 or so months they did unblock it for roughly 2 hours before a dumbass TV channel started reporting that if you search for the video you can still find it.
Here are a couple of humourous and entertaining blog posts on the matter, which should give you a view on how most Pakistanis feel:
Edit: Forgot to mention, most Pakistanis on the internet use Hotspot Shield or some other proxy software and still use YouTube.
Well, first off, it's blocked for a reason, so I'm gonna advise you focus on work at work or school while at school. But hey, I'm not your teacher/boss -- who the hell am I to stop you?
Also, do note that having any of these could potentially be against any terms of service with your workplace or school, so it's probably within your best interest to look into any handbooks or anything else that would explicitly state some rules on web usage.
First off, you can try Hotspot Shield. Just keep note that a system administrator could possibly check your files remotely and find the client.
Second, and my personal choice, is Browsec VPN for FireFox. Sorry to any Chrome users, and while you can get a VPN on Chrome, I've found this one to work best. Obviously, you'll want Firefox browser, and this plugin -- both for free. Should get you around filters, but is a bit slow sometimes. I believe it'd be harder for and sys admins to check, too.
Again, I'd like to restate that having a VPN on your computer could potentially get you into deep trouble if caught. If you're just using it for something as harmless as Showdown, you might get off easy, but it could also come off as suspicious to any employers or... whatever the school equivalent of an employer is (teacher? principal?). Stay safe and have fun.
Is it a timing issue or an availability issue? Because there are methods for watching all the games free with no viruses or anything if it's availability.
EDIT: Didn't mean to be mysterious, I just didn't want to be the guy telling everyone what they already know.
Basically, the reason you can watch free is that the NFL doesn't have a broadcasting deal in the Netherlands, so in order to let people watch, they let people from there get NFL Game Pass free online.
Methods:
Get a VPN to the Netherlands. I used Kepard, which gives you 30 min free every day. You only need to turn it on when you connect to Game Pass, and you can turn it off after that. This worked for me for a while, but it stopped working and I'm not sure why.
Ad Free Time. This is what I use now. It costs 2 bucks a month. Google it, go on the site, it's got all the instructions there. Again, use the Netherlands. If it's not working for you, flush your DNS cache and clear your cookies. It's always worked for me that way.
Once you've done this Google NFL game pass, go to the site and glory in all of the free NFL games you could desire.
Tip: dedicate a browser to just watching NFL. I use Chrome on a daily basis, so I just watch NFL on Firefox. You don't want to constantly be losing stuff because you're clearing your personal info.
I'm not sure, when I lived in the Middle East I found that Hidemyass was the most reliable free VPN. If someone is willing to shell out the dough, I've had good experiences with Hotspot Shield too.
Honestly though, my technical knowledge is limited, at best. I'm not even entirely sure what "DNS filtering" means.
I've used Hotspot Shield before. It's unlimited bandwidth and more than adequate speeds for free. The only thing is that it'll show ads every now and then on the top of pages (which are blocked by AdBlock, anyway).
Example is Hotspot Shield on the app store. Nearly a 5 star rating, one of the top 3 VPNs there. But they log data, sell it, give it up to police, and tamper with your connection injecting ads into it.
Get free VPN software like Hotspot Shield, proXPN, etc, or you can buy a VPN service and you can watch or use region specific services. At least you aren't breaking the law by torrenting copyrighted stuff. Although, some VPN providers are just for torrenting, or look the other way when it comes to torrenting.
Don't install "anti-spyware apps." These are junk.
What VPN are you using? Not all are equal: Hotspot Shield accused of snooping on VPN users and selling data to advertisers
A VPN routes ALL of your traffic through an encrypted tunnel to the VPN providers site. This can be useful for protecting your privacy as well as changing your region for ALL internet traffic. Whilst powerful and useful this will have a huge effect on latency (crappy for gaming or video chat) and often a slight decrease in bandwidth.
DNS is basically the protocol the internet uses to turn URL's into IP address. A Service like GetFlix or uFlix etc simply tricks the website () into thinking that you are requesting it from another location, but still routes all of the traffic direct to you (So no increased latency by going through the middleman in another country). These services only modify locations for Netflix and Hulu etc and all other sites will still think they are in Australia.
I am trying this out. The similar Hotspot Shield has stopped working for the last few months but fingers crossed for this. Will comment here whether it works.
Edit: It's not working for me from India. Hulu says that based on my IP, I am trying to use an anonymous proxy tool. Moreover, it changed my Firefox homepage to its own url without warning me (which is not a big deal as it's not a spyware hijack; I changed it back easily. Just letting people here know of this.)
Edit: Thanks for the tip below rhsummer. IT WORKED on USA #4 for me. Me and my non-american brethren offer our humble gratitude and owe you a 1000 upvotes good Sir Schnitzel. Now, if you can give us a protip to download these videos too, we can increase the bounty to 1,337.
Please use the Application Control signature "Hotspot.Shield" to block the VPN. You will need to set the following signatures to Block too: "ISAKMP", "PPTP" and "L2TP". They are used on the iOS app to connect to the servers. Hotspot Shield VPN is one of the most evasive VPN, be sure to update your IPS Definition whenever a new one is available.
This should have been resolved well before the draft started. I think it's too late to change now. But I am also curious as to how divisions were decided. Maybe there should have been 1 pi team in each division? That would make things even for all radius teams. Pi teams would play slightly less on their home server, but everything would be 'even' in terms of servers played across all the eastern conference.
Fronj should try PrivateTunnel. I can connect to the NY PrivateTunnel server and get 70 ping to pi. Keep in mind my connection goes from south FL to NY back to Atlanta. There's no reason fronj can't get more than playable ping using PT (probably <60). 100 GB costs $12 which would last him the next 20 MLTP seasons. There are solutions here.
You are most likely safe enough just using Tor. Unless you are specifically Targeted by the FBI. (And they use some kind of exploit that hasn't been fixed yet to see through the Tor Network, which would be extremely rare chances) Hotspot Shield is a basic VPN/Proxy that encrypts your connection and acts as a tunnel for your Tor connection to run through. If you don't use HotSpot Shield, your ISP will know you are accessing Tor Network, but they won't know what links or content you are visiting because Tor Encrypts the connection. If you do use Hotspot Shield Your ISP will only know that you are connecting to Hotspot Shield and not be able to see the Tor tunnel. However, something to think about. (And again, the chances are incredibly slim) If you were targeted and there was a bug in the tor browser, they would see your HotSpot Shield IP Address and then they would be able to contact hotspot shield and ask them for the log of who connected to that IP. There would be a list of about 100 IP's one of them being yours and they could potentially narrow it down to you. This is because HotSpot Shield "logs" or keeps logs of what IP's connect to which of their servers. It all depends on how secure you want to feel. Levels of security
I made a network Map yesterday of how a VPN + Tor works, it may help you understand more about the security. Here.
HMA stands for "Hide My Ass" and its a VPN service. Im not sure of the laws where you live, but Ive never heard of VPNs being made illegal. All a VPN does is mask your true IP address and can make it look like you are located in another country.
Frankly, HMA isnt very good and you would probably be better off looking elsewhere. I like Kepard and Privat VPN, but there are hundreds of VPN providers to choose from, so you can choose one that suits you. All that being said though, you can achieve similar results much more easily with a browser plugin for Chrome called "Hola Better Internet". Works the same way a VPN does, but you can configure it to only work with certain websites, rather than redirecting all your internet traffic through a VPN.
Call airtel and threaten them to leave. Do this first !! and also call your friends and ask them to do the same , if they are on airtel.
For now , use ~~hotshield VPN~~ (typo) Hotspot Shield VPN to browse and download torrent file. After downloading the torrent file , you can continue as usual.
Or buy VPN package for a year , many airtel users are doing it (tech savvy).
If you cant do this , again call them , cancel the broadband , state the reason for cancellation as " Censorship/Block" , before leaving send an email to your nodal officer ( - Took some time to find this link ).
Seconded for PIA. I've used them for years, including from within China where the great firewall creates issues with most VPNs, and was happier with them than any of the three others I tried, including Hotspot Shield.
Can confirm. This works!!! :D

Just downloaded Hotspot Shield Free VPN form Microsoft: Here, sat it to Japan and I just got in game!!

You absolutely rock!!

Edit: added "Sat it to Japan"
Like most Japanese releases, this is blocked in the USA. I suggest a VPN like Hotspot Shield extension for Chrome or if you want an interesting experience you can watch this comparison video.
"Over the weekend, more than 120,000 people inside Turkey have downloaded Hotspot Shield, a free mobile app that provides a "virtual private network" (VPN) connection that cannot be tapped and can link to the outside world, avoiding censorship."
Just an FYI you can use spotflux, it's free and it has no usage limits. I've been using it since Diablo 3 got released (it's unplayable without it) and haven't had any info stolen or anything XD so it's safe.
Another free alternative would be Hotspot Shield which is ad-supported, which can be blocked by adblock plus.
Seriously. Just stay away from it. Find a better VPN that actually respects your privacy. Visit and look at the vpn comparison chart. Hotspot Shield is actually one of the worst rated VPNs on there.
I'd recommend staying from Hotspot Shield personally and instead go with another more trustworthy VPN service such as PIA, TorGuard or another VPN listed here:
Here's some information on Anchorfree Hotspot Shield: as to how much you want to believe, or how much to trust them and what not is entirely up to you of course.
They've also been caught injecting JavaScript codes using iframes for advertising and tracking purposes with their Android app. Then don't forget to always read their Privacy and Security Policy, which I found includes the following: "third-party data sharing, IP address sharing, tracking, web browsing data collection, and geographical information."
This. I never understood that either. There are thousands upon thousands of VPNs out there. Why the hell is that the only one mentioned? Literally I have used many VPNs over time and I find it amazingly confusing that (on here at least) it's the only one that seems to be mentioned. Shit it wasnt even a Google top result for me back in the day. Im using Airvpn right now. Though wouldve liked to use PrivateTunnel to support OpenVPN direct but their is something wrong with the payment or using it on Linux.
Step 1: Install Kepard
Step 2: Select an IP address in the Netherlands (NL)-if a connection doesn't work, pick a different IP address.
Step 3: Navigate to
Step 4: Launch the Gamepass app
Step 5: Once the app is launched, TURN OFF KEPARD
Step 6: Enjoy streaming NFL games, RedZone and various archives
Note: with Kepard you get 30 minutes/day of free VPN service, so you need to turn off Kepard after launching the app so as to not use up the 30 minutes.
Hotspot Shield is entirely ad and consumer data funded. They log almost all information about their users, and, by using their VPN service, you are forced to tunnel all of your information right to their servers and, subsequently, anyone to which they want to sell you.
I would advise you to download the program Hotspot Shield.
It basicially works like a proxy once activated, listed in USA/UK. - It will pop up in the right corner of your browser, where you can activate it.
Example: - The good thing about Hotspot Shield is, it wont make your videos load slower, and you'll be able to be logged in and like/commentate on vids :) - I love that program. Can also bypass IP bans, lol <3
PrivateTunnel as I had subscribed before returning. The only problem is you have to set up the vpn itself using vpn. So I had to get free trials from other VPNs just to set up my account. You only have to do this once and after that it’s perfect. 35 USD for a year.
As far as I know, NordVPN works with most regions, one of the few to access US Netflix. Just not sure about the Brazil Netflix, did not hear about any VPN being able to access that one. Maybe there isn't such a high need, so it's mostly not included, would love to be able to access it though :/ As for the US Netflix, you could also try Express. Personally haven't tried Hotspot Shield but I suggest reading more about them, just to be sure
These are always blocked in the US by Youtube for some reason when they first put them up. I suggest a VPN. Hotspot Shield is free for Chrome...I don't know anything about security but it works for letting me view Youtube stuff.
I'm using "Kepard". It gives you a 1 year free trail. And up to 30 minutes free per day. But if you bring up the game you want to watch, you can turn your VPN off, but the game will still stream. You just have to turn the VPN back on if you want to switch games.
Edit: Wow, someone gave me Gold for this! Thanks!
No. VPNs protect traffic as it leaves the device, but Kaspersky can capture traffic before it leaves the device. So, a VPN wont necessarily help.
On the VPN front, Kaspersky offers a VPN service that has come under fire for privacy issues
But, I believe the Kaspersky VPN service is white-labeled and actually operated by Hotspot Shield which has come under fire for deceptive marketing practices. So buyer beware.
You can use your VPN on your PS4, you can connect your PS4 to your PC using a normal ethernet cable. Connect to the internet on your PC through Wifi.
For Windows (I have Windows 7):
* Go to Network and Sharing Center
* Go to change adapter settings (on the left)
* Right click on wireless network connection
* Properties-> sharing then tick the box that says allow blablabla and choose local area connection.
Another solution would be using a VPN like Hotspot Shield (or anything with a software that you install) and a software called Connectify Hotspot that allows you to share the VPN's connection through Wifi or ethernet. Watch this for more info.
Let me know how it works out for you! :)
I know exactly how you feel mate, my dick is a monster too.
Here's a VPN that's free for the basic and $30 a year with the bells and whistles. It's a bit slow on the free one so with your slow connection you might have to pay for a faster service.
Also have a whinge to your isp about your speed, they managed to double mine.
Edit.
Shit sorry forgot to post the link. Hotspot Shield
It's ridiculous how Swagbucks has no issue with putting VPN app providers as offers in their Discover section but then will deactivate your account if you do such an offer and some different IP shows up in their log due to you starting the VPN app!
Be weary of doing these SB offers as they can get your account disabled:
Hotspot Shield - iOS
Hotspot Shield - Android
Norton Wifi Privacy VPN - iOS
Also if your internet provider is your internet connection goes down or there's a power outage or you're on the randomly switch you to a open Xfinity hotspot (if one's nearby) which will give you a different IP address and many sites will detect you're using a VPN because of it.
I'm not an expert in networking but my understanding of a VPN (Virtual Private Network) is that it allows you to connect to a Private network to access the public internet like a proxy of sorts. It really doesn't make sense that encrpyting your data and sending/receiving data with this additional step should be faster than using the network that your ISP provides to directly send/receive data to a site but you know, internet magic. To me it seems like using a VPN would have been more secure but slower but in my case it seems to let me have better speeds. Also there's perks like being able to circumvent geo restrictions like those annoying "This content is not allowed in your country". I personally use Hotspot Shield. There's many VPNs out there that are free and just as good if not better.
Again, I know nothing so just take everything I said as an opinion.
Also if you're outside the US you have a choice between using a proxy like Hotspot Shield (which is buggy and full of ads) with the craptastic Logo Player (buggy and full of ads), OR torrent it OR use non-Logo links that kind people provide. I'll take the ads and popups on those sites over the logo tv site TBH
I used Hotspot Shield on my iPod Touch when I was traveling in China and it got me access to anything and it worked great for me. Sure, it'll be slower than internet should be, but it's still a free VPN that got around the Great Firewall of China when I was over there.

I live in a filtered internet country so: * Hotspot Shield (Google it), great and easy to install, routes everything in your computer to an address in the US (There is also many programs like this, but you have to pay for most...)..... * hundreds of php/cgi proxies out there. If you have webspace, make one on your server, there are simple scripts for it. I have one thats password protected so it's not abused.... * Tor, as mentioned before..... * Squid-Cache (if you feel like getting your hands dirty for some quality protection)..... * VPN's such as IPREDator (created by ), european ones are usually pretty quality and located in countries with great internet and privacy laws.....
Just a few ways I can think of off the top of my head.
Edit: Sorry, i can't seem to get bullets to work ><
First you have to make a spotify account and choose USA as your country.
you can use Tor or VPN to access spotify's website for registering and downloading the software. (Hotspot Shield worked for me)
then you have to use vpn for one time to sign in. Don't forget to choose "Remember Me" then you'll can access spotify everytime without using VPN.
IMPORTANT: I used to use Tunnelbear VPN, since it has been blocked. I tried Hotspot Shield and IT WORKED.
It's right up there next to don't pirate an antivirus. You're directing all your browsing through a modified client and who knows where that could go and has a high potential for something like a MITM attack. But it's possible you could be safe. Usually Hotspot Shield or something low level is fine to pirate but they ~~don't allow P2P~~ keep logs, which means there's no point to even having a VPN for piracy. Better services like PIA are actually secure.
Here's a link to that generator. If you don't trust it, so be it. Use fake, temp emails and you'll be good. JulioVerne is a very trusted and respectable cracker for iOS and made a few easy trial generators.
Tried switching wi-fi to data, didn't work. Cleared cache, didn't work. Restarted phone, didn't work. Downloaded Tunnelbear, didn't work. Downloaded Hotspot Shield, worked. Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Android 5.1.1, on Sprint network
It's something that you will have to pay for. It's a separate service that encrypts your traffic from your computer to a secure server. That way, when hackers or governments try to access your data, it only appears as a long string of unreadable data. However this only protects traffic. If you or the website you access has been compromised, your data will also be compromised.
I use Kepard, which has Android and Windows applications for really easy access. I won't post a link since I fucking hate affiliate links, and there are a lot of providers to choose from. Just get one that doesn't log your traffic and is based outside of the US. They run about $5 a month.
sigh
I didn’t even get told this.
My iTunes installer just gave me Hotspot Shield and a bunch of other random non-iTunes files, then proceeded to give me iTunes that barely works (apparently songs from Apple Music that you’ve downloaded from the cloud can’t be played without internet? Wtf?)
And now whenever I open my computer hotspot shield automatically opens as if to say REMEMBER ME?! THE VPN THAT YOU DIDN’T WORK AND DID NOTHING WVEN WHEN IT WAS ON? BUY ME, SLAVE
NYAAHAHAHAHA!
Boy have I found a good one!
It’s called Hotspot Shield VPN.
I tested it on gambling sites, then doujinshi, and finally pornography. Works like a charm.
There are a few a catches however.
They try to force their Premium membership onto you, so you need to know how to get to the free version: 1) They’ll offer you a free Trial at first, but don’t accept it - just tap the X at the upper corner 2) They show a very long paragraph about their Premium membership. Just scroll down and find the X at the bottom 3) Tap it, and use the free version to your leisure.
Another downside is that it makes you watch an ad after pressing the connect button. To bypass this, just press it, wait a sec, close the app, and reopen it. It goes into diagnosis mode which not only skips the ads, but also ensures that you can connect properly.
Hopefully this helps :D
It looks like a bug. CrypticVPN support is here:
> For all questions/concerns, including abuse reports, please email .
I think they are using Rocketr as a payment provider. Looks like the bug is in Rocketr to me.
You can maybe also contact Rocketr directly. I think u/rawb0t is responsible for Rocketr. Or they have support here:
Hotspot Shield was reported to the FCC for alleged privacy breaches. They cannot be trusted. I also would recommend using an addon like WebRTC Disabler. I use it in Firefox with my vpn. It helps prevent "leaks" of your real isp address. As for the letter, stop torrenting for awhile. I would even recommend just "googling" for direct downloads or cloud storage sites instead of torrenting.
its not hard to use a vpn and get the code for the skins ;) Here is how for people who don't know....
(1-> download and sign up to PrivateTunnel () or other such vpn provider (most have free trials)
(2-> once your vpn client is set to US and enabled make a US uplay account (using a different email to your EU one)
(3->go to ?ncid=1628-3502-5748--2-odvidch-28-41-TheDivision_AgentOrigins_Ubisoft--17-19-10-0116 and get your key.
(4-> turn off your vpn and then login to uplay using your eu (or wherever) account and activate the key =)
Hope this helps someone get some skins
I use Hotspot Shield to get on the American Play Store and I'm just amazed at the amount of content I can see but will never get in Europe. I guess Google is just worried about people not having Dutch/German/French content but I couldn't care less. I only watch American series, read books in English and not to mention music.
I once "bought" 2 free TV pilot episodes on Google Play and I can see them in my Google Movies on my Gnex but I can't "play them in my country". That sucks.
Can't play it behind the firewall, or can't download the patch behind the firewall?
The reason I ask is because I can't get patches behind the firewall, nor can I access the steam client websites (like the stores and what not), but I can play the game itself behind the firewall (though the website in the client won't load, can't access store, etc.). So what I typically do is use the best proxy service I can find (currently using Hotspot Shield) to download the new patch or access the stores (which sporadically works, I usually just keep flipping through steam download servers (Iceland seems to work well) and manipulating my dl speed till it clicks). Now, I actually live on campus, so this is definitely worth the trouble of having a stress release in pharmacy school. I imagine if you don't live on campus, it's not worth the hassle. Just wanted to point this out as another individual frustrated by dumb campus rules (they say it takes up too much one game of Dota2 takes up practically no bandwidth in comparison to the equivalent website browsing).
I went into Network Preferences/Advanced 1) Clicked on the DNS tab 2) Added two new OpenDNS servers: 208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220 by pressing the '+' button 3) I clicked OK and then Apply 4) Turned on Hotspot Shield and it's working!
Let me know if that doesn't work.
Hotspot Shield is good for making your entire internet experience slower and kicked off with an advertisement. The modified headers plug-in is a one-time one-minute setup that otherwise changes nothing.
Tried Proton VPN, Hotspot Shield, still can't get over the Server Error. Tried deleting and re-downloading, nothing works. Hope Intel is happy with collecting my device and account data. Can't wait for Intel to crash and burn soon. Fuck them
Free VPNs are surrounded by controversy regarding privacy and safety. As long as you understand what is going on with the free VPN you are using, and how to keep them "isolated", I don't see why you can't use something like TouchVPN or Hotspot Shield. It's true they collect information about you and your hardware, but they can't collect more than you give them. Firefox has two great container plugins, Firefox Multi-Account Containers and Temporary Containers, which render all of TouchVPN's "malicious" intents ineffective.
Temporary fix that I got to work is to run mobile data through a VPN.
1) Get OpenVPN Connect and PrivateTunnel
2) Activate free PrivateTunnel account and game should load fine with vpn running
edit: this is for Android and is working on my GS6 with Koodo
Hmm... I have another VPN service installed (Hotspot Shield) and i would like to ask you something about privacy.
Recently i received a letter (by post) stating that someone has hacked my PC and they know all my passwords/websites/cookies etc. (with examples... and it was true). It was a bribe sort of thing -> "dont take the promotion at work and we will not divulge your internet habits". I'm 95% sure it originated from my firm.
I am renting a flat and the ISP is not under my name so i cant really change the Internet provider. I cleaned my browsers, CCleaner, Malwarebytes, Installed VPN, Keyscrambler and changed passwords.
Could you please tell me what should i do next? Is there another layer of protection? I know, I know - formatting my drives. But what else?
Many thanks
I called up tech support for my Internet connection (I was getting 0.2 Mbps download and 1.5 Mbps upload), and he concluded that I was using Hotspot Shield (I wasnt). I told him that it wasn't installed on any of my machines. He asked me if any other devices were connected.
Me: *goes to the DHCP lease list on the modem page* Nope. No others.
Guy: Then you must be using Hotspot shield.
I lost my temper at this point.
Me: If you really don't believe me, go effing run a trace. If there's any traffic from my IP to them, then it'll show up.
Long story short, my Internet speed restored to normal in a few minutes.
Tl;Dr ISP uses traffic shaping despite a download limit and blames me when their filters go haywire.
Try a VPN. Proton VPN has okay speeds but unlimited data. Windscribe gives you up to 15GB of free data and it's really secure. Hotspot Shield works in most schools and I think it has unlimited data. However, Hotspot Shield has serious privacy issues.
h264ify :- Forces Youtube to use h.264 codec instead of current VP8/VP9 Codecs. Also blocks 60fps Video if you want.
AdSkipper : Bypasses annoying waiting adfly and nearly all url shorteners.
Hotspot Shield VPN Extn : For basic geoblocked content/sites
uBlock Origin : KING of Adblockers
ViewImage Button : Brings back good old Google Image View Image button
IDM/Jdownloader : Both are great (Requires software to be installed)
EDIT: Blank New Tab Page : It's great if you hate chrome showing recent sites in new tab.
Tor, Psiphon, Hotspot Shield and Freegate don't work since yesterday. They were blocked once before following a chain of protests.
I wonder how it was made possible. They really upped their blocking game.
The article is nothing but scare tactics, which the author employs to direct users to his affiliates so he can make money. Although it's true that some companies employed shady tactics (Hola, VPN masters), but so have paid companies (Pure VPN, Hotspot Shield, Hide My Ass).
Almost no "free VPN" is a free-only VPN. They ALL sell paid accounts, and the free option is more of an extended trial than anything else. I'm 99.9% of cases free VPN = freemium VPN.
In short, this is FUD.
The country blocks the website to prevent piracy, it's basically government censorship. If you know how Tor works use the tor site. For the regular website use an application like Hotspot Shield/Tunnel Bear/Cyberghost, that will make you connect to the website from a remote location so it won't get blocked by your government/ISP.
tl;dr: Run this app and it will unblock it: Happy Torrenting!
It's all very fraught at the moment. Netflix is intermittently trapping attempts to get around geo-blocking. Not very time, not every user, but enough to make it almost not worth the trouble.
Traditionally, smart DNS services have been the best. Unblock-us, GetFlix, etc. only a few dollars per month, with no performance degradation, so better than a vpn. Still worth trying, but all waging a constant battle against Netflix tech at the moment. Still, they all have free trials... Try one and see.
Looking with interest at the new Borderless Internet attempt. They've stopped taking beta users for now, but the signs are hopeful.
For the record, I still think the possibility of 2 different people using the same VPN (thus ending up with the same IP) happens enough that there exists a possibility he is not 100% Guilty.
Now being aware of the situation (me being his JSL GM) I feel that being informed of the situation earlier may have allowed me to better ensure his innocence OR his guilt.
While there would exist a risk that the spammer could return once more if we give Jeetlor another chance, what other harm exists if we let Jeetlor continue under the assumption he stop using the VPN and assume his IP is his normal IP, and if the spammer appears again matching an IP, we then have indisputable proof. If he then has another excuse, that would already be more than 1 strike against him.
I would like to ask why I was not made aware of the investigation earlier so that I could assist more easily, whether the result ends up good or bad, Jeetlor swears he's telling the truth, and until not a doubt remains, I feel its only right as my GM to argue his side as well, as right now, we cannot say that we are 100% sure it WAS him, only that the IPs matched, which can easily happen (and has happened with the VPN Hotspot Shield in the past in other games/programs.
This really depends! I mean you definitely do not want to install your library onto SSDs(seriously, you'd have to pay a shitload of cash for an SSD that holds it), but you'll want at least your work programs(Photoshop,Windows,...) and your starting programs(Steam,Thunderbird,Google Drive,PrivateTunnel,...) on the SSD. Now you'll still have alot of space left you'll never fill with working programs. This space is for games. At this point you'll just wanna think about what games a) you play often enough so that it's worth it and b) have extreme loading screens(yes, Skyrim, I'm talking to you). So just install the games that have these two requirements on the SSD because you'll want to play and not wait.
However, I have a €500(translates into $500 because fuck Europe) build and I fit an SSD in there. I'd rather go with a worse GPU that I upgrade later than reinstalling the entire OS because I upgraded the SSD later. Of course you could just as well start with an SSD only first, only install games you really like and then buy an HDD later, but this'll only let you install ~10 games. Decide wisely.
Oh and btw now that I have an SSD I don't want to EVER get a PC without one again. EDIT: Calculations go with a 128gb SSD. 64gb ones are usually slow and goddammit it's only a couple of bucks for the additional space AND speed.
It maybe lowers it to about 80% of my normal speed, but a lot of that is the fact that all of your traffic is being routed through Europe or Canada before coming back to you. 80% of 30Mbps is still fast enough for most things, and you can bootleg stuff with no worry if you have a Netherlands server (which Kepard has).
But I'm in the US, so it just makes my slow shitty internet into slow secured internet.
You need a VPN with connection in England, preferrably London I figured. I found after trying out but stuttering and not getting the maximum quality is a no go.
You need to set up a fake id based in England. You need an address, post code and (duh) name. Name can be Fake Fakerton, but the address and post code must be right. Head to and get it set up, and save the results in a textfile as you might need them later.
You probably needed a Sky box at your house before but they opened it up for anyone, they just hid it a bit. Almost at the botton it says "Find out how to get Sky Go without Sky TV in your home" press Show and choose your package. I'm using the Family and Sports, since that is the cheapest package you still get Sky Sports F1 with. Provide them with the details you created and pay with a credit card. I think I used my normal card, but I recon you could setup a fake credit card but I haven't looked into it.
I remember there being some back and forth with getting the Sky Go account assosiated with my Sky user (or what name they used) and I don't specifically remember how I solved it, but together we can figure out anything.
40 minutes until the track parade begins! More than enough to get this set up!
If you're Canadian you can use Hotspot Shield to watch American Netflix (better selection of movies)
If you really want to cover your tracks for whatever reason use a virtual machine and a double-vpn from a starbucks. You'll never be tracked.
Minimize a .gif image if it's loading too slow. You'll forget about it until 20 minutes later when you open the tab again and it's smooth sailing from there.
If you're on a laptop and alt + F4 isnt' holding the function key (FN) as well.
Watch porn in Incognito mode.
This game is free on . Unfortunately, this is blacked out in the MASN broadcast area. A free VPN will get you access to it though. Download OpenVPN. Sign up for the PrivateTunnel account that it asks you for. Connect to San Jose, California. Have fun watching the Orioles. If you need any help, just ask.
EDIT: I just found out that there's a 100 MB limit, and i'm already around 90. I'll do some research and get back to you.
None because soon as the stream starts, you can disconnect and it works perfectly without a VPN.
I just use Kepard as they have a free 10 min a day account. It takes 30 seconds to bring up a stream and then you disconnect.
Calming down is the most important thing, there is no need to rush an answer, as I hope you will believe that you shouldn't be punished by any fair supernatural forces -if they were out there- for trying to learn the truth. Read for both sides. The best tool you can use and trust is your own mind after learning some critical thinking so try looking it up.
If you prefer watching more than reading, check out QualiaSoup on Youtube amongst other users.
Regardless of which side you will settle on, your journey will be a slow one so take it easy. I don't like how I'm sounding I know more than I do, but at least you found a spot to vent if needed and know you are NOT alone. Remember to stay safe online and use anonymity software like Hotspot Shield or Tor if you happen to be the paranoid type.
This isn't about God existing or not or religion being true or not, this is about you becoming you.
Actually it doesn't. My school recently blocked all DNS servers except for the dreaded OpenDNS (which blocks practically everything), and now the only way I can access blocked websites is through Hotspot Shield.
Yes, your internet will be slower with it activated, but with a decent connection you will be just fine. I usually get about 80-100 ping with Hotspot Shield, 60-80 without.
Hotspot Shield should just sue them. Might be easier and more effective than a petition.
For the lazy.
If you have the money, NHL Gamecenter. Near-HD quality if your internet connection can handle it. If games are televised you can catch all of them.
Also has NHL Archive which is
If the game is blacked out, use something like Hotspot Shield or another VPN, reload the page. Wait until the feed loads and you can disconnect the VPN.
Edit - here are some screenshots I took tonight (Nov. 5) -
I had Hola and Hotspot Shield interchangeably for years. But they both started limiting the time to 40 minutes at a time, so I couldn't watch a show without needing to wait another hour for the free tier to "recharge".
I stumbled upon Proton and it's...surprisingly generous for a free VPN. I'm planning to buy a subscription to it because I'd like to get some additional benefits out of it and the lowest tier lets me tie two emails to it so I can split it with my brother.
These are interesting rankings, but I think it all falls apart at the beginning with your concept. The weight you give circumstances of chance - like which country a company is based in, or if a browser has a desktop/mobile client or not - while undervaluing the reputation in comparison makes the end result not entirely credible.
Take Hotspot Shield for example, which has received a formal FTC complaint on practices that should at the very least deserve a "bad" reputation classification. Yet it shares the same "good" reputation score as many other VPNs, some of which I know that don't have publicly embarrassing situations like that.
Without having gone over everything in detail, I found at least one inaccuracy with the Chrome browser for example. It's not Open Source, but a proprietary browser. What you meant was Chromium, which is almost identical but for some details, yet it is a separate browser. I guess with your weight adjustments the end result would be the same; the browser is less user-friendly because it has no official release.
For all the Comcast users, I believe it may be an issue with Comcast, I tried using betternet VPN to no avail, but Then I used PrivateTunnel and I got through the loading screen. after you load in you can disconnect from the vpn
If you're not buying the product, you are the product. Do yourself a favour and buy a subscription to private internet access or someone like that if you value total privacy. If it's just to circumvent country restrictions on videos you're gonna burn through whatever daily allowance a free VPN gives you. The only truly free VPN I've come across is Opera VPN and that's on mobile and their desktop browser iirc but it's ad supported and not a replacement for a true paid VPN. Hotspot Shield is also pretty good but you only get 750Mb a day iirc and the free tier is again, not a replacement for a paid VPN
Amazon app.
Prime video.
Prime now.
Ebay.
Run pee. This one tells you the best time to go pee during a movie so you don't miss any important parts.
Bet365 app if you're a gambling man.
Hotspot Shield VPN.
Parcel track. Universal parcel tracker. Just copy and paste any tracking number from any shipping company and it'll work.
Scannable. Scan anything and turn it into text. Really cool for business cards. Scan that shit up and the contact is instantly in your address book, and you can throw away the card, or give it back to the person.
Airlines: all of them. Almost all of them now work with Apple Wallet and will let you use the phone as the boarding pass (or your Apple Watch).
Star Walk 2: point the phone to the sky, and it'll draw you the constellations and tell you the names of the stars and everything. Really cool augmented reality app.
Windfinder: if you kitesurf or windsurf, this app is for you.
Tweetbot: the best twitter client by far.
Swiftkey keyboard. The best swiping keyboard I've found. It even lets you type in more than 1 language without having to tell it to switch.
Purify ad blocker.
This is not the norm. There have been a lot of server issues lately that I believe is the result of DDoS or ISP infrastructure, but playing through a VPN bypasses the issue, so a lot of people are doing that until the issue is fixed rightly.
One I've seen people use is TunnelBear, and I tried PrivateTunnel at the suggestion of the VPN subreddit. It works for me, but pretty much all VPN's are either paid services, or scams. TunnelBear I heard offers 500MB free when you start, which is enough if you only use it for RuneScape. Watching videos or Netflix will eat through it in minutes.
If using a VPN isn't an option for you, there is unfortunately not much to be done until the issue is fixed on their end.
I use VPN myself on top of CPP/eduroam (I don't use GUEST because of the speed limit). You can create your VPN server at home and tunnel in to that and it should work with CPP/eduroam using default ports (PPTP, L2TP, OpenVPN etc). You can also buy PIA/TORGuard/OctaneVPN etc and they should work too with no problem, but again using default ports. I haven't tried all VPN so I can't really tell you if they all work. Also, I use default VPN ports so I can't tell you if it works with other ports.
Benefits of VPN? So the University or Starbucks or etc you're connecting with won't see your traffic. Yes it is possible to see your traffic with the right tool. For example, they can see the website you're visiting if not encrypted. There are other benefit but also downside of course.
What's the difference between OpenVPN (which I'm using) and PrivateTunnel, which is listed on the OpenVPN page? And, there's also a server?
They mention they're a private company. Does that have any bearing on if OpenVPN is FLOSS? Is it non-profit?
