Sync for Reddit. Play store and subreddit.
I've used quite a few reddit apps both on Android and iOS, and sync just stands out above all others for me. The menu structure makes navigating through reddit/the app so easy, and the layout of posts/comments is great.
Bought the pro version years back and haven't yet found anything to drag me away from it.
Looks great! Will try it out now.
Here are the Playstore links:
Sync for reddit
Sync for reddit Pro (2,69€)
Dev checking in, this is a fairly big update but these are the highlights:
The last version (V12) also added "peeking" to images (long press to see a speedy low bandwidth preview).
Try Sync for Reddit if you're on Android. The app is awesome, the developper is even awesome-r and the community around the app is great too.
EDIT: r/redditsync is the app's subreddit for suggestions and bug reports, etc.
I made a domain filter for their site, never seen them again. It's great.
edit: To clarify, I use RES to do it with Reddit in my browser, with similiar functionality in my preferred mobile Reddit app, Sync for Reddit. The first time Google Now tried to show my an article from them I selected Never show news from this site again. Between those couple steps, that's eliminated them entirely.
Thanks for the shout out!
For those on the fence or have never used Sync I've started to create a list of unique features:
Google Play link
Try Sync for Reddit. I think it has good mod support (even though I've never tried it), the app is awesome, the developper is even awesome-r and the community around the app is great too.
/r/redditsync is the app's subreddit for suggestions and bug reports, etc.
I love the series, but can you use the reddit.com/r/bert... instead of the reddit.app.link links? I use another reddit app Sync for reddit and it has to open the other app everytime I click on a link
sync for reddit
Seriously. Try it. /u/ljdawson's development ideal is basically "build the reddit client google would build"
Ditto. I use Reddit all the time, hate Reddit mobile and redesign, which gives me little confidence in their app. Dev seems active and friendly. Plus I can do this (งツ)ว. Worth.
Play store link: Sync for reddit
It's a Reddit app for Android devices, considered by many to be the most aesthetically developed and feature-complete.
Here it is on the Play Store.
IMO the better app (which I am using right now)
Just scroll down and you'll see the Beta Opt-In button :)
> Reddit is fun is 100% the standard now for mobile access.
This is 100% opinion. My opinion is that Sync for Reddit is the best app for Android with Relay for Reddit very closely behind it. Check those out.
The best solution is use a third party app. I have no complaints about it at all. Here's a link:
Try Sync ([link] ). Coming from readit I couldn't find any good reddit app until I tried sync. I've been using it for 3 weeks now and it's as good or better than readit. Tried the official app, reddit is fun and some others.
Tried reddit sync? Plays streamable links perfectly for me, assuming you're on android it's probably the best reddit app, no idea about IOS though
Reddit Sync. Android only. It's pretty good but Reddit Sync Pro is legit the best Reddit app I've ever tried and it's only $4.
Ah yeah just looked up the screenshots Link for the lazy - Reddit Sync looks like a beautiful design especially on a larger tablet!
Okay, thanks for letting me know. Also, it's very noticeable on mobile or at least on Sync for Reddit because it shows in brackets next to the hyper link (imgur.com) or the like.
I highly recommend that any Android user should use “Sync for reddit” (formerly known as “Reddit Sync”). It’s a great app that has many useful features, such as a functional back button.
It’s a whole lot better and more customizable than the official Reddit app.
Itse olen tykännyt Androidille Sync for redditistä sen verran että laitoin Pro -lisenssin. Suosittelen testaamaan.
Sync is this shit. The dev responds quickly to bug reports and pumps out features like no one's business. Besides, it's fast AND pretty.
Sync is great. Try it. It's pretty great. It's the only Reddit app I've ever used, and it's the only app I've ever felt the need to use. Give it a shot.
It's Sync for Reddit.
I'm a bit of an Android fangirl, so I'm probably not the best to ask, but I've never really liked how iOS looks. Android looked horrific back in the Honeycomb days, but the fairly recent Material Design update, imo, makes it look very pretty, and way better than iOS.
Sync for reddit here.
Love it, been using it for years. Almost every update adds great features, and it's well-maintained as well. Admittedly, there haven't been any updates in a while, but for an app developed by one person, it's understandable that it might sometimes miss a few features for a while.
Anyway, favorite app here. It'll take a lot to get me to switch.
I'm not the Play Store bot but here you go:
It's also been my preferred reddit app for some time, been using the pro version personally.
It is
I've used it for years. I don't know what it actually does in terms of syncing as I've never tried to use that, but its ridiculously customizable (mine looks nothing like the screenshot above) and has all sorts of neat features and is super easy to navigate on screens of all size. (Use it on a 9" tablet and a 5" phone.)
Its actively maintained and updated extremely often with new features and fixes.
I'd like to ask you guys to please spread the word about sync whenever you see people complaining about the notification. It is easy to disable a notification, but sync provides a superior experience over the official Reddit app, and people might not know about it.
Also it is ez to press this button: Play store link: Sync for reddit
Sync can change font sizes and has a lot more customization features going for it - from themes to layout to accent colors.
It just has a slightly different flow of navigation. It relies more on swipes and menu buttons than tabs for on-the-go settings, searching and subscribing.
Well. I thought it would not be correct to advertise other apps. After trying of couple of them I ended up with Sync
I'm pretty happy with it so far.
Cuz front page subscriptions work like that. There is no NSFDOWR mode in Sync for reddit that I know of. Why don't you code me a mode, Modecoder? Here are my deets: Device information
Sync version: 14.3.2

Be a dear and jump on that for me.
yeah they have a bunch.

Wow, so can literally every other Reddit app.
Looks like you're posting about the official reddit app? You should post it in r/redditmobile.
This subreddit is for Sync for reddit, a 3rd party app.
Edit: Actually I understand how you misinterpreted it now. reddit "sync"
Sync for Reddit here, and it's so much better I paid for premium on it. Can't recommend it enough, and I've tried Reddit is fun, relay, bacon reader, slide, and I forget what else. Check it out- /r/redditsync
Reddit Sync, which is easily the best Reddit app on Android. The developer is amazing, and is very active on his sub /r/Redditsync to take bug reports, and is always updating it with new features. I recommend it highly, without hesitation.
Edit: The free version is exactly the same as the paid version, except it contains ads, but it's definitely worth the upgrade to support such a great developer.
Sync for reddit looks pretty good on a tablet, and the dual column layout looks nice with the 1:√2 aspect ratio.
My favorite reddit app is Sync for Reddit, which I find better in most, if not all, way compared to the official Reddit app.
I never won't jump on the Sync hype train. It's a fantastic client that's so much better than the official app.
It feels like Reddit was born too be this lol
It looks like this on my mobile app. Seems like you need a better app. If you're on Android, might I suggest Sync for reddit?
How can a simple gif burn out entire 4 gigs of data , doesn't the app just download the gif once and cache it so that this fuck up never happens
The app i use is Sync for reddit , it does what i said, it just downloads and caches everything i see like the cat gif you said and plays them without burning out anything
I'm going to recommend Sync for Reddit. No issues at all on the N preview and a ton more features than the official app.
/r/redditsync is the subreddit for the reddit sync app --> [link]
I have no idea if there is a support forum for reddit is fun, I've used it once more than two years ago and found it quite lacking in functionality, never tried it again.
Yeah, yeah I flaired it. Just to add I am on mobile, and the easiest app to use to flair so far is Sync for Reddit.
Play Store Link
IOS version is on the way!
Here's the link if you're interested : Play Store
You go into the subreddit of your choice, click the menu button and click sync. Makes life super easy.
>Reddit app could use a bit of an upgrade just like my PC ;)
Use Sync, it's an unofficial Reddit client, and it works pretty great!
> You might be using Sync for reddit, but instead should be using Boost for reddit.
Lol you can't be serious
The official Reddit app is garbage. It has no customization, doesn’t support flairs, doesn’t support custom report reasons, doesn’t support most formatting, etc.
Sync for reddit allows you to open subreddits as new instance if you long press on the sub name in the sidebar. You can even open one subreddit multiple times. Good for viewing multiple subs at a time. But im afraid you cant open comment threads as you scroll like say how you'd do in a browser.
Just realised you can insert your device information as well as a link to Sync on the play store too, sweet.
Sync version: 14.2.3

Wat.
Ooh that's my favorite. Gonna buy the full version soon (even though I use AdAway and Adhell)
We also have Play Store and device information buttons :)
Sync version: 14.2.2
Sync flavor: free Removed ads: false

I started using reddit out of necessity. I needed information and Reddit seemed like the best place to find it.
Then I found RES and Sync for reddit which both support collapsed comment threads. Thats when Reddit started making sense to me.
IMO the best app for reddit. I've tried all the other major apps (RIF, Bacon Reader, the official app, etc) and Sync was the one I settled on. It's far and above the most feature rich of the bunch
I use Sync for Reddit. And it has formatting options as a scroll that pops up above your keyboard. This is on Android, not sure how the iPhone apps are.
As in you should download Sync for Reddit.
And you should then upgrade to the pro version because /u/ljdawson is our #materiyolo prophet.
Honestly though, a reddit app is a must have for me. Mobile browsing using a well made reddit app is just a completely new ball game.
I use Sync for Reddit and I can't imagine browsing reddit using their mobile site.
I've tried several reddit apps, even the terrible official one and Sync just shines above the rest.
It looks like there really is no option to flair on the mobile version of the site. The only way to do it is to revert to desktop view and the "flair" button will be there under your post.
As that can be a pain, most of the Android apps do have this functionality if you're open for trying out one. They're rather convenient otherwise too! Our recommendations from the sidebar are Sync and Relay.
Personal opinion, but I think Reddit Sync is the greatest reddit app out there. Been using the paid version for years, and even though there's apparently an official app now, I have no desire to switch to it. I don't see how it could be any better than Sync, which follows Google's design guidelines to a T.
The other reply has some good points, but I figured I'd add some.
It's been a while since I've used RIF, but if you go to Sync's Google Play listing you can see a concise list of features and what makes it unique compared to other Reddit apps.
Also, the developer behind the app (/u/ljdawson) is very active and extremely quick to respond to bug reports and suggestions!
Sync for Reddit is the best Reddit app on any platform by far, in terms of both looks and user experience. Easily matches alien blue and surpasses it in some areas like better spoilers support.
スマホ用のRedditアプリ使ってないですか？Androidですが、私はSync of Redditを愛用しております。これがあれば削除しなくて済むのでは？
The reason for the deletion of my account is because I will be out of internet for some time and I don't want any misunderstanding during my away (for example not replying messages).
This is probably a targeted ad.
I recommend that you switch to an app like Sync for reddit (my personal favourite) or Boost for reddit; and not just because of the intrusive, maliciously disguised, and irritating ads, but also because these two apps both have so many more features, including many useful customization options, than the awful official Reddit app, and also look and feel so much better.
Yeah, don't use the official app cos its complete ass. Use Boost for Reddit or Sync for Reddit or any other popular unofficial app until the official app's devs become competent.
Hi, there. Why the rudeness?
To answer your question, both Sync for Reddit and Joey for Reddit do this.
They will both mark articles as read when you scroll downwards and the posts disappear atop of the screen.
And sync for reddit on android has it as well, and you can skip around in gifs to go to whichever part you want
You could solve it by using another Reddit app. There are many unofficial clients on the Play Store and all of them are better than the official Reddit app. I like this one
In Sync for Reddit there is an option to start every streaming video muted (except for YouTube obviously).
Also there are speed controls (to slow down or play faster) available in its gif/video player.
Highly recommend it.
Não há um aplicativo oficial do Reddit pra Android, mas existem várias versões feitas por vários desenvolvedores diferentes, eu uso o Sync for reddit.
Hey friend, do yourself a huge favor and get Reddit Sync for android, it's a huge upgrade over the desktop version on mobile.
Also, I never doubted the warriors either! I texted my friend early in the 4th saying they will still win it.
I recently joined Reddit and I downloaded the app called Sync for mobile. It has good features, ones I like, but I'm still learning.
I'm not sure if I can link it (idk how to do it) but look it up.
Oh well. There's a "play store" button, as soon as I pressed on it, it added the link. Cool.
eu usava o reddit is fun até descobrir o Sync for reddit, curti o modo noturno dele pra usar o dia todo sem gastar bateria
I'm really struggling. Starting to go manic just a bit and I am very aware that my brain is thinking things in different ways. Chronic pain from 2 spinal fusion surgeries
My wife has a caring profession and has nearly Betazoid compassion and patience. so my basic needs are met and I can stay home and do chores and work in my home silversmithing studio.
So everything is perfectly OK, but my brain is shifting a bit weirdly... I'm rambling going bye bye. *
Forgive me for accidentally pasting some random thing that I have no idea how u got there so don't bother to read Bekow.
. Buy bye

Just change the Reddit app, then.
I suggest sync for reddit, which has that option and many many more additional features and customization options.
It's the subreddit for Sync for reddit, a third-party Reddit app for Android.
This information is in the sidebar, by the way.
I've used Sync for a long time. Excellent app, comfortable, very customizable, easy to pick up: Play store link: Sync for reddit
Sync for Reddit has this option, if you're on Android. Also, its IMO far and away the best Android Reddit client anyway.
> PS, the reddit app selections on Android are abysmal compared to Readit/Baconit. I'm quietly sobbing over this.
Sync for Reddit is the best IMO
Wow. These editor options are awesome! You should totally download Play store link: Sync for reddit and check it out! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Sync version: 14.2 (final beta)
Sync flavor: pro
There's two versions without ads.
One is the IAP which you've done, it's the free version minus the ads. Not Pro. [link]
One is a standalone app without the ad code in it full stop. THAT is Sync Pro. [link]
Tbqh the developer should never have done the IAP option, it's unreliable and confuses the crap out of everyone
Because it's a bad app.
On a more serious note, they just haven't added that functionality. I don't know all of the apps that do, but Sync for Reddit can do it.
3rd-Party Android apps show gold no problem.
Source: Reddit Sync...just about better than Alien Blue. (I use iOS on a daily basis, but my tablet is Android)
Sync for Reddit. It's my favorite Reddit app for Android.
I think Karma Machine is prettier and has really nice animations if that's what you're looking for, but it's relatively new and doesn't quite have enough features for me to use it regularly. Ninja edit: it also doesn't have a pizza theme.
As much as I agree with you in principle, have you tried Reddit Sync? Honestly I think it's more powerful than the Reddit website on a phone. It's not ideal, bit I think it's the best of a bad situation.
I was on RIF for a couple years before moving to sync and never looked back. So much customizability, wiki support, moderator support, that I couldn't begin to list it. It's free and paid version is cheap, it'd be worth checking out to fiddle with the settings to look around.
Biggest thing, which the name comes from, is the ability to "sync" or store X amounts of pages of Reddit for reading offline, and you can choose to include the comments and how many. Really useful.
I also always have the night theme on to save battery and there's an AMOLED black version so it doesn't even power on the black pixels for phones with AMOLED screens, like samsungs.
It also has Reddit markdown shortcuts in the reply box, can save drafts, upload images directly to redd.it, a button for text emojis like so: (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻) , and more.
And yes, you can tag users :)
I check the modqueue several times a day to check reports and things caught in the spam filter. I have an ifttt rule set up to notify me on my phone of new posts to /r/memphis so I can at least have an idea of what all is going on. I come directly to /r/memphis less often than modqueue, but at least once or twice most days unless there's something interesting that I'm following more closely, but I do try to hit /r/memphis/new and /r/memphis/comments when I do to see if there's anything I'm missing.
I mostly use Sync on mobile these days, and it has okay mod features (modqueue, approve/remove things, flair posts). I haven't found an app that has great mod features yet. Nothing comes close to what /r/toolbox offers on desktop.
Per adesso utilizzo Sync for Reddit
Volevo provare Slide for Reddit che sembra molto promettente con tante animazioni e material design
Many of the third party apps make it really easy, sync for reddit for example you just tap
the image icon I don't know if the official app can do this too.
Personally I use Sync, but recently I've had problems with the back button exiting the app completely rather than going back to the previous page. If that issue gets fixed soon then I'd recommend Sync
The quickest solution to this, then, would probably be to use a 3rd party app, such a Sync.
There are other Reddit app alternatives on the play store, but I know from personal experience that you only have to press and hold the star-shaped "save" icon below the post in order to categorically save it.
Sync for reddit
Sync for reddit (Pro)
Sync For Reddit. One of (if not) the best app to browse reddit. After getting an iPhone, I am disappointed with all reddit clients for iOS. Neither Narwhal nor Apollo come close to Sync. The pro version is easily worth it if you use reddit a lot.
edit: It's got a subreddit: /r/redditsync/
Hey, thanks man. But it's all in the app. Sync For Reddit, formerly Reddit Sync. There's a cool little Smiley button that inserts the Shruggie with proper formatting, so I don't have to do shit.
And that's why it's time to change to Sync. Flairs? Check. Flair images? Also check! Everything that people say "on mobile, can't x" Sync can do.
I'm not even shilling for them, I just really fucking like Sync.
Model: Google Pixel XL
Try using Reddit sync. It's the best reddit app i've ever used so far imo and it also has a dark theme option in the settings. :>
Are you talking about code that you're posting, or just code in general? I'm unfamiliar with the official reddit app's support for markdown, I use Sync on Android.
You can do inline code by surrounding the code with ``, similar to how you can surround text with ** for italics. So "`foo = 'bar'`" yields foo = 'bar'.
foo = 'bar'
You make code blocks by preceding each line of code with 4 spaces, so the line def baz(): preceded by 4 spaces and print('qux') preceded by 8 yields this:
All of those should display properly in the browser. I don't know if they display properly in the reddit app. If they aren't supported and you do a lot of coding subreddits on your phone, then I'd look at 3rd party alternatives with better support. Again, if you're on Android then Sync has my recommendation.
